⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Dreams Onyx Resort & Spa – An Incredible All-Inclusive Experience! Our stay at Dreams Onyx Resort & Spa was absolutely amazing from start to finish. The resort has everything you could want for a relaxing and fun family vacation. We especially loved the lazy river, beautiful beach, and all the nightly shows and amenities. There was always something to do for both adults and kids. The highlight of our trip, though, was the incredible effort the resort put into providing Halal food for us. This made a huge difference and allowed us to fully enjoy the dining experience without worry. A huge thank you to the two amazing food concierges, Santos and Zunilda, who went above and beyond every single day. Their kindness, attention to detail, and genuine care truly made our vacation unforgettable. Room service was excellent—towels were brought promptly, and the room was kept spotless with multiple cleanings throughout the day. The staff across the resort were friendly, welcoming, and so sweet with our children, often stopping to talk or play with them. This was honestly one of the best vacations we’ve ever had, and we will definitely be back again. Highly recommend!

Cool waterpark

Rooms and grounds were exactly like the photos. Easy access to Breathless. Food and drinks were great. Water park was nice.

I had an amazing time at Dreams onyx resort. The customer service was superb, I upgraded to preferred so that I can get access to separate seating and pool area and even an own personal butler. This resort is a family friendly resort. I loved the lazy river and large pool slide, I liked that there were multiple pools around that accommodated everyone so it wasn’t overcrowded. The staff were all very polite and helpful. My room was really nice and clean. The restaurants were good too, my favorite was the steak grill and hibachi restaurants . The night scene was great also because you have access to breathless resort which had more better adult night life and party atmosphere. I loved having access to both resorts, I really feel like a got a bang for my buck. The staff really Made me feel comfortable and helped make my stay wonderful. I enjoyed all the amenities and unlimited food and drinks. I also did excursions which are available for purchase at the resort as well. I’m so glad I chose Dreams onyx resort for my vacation stay it was amazing and I will Definitely be coming back!!!

Quedamos decepcionados: elegimos este hotel para nuestras vacaciones familiares por el parque de agua y cuando llegamos nos llevamos la sorpresa de que ese mismo día lo cerraron por mantenimiento. No obstante, nos asignan una habitación frente al parque cerrado como para recordarnos lo que pagamos y no íbamos a poder utilizar. Lo tomamos variado y sencillamente decidimos pasarla bien por nuestra cuenta como se pudiera.Luego en la noche el restaurante buffet estaba cerrado y los restaurantes de especialidad había tiempo de espera: un abuso para familias con niños pequeños, hubo que improvisar. Uns persona nos llamó a la habitación y le manifestamos nuestro malestar con el hotel y solo nos ofreció hablar con chef para darnos algo diferente para nuestra hija. Le dijimos que no, porque en realidad no iba a compensar la situación. Ya el día del check out le comunicamos a la persona que nos atendió y solo nos dijo que por qué no nos quejamos antes? Sí lo hicimos y nadie demostró voluntad por hacernos sentir diferente. Ella dijo que iba a escalar nuestra queja y esta es la fecha que nadie nos ha contactado. Con tantas ansias y expectativas que teníamos … lo bonito y tranquilo que es pero nos decepcionaron.

The food was nothing out of this world. The lazy river and pool bar was great and the staff were nice. The game room and child care room was an extra cost. Room service food is limited to a burger and fish and ships

The rooms were clean and the resort is absolutely gorgeous. The food wasn’t very good which is why I’m giving this resort 4 stars instead of 5. There’s a lot of bars placed in convenient spots and service was pretty good. We loved Cesarin from the Mixology bar! The waterpark area was super fun. There’s a lazy river, 4 slides, and huge beachballs to play with. I would definitely return.

Room was spacious, Beach and Ocean access was beautiful. Never had an average meal. Staff was beyond friendly. Breilin our concierge was extremely helpful and accessible. Peter and Anthony working the Poolbar in the Waterpark we're amazing. Lots of activities, great place if you have or don't have kids

We had lots of fun taking our grands to the explorer club during family time. Our family found this resort very walkable, but there are golf carts you can flag down all day long. DO NOT think that the sales pitch for Hyatt will be less than the promised 90 minutes or less. Ours was 3 hours long!!!??

From the moment we arrived, the service was consistently excellent—friendly, attentive, and always with a smile. The highlight of our trip was definitely the waterpark: vibrant, fun, and perfect for all ages. We spent hours there and loved every minute! Special shoutout to the team at the pool bars—The Mix and The Reef. Their attention to detail and warm hospitality were absolutely top-notch. Drinks were perfectly crafted, and the vibe was just right. 10/10 for their service! Honestly, we loved everything about this place. It’s the kind of resort that makes you want to come back before you’ve even left. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a relaxing yet exciting getaway!

