Finest Punta Cana by The Excellence Collection All Inclusive

Arrived at the hotel to find out that the kids pool area is closed (and will be closed for a longer period). This area was the main reason we booked this hotel because we have a 3 year old that loves pool and slides. There’s a construction going on by the kids play area, hotel is expanding, additional buildings are in the making right by so for safety reason the kids pool/play area was closed but I would expect the hotel to inform coming guests about things like this. Manager Efren ignored the issue, I asked to get daily passes to a close by waterpark, that request was rejected. Hotel also rejected partial refund so we could cover the daily waterpark passes ourselves, instead they offered extra activities for my child such as face painting…wow…I don't mean to be sarcastic but really? Face painting instead of access to a waterpark? This ruined our whole trip. Many other families complained about this issue too. No one received any solution - just excuses and ignorance. We will not go back. For the price we paid I would expect some level of care and more importantly - I would expect to receive information about essential amenities being closed. Other cons - most pools were dirty/muddy, pieces of wood floating; food way below average especially for the price you pay, baby and husband got food poisoning and vomiting for 2 nights, rooms were not clean, poor night entertainment Pros - nice beach, few friendly staff members

Overall experience was good. The rooms were great. The food options and quality were good. The beach was disappointing with the amount of seaweed and vendors that come up to you to sell you things. The staff was great.

We weren’t happy that kids aqua park wasnt working; half of the resort is under maintenance. Not great service from finest club team too. Wouldn’t recommend this resort unfortunately. Beach was beautiful though, food is good. Everything else is just average

This is our second time at the Finest and it was excellent. Love it because they are designed for families with children (toddlers). Loved that they have a baby gym, areas for each range of ages.

The property is beautiful, lush and tropical. The decor is modern and new. The only downside is the beach. The beach isn’t the prettiest on the island. The staff and resort made up for it. Plenty of play areas for families with children. The hotel is top tier for this area. The spa is also very nice.

Had a wonderful and relaxing stay with our 3.5 yr old. We stayed for six nights and loved the room, the service and the pools. The staff was friendly and warm and the hotel was very clean and well maintained. They had so many great things for kids to do but the best was the pool bubble slides that were so much fun! The food was better than the average all inclusive. The spa was stunning and my massage was Veronica was awesome. The gym was another highlight - any exercise equipment you could dream up is there. Overall - excellent hotel and would definitely recommend.

I liked the way the staff cleaned around the resort. They cleaned all day. The room could have been cleaned better while we were there. It was brought up but never addressed. That was the only issue

We had a beach front roof. View was great and room looked good, but there was a very strong odor of mold in the room. The room was very humid. It was difficult to keep our clothes dry. We tried to see if a room next to ours was any different but it wasn’t. The smell of mold was very strong and I was concerned for our health. I don’t know if the property experienced flooding previously. I don’t think the staff can do anything about. They were all very great and did their best. I believe this would have to be addressed by the owners

Roaches in our room terrible experience

Our stay at Finest (family-friendly property) was great all round. The resort is beautifully designed and kept very clean. The staff are extremely friendly and there is a vast choice of bars, restaurants and grab-and-go food places. There was always a cabana or sun loungers available. Our kids did not want to leave, they loved the blue inflatable in the pool, the kids club and entertainment. Highly recommend staying at this property.

The best part about this resort was the staff at the restaurants. Frandor, Luis, Roni and Jhonny really made a difference! The spa was amazing! Sara gave me an amazing massage and the hydrotherapy was a nice treat! The room smelt musty, the food was not my favorite and they do need to work on cleaning the pool multiple time per day. I did feel secure at the resort but not sure I would return.

Property was extremely clean and well taken care of. Service was top notched. Enjoy my time there immensely.

I personally witnessed rodents entering one of your restaurants, staff members requesting “guest feedback” but never documenting it, and consistent communication breakdowns despite the resort having modern systems that could easily be used to inform guests.The food was tasteless, no honestly it sucked.

The overall cleanliness of the property was not up to standard

Overall the property was relaxing, pools were clean, and plenty of things for kids to do. The food quality was on the lower end especially the buffet. Our room needed to be cleaned again as soon as we checked in because of stains on the sheets and debris on the floor. We even found a single slipper in a corner from the previous guest. Half the staff never smiled and seemed annoyed to be working there. The other half of the staff were very friendly and treated us like royalty. I wouldn’t say the place is terrible but for the money we spent we have stayed at better resorts in Punta Cana.

