Hyatt House Sacramento-Midtown

Beautiful hotel and the bed and bedding was heavenly. Also love the chromecast option on the TV so that I was able to listen to music while getting ready. I also loved the convenience of going to The Star Lounge for dinner and drinks. But I do have some minor complaints. The fact that room service is not offered. I had to Doordash food to my room, and because the only parking option is valet, it makes it hard for door dashers to get my food to me and tip bigger for the hassle. Paid $300 for one night (was there for 18 hours total) at a luxury hotel that doesn't offer room service or even provide a pool. Also, I want to say the woman who checked me in was very lovely and kind and offered me all the information I needed. But unfortunately I got a man who checked me out and did not offer the same pleasantness. Was very cold and monotone. Then when I had asked him a question about Valet, so I can get my car, it seemed like i was inconveniencing him by asking him a question. And it took about 20-30 mins for them to bring me my car after requesting it, which thankfully I was not in a rush, but had I been staying longer, and I needed my car to get somewhere on time, I think that would have definitely been a problem. So yeah, I guess for the amount that I paid, I expected more. Not sure that I would stay here again for the price that I paid

The hotel is cute and clean. There is parking around the hotel on the street but no garage for you to self park, only valet park.

The meter parking was taken up and I wasn’t going to walk a few blocks and carry my bag while walking alone so I had to pay for the valet which I didn’t know was basically my only option upon arrival. Then I walked into the lobby with no one at the front desk and waited for about 15 minutes before someone came back. Then there was an issue with my reservation about what I was charged and being charged. Before my arrival I thought everything was taken care of and paid for and then when I arrived, and it just seemed like every employee I came upon wanted to charge me for everything. Then I finally got checked into my room and all the lights were on, the AC was off and it was 77 degrees in the room. It was so HOT. I tried to watch tv and connect my streaming services and that didn’t work either so eventually I gave up because the QR code just takes you to the hotel website instead of the set up page to help you connect your streaming services. Overall the room was clean and the staff were nice. The rooms were almost sound proof so I couldn’t hear anything from neighbors which was probably the best part. Just for a fancier and more expensive hotel, it doesn’t seem like they have it all together. Overall my expectations of this hotel were much higher then what I actually experienced. I probably wouldn’t stay here again.

Room is always clean. Restaurant and bar is wonderful. Trying to keep this place on the DL cause it’s our “go to” while is Sacramento.

Beautiful older building. Everything was great except the Restaurant and bar were closed for a private party and no other dining options were provided. We had planned on dining rhere before taking Uber to a concert.

Standard American, breakfast fayre, comfortable rooms, good midtown location close to amenities. Valet parking is expensive $40, When there is parking within 100 yards for $15.

Was a short work trip and was impressed with the rooms. The only negative was the parking.

The hotel accommodations were excellent. The $40 per night parking was not so great.

Room was spotless, beds were very comfortable. The kitchenette was useful with mini fridge and fully stocked cabinets, stovetop and dishwasher for those with a longer stay. Location is in Midtown Sacramento, easy to walk to concert venues, restaurants, with Sutter Fort and the State Indian Museum literally at the front door. Parking is valet only for a steep $40 with in and out privileges, so we chose to park on the street which is free at a meter after 6pm. Meters start again at 8am on Saturdays so we moved the car a half a block to a free spot on 27th. Great hotel, would definitely stay here again.

Staff were friendly, kind & responsive. Breakfast was good. Had a bit of a hard time keeping the room cool, but finally worked out the air conditioner. Size of the suites are great and amenities are good, but I was surprised at the lack of cleanliness both in the suite and in the common areas. Hotel needs a serious scrub down and perhaps a fresh coat of interior paint in the hallways. Elevator was dirty and spilled liquid on the floor of the elevator remained the entire weekend. Fingerprints everywhere, sticky residue in the suite kitchen and toothpaste on the wall and sink of the bathroom. Would stay again because of the great staff and comfort of the suite. Cleanliness can be greatly improved. Thanks!

