Hampton Inn & Suites Wilmington Christiana

This property was not horrible. I could smell there was mildew in the duct system, as a result, the pillows had a faint smell of mildew. There were permanent stains all throughout the shower and come kind of stain on the ground in front of one of the beds. Breakfast was a great spread that was included in the price. I wished they had other meat options other than pork sausage. The indoor pool was a great touch, however, water was cloudy. The staff was very friendly, welcoming, and accommodating.

No hot water for 2 days, took cold showers. We lost our power so chose to stay here, complained and even moved rooms first day bc of the water issue. They did nothing after several complaints, apparently issues with water through the hotel. An expensive stay for no hot water and dirty bathroom.

I like everything about the property ,everything was clean and mostly comfortable. My issue was the indoor pool water is bit cold could be a lot warmer , and then when youbcone out of the pool room the air conditioning is so high , even with 2 towels each me and the kids were shuvering all the way to our room. The stay itself was so good i booked another night instead of checking out, only to have the power shut down that last night for about an hr. What an inconvenience

Free breakfast, gym and pool. Washer and dryer available for use. Have stayed here before nothing negative to say. Will return next time in delaware.

The rooms were clean. The staff was pleasant. The amenities were below standards. They ran out of multiple breakfast options. The pool was like a ice bath. And there was no BBQ area as described in the amenities.

Breakfast was standard, our room was dirty but the staff immediately changed our room . Pool was cloudy and dirty looking , the gym was great . I expected better conditions considering this is part of the Hilton family of hotels . The gem of the place was their staff. Super helpful pleasant and friendly.

There was a great staff member who went out of her way to help us when the breakfast was interrupted by a water leak on the property. Other than her, the rest of the staff was not very invested or motivated to make our stay comfortable. “No.” Seemed to be an easier answer than being helpful. No printing because no business center. No quarters available for the laundry (which only takes quarters). No late check out. No oatmeal available today for breakfast. The property is also under construction so beware. Walls are thin and we definitely heard neighbors through the walls. Overall, a pretty mediocre experience.

Comfortable room but hotel is lacking in a few areas. We had the unfortunate experience that the hotel was having issues with water system - no hot water in the morning.

The internet is really poor ..tou ysvr to pay a good one ..very annoying..i wish the internet are fast and you dnt have to pay for it

The staff were very friendly and accommodating. We arrived and settled in. Then we found 4 bathing suits in the closet on hangers. Must have been left by the last family but very gross to find and raised our concern about cleanliness. I also found a dead small bug in a towel and I live bug crawling in room. Disappointing.

Room was very clean and the furniture/decor well done. Only minor complaint was that the bathroom floor smelled slightly musty, like a faint urine smell. There appeared to be some water damage as well. Rooms not insulated all that great as you could hear voices in the hallway pretty well. Breakfast selection was great with several hot food items. Dining area very clean and comfortable. Overall, very satisfied.

I’ve stayed at this Hampton Inn several times and always liked it. This was the first time I have numerous complaints. The room was not clean. We found stains of a questionable nature in the shower, on the air conditioning unit, and on the phone. The hair dryer not only didn’t work but was in the bag provided in 2 pieces. I called for a new one but another one wasn’t delivered. Our room was 2 down from the elevator and it was very loud in the hallway and by the elevator most of the night. The hotel next door appears to be abandoned and appears to have squatters living in and outside of it. I was sad to see the hotel has gone downhill since we were here two years ago. I can’t comment on the free breakfast because honestly at that point I was afraid to eat there

The bathroom floor had not been swept or cleaned as there were long black hairs on the floor.

There were some maintenance issues in our room. The lampshades were in poor shape. The shower stall had some lingering dirt. The front desk and breakfast staff were very friendly and efficient.

The nasty smell from the bathroom was noticeable as soon as you enter the room. Bathroom looked clean but smell was terrible probably because of poor air circulation, lack of cleaning supplies used, and/or backed up sewer. It was not pleasant, good thing that I was tired and didn't suffer a long time.

The facility looked updated and generally clean. Staff was professional. Included breakfast had nice amount of options. Only concern was with cleanliness of the linens. We found long dark hair on two towels and bed sheets.

