Overall this was a good resort with good beach (lots of sea weeds in the afternoon but constant cleaning), amazing pools, great restaurants and fantastic entertainments. However few things were disappointing. They were serving very regular drinks, not just not premium but very basic drinks. They were usually out of something, being mints, liquor for specific cocktail etc. Also, staff were treating us very normal, several unanswered questions. Cleanness could have been a bit better and property this old was supposed to be shinier in washrooms, etc. but was ok overall. But restaurants were so good for specific foods. We didn’t like the Japanese one as much but the Italian was good (except for its Lasagna, which is popular), the French one was amazing for yheir steaks, the Mexican one was great for everything except for its chicken tacos, the sport bar was ok, but the star was the ceviche place on the beach. Omg, amazing food all the time. Spa and hydrotherapy was very good too and had nicest staff. Btw, try all drinks and ice-creams in the coffee shop. Also, entertainments were next level. We usually skip entertainments but joined every show and enjoyed them all.

Pools were great. Beaches were not so great due to seaweed season but that's not anyone's fault but ours. Plan around seaweed season if you want to spend time at the beach. One unfortunate thing about this resort is the food. The bfast and lunch buffet is probably your best bet for the entire stay. We tried the french, sushi, hibachi, and Mediterranean options and we did not like any of the food we had. I wish they had put a little more effort into making the food. I understand you can't expect much from an all inclusive but the food was quite disappointing. Please work on improving food and I think this resort will do really well. DO NOT ORDER THE FRENCH ONION SOUP at the french restaurant. It's not soup. It's bland carmelized onions in a dry bread browl with absolutely no soup inside. It wasn't just our table but i noticed MANY tables leave it untouched after they took a look inside the bread bowl. DO NOT ORDER THE RAMEN at the japanese restaurant. It does not taste good at all and I am asian. I know what ramen should taste like and it shouldnt taste the way they make it. The hibachi was not so bad but you have wait for people to fill up the hibachi table seats in order to eat even if the restaurant is not busy and there are long waits on busy nights. One more advice is, unless you have the money to do so, do not fall for the free spa credit for time with sales rep that introduces offers for a form of time share. We unfortunately fell for it and wasted 2.5 hours.

The layout is open, modern, and easy to navigate, and the grounds are kept in immaculate condition. The beach deserves special mention. It was truly one of the cleanest beaches I’ve ever experienced—so pristine that I couldn’t even find a seashell. The water, the sand, the atmosphere… unbelievable. And the drinks? Amazing. Every single drink we had was delicious—fresh, well-balanced, and clearly crafted with care. Whether it was a cocktail by the pool or a drink with dinner, the quality was consistently impressive. I have really enjoyed the cleanliness, the friendly staff, the various amenities and dining options. The spa with hydro therapy is amazing. The gym is very well equipped and maintained.

Best customer service ever. Facility was very clean. Our butler Smerlin was fantastic and our concierge Rafael did a great job letting us know everything that was available. Room was spacious and the swim-up pool was a great feature. The pools were amazing. Loved the food at Chez Rose and Sospiro. Breakfast buffet at Liberi had no flavor. The beach was closed most days (red flag and too much seaweed accumulation). Drinks were inconsistent across the board; no two drinks were the same. Website to book dinner reservations wasn’t updated for a private party so we reserved a table that wasn’t available to us. Bathroom in the suite didn’t offer privacy

Overall, an excellent visit. Highlight was the amazing staff! Everyone was so friendly in every aspect of our stay, going above and beyond. Special shout outs go to Jhonny and Miguel as the main pool, Sarah in the lobby lounge and Hailey and Manuela in the sports bar. We did not have a butler but our friends did, and Alex was so helpful in taking care of us as well! Finally, Jesus who led the rum and cigar tasting was a blast! Restaurants were easy to get into every night. No reservations were needed, even at peak hours like 7-8pm. Favorites were the birria tacos at Mexican, filet at French and garlic shrimp at Mediterranean. Hibachi was not good at all! Beef was terrible, sushi was hard. Sprots bar food was on point. Onion rings were the best! Pizza and cheese sticks were also great. I loved the sports bar and lobby lounge. Pools were never crowded but could have used some more activities, or at least some call outs to the activities (there is one board in the main area that gives you a list of events. BIGGEST gripe - upon arrival, we were told we got an upgrade from our junior suite pool view to a ground floor junior suite with a swim up pool. WE WERE FACING THEIR NEW CONSTRUCTION THOUGH! 9am the jack hammers went off as well as the pounding all day. We are not "stay in the room" people but I do like to relax in the AM which wasn't happening. Wife didnt feel comfortable swimming at room do to so many workers looking down or driving by. This was not an upgrade!