Cockroach on counter, room and hotel elevator floor are dirty,. Room thermometer controls are horrible, need to call operator to set. Neves seen $200 per night hotel with such conditions

This hotel smelled fresh when you walked in and the room was clean. The staff was friendly and helpful. The location was excellent. I will definitely stay here again as well as recommend to others!

The establishment is nice. But the room we stayed in was not clean. The room was not vacuumed, there was debris on the floor. There was hair in the shower and a yellow liquid near the drain to what I can only assume to be urine. The biggest issue I have with this stay is, the door knob to the room I stayed in was falling off. This room was completely unsecure to stay in. The door handle had already been attempted to be fixed, there was silicone around the door handle attempting to hold it in place. The staff was nice, friendly, and attentive.

Any better part of our stay was overshadowed by the countless toenails we found in our room throughout our stay. While the staff was friendly in hearing our concerns and attempting to resolve the issue, we were impacted by this gross inconvenience both mornings of our stay. In the end, the issue was not resolved and even after a maids visit there were still clippings. For the price we paid, this is unacceptable.

Staff was professional and courteous. Hotel was very clean and comfortable and would definitely stay here again.

The lobby and the common areas were immaculately clean, however my guest room was quite a different experience. 1. My room was not ready when I arrived. I guess that's understandable. Mind you I had arrived 25 minutes after my scheduled check in time. I politely said no worries, please have housekeeping to take their time and I wait. I was also told that it would be a 20 minute wait. I was given complementary water while I waited. 5 minutes later I was told my room was ready. Wow 😮. Just minutes earlier I was told it would be a 20 minute wait. That was fast. When I got to my room I understood why it had been ready so quickly. The windows of the room were dirty. I went to the front desk to request window cleaner. No big deal, or so I thought. As I spent more time in the room I found hair intertwined on the comforter. The bed sheets looked slept on. I called the front desk and request we d a full set of sheets and replace requested The towels were immaculately folded, however when I went to used them they had hair on them too😳😕

We enjoyed the overall stay. Staff was very friendly. There was pet hair all over the furniture and floor. Room wasn’t vacuumed properly.

Beautiful historical building. Nice remodeled rooms. Spacious bathroom. Nice kitchenette. Clean! Reasonable price.

Great location for night life. Fantastic staff. Nice bar. Limited food choices but many other great food spots to choose from. Bad if you want to sleep before 1 or 2am on a weekend. Best choice for city vibe. Safe and lux.

No TV. The cast does not work. I used my iPad as entertainment.

Beautiful building! Arrival was quick and friendly. Elevators are quick to arrive and moved at a good pace. Enjoyed the complimentary lemony ice water near the elevators, too. Room was comfortable and had everything we needed. Only downsides were that the bathroom door was difficult to open from the inside, and the intermittent sound of the AC vent moving back and forth became a nuisance when trying to sleep. (Ear plugs fixed the second issue). If you’re sensitive to mechanical sounds, something to consider. A loud group of people were entering/exiting their room while shouting jovially at each other for more than 10 minutes around midnight. I’m glad they were having a good time so I didn’t call downstairs, but it was just really startling for a Tuesday night. Almost every staff person we encountered was above and beyond courteous, professional, and friendly.

Room was spacious and clean. Good amenities. Parking garage is about 1/4 mile away but there is metered parking on the street.

It was a fine place to stay. It was clean and it felt safe. I hear the restaurant is very good. There is no free parking, and street parking is difficult in that area. I reserved a “high floor” room and I was put in a 4th floor room with a single small window.

Great hotel, rooms are nice and large, walk-in shower. Restaurant is also really good and the complimentary breakfast is an added bonus.

It was terrific. Only thing was the window was really small and kind of felt like a cell but only because it is an old building. Just kind of weird Feeling at first. But tang is just my opinion. This did not affect the quality of the room or anything about hotel. Great breakfast also. Let Me Check Out late with no hassle. Great place and the staff I dealt with were fantastic and very professional. Will come back for sure.

