You are paying for the location on Atlantic Ave oceanfront. I was expecting more amenities such as a larger pool with wait service, toiletry kit and robes for use in room. Property was very clean but don’t expect Hyatt Regency amenities. Pool was small, limited seating, free breakfast was just mediocre but replenished constantly and the only parking is valet which was quick and courteous. Staff was friendly.

First time staying at this hotel and it was very nice. Unfortunately, the pool was quite small and the indoor pool wasn't a pool at all. The indoor pool was more like a hot tub; 4 people max! Breakfast was fine and the lunches our grandsons got were quite good. Overall, a good experience.

Property is modern, clean and in a great location. I traveled with family different age ranges and there were plenty of food options close by and within a 20 minute drive. We were steps from the beach. Only downside, would’ve loved a hot tub/sauna. There were just two pools one inside and one outdoor, which gets pretty crowded after 11:00 am. The valet option was great, all of the employees were nice and helpful.

The property was beautiful and well maintained. Down side… decent bar with food, but no official restaurants. Staff was courteous, all throughout. Very nice people. The valet service was exceptional. Gentleman working the bar from 8/1/25-8/3/25 was an absolute gem. Downside, staff is a little slow, not quick moving service at all. However, this does not apply to valet. Valet was super fast! Overall, I would definitely come back, because everyone was nice, and the property is gorgeous.

We stayed here for three nights and booked two rooms. While the front desk staff and valet were friendly, the cleanliness and housekeeping issues will prevent me from ever returning—and I would not recommend this property to anyone. We experienced housekeeping problems every single day across both rooms. One day, they failed to sweep one of the rooms, replace towels, or empty the garbage. This is a beach hotel, so keeping rooms clean is especially important. My mother’s bed still had sand in it from the previous day, and when we called the front desk for assistance, they rarely answered the phone. The shower in my room also had visible mold. I took a photo and reported it, letting them know this was unacceptable—if I do not tolerate mold in my own home, I should not have to see it in a hotel room that cost nearly $2,000 for our stay. Save yourself the frustration and spend a little extra to stay at the four-star Marriott Oceanfront down the road. This was my first—and last—stay at a Hyatt.

Our stay at the Hyatt was overall great! The employees were nice and everyone was helpful and generous. My only complaint is that the sheets we had had way more sand in them than I would expect at a beach hotel. Also a few of my family member’s breakfast plates were dirty. But besides that, we had a wonderful stay and would come again.

Hotel doors are extremely heavy and make a horrible sound when they closed. This was very annoying late at night. There was sand on the floor in the room upon arrival. We had not even been on the beach yet, and we could feel it on the floor when we walked, I would suggest providing a swifter type item that can be left in the room for guest to swifter the sand away from floor.Other than these two things, the stay was wonderful. It was a nice hotel overall. Staff was friendly and helpful. Room was generally clean, but the floors were a little sticky and sandy when we arrived. Beds and pillows were very comfortable and the shower pressure was great. However, there were tiny ants in the room. Given we were way up on the 9th floor I'm guessing it might be a whole hotel issue and even possibly an entire Virginia Beach issue that may be difficult to control. We let the staff know and they left us a can of Raid. Not sure if they did any other treatment as we were out to dinner when they came up to the room. I sprayed the perimeter of the room but still saw a few more ants two days later. It was often too hot in the lobby and at breakfast. AC didn't feel on down there. On our first full day, the maid service had finished our corner of the floor before we left the room (around 10:20) and never circled back. I had to ask them for more towels and washcloths at the other end of the hall when we came back. Continental breakfast was good, but the food, plates, and silverware weren't replenished often enough. Often had to wait 5-10 min for the next tray of scrambled eggs, etc. to come out. Fire alarm didn't ring on every floor. This may be nitpicky, but instead of attached right on the wall next to the toilet, the TP was attached to the vanity which was quite a stretch away. The toilet wasn't fully attached to the floor. You could feel it wobble as you leaned for the TP. We then held the TP before we sat.