Beautiful hotel. Not as big as I expected it to be. The restaurant staff goes over and beyond. But our room was not stocked everyday or fully cleaned everyday even after asking over and over. The cleaning lady didn’t sweep our floor. Plus we walked in on cleaning lady and she had our door blocked by her cart and when we went in to see why she was in the room it didn’t look like she was doing anything at all. Made me feel like maybe she was being snoopy. I enjoyed myself with the other guests that were there. But hotel overall is beautiful.

Overall we had a great time at Live Aqua. The staff was the most hospitable I’ve ever experienced at a resort. You can tell it is very intentional. The restaurants were very good. In fact, there was a culinary approach to the food and experience. We had the swim up room which was really nice but you can tell that the resort is a bit worn. Our sink retained water for several minutes before draining. The headboard was pulling away from the wall. The other disappointment was there were no a la cart food options after 10:00. Finally the entertainment was top notch. The best I’ve experienced at any resort. The Michael Jackson show and Dominican show were incredible. I do recommend the resort but you’ll need to manage your expectations in the areas I shared.

Live Aqua has the potential to be awesome! The grounds are amazing but our experience was a bit lackluster. We were there celebrating our 30th Anniversary and was looking forward to some alone couple time. This is the place if you want peace in place of a party atmosphere so that was great. Reading prior reviews we were hoping for a butler that went up and above. Unfortunately for us we did not feel that was the case. He sent a daily text but seemed to drop the ball in a personal connection. The beach was totally unusable. The amount of seaweed and smell were very off putting. If this is important to you, you will be disappointed. The room was spacious, well laid out and functional. He sent a daily text but seemed to drop the ball in a personal connection. The beach was totally unusable. The amount of seaweed and smell were very off putting. If this is important to you, you will be disappointed. The room was spacious, well laid out and functional. Fabulous hotel, great location and facilities. Food overall was decent some restaurants and menu options could have been better but generally nice. Rooms were great although strange choice for no walls into bathroom, makes you feel fairly exposed.

The pool outside the room was a great touch to the trip. Love that there are different pools we can get in to, great food, entertainment everyday the people are wonderful, also one of the most comfortable beds we’ve slept on in any hotel. The staff is great super nice, very helpful, would highly recommend to my friends and family.

I absolutely LOVED my trip to Live Aqua. The staff were friendly, my room had a huge Jacuzzi tub on the main balcony and an upper deck balcony with additional loungers and privacy. I heard the "Live Aqua" corporation is building a family resort next year, and although it wasn't noisy (minimal construction noise) it was a bit of an eye sore if your room faced it - which mine didn't so I was bothered. There were several wonderful restaurants to choose fun and I loved the food!

I personally think for the amount of money that they charge to stay at that resort the service that was given shouldn’t expected. I paid for vip access and never saw my butler until the third day. The food was awful!!! It didn’t taste good and it was always served cold. I was roped into a 60 minutes sales presentation after I said no they became rude and wouldn’t speak to me again. Why would I want to spend 300 dollars a month for a travel club to receive horrible service. I wish I would receive some of my money back. It’s definitely not a five star resort!!!

Reynaldo Gonzalez, our butler, went above and beyond - always attentive, approachable, and genuinely kind, with great restaurant recommendations. Ask for him if you go there, and you will not regret it. Yohan Hernandez kept the entertainment lively and fun. Santiago Perez Baez was an excellent server and gave us the best chinola mojito, and Maria Cordones impressed us on her very first day with outstanding service. We cannot leave behind Heidy Sanchez at the French Restaurant. They did not have more desert, and she went above and beyond to get to my wife her creme brulee. Truly a fantastic team all around - definetly coming back!