Overall, the experience was great. Service, amenities were great. Lobby and restaurants were great. Checkin/check out was seamless. We stayed in the excellence club junior suite with plunge pool. The pool and outside deck area needs some repairs with tiles on the pool cracked and missing, deck board being warped. Given the level expected, these were not up to standard.

Finest Punta Cana definitely lived up to expectations. The resort was excellent, super clean and a welcoming environment. Only issue my wife and I did have is when the A/C in our original room stopped working in the middle of the night. Regardless, the staff immediately accommodated to us and switched us to a better room within the hour. My wife’s favorite part of our stay definitely was the breakfast buffet. So many options and great quality. The Gym was my favorite facility in the resort. They provided clean towels, water, and a variety of shakes ready to grab and go after your workout. The live shows and performances were great entertainment during our stay. I’d highly recommend if you’re a couple with no kids to spend a little extra for the “Adults Only” package. Definitely would recommend Finest Punta Cana to my friends and family

This was an outstanding all-inclusive resort. The suite was impressive, with an ocean view and a walk-in closet. Despite its cost, the Excellence section was undeniably worth every penny, offering great value for money. Although most restaurants' food choices were identical, they were well done. Service was also excellent. I loved the size and layout of the resort, and it was close to the ocean. I would go to this resort again with my wife, knowing it's a worthwhile investment.

The staff was great. They went above and beyond to make us feel comfortable. The room was great. It was modern and clean. The restaurants were very elegant.

The staff we encountered were friendly especially the ladies at the coffee/sweets bar. The private pool room on the adults only side was clean and spacious, but they need to soundproof the room service closet. We could hear everything that happened in the hallway. The food in most restaurants was bland. The highlights were the fresh pizza at the food truck and our dinner at the Japanese restaurant. During check in, we were asked if we were celebrating something special. We were celebrating our anniversary. Based on our experiences at other all-inclusives, we expected an “anniversary” sash on our door, especially considering the person who checked us in asked for the date of our anniversary and we saw sashes on other doors. That annoyed me because why ask if you’re not going to do anything special?

Our experience at Punta Cana Finest Resort was amazing! We enjoyed our time! All the staff members were polite, funny, sweet and kind! Everything was clean, every one was willing to help! Manuel, the server made the experience 100 times better for us. He was attentive, relatable, and went above and beyond to make sure we had the best service at all the restaurants! Can’t wait to go back again!

The staff were absolutely amazing and very welcoming. We truly felt at home during our stay! The resort itself is extremely well maintained and breathtaking!

The Good: very family friendly on Finest side and great wifi everywhere, even outdoors. The Bad: everything else. Long delays for check-in, even with Finest Club. Failure to have actual room booked, then nerve to attempt the sale of an upgrade (laughing). Service is non existent, room service orders and simple requests (like water) are completely ignored, Finest Club service useless to fix even minor issues, room fridge and toiletries not restocked, food awful everywhere, inaccurate (mandatory) phone app, restaurants closed without notice, completely unpolished/unprofessional staff (although most were very kind). No benefit at all to paying for Finest Club access - there are no special perks or treatment and they don’t even check or enforce access to “club member only” areas. Disclosure: This review is for a family with Finest Club access. AI’s are not our usual, but this was pitched as the best of the best. We had no special needs and very reasonable expectations considering it was an AI. This is NOT a luxury resort by any means if you are choosing between this and Casa de Campo, as we were, you now know which to choose - pay the extra money.

This hotel has potential to be fantastic, but unfortunately they have the rudest staff, dirty pools, and horrible food. But still the attitude I received from the staff is the reason we left 2days early and cut our trip short. Please spend your money else where. I went to reception to raise my concerns and instead the response i got is “you can check out anytime” so thats what we did. And upon check out the guy handed me a form, without me saying anything, and it was titled “reasons for early departure” so clearly a common occurrence. I have travelled to over 50 countries, i have stayed in the high end resorts and the most budget hotels, yet the demeanor of the staff here made this the worst experience. I have yet to get a refund for the days I didn't stay there, or any communication from the hotel. Upon arrival to the hotel I was told because I am Expedia premium VIP i get a whole list of benefits, and the staff would check on me daily, that never happened. One night the shower over-flooded and water went through the entire room, even into the closet where our clothes and suitcases were. It took them 2 hours to send someone to clean, and each person that came in to address the issue, would give us attitude and angry looks.

When I checked in at Finest Punta Cana, I was charged a $400 deposit. At checkout, I was told the deposit would be refunded within 2 days, but it’s now been over 2 weeks and I still haven’t received it. I’ve made multiple attempts to contact Finest customer service with no response. To make matters worse, there was no service at the pool during my stay. For a resort that markets itself as luxury, the lack of responsiveness and basic amenities is extremely disappointing. I expected much better.