I have been a previous guest of the Hyatt House in Midtown and loved my stay enough to come back during my next business trip. This most recent stay left a lot to be desired. When first checking in, 4 other parties were waiting to be checked in with no one at the front desk for at least 15-20 minutes. Additionally, each time I passed through the lobby each front desk attendant either ignored their surroundings or was very unwelcoming. I had to cut my trip short due to a family emergency, and while already visibly stressed, there was a complete abandonment of assistance when I tried to check out early. Not trying to get a refund or anything, they refused to help and deferred me to the third-party provider I booked through. What was already a stressful time wasn't eased by the levels of customer service I received.

Evening checkin lady was so rude I was blown away no hello made me feel completely unwelcome this is my go to hotel for Sacramento when I’m in town and need to stay overnight I will return because I’m sure she was having a bad day but no need to take it out on me you can remain professional and act like an adult

The room was clean and well maintained. The lobby was inviting and warm. The staff was attentive and helpful. The restaurant and bar were on point. I recommend this place to stay. Also within walking distance of things to do and eat. Gold star.

Check in process was painful, we did the early pre-check in through the Hyatt email for 3pm, arrived at about 3:30pm and was given a room that was far from what we reserved. After going all the way back to the front desk to explain, they said that they see what happened and gave me another room, after arriving at that room we realized it was still not the correct room. Went back down a third time and explained our room is selected in the system, why were we provided the incorrect room twice. Third time must be the charm, as the room was finally correct. Food at Star Lounge for Happy Hour and dinner were really good. Service was very slow. Morning free breakfast, pass on that one, cold oatmeal and eggs, only salt no pepper, etc. Overall a bit disappointed.

Valet was incredible. Noticed flat on my car and assisted with finding place to tow it to. Incredible front desk support and valet. IMPRESSIVE!

The stay was comfortable, quiet and quaint. I enjoyed my stay despite being a bit far from downtown.

The area in front of and around the hotel looked like the tenderloin in SF. as 85 year olds we felt severely unsafe.

Would highly recommend a stay at this historic building in downtown Sacramento. Great location, easy and affordable to Valet and the staff is fantastic. If you're not a Hyatt points member and they offer to sign you up, do it. They moved us up to the top floor with a great view just for signing up! Lots of good restaurants within walking distance and, if you have a dog, there's a large park directly across the street.

Stayed here the night before Thanksgiving to catch up with friends before heading to the family. The location of the hotel is great! Right in the heart of midtown - able to walk to restaurants, bars / clubs, etc. The hotel itself is super cute! The front desk team was very nice. The room was also super nice. Spacious. Nice shower. Well decorated. We were only there for a night, but I would have felt comfortable staying for a few nights (and kinda wish we did!) Parking was easy. It was a holiday night, so we parked literally across the street for free (it has meters but they were turned off because of the holiday). The price was budget friendly and reasonable. We will definitely be staying here again when we come back!!!

The staff was incredibly accommodating & helpful! The Hotel restaurant is beautiful offering an elegant dining experience. In a perfect area with easy walking access to restaurants, entertainment & interesting sights. We will definitely return!

Everything was wonderful except for breakfast. Both days Friday and Sat. Really could use some work. Food was cold, french toast and waffles as well as sausage overcooked. Was not edible.

Check in took a little longer than expected. We were bummed that the Star lounge was closed for an event so we had to figure out food options late in the night making it hard. We did get to experience the lounge for breakfast which was great. Cool environment.

The staff was pretty top notch. Everyone was friendly, helpful, and polite. However, this is a noisy place. Many distractions during the night kept waking us up, from people coming and going in the hallways until past 2am almost every night to an abundance of street noise. The biggest complaint was that the breakfast food at the continental breakfast was cold almost everyday we were there. The oatmeal ranged from watery soup to underdone and inedible. Thankfully, lots of coffee shops and great restaurants in wslking distance.

Fantastic greeting and check in upon arrival. Room was clean, fresh, spacious and comfortable. Only downside was the complimentary breakfast, potatoes were burnt and eggs were very dry. Not the standard you’d expect from a Hyatt.

Great stay. Room was very comfortable - really appreciated the blackout blinds. Ate in the restaurant and, while the menu’s very limited, it was a really good burger!

The service has been terrific. The food, @ The Star Lounge, is amazing. We had the salmon with sweet corn polenta and fresh vegetables, while listening to live music! Overall great experience.