Live Aqua was amazing. Visited for my birthday trip, and the staff made me feel like a regular. After the trip I just had, I just might become VIP. Plenty food options, entire resort is beautiful, and fun interactions throughout the day. All staff were helpful and attentive. Shoutout to Jensky, Joe, Noris, Marian, Rosa, Nancy, Adrian, Joel, Salvador, July, Jhonny, Miguel, George, and Delvin! They truly made my experience unforgettable. Thank you!! We stayed for 5 nights in Feb 2025. We paid for VIP & stayed in the Viento Suite. PROS: The staff overall was phenomenal, food was good, beach was great. Good activity selection but I wish their was more to do around the resort. It was relaxing and everything was maintained very well. CONS: As I mentioned, we paid for VIP & Viento Suite. This was a once in lifetime vacation that we were able to take due to saving and waiting a long time. I had expectations and wanted to truly experience being a VIP, as we waited so long to be able to take a trip like this. The first two days were great, it seemed like everyone knew our names and went out of their way to make our visit special. However on day 2 they asked us to join a "30 minute presentation" and promised a free massaged. We agreed for the free massage but said we would do it over breakfast the next day. It ended up not being over breakfast, but instead an hour after breakfast. They hassled us about spending 18K to join their program, and kept asking about our annual vacation budget. We had to repeatedly say we could not afford what they were offering. It was honestly humiliating. After that, our quality of service dropped. We were invisible after that, since we were no longer considered a wealthy client, but everyday people. They even remarked to us about how we wouldn't be in the room we were if it weren't for the construction (too exclusive/expensive). I will never return to a Live Aqua resort, save your $$.

Pools were great. Beaches were not so great due to seaweed season but that's not anyone's fault but ours. Plan around seaweed season if you want to spend time at the beach. One unfortunate thing about this resort is the food. The bfast and lunch buffet is probably your best bet for the entire stay. We tried the french, sushi, hibachi, and Mediterranean options and we did not like any of the food we had. I wish they had put a little more effort into making the food. I understand you can't expect much from an all inclusive but the food was quite disappointing. Please work on improving food and I think this resort will do really well. DO NOT ORDER THE FRENCH ONION SOUP at the french restaurant. It's not soup. It's bland carmelized onions in a dry bread browl with absolutely no soup inside. It wasn't just our table but i noticed MANY tables leave it untouched after they took a look inside the bread bowl. DO NOT ORDER THE RAMEN at the japanese restaurant. It does not taste good at all and I am asian. I know what ramen should taste like and it shouldnt taste the way they make it. The hibachi was not so bad but you have wait for people to fill up the hibachi table seats in order to eat even if the restaurant is not busy and there are long waits on busy nights. Pools were great. Beaches were not so great due to seaweed season but that's not anyone's fault but ours. Plan around seaweed season if you want to spend time at the beach. One unfortunate thing about this resort is the food. The bfast and lunch buffet is probably your best bet for the entire stay. We tried the french, sushi, hibachi, and Mediterranean options and we did not like any of the food we had. I wish they had put a little more effort into making the food. I understand you can't expect much from an all inclusive but the food was quite disappointing. Please work on improving food and I think this resort will do really well. DO NOT ORDER THE FRENCH ONION SOUP at the french restaurant. It's not soup. It's bland carmelized onions in a dry bread browl with absolutely no soup inside. It wasn't just our table but i noticed MANY tables leave it untouched after they took a look inside the bread bowl. DO NOT ORDER THE RAMEN at the japanese restaurant. It does not taste good at all and I am asian. I know what ramen should taste like and it shouldnt taste the way they make it. The hibachi was not so bad but you have wait for people to fill up the hibachi table seats in order to eat even if the restaurant is not busy and there are long waits on busy nights. Live Aqua is a such a beautiful resort! It was quiet and fun at the same time. It is a bit further from the airport than I like (apx 40-45 min) but definitely worth the drive!

This property is beautiful and has many incredible features. I wish I could have given it a perfect rating...but there are a few things that need improvement. First, we stayed in a swim out garden view room. This gave us lots of special features and access that were great! Very worth it. Our butler, Roalvys, was FANTASTIC. Arrival was rough, but I'm not sure it was the norm. A large business group arrived at the same time, and we waited in line for over an hour. Our first room faced a hotel under construction. It was noisy and an eye sore. However, Roalvys moved us to the other side of the hotel, which was perfect! (Building 4) The hotel, grounds, and rooms are incredible. Very clean, updated and well appointed. The service good some of the time - but not good most of the time. Very disappointing. This could easily be improved. The food was bad! This was our biggest disappointment. I've stayed at other AI in Mexico and have been very happy with the food. (TRS and El Dorado Seaside) We found a few things that were good and tried to order them again. However, several things were bad and, in some cases, inedible. Two stand outs for quality and service were the coffee shop and the Aqua Club. Miladys was a wonderful bartender! The beach was good. Lots of seaweed, but they worked hard to remove it. Overall we had a great time at Live Aqua. The staff was the most hospitable I’ve ever experienced at a resort. You can tell it is very intentional. The restaurants were very good. In fact, there was a culinary approach to the food and experience. We had the swim up room which was really nice but you can tell that the resort is a bit worn. Our sink retained water for several minutes before draining. The headboard was pulling away from the wall. The other disappointment was there were no a la cart food options after 10:00. Finally the entertainment was top notch. The best I’ve experienced at any resort. The Michael Jackson show and Dominican show were incredible. I do recommend the resort but you’ll need to manage your expectations in the areas I shared.

