This is a very "rustic" place. The suite we had was large and had a lot of space, but was in complete disarray. The toilets were stained, the kitchen was dirty, and the general condition of the unit was poor. For example, there were, rusty, exposed screws in the bathroom where they put a new sink. They did not care to take off the original sink base for the new one, and left the screws. The mosquito screens were falling off in many places. The master shower did not have proper drainage. The power went out several times and the generator for the entire hotel was next to our suite. On the positive side, the food was very good and the staff was very nice. The beach is spectacular. The pool is ok, but a bit small (perfect for small children). The hotel is pet friendly, which is great if you have a dog and don't mind dogs around in all areas. The "sell" for this place is the beach. It is amazing and made the whole trip. If you don't mind a rustic place, the stay here.

My family and I spent four paradisiacal days at Casa Coson. The place is beautiful and nicely kept. It has such a nice vibe and good energy all day long any day. The staff is friendly and attentive. It has a restaurant that offers delicious and exquisite food. The bar is open till late night. It has fruity, quenching and refreshing drinks. Really nice cocktails! Looking forward to come back!

1. Hotel property - very nice, it matches the pictures on the website. The main pool was not usable, it was very dirty. The management did realize that and the staff was cleaning it. 2. Breakfast - very nice Dominican style 3. the room - I intentionally picked a larger accommodation "Comfort Studio" which was described on the hotels.com website to fit up to 6 people, size 160 m2 with 1 King Bed, 1 Queen Bed and 2 Twin Beds. That was all not correct. We have not received the requested room we paid for, instead we got: a small hallway, two small rooms one of which had the lock broken (see attached pics). Not impressed, Falsely advertised. I would not book this place again. I will be requesting a refund.

Nous avons fait 4 jrs sur 5 réservés. Il n'y avait pas d'électricité et donc pas d'eau tout les soirs. Donc impossible de se doucher, d'aller aux toillettes, de se laver les mains si vous y allez quand même, de regarder la télé, d'avoir la clim ou le ventilateur, alors que tous les établissements voisin étaient équipés d'un groupe électrogène fonctionnel. Pas de remboursement, aucune compassion, aucune compensation .... c'est un belle endroit malheureusement

This property is on my favorite Beach on the planet. There are always waves for body surfing and the beach is walkable for miles and miles. As for the facilities, the staff are super friendly and accommodating, and the restaurant on-site is superb! There are enough beach chairs for everybody and there is shade available, should you want it. Very much looking forward to returning in the future!

If you want to have the worst vacation of your life, this place is for you! I stayed 3 days in the colonial house (the best one in the hotel) and there was no water in any of the 3 days! I complained a lot and they always told me "it will come back in 5 minutes" and it never came back. I asked to be sent to another room, but that didn't happen. After complaining a lot, they moved me to a room and guess what? The room was flooded, obviously I refused the transfer, the room was impossible to enter, it was flooded. In the end I had to stay in the colonial house for 3 days without water, with dirty dishes, the plugs didn't work well either. In short, a horrible experience. They refused to refund me, I asked to speak to the superior, who was not there and did not answer my calls or messages, chaos.

We booked our stay at Casa Coson in orbitz for 2 nights and our reservation was for 4 people in 2 room/2 bathroom booking. When we arrived the front desk person made us wait an hour while he looked for a location for us to stay because he said that our original stay was unavailable due to a water leak and flood. He stated the new location was larger and better, but that was not true. It was smaller (1 room and 1 bath). It was not cleaned and covered in mold. The mildew smell was unbearable and because of the holes in the mosquito netting there were mosquitos and bugs everywhere. It had also not been cleaned (see pictures) and was covered in rat feces. The bath had a leak in the ceiling. We woke up feeling a little sick from the mildew smell. The next day at 5pm they moved us to the room we originally booked because they said it was fixed and cleaned. Again we noticed how dirty the place was even after the cleaning. The couch cushions and sheets were filthy, there was animal droppings (see photos) some from mice, rats, and lizards everywhere including on all the dishes. There were many holes on the window screens, the shower drain was clogged upstairs, the water smelled like sewer. We called the desk to take care of the drain but no one ever came. We had no towels, and the upstairs bed didn’t have any top sheet. They gave us one twin flat sheet. After killing hundreds of mosquitos, we were watching TV when a rat entered through a hole and ran across the beam in the room.

I have rarerly seen such a dirty property. The kitchen, cook top was the dirtiest cook top I have ever seen. The armrest to the couch was broken. The hot water never worked even after having two guys interrupt our day for two hours "fixing" it. This place is a comedy of errors that will make Fawlty Towers feel like a five star pallace.

Dinner was very good at the on site beach restaurant. Breakfast, (which was included), was a bit of a disappointment though. We really enjoyed our two night stay and will return.

The internet wasn’t working, the ac wasn’t working and the power went out in the first hour we were there. We asked to leave and get our money back but the hotel staff said we would have to get Expedia to do it. Hotel manager said he would approve. However after we left and called Expedia, they said they couldn’t get approval from the hotel. So we are out $140 because of the hotel management lied to us and said they would approve the refund. Very disappointed in the hotel. Many other great hotels we could have stayed at for a cheaper price.

Joel and his team were welcoming and friendly from the start. We stayed in the Mexican cabana, which was unique, wonderful, and very comfortable. The beds were especially great. The beach is one of best we have ever experienced--for walking, swimming, views, and cleanliness. The hotel provided an excellent beach area, with plenty of lounge chairs and shade available when needed. The attached restaurant served delicious food and the drinks were tasty. There are several sweet, apparently well-cared-for dogs at the hotel and we enjoyed their company and their playfulness on the beach.

I felt the pictures were selling a great place, it was a great place, but rooms are a little old. A lot of room for improvements. My stay was good. The staff is amazing and they took good care of us, the pool and bar areas are like new. Beach is few steps away from the rooms. I didn't like the area outside of the Hotel. No security, dark, bad roads. I would come back, definitely.

We loved our stay. We were in the large round building with the king bed. It is not on the beach, but the property is quite small so that was not a problem. I loved all of the space. The onsite restaurant is fantastic, but they sometimes (often!) run out of flour for the pizzas. The beach, I think may be my favorite of all time and I travel! It is so long. We never did get around to walking as far as we could go to the left, which would be west, but did go that way a bit. But we did walk to the east or right, and we were able to make it all the way to Playa Bonita in the town of Las Terrenas! Bring water, we were so dehydrated by the time we got back, but so fun to be able to walk that far. And! There were waves for body surfing, or renting a surf board or boogie board. Can't recommend enough!

Casa Coson was great, front beach property, playa Coson is a spectacular beach. Joel and Zacharias were great hosts. The room nice and clean, very good breakfast included. I will go back to this place in the near future.

The service was great. The included breakfast was delicious with different options. We all enjoyed the traditional Dominican breakfast. The beach in this area was beautiful and clean. No seaweed at all. I would recommend this hotel if you are looking for quiet and relaxation. Las Terrenas about 15 minutes away offers more entertainment but it is a lot more crowded and touristy. It does offer more dining and entertainment options but not as relaxing.