The rooms definitely need some updating and weren’t as clean as I expected. My sink was broken when I checked in, and there were cigarette butts left by the Jacuzzi outside that never got cleaned up. I accidentally broke a glass, and while housekeeping picked up the glass itself that was left on the table,they left the broken pieces on the floor. The food was pretty mediocre overall. That being said, I have to give credit where it’s due — every staff member I interacted with was amazing. Super friendly, helpful, and welcoming. The service really stood out, even though the facilities fell short.

We enjoyed our stay in this resort. The food was really good at the buffet and some of the restaurants. We really liked faire and blue water. The resort also offered a lot of entertainment options. There were two things I didn’t not like. The resort is outdated and not the cleanest. Also there were people smoking next to the children’s pool.

The property is clean, although our room didn’t look like someone cleaned it after the previous people. We had an old birthday cake and balloons in our patio. Mind you we did book the swim up with butler room. Our room wasn’t decorated for our anniversary and birthday prior to our arrival. The butler did bring strawberries and chocolate to our room but I guess I was just looking for more than average from previous reviews. Liquor is NOT TOP SHELF. Although they did overprice top shelf bottles for $160 ( Don Julio). Additionally the food was not good. The only thing that was good was Hibachi. The steak house was Okay. Pool beautiful, Beach beautiful, Interior design beautiful. Entertainment was Okay nothing spectacular. Breathless amenities and drinks are also accessible and free. But overall I definitely wouldn’t book with them again because they don’t serve top shelf liquor, our room had left over decor (not properly cleaned). Honestly Hard Rock is worth the couple extra bucks ! Trust me

Dreams Onyx was the first all-inclusive my wife and I went to and it didn't disappoint in the slightest! From a very welcoming and hospitable check-in where the lovely front desk folks welcomed us with drinks, we also got a very great deal on Preferred Access, which we really enjoyed during the duration of our trip. The resort is more family friendly, but we had access to the Breathless resort, so we went over there when we wanted to get a bit more lit! However, the entertainment was very fun at Dreams Onyx. The best part of our trip was the lovely staff throughout, the beautiful premises, the Preferred Pool relaxation and the food throughout the restaurants were delicious! Our butler, Brelin, was very helpful. I want to give a special shout out to the bartenders/servers at the Preferred pool, who were so fun and accommodating for all of our requests. Truly a highlight having fun conversations with them! My only slight complaint was the rooms were a bit shabbier than we thought, and could be cleaned a bit better, but still very, very solid! Also, I don't know what the Unlimited Vacation Club is, but their presence there seems very scammy and when you walk in, they come to you with some weird request to attend a 90-minute pitch or session for whatever they're offering and it seems very sales-pitch-like and did not appreciate that at all. Their specific staff seem sales-y and predatory. If you get accosted by them, promptly ignore them.

I had a wonderful time during my stay. The staff was extremely friendly, the room was super clean honestly everything was very clean. There’s food for everyone, vegan options, kids etc. 10/10 recommend

It was noisy hard to sleep rest late

The property is very dated, swim up pool was nice and good very good, but just mediocre in terms of overall experience. Stayed in preferred and paid premium but no real premium service, all of the opposite actually. Didn't meet the concierge until we had a problem and asked for the resort manager. Was our tenth anniversary and very lackluster overall.

The overall experience was good. However, we had a few concerns with the location of our roo and the surroundings construction being done while staying in the room. Our room was away from the daily activities and a distance to walk. Also, the hot tub in our room was leaking. The maintenance dept. did come to try and resolve it but continued to leak. The customer-service was good but the other 3rd party vendors were a bit intrusive. Overall good experience.

I absolutely loved all the Dreams resorts I went to. From the actual resort, to the staff , food and so much more. Absolutely amazing. Like every-time I go, I book a swim out room. But this time I was a little disappointed. We’ve had sharped swim out rooms before and they’re nice. But this pool was so small. Didn’t look anything like the pictures I saw online. Not only was the pool so small, right behind it were 2 main pools. And a gift shop !! I couldn’t do it and had to pay almost a thousand dollars to upgrade to a EVEN better swim out. Emphasis on the EVEN BETTER because I already paid a tax price for the swim out

Best staff service. The lobby and the main pool was not modern. The family prefer rooms were not worth the cost. Best to pay regular room.