Overall this was a good resort with good beach (lots of sea weeds in the afternoon but constant cleaning), amazing pools, great restaurants and fantastic entertainments. However few things were disappointing. They were serving very regular drinks, not just not premium but very basic drinks. They were usually out of something, being mints, liquor for specific cocktail etc. Also, staff were treating us very normal, several unanswered questions. Cleanness could have been a bit better and property this old was supposed to be shinier in washrooms, etc. but was ok overall. But restaurants were so good for specific foods. We didn’t like the Japanese one as much but the Italian was good (except for its Lasagna, which is popular), the French one was amazing for yheir steaks, the Mexican one was great for everything except for its chicken tacos, the sport bar was ok, but the star was the ceviche place on the beach. Omg, amazing food all the time. Spa and hydrotherapy was very good too and had nicest staff. Btw, try all drinks and ice-creams in the coffee shop. Also, entertainments were next level. We usually skip entertainments but joined every show and enjoyed them all.

We stayed on the week of October 12th, and there was no sargassum, they do a pretty good job on keeping the beach nice and clean, the water was perfect, we decided to spend most of the day at the beach. Hotel listed as a 5 star hotel, structure wise, it is; that being said, they do fall short on a couple of items. First, the food, low quality and not so fresh, it’s the Caribbean and the orange juice is not freshly squeezed, it’s a processed juice that doesn’t taste good, the other natural juices they have, seemed mixed with water as it lacks the fruits sweetness. The breakfast buffet was the only mild option, but there are no lunch or dinner buffet options, leaving you with a few pool side and beach restaurants that are ok. I wanted to start off with the food portion, because I wanted to get the not so good out of the way and focus on what made our trip. Special mention to the group of individuals who made our stayed a relaxing and enjoyable one. Miguel at the front door, Jose Luis at the Mediterranean and Italian restaurant, Carlos at the pool bar, Rafael, Rossy(not sure if that’s how her name is spelled, sorry!) at the beach, the crew at the spa, our housekeeping ladies. Their spirits and happiness to assist us on anything we needed really gets to you, they made our stay memorable. The spa is a beautiful, lots of light and open concept at the hydrotherapy area. The spa services are highly recommended, they really pamper you. The gym has everything you need!

Best customer service ever. Facility was very clean. Our butler Smerlin was fantastic and our concierge Rafael did a great job letting us know everything that was available. Room was spacious and the swim-up pool was a great feature. The pools were amazing. Loved the food at Chez Rose and Sospiro. Breakfast buffet at Liberi had no flavor. The beach was closed most days (red flag and too much seaweed accumulation). Drinks were inconsistent across the board; no two drinks were the same. Live Aqua has the potential to be awesome! The grounds are amazing but our experience was a bit lackluster. We were there celebrating our 30th Anniversary and was looking forward to some alone couple time. This is the place if you want peace in place of a party atmosphere so that was great. Reading prior reviews we were hoping for a butler that went up and above. Unfortunately for us we did not feel that was the case. He sent a daily text but seemed to drop the ball in a personal connection. The beach was totally unusable. The amount of seaweed and smell were very off putting. If this is important to you, you will be disappointed. The room was spacious, well laid out and functional. Our private pool was phenomenal and much enjoyed when we felt like a break from the public pool. The only real drawback was the rooms smell. It was of a strong mildew/mold and we never really got used to it. The food was pretty inconsistent. It was either really good or really nothing special. Several times ordering we were told they were out of items and the language barrier was a problem on several occasions. The breakfast and lunch buffets were always delicious and had a wide variety. Drinks were also inconsistent. My spouse likes a good old fashioned and never had a duplicate as there seemed to be 101 ways of making them. Also worth mentioning is they were fair weak as well. So for the money was anticipating more. Would definitely go back if these problems were solved!!

The “Wonder pool” areas were very nice & relaxing. Everything was clean& groomed. Staff friendly & helpful. The food was delicious. Bring Pepto Bismal just in case. It is very expensive to purchase. We brought a little personal float which was very nice & relaxing.