I give 3 stars, because Iam a fan of swimming but the beach is not what I expected.

It was a beautiful resort with good food and excellent bar service. It lacks in music and entertainment. Great place for R & R.

The resort is new (2021) and everything felt in excellent condition. Beach front area is very wide for the size of the resort, it never felt crowded. Service level felt higher than in other 5* Punta Cana resorts we travelled to. Food was consistently good and in great diversity, whether the buffet or the a la cart restaurants. Excellent facilities for kids of various ages (such as 3 pool areas for various age groups, in addition to the kids club), though a little limited for teens. The resort was close to capacity, yet the pool and beach areas never felt full/crowded, especially on the Excellence side of the resort. Weddings and events (e.g., graduation celebration) held almost every day during our stays, so expect larger groups and gatherings. I expect the resort was designed with generous sqft per guest, giving the sensation of quiet luxury. Evening events were a little boring, but also poorly attended (families with younger kids seemed retired for the evening). ~45min from the airport, further than the resorts on the Bavaro beach area.

Wonderful property, great entertainment, food and beverages, very friendly staff. Amazing hotel for families, no teens when we went for Speing Break. Very far from all action and airport. Beach sand and sea are not the expected white sand and clear waters (your on the atlantic side). Rest is all great!

It’s a beautiful property for families. It is very quiet both at day and night- great beach location and very peaceful stay.

The beach is not good if it compares with other hotels in the area. The room was not ready at the check in time. It was ready more than 40 mins after and it was not the one I chose (a double twin was delivered instead of one king bed. In addition to that, be careful with the aquatic packages offered by a third party vendor into the hotel. I had a really bad experience with a private boat tour for my family, although the vendor is not part of the hotel, the hotel partners with this third party vendor (with room charge) to offer packages to the guests. Positive aspects: facilities are new (it compensates that the beach is not good), staff friendly and lovely, the spa is actually a very good experience. Food and drinks are high quality. Events & entertainment are very good too, my kids enjoyed.

The hotel was nice overall. Our room was way bigger than it looked on the pictures. Our Spa experience was the best we had ever experienced. But, I do feel that there should be more restaurants in the hotel for noon because there's only 3 restaurants, not counting food trucks. Also on our last night, even though the Mexican restaurant wasn't full, it did take more than 40 minutes after our entrees arrived to get our food. Overall, I would come again if they follow this feedback, 8.3/10.

The food at every restaurant and the buffet area food was alway cold although it was supposed to be hot caused me and my husband to get food poisoning. We were sick in the bed for 2 days of our trip. Which is very disappointing

Please please stay away from this hotel. Please save your money, a lot more options out there, they’re renovating so they trying to save money on food, etc to build more rooms. They don’t have buffet open for dinner, we stayed for 8 nights. The same food every single day. Nothing for kids to eat but fries and chicken fingers, never fresh, always leftover, you can just tell because fries get soggy, chicken fingers hard from reheating. Kid’s pool was closed. We saw cockroach on our last day, we couldn’t even eat. One of the worker open our door even when we have do not disturb sign on. No enterrainment by the pool. Been to so many all inclusive, never complain. Been to RIU republica and it’s way cheaper than this hotel but they have way better food, better entertainment, better everything.

Positives - Restaurants are superb with a wide range food choice and great quality (we tried Brass, Dommo, surf & turf, gusto, shoji, Lizo and Juke’s) - facilities at the hotel are very good - Room is very spacious and laid out well, plenty of storage - Drinks were delicious and strong, the bar staff were very good - Some staff very good and attentive - The excellence club Pool was great - We enjoyed the beach and beach staff were very good - Spa and treatments were very good - Tennis pro was the best member of staff we encountered, we made good use of all the palapas available and especially loved archery Negatives - staff persistently phoning our room multiple times a day - Communication from some staff is poor, particularly listening skills - Room not cleaned until 4/5pm each day and was missed 3 days of 7 - Room service took 1hr 20min when we were told it would be 45min - Some staff inappropriate - photocopies of passports on show at the check in desk breaching peoples information and confidentiality every day - issues raised with the hotel were attempted to be resolved but weren’t resolved easily

Overall this is a fantastic resort. We were shocked at how quiet the Excellence side was during the day and night. We never had to “reserve” a lounger at the beach nor pool. Food was good at the buffet and excellent at the a la carte restaurants.

I didn’t like that I could barely get food . Restaurants were often closed and when they were open it was hard to be seated . Also room service messed up our breakfast 3 times in the same morning.
