Central Hotel Gloucester

Good central location, convenient low cost parking options close by. Friendly service, good size room, with fridge and microwave. Very good value, we'll go there again.

The property is in a very central location and there were good facilities in the room which was a good size and very clean but we didn't find any other facilities in the hotel. However there are cafes, bars etc in easy walking distance.

It’s right in the centre of town the Kingston walk car park is right opposite and is cheap for overnight parking the only thing it doesn’t have is wheelchair access my wife hurt her back after I had booked the hotel luckily she could manage to walk up 3 steps to get in but others might not be able to the staff were very good about it and moved us to a room were there were no stairs to use

Hotel was clean and amenities were of fairly good standard could do with air conditioning but overall reasonable quality

Fire alarm kept going off,no hot water or heating,lift out of order.

We had a one night stay which was very comfortable with a clean and modernised room but the view was not particularly inspiring. We had minimal but very polite interaction with the reception staff. The hotel was pretty good value and the location was convenient to the center and docks area. The one downside was there was no onsite parking despite the website saying there was. This was the entire reason we booked this hotel over the more characterful New Inn. So this was a little frustrating. Other than that, a good stay.

A gem! Check in smooth and speedy. The receptionist was lovely and polite. Beds are so comfy, clean rooms, fabulous shower and tea, coffee etc all in the room (we also had a fridge and microwave). Only downside is that it doesn't have double glazing, so it was a little noisy (forgot to take earbuds).

Staff very helpful and welcoming. However the hotel is located next to the station in the centre of town with lots of late night noise from traffic/trains and also seagulls. The rooms are basic for the price. There is no air conditioning and the window has a small limited opening so whilst a small fan was provided this wasn’t adequate in the summer heat so we got very little sleep. There is a multi storey car park available in the shopping centre opposite which is well lit and a 5 - 10 min walk from the hotel out of hours. Much nearer in the days as accessible through the shopping centre. Free to park from 5pm-7am and hourly charges thereafter. Nice local cafe opposite (Poppins) for breakfast with 10% discount for hotel residents.

Advertised as having parking, it doesn’t. The noise from the street through the night was ridiculous, my room overlooked the central bus stops.

Very central, about 5 mins walk from train station and city centre was virtually on doorstep. Room was a good size and very clean with great facilities - decent sized fridge, crockery and microwave in room. Minor negatives were the bed linen not being great quality and shower temperature was a little up and down (not massively, just not quite constant), but for the price paid given the location and quality this was great value, would definitely stay again.

We stayed there for a week and during the whole time and had no running hot water in the sink. The shower had hot water only. We complained to the front desk who said they would get maintenance to fix it. However they didn’t turn up during the whole week we were there to fix it. The front desk did nothing to keep us informed about what was going on. We had to go and ask them each day what the status was, and their response was always the same. We’ll get ask maintenance to come and fix it. . I am really disappointed that they didn’t care or actively try to resolve the issue or keep us informed about what was going on. In the end, we didn’t have hot water for our entire trip. So although they had a 24 hr front desk, I’m not sure what they did, because they were not able to actively follow up and address guests concerns. 3. Room service was spotty at best. They were supposed to clean the room everyday. Sometimes they came, sometimes they didn’t. When they did come, they did’t replace dirty dishes or towels, or straighten the room. They mostly came in and emptied the bins. In 7 days staying there, they only replaced dirty linen and dishes at most 2 times.

Great accomodation for the price. Very clean, plenty of facilities in the room - including a microwave, wine glasses, crockery & cutlery. The beds were really comfy and the shower was lovely. Would definitely stay again. Staff were very welcoming & helpful.

Room was absolutely fine as a cheap place to stay for the night, although there were a few cosmetic faults- peeling wallpaper, a wobbly toilet roll holder and a strange patch on the carpet. Saying that, everything seemed clean, the bed was comfortable and the shower was lovely. I didn't go and have the breakfast so I can't say anything about that. The free wifi seemed decent. Overall, I'd definitely stay here again if I'm in town for the night, although I'd probably go somewhere a little fancier if it was a longer stay.

To be honest, this is not a hotel. They are simply renting out very low standard rooms paint is coming off the walls the windows are thin as can be you have to listen to all the drunks and druggies outside constantly we were on the ground floor. You couldn’t open the curtains Was like a dungeon room bedding is very basic. The sheets don’t even cover the mattress protector which is completely worn out. The towels are very basic. The drain in the shower was blocked. We reported it on day one nothing was done. The location is fabulous so central to everything we needed expect the neighbours behind but you can ignore that if the hotel standard was better .

Good bathroom, but poor mattress and linens. Also dirty carpet.

The hotel’s proximity to the train station and the availability of a microwave oven are positive aspects. However, the lighting in the room is inadequate, especially near the door. Furthermore, the dark-colored carpet makes the room appear even dimmer. The room’s price is quite high, likely due to the Cheltenham Festival.

My sister in another room opened my door from outside, so it was unlocked for 2 days/nights

Hotel is a regular place we stay, staff helpful, we normally get a discount on the parking at the shopping centre , but the girl on reception, who said she had worked there for 7 years , knew nothing about it , very strange

No disappointments. Affordable room in the heart or center of the city that's near the bus & train station. Also right across the street is a shopping center with a grocery store & places to eat & get coffee.. all pluses.

Right in centre of Gloucester and shopping centre is across the road, no need for taxi even with big suitcase as bus and train hub are just around the corner

Close to everything with in Gloucester,the train station,Gloucester Quays and Cathedral ,The hotel was clean and all things were easy to use e.g tv, shower was large clean and easy to adjust temperature..A good stay .
