Outlook Inn on Orcas Island

The Outlook in was a fabulous hotel. Our water view king suite was clean, comfortable, and very spacious. Th small balcony with a view of the sound made for lovely evenings. Parking is very easy and the village of Eastsound is right there. We loved our stay and can't wait to return!

I had a wonderful stay at the Outlook Inn on Orcas Island. The location is perfect, right in the heart of Eastsound with beautiful views of the water and surrounding islands! The staff were incredibly friendly and accommodating, making us feel right at home. The New Leaf restaurant is a standout, offering some of the best food on the island -- definitely a must try for breakfast, lunch, and dinner!

Two different fairies were canceled on our way to the property. They very graciously gave us a free late checkout, and had us all taken care of so we could just go directly to the room. She answered my 50,000 questions with patients and good cheer, and they had really delicious muffins and free tea in the morning for us. We had our fur baby with us and they could not have taken better care of their doggy guest. There was a bed and blanket and towel and a fun little bag of treats for himIt’s a really cute little property with an amazing view, in a great little town, with lots of fun stuff to do. We really enjoyed every second of our time.

Communication was amazing, had the room ready for our late arrival, our little dog was so cute on the dog bed and all the cool snacks. It was a wonderful and lovely stay and I wish it wasn't a business trip. We would have stayed another evening.

The room was beautiful and the staff was lovely when we had any questions. Also the restaurant in the Inn was wonderful for brunch!

Stayed in room 8 (room cost appx $500 for one night) The good: Friendly, professional host. The room had a great view of the bay. Complimentary grab and go sweet treats. Walkable to shops and restaurants. Great pre-visit auto texts about tips for the visit. The bad: Told upon arrival that there were private events in the hotel bar and restaurant and neither would be available to us as hotel guests. We were disappointed as we were looking forward to enjoying the restaurant/bar and small plate (supposed to be included in our stay). When I sat on the corner of the bed near the foot, I nearly fell through to the floor as there was no support slats under the foam mattress corner. The host came up and fixed the slats on the lower corner. Later we found the slats on the upper half opposite side of the bed were not aligned and nearly fell through on that side. It was after hours so we had to fix it ourselves. The TV and Chromecast didn't work. A rebooted Chromecast worked but no satellite tv reception. The toilet roll holder was covered in rust. The deck bench has metal things protruding on both sides of the seat making it very uncomfortable. While I would recommend staying at this hotel, I wouldn’t recommend staying in this room until upgrades were made to make it worth the price. I would call the hotel to see if the restaurant & bar will be available to you during your visit. I originally shared this information with the hotel via text and never heard back.

Clean, with lovely view of the water. Easy walk to little town. Don't wait to eat until late, as there are a few restaurants, and they can close early.

It’s old and in need of repair and upkeep. It looks really nice, but very dirty. For the price you pay, there should not be dirty windows , dirty furniture and a dirty bathroom. Perhaps things were just old and needed to be replaced in the east wing.

I really appreciated how communicative the staff were about room details and check in/out. The room was clean and comfortable and stocked with plenty of coffee. The location can’t be beat. Even though the basic rooms don’t have a view, they’re mere steps away from a stunning view of Eastsound and an easy spot to walk around the town. Highly recommend hiking Mt. Constitution.

The room was well appointed, but was hot when we arrived because the curtains had been left open and the sun heated up the room. Also, our room had ants. Breakfast was really good.

The room was clean and tidy. The AC helped deal with the warm humid day. Bed and pillows were super comfortable. The view of the water was gorgeous

Beautiful property and rooms. We had the harbor view with a fireplace and balcony. Soaking tub. Nice little kitchenette. Contactless check in. Lots of dining options.

Wow! Thank you Outlook Inn. I was pleasantly surprised to find that my room had been upgraded to an ocean view room. Thank you universe, Expedia and outlook staff. The gorgeous cozy room was perfect for my solo getaway. I enjoyed spending the mornings on my balcony taking in beautiful views, evenings enjoying the oversized soaking tub and cozying up by the fireplace to do art and read. Every staff member was lovely including restaurant staff. Orcas Island carries a magic and Outlook Inn was the perfect home base for exploring all the Eastsound has to offer. Walkable autumnal Pacific Northwest getaway! I’ll be back!

Our only complaint is that we paid extra for an ocean view, but the view is blocked by a tree! Either cut down the tree or don’t boast of an ocean view.

The staff was attentive and responsive and continued to check it to make sure we were having a perfect visit. Unbeliveable view from our room and balcony. Nespresso coffee whenever we wanted. I was spoiled. It was the perfect place to come back to after exploring Orcas Island.

For $300 a night we we were looking out at cars in the parking lot on the ground level and had to close our curtains for privacy. The room was also on the back wall with stairs and lots of noise. The view from the restaurant was fantastic, but the room was not worth the price!

Beautiful property. Great dining. Great location. Unfortunately I had an incredibly noisy family above my room. The noise transfer was terrible. Also, water poured through the ceiling light fixture from the room above.

Was our first visit to the island and we will definitely be back. The entire staff were extremely friendly and helpful. The room was beautiful and the location was perfect. We were able to walk around to almost anything.

Loved the balcony and beautiful view. Hotel is need of some updates. We stayed in January, which was wet and cold, and were looking forward to using the hot tub. We were surprised to learn that the hotel didn’t have a hot tub as advertised but were told we could use the rec centers around the block. We walked in the dark and gold to be denied entrance due to not having a key fob, which the hotel was unable to provide. Frustrating experience and the gal at the front desk was aloof. Next time we’ll stay next door.

The woman at checkin was not very accommodating. No early check in available and she was quite negative about a local tavern. In a town so small, she could have been more cheerful to offer options about multiple eateries without bashing one? All the local food was great!

The room didn’t have a view even though we were advised we would have one. Big tree blocked our view of the bay. And every time we called the front desk they never knew the answer. Especially for a small town. We asked for dinner recommendations and they were like I don’t know. Then they were like oh you can speak to our cafe and transferred us their cafe that was closed that day. Also. Our charger by our bedside table didn’t work and we called the front desk to tell them and they said we could come down and talked to the engineer if he was around. I figured they’d put in a note for the engineer to take a look at it but told us we had we had to find him and then initiate the conversation. It was quite comical actually.

The stay overall was pleasant. We stayed in the suites on the water the first night which has surreal views and a spacious interior. We had to switch to a normal room on the second night which was less than ideal. The staff was understanding and did give us a normal room with a balcony. The hotel is in a great location and has a wonderful restaurant. Recommend staying here. And if you can get a room on the water.

I was very excited to stay at this property. Check in: I had to sign and initial a standardized form that I wouldn't smoke nor trash the property. I don't smoke. I was given a comp for the restaraunt on the property. I had to come back to finish check in as employee was new. That was fine. The regular employee told me the restaraunt was booked for Happy hour through 8 pm. She told me if other places I could go instead of providing any customer service or display any hospitality planning intellect. $400 bad start to my vacation away from life stessors and work. Thanks. Trying to problem solve..... I asked other employees. I was able to sit at bar. There were at least 10 open tables? Wash your hands in between taking credit cards and peeling lemons and garnishing drinks with your bare hands. Thankfully I do. French onion soup was the worst I've ever had. The spoon I had to eat it on reminded me of the form letter I had to sign. Cheap. I took pictures of the room. No phone. The candied orange peel, vinagrette, and hot shower was only saving grace. The wait staff in restaraunt were very nice. Room was 63 degrees. Keep it at 70. Hire more staff.