The property was in a nice area, the lobby area was clean. Wasn't greeted by staff walking in. The room could have been cleaner. There was alot of mold, calcium, lime in the shower , hair in the bathroom, crumbs under the small chair in the sitting area. Had I known it was let friendly I wouldn't have chose here, I listened to a dog bark and cry for most of my night, and it was really noisy with alot of kids in the hallway running back and forth.

The hotel room itself had holes in the ceiling, the bathroom had wood missing around the tub. The sheets had stains on them as well. There were brown water stains on the ceiling.

This was the first stay of a family road trip, and the size of the room (we had the Studio room) was the first thing that blew us away - and it spoiled us for the rest of the trip. Add to it that the beds were extremely comfortable, and our first stay was our best stay. If I have to say something even remotely negative, it’s that the breakfast was waining when we got there. But Hampton Studio rooms, especially if we come back through Delaware, will be high on our list going forward

We had a wonderful stay! The staff was kind and attentive throughout our visit. Our room was spacious, clean, and very comfortable. The bathroom was also spotless and well-maintained. Despite the hotel being busy, it remained quiet and peaceful, which we really appreciated. The conference we attended was nicely organized, and overall, everything exceeded our expectations. Highly recommend!

One complaint we had was that the room was listed as nonsmoking, however, it smelled of heavy smoke when we arrived. We indicated this to staff, however, they didn't have any other rooms available. It just made the overall stay less comfortable for our family.

I would not recommend this hotel. And usually Hampton Inns and Hilton properties are my first choice for hotel stays. But this was an absolute disappointment. I was staying overnight for just one night and within 30 mins of being in the room I couldn't wait to check out the next morning. First, the TV only had like 5 local channels, a few news channels, a few sports channels, and a handful (literally 4-5) of basic cable channels. No movie channels (not a single one which even lower grade hotels provide), and then the TV reception/picture quality was crap. So I used my phone to entertain myself. Then the bed was WAYYY too soft. Like sinking, no support soft. Pillows the same. One of the two provided washcloths were dirty, and there was no laundry bag in the closet. In my opinion these are just basics in a hotel, especially Hampton Inn & Suites. Not this one though. On top of that, the furniture had specks of paint on it from the newly painted ceiling. And the one time I called the front desk to ask how the TV worked because I thought I was doing something wrong, the girl at the front desk had an annoyance in her voice. So needless to say, I would never return here neither would I recommend this location to anyone else.

I love Hampton Inn - I was underwhelmed by the mattresses at this location. They could use an upgrade. Otherwise everything was expected and staff was very friendly.

My overall experience was about a 3.5 out of five the hotel itself needs some updated work but it’s still very nice and decent. Staff could be a little bit more friendlier, but it was just an OK experience. It seemed like the hotel booked a lot of people as it was very crowded and walls are very thin.

We stayed for 2 nights for parents weekend and did not sleep well either night. There was loud noise coming from above and despite calling the desk 2 times, it went on until 1:00 am. Sounded like kids jumping or dropping bowling balls, not sure, but it was very disruptive. Probably would not stay again due to the thin walls.

Room felt more dated than common areas. Mattress was extremely uncomfortable and bed frame was squeaky. Hotel had me sign a form about children running in hallway after 10pm (I had my 16 year old daughter with me) but didn’t seem to enforce that rule. Overall - just ok. I would look elsewhere if traveling in the area again

Great staff! Very friendly and accommodating. Television in rooms is lousy, however. A simple upgrade with better channels and streaming options would help.

First of all I do not know how this property received an excellent rating. It was & is very deceiving. I was in Room 335 & there was a whole lot of noise coming from the 4th floor. I called to the front desk and Ron answered. He was very professional & stated they will take care of it. While I waited, the noise increased. I called back down to the front desk and his co-worker, I forgot her name, answered. I explained to her about the noise situation and asked if I can be moved. She said yes & asked if she can put me on hold. I said yes, I waited on the phone more than 2 minutes. I disconnected & gathered ALL of my things. I proceeded down to the front desk. When I arrived, I ask her if I can now have my room moved since I was in her face. She claims she did return to line but I was not there. That was because I disconnected. We were about to go back and forth in regards to what took place over the phone. This type of behavior calls for some customer service refresher as well as phone etiquette. This is the worst Hilton experience that I have ever had. I am a Hilton Honor member but I chose to do Expedia but that should not matter. I was fully refunded my money and stayed for the night. There was still noise from my new room in 138 & complained again which did not really help. I will not return and no you cannot have another chance to try again. You should have done it right the first time. This more about how the employee handle the situation than the noise.

