Such a nice warm welcome. Quick check in. Friendly staff. Nice pool & great grassy areas to walk the dog in. Beds were comfortable. Breakfast was amazing fresh cinnamon rolls , eggs , sausage, biscuits & gravy. Been on the road for 3 days . Best place we found to stay. Would definitely recommend

This hotel was a pleasant surprise in so many ways. Vicky at the desk changed our room, twice! With a smile on her face. The first was upstairs and my spouse just had knee surgery, no elevator. Then I wanted a non-road facing room. No problem. The rooms are adorable and each one decorated a little differently (from my stroll while housekeeping was cleaning rooms) . The housekeeper does an amazing job. The hot breakfast rates top notch and I can compare to Marriotts and a few other local establishments. The coffee is GOOD, as oppose to good enough. They keep complimentary fresh water, tea, all day. There is a rec room with a pool table and fuse ball table, just ask for the balls. It had plenty of sitting and good sound control as we did utilize the room and had family visit there while we were in town. I look forward to returning when the pool is open in the meantime the ground are well kept and nice to take a stroll or jog around. The downtown bar and grill (family friendly) has local raised ribeye and filets only the second Saturday of each month. If you are lucky enough to be in town make that 4 minute drive downtown and do that! The owner grills each personally and it was ah-maze-ing!! The menu items are also all top par. Small town friendly, small town budget friendly, I cannot wait to go back. I have family there but the antique place, accommodations and Wauby’s would be enough to bring me back for a fun & reasonable road trip.

Room served a purpose l, which was for my family to sleep for the night. Not the cleanest or the fanciest. Floor and wall had notable water damage from the shower behind the toilet. Rust stains in the shower. Back of bathroom door was covered in makeup and grime. Beds weren’t horrible and the breakfast was decent.

The room was on the second floor and the steps up were a weird height. Made stumbling easy. The front window curtains were only attached to the rod in a couple of places keeping the curtain from closing completely. The bathroom door was so tight that it was almost impossible to close and if you did it was very hard to get open. The tub had mold around the bottom of the tiles. The two beds were very different/ one was quite hard and the other was very soft. My wife and I have sleep issues and need to sleep in separate beds. We both like firm beds,so one of us had to suffer. On the other hand, the front desk person was very friendly and helpful when we checked in and the room was essentially clean.

Homemade biscuits and gravy, delicious cinnamon buns, and a nice selection of yogurt and drinks, good coffee too. We were welcomed into our room by a large cockroach on our bed! Asked for a refund or to be moved into a different building. Owner refunded our money. Yuck!!!

The room we stayed in was badly in need of remodeling. The carpet was old and the box springs under the bed were stained. The toilet didn't flush well. The overall impression was that it was and old and tired hotel. The room smelled clean and not musty at least. The staff member we interacted with was very friendly and helpful. With some remodeling and upgrades it could be a much nicer hotel.

Polite and helpful staff. It’s really showing its age in the rooms. The furniture fell apart, it could use fresh paint and caulking. Take out the old carpet and upgrade the rooms. The parking lot could use repaving. The beds were cozy.

Old style motel, they even use the old physical key. Room was clean, nice bed and more quieter than i thought it would be. The 2 lady night clerks were friendly and informative. Only negative for the room was the light that came in from around the curtains. Other than that it's an old room. That has been mostly updated. Breakfast was better than most other nicer hotels. Price was decent, got a good sleep with a good breakfast. It's just know it's not luxury hotel and you will be ok. We would stay there again.

We checked in around 9-10pm. Staff seemed sleepy and just completely zoned out. It took her a very long time to understand what she needs to do for us... it was a surprise for us too that none of the Rooms have air Conditioning. It was pretty old and stinky inside the rooms. The view from the location is great, right on the lake. The breakfast was great as well.

The room was nice and clean and cutely decorated. I think I spotted a little bit of mold in the shower. We also didn't have hot water for showers our first morning (just warm). It was better the second morning, however. The staff was so great!! They were very friendly and helpful! We even met the owner! The breakfast is beyond any we've ever run across! They have eggs, sausage, biscuits and gravy, oatmeal already prepared with toppings anyone would love, waffles, homemade cinnamon rolls, yogurt, milk, orange juice, coffee (too weak), I mean, it was endless!! This is, hands down, the best place to stay in Russell and on I-70!! We highly recommend it! The bed was comfortable, too!