The Internet on this property is extremely slow. Just turned it off and used my own. Would not recommend using valet Parking. Not knowing where your car is and kids are attending to take it to the parking lot. No, and no. You have to pay $11 daily for their parking service. Wait time takes up to 20 min for them to bring your car when you need it. Breakfast was plain. Pool water was great but quite a small space. Good for kids.

Great location and very nice property. We had a room on the 12th floor. It was the last one on the right, so we had a wrap around balcony. Would highly recommend this property. Very clean, staff was great and it seemed very safe and was located at a good spot on the beach. Would definitely stay here again.

Staff was often rude. Could not accommodate special requests like rooms next door to one another. Elevator wait time was long since one elevator was down. Staff couldn’t figure out how to keep pool doors unlocked because lock was broken. Breakfast staff was amazing.

My recent stay at the Hyatt Place Virginia Beach Oceanfront from July 13 to 16 was nothing short of spectacular! This hotel truly set the bar high for all future stays. From the moment we arrived, we were greeted with exceptional service, particularly the valet team, which was incredibly efficient and accommodating. The rain limited our outdoor activities, but we didn’t mind one bit because the comfort of our room made it an enjoyable stay. One of the highlights of our mornings was definitely the breakfast. The spread was amazing—everything was fresh, delicious, and plentiful. It was the perfect way to fuel up for our adventures, even if they were limited this time. What made this stay even more special was that it was my mother's first time in a hotel. I’m so glad I chose Hyatt Place for her introduction to hotel stays. She absolutely loved every moment, from the modern amenities to the stunning views. Overall, the warmth of the staff, the cleanliness of the hotel, and the quality of the food made our stay truly memorable. I can't recommend Hyatt Place Virginia Beach / Oceanfront enough! I booked this trip to attend a concert with my daughter. In trying to confirm my reservation yesterday it was IMPOSSIBLE to get a human on the phone. After several calls we called the new reservation line and that person was not able to look at confirmed reservations???Really. Ended up staying at another hotel. Very poor customer service. At 11:30pm someone called to ask if I was still coming- NO!

Hotel was cute for the most part, but check in was terrible. Check in is at 4. We arrived around 4:40pm due to traffic and we weren’t able to check in until after 5 because they didn’t have a room available. We traveled 2 hours to stay here because the reviews were good but the customer service was piss poor. No accommodation, no nothing for having to wait 20-25 minutes for a room that should’ve already been ready at the time of check in.

I have never in my life been to a hotel that served a breakfast as good as they did each day and with fantastic variety! The manager of the breakfast operations needs to be commended and rewarded well because he runs a great ship there. Can't say enough about that and I am not a big breakfast guy. Was shocked a bit by the $150 hotel fee added on when I arrived, but after that breakfast each morning understood why It was added and it's very likely I missed it when booking so will take some responsibility with that. Facility is very nice. Views were spectacular from balcony. Was a bit disappointed that indoor pool was closed a couple days while we were there due to over-chlorination. But not end of the world with ocean outside. Also, the ladies up front were helpful with a few honeys there as well that were very easy on the eyes. Otherwise, I would recommend this hotel 100% Excellent place to stay!

My only issue from my stay is the asking price and the experience with the breakfast buffet. The valet parking? Excellent and unexpected. Never experienced that before. Super convenient. Staff? Friendly and welcoming Room? Looks just as good as the pictures. Beautiful view overlooking the city. Right on the beach and walking distance to many places. Then there's the breakfast buffet... maybe I caught them on a bad day but after eating and checking out my guts didnt feel right. Not sick, just uncomfortable and gassy. Later that night and the next day were frequent trips to #2. Only thing out I consumed out of the ordinary was their breakfast. My advice? Stay away from the powdered eggs. They were tasty and reminded my of the dining faculty but I definitely paid the price. Stale, soggy eggo waffles. For what they're charging there should be a chef there making everything fresh.