Upon arrival, took the front desk over 10 minutes to check us in. Then we get up to the room that was dirty and not cleaned. Then we had to go back and wait again while they got us a new room

We had stayed at this hotel several times, but were very dissatisfied this time. We reserved a queen suite months before our trip. When we arrived we were told they were over booked and there were no suites available. There were children running up and down the hallways playing hockey and yelling and screaming for hours. Well passed 10:30. We called the front desk and we were told they would see what they could do. They did nothing! We will never stay at this hotel again.

Front desk was very unfriendly. There was times I was in the lobby the phone rang and rang and they were doing nothing and did not answer the phone. There appear to be homeless living in the old closed hotel next door.

Had a room that sleeps 6 and the room only had 3 towels, I had four people so I asked for extra towels for showers which for the front desk staff around dinner time seemed to be a huge inconvenience. House keeping emptied the garbage cans and never replaced the bags, asked the desk and happened to be the same lady as the towel incident and guess what….inconvenient attitude again. My advice if you stay here and you need something around dinner time for your room wait for the morning staff or go to a nearby store and buy it.

Staff is excellent - very helpful, friendly and accommodating. The facility itself is very nice, and the breakfast is always very good This is our “go-to” hotel whenever we come to Delaware.

Months in advance we paid for a two-night stay at this Hampton Inn but they gave our room away. When we arrived the establishment was overbooked with no remaining rooms. So we had scramble to get a room at a different hotel and obviously pay for that also. Several guests had the same issue that day. It was a very profitable weekend for this hotel. And a very unhappy one for many jilted guests.

Best part was the staff. Professional and friendly. Attentive to requests of the guests. Room was clean and spacious. Breakfast was good. Located close to highway and easy access to everything.

My stay was great my mom had surgery at Christiana so the location was great!

Place is located right off 95. It was clean and we had no issues. Stayed one night.

I enjoyed that the property was close to I-95 and near a variety of restaurants and the Christiana Mall. It was next to an abandon hotel where homeless people were hanging out. The property was clean and quiet. The staff was professional and friendly.

Would definitely stay again. Great location and all the staff was very friendly. 10 out of 10 would recommend.

The bedroom was clean but bathroom door needed attention, door was hard to close. The one bed base wasnt stable, and squeaked when you slept on it. The breaskfast was poor, little choice, food was poor quality and biscuits were still frozen.

It was overall a little rundown, in need of some updating. Breakfast wasn't so great -- the egg white frittata was not hot, the potatoes were not hot and were soggy, and the "hot water" tasted like coffee, which is a big turn-off to tea drinkers. That's because it was a machine used for both -- the water always tastes like coffee. Could also use some healthier options.

Room was cold and took a while to warm. Breakfast was poor. Too little staff. Wafffle dispenster wes empty and then did not work. Limited fresh fruit. Orange juice was not as advertised. when quest need too leave on a schedule, they expect that a breakfast can be acquired in a reasonable time frame; That did not happen today.

The breakfast was NOT good. No protein served. Oatmeal was raw!

The clerk who checked us in was awesome. But - it was a pretty uncomfortable stay - the heating/cooling in the room was super loud, and the only options seemed to be too hot — or freezing cold air blowing on us (in November). There was a smoke alarm right above the bed that flashed a white light about once a minute. The breakfast was terrible - no yogurt, the only fruits were apples (I’m allergic) and rock hard green bananas. Very meh scrambled eggs, soggy potatoes, creepy chicken sausage patties, ew. When we checked in at about 11 at night there was only one luggage cart in evidence. In the morning, there were none, I looked several times — over about an hour - finally after I carried all of our bags down by hand, I saw a guy using one cart — my impression is that this four story hotel has ONE cart, and if someone is using it, you’re out of luck. When I asked the woman at the desk if they had carts, she just shrugged. I usually like Hampton Inn, but either the chain is slipping, cutting too many corners - or this one is a bad one.

The breakfast was underwhelming, both in choice, freshness, and taste.
