Place is decent in order to save money. I little out of the main tourist area, but easy to access by Tuk tuk.

I had a wonderful stay at Posada Don José. The room was spacious and clean, the staff were incredibly kind and attentive, and the garden is simply beautiful. The hotel is a bit farther from downtown, but it’s only about a 15-minute walk, and there are plenty of tuk tuks passing by. The breakfast was also delicious. The only minor inconvenience was that my room was close to the entrance, so I could hear some road noise (though I eventually got used to it). One night, a few guests were locked out and kept knocking on the gate, which was a bit disruptive. Aside from that, I highly recommend this hotel. The hospitality is unmatched, there is reliable hot water with good shower pressure, and everything is very clean and well organized.

A small delicious breakfast is available for a small extra charge and is well worth it. The location is okay: just a 10-minute walk to the town center and about 20 minutes to the ferry docks. Tuk-tuks pass by frequently and cost only USD 1. If I ever return to Panajachel, I would book this hotel again without hesitation. Highly recommended!