It all depends if you are allergic or not. The hotel has the main original building wish is the one they book us at arraival. The room was nice. The problem for us started as soon as we enter the room. Tha main A/C unit is central and the humidity was out of control due to lack of maintenace. Not even ambient deodorizer and a portable dehumidifier could improve it. They switch us to another room in the same building not forgeting that the A/C is a central unit covering all the rooms in the same building. We remain the first night in this room but the next day requested to be change to a compleatly difrent building. They switch us to a newer building wish the A/C was also newer. What a difrence tha room felt fresher & dryer with no huymidity problems. If they had put us in the newer building from the begining the hole expiriance whould have veen 10/10. They know they have humidity problems but only the ones who complain would be given another room. If you don't have allergy problems you would'nt feel a thing. This was for new year eve. The hotel was packed.. all other services where 10/10

Small leak in room. Went during off season, and many of the restaurants were only available on certain days or shut down completely for remodeling/construction. Felt forced into timeshare presentation. Staff was very friendly.

My room came with a swim up pool close to the lobby. They keep everything clean and stock. AC and views were beautiful. Easy access to everything!

This was the 4th time we had stayed at this property and it was excellent. The service is consistently above and beyond. Friendliness and attention to detail are common themes here. The preferred club option is certainly worth the additional fee for the preferred club pool and specialty dining alone. Additionally, this option comes with a butler service. Ours, Breilin, was phenomenal and was able to make our trip easy by making accommodations and recommendations throughout our time here. Nelis, Inoel, Carlos, and Alejandro make the preferred club pool experience what it is and was the primary reason we returned.

So many great things to share about our stay. Check in/overall stay: Our stay really began when Javier pleasantly welcomed us. Javier than assisted us with utilizing my Expedia Gold membership to access preferred services. Throughout our trip, Javier went above and beyond to accommodate all of our needs. He did so by communicating and coordinating anything we needed for our room and dinner reservations. He even checked in to make sure we made it home safe. His assistance made this trip stand out as the best experience we have ever had in DR. We hope to see him again some day. Others: Wester, Randy, and many others were also friendly. Wester memorized my husbands name and we saw hime every day. It is easy to tell how this property must emphasize customer experience. Food: Great choices for everyone. Again, unique with each. Throughout the entire trip, we heard the words “it is my pleasure.” We will definitely be back

The resort is beautiful. The staff nice and welcoming. The buffet had wonderful options although most food was room temperature at best. Heat lamps only do so much. My biggest complaint was being asked to partake in a meeting (timeshare adjacent I assume) and having my room called not once but 4 times all together. I paid for my trip I should not have to dodge people wanting more. And definitely should not be called early in the morning after enjoying multiple yummy drinks the night before. Overall we had a wonderful time!

We really enjoyed our stay at this resort, there were plenty of options for dining as well as swimming with our two young kids. At all times every employee was friendly, helpful, and willing to ensure we had a fantastic time from those in the restaurants to those walking the grounds to ensure it looked immaculate. I would like to call out our concierge Breilin who throughout the week was nothing short of exceptional and was always in contact offering any type of support that he could provide. I loved how when you book through Expedia you get a concierge. My Concierge Breilin was the best he catered to my every need. The property was beautiful and had a lot of fun activities. Definitely family friendly.

The service was the best of any stay I have ever had. Punta Cana is my go to for relaxing and my wife and myself have been there over 12 times and never stayed at the same place twice. We will now. Definitely going back.

Dreams Onynx looks nice but could use some renovation of the rooms. Limited dining no 24 hour inside dining. Be careful of the Vacation Club pitch that the staff sells. Overall, we will not be coming back.

The resort isn’t to large so it is easy to get around the property with children. Plenty of entertainment. The food was delicious! The resort was extremely cleaned and kept up with. We would totally stay again.

The property was fantastic. We were received and accommodated promptly. Duringour stay the service quality was top tier, and the amenities were impecable. The pools were crystal clear and the access to the beach was quite close to us. Overall, an amazing place to enjoy your vacations!

This property is huge and at first seems overwhelming, however, everything is right near all of the main attractions. Also, if you're not into walking, due to the heat and humidity there are tons of golf carts roving around willing to take guests wherever they need to go. The food is amazing with lots of choices of restaurants to eat in. However while they say no reservations needed there was usually a long wait at certain ones on most evenings. Except the buffet, which did have a great food and plenty of seating. While it is an all inclusive and that means drinks I did notice since the pool bars tended to be busiest during the day most, not all, of the bartenders I encountered did not seem happy and on more than one occasion did not give the correct drink or quantity requested, or looked annoyed when asked for anything that wasn't easy. So I guess my suggestion would be to keep it simple at the pool bars since they are already overwhelmed with guests. I loved the lazy river and slides. Also the main pool was huge and a lot of fun too. The restaurant staff in all of the ones we dined in were wonderful. Particularly the hibachi chef and staff. Also special shout out to the wait staff in Cin Cin (Medditeranean) for going above and beyond. All in all I really enjoyed our stay and would return here if I go back to the Dominican Republic again.

We chose an AI for simplicity and so we could not worry about too much planning. Dreams was A good choice all things considered. A little further from airport(45 min) than we expected. $70 taxi each way. Arrival at the resort took some time. Staff were all very accommodating and upbeat. Resort is huge and took some time to navigate best way to get around. Room was as advertised. Worth upgrading to preferred for the more private spaces and even better service. Preferred beach area and preferred pool were nice. It was hard to make the most of the all inclusive aspects since one in our party of three was 15. All-inclusives are not a great value for age 13-18 (or for 18 who don’t drink and who eat smaller portions). Also AI feels like a tourist factory but as all inclusives go, this one seemed best bet. My 2 daughters 15 and 23 and I had a nice time spending time together.

The food was trash. Some of the staff were really rude. Also, this is not Punta Cana. It's 45 minutes outside of Punta Cana.

Everything was easily accessible, and the after dinner show was great way to end an enjoyable day at the beach or the pool. Dining options were excellent and the service was good, however the Mexican restaurant food quality and service could have been better, but it did not spoil the enjoyment. This is a large resort, everything is within a short walking distance and easy to navigate. The resort has something for everyone, active bar areas and quiet beach front. Overall we enjoyed our week at the resort.

Property is beautiful, beach was overrun with sargassum, so unusable. Pools close at 6pm, which is a bummer if you’ve been on excursions all day. They do not let you take leftovers from the restaurant, which is a huge waste of food combined with limited food options after hours.

Super nice customer service, Punta Cana has this characteristic & charm. Food was great, I have been in several resorts and this time chose Dreams because of the reviews about parties and entertainment at Breathless is great. The room wasn’t what I expected I had the swim out. My only complaint is the drinks if you don’t purchase Preferred they’re not good. It should be standard to everyone as Other resorts. Definitely you must purchase preferred or xhale at Breathless otherwise drinks will disappoint you. Parties were fun!!!! Beautiful Beach as well. Just purchase preferred to complete a 5 star vacation. Had a great time. Will go back soon!

The property overall was great. The buffet food wasn't good, however the restaurants were great, the drinks were good also. I would definitely come back to stay.

We had an amazing stay here. The food was great at Dreams and we easily made friends with the employees, who were always so kind and helpful. There is always something to do at the resort, whether it’s swimming by the pool, pool volleyball, beach yoga, Spanish lessons, dance lessons, live shows, and even the nightclub at Breathless is a lot of fun. The only thing I’d suggest is to update the music played throughout the resort as it is a little outdated. Most of the music is from about early 2000s-2016. The resort is amazing overall. We had the best time and couldn’t have asked for a better vacation. We will definitely be coming back. Some noteworthy friendly employees were: Lohan, Espaghetti, Luis, Alberto, and Kendrick Wow. Thank you so much for an unforgettable trip!!

Los tragos en la piscina tenían buena calidad, cosa rara en un all inclusive. This is a beautiful property- one of the best ones we have stayed in. The best things: - great water park/lazy river (minus one big slide that’s closed because “it’s too fast”???) -amazing nightly shows. We saw the rock show with incredible singers, a really fun fire/acrobatic show, and a circus show which was very impressive. Some of the best resort shows we have seen! - super friendly staff, and beautifully kept grounds and buildings. Rooms and bathrooms were always clean and lovely. - booking with Expedia gets u “preferred” access. A butler (whom we barely used but he was very nice and helpful), access to separate quieter dining if we wanted, a nice beach bag, and access to a private preferred pool that was lovely but we couldn’t use bc it was adults only and we had our son with us - speciality restaurants were very good. Hibachi/japanese is the only one that requires a reservation, and it was our fav. We also liked the steakhouse and the Mediterranean food (although only those at our table who got the shish kabob loved the med food. The beef dish wasnt good at all) The decent: - the buffet food was only ok. Plenty of options but the meat and potato dishes were almost always dry and flavorless. I loved breakfast, but lunch and dinner were only ok- but that’s where the speciality restaurants came in handy! - the fact that preferred status was limited to families - we had access to the Breathless resort next door- but it was also adults only.

The rooms, pool, and beach were clean and very nice. However, the first day our room was not cleaned by the cleaning service. The food was very mediocre, though I did not expect anything over the top. However, everyone in our group had stomach issues the entire time. In addition, we were there for a wedding and our bride ran into several issues during her stay due to the hotel staff and “hidden fees.” As a bride on her wedding day, things should be stress free, which was not the case, and the staff did nothing to accommodate her. Therefore, I was disappointed in the resort staff regarding that aspect.
