Excellent spot but having to ask for ice every time as there was no ice machine was a bit much. Also, our bedframe must have been cracked as it made noise every time you moved on it. The layout and design of the bathroom was nice but the half glass door didn't make sense because the shower head was not deep enough for that style as the shower floor continually got wet. Other than that it was a very nice room.

Location is awesome! Be prepared to wait 15 min for the elevator it jumps around floors and fits two people and makes zero sense. The room smelled like rotting garbage/old broccoli while the lobby has a scent pumping through the air. The beds were very comfy but very squeaky. I unfortunately don’t think I’d stay here again because of those things which sucks because it was a great location and the staff is very nice.

Great location. The hotel was very clean with a high end feel. Rooms are good size. Staff was very friendly. Service at the bar was top notch. Our room was very warm at 74 degrees. When notified, guest services advised me to open the window. While this did help cool down the room, it also allowed all of the city sounds into the room. Paying $600/night and being forced to choose between being uncomfortable or being woken up multiple times throughout the night was upsetting. Receiving our car from valet upon checking out took over 50 minutes despite being told it would take no more than 30.

I booked this for hotel for my husband and i after reading some other great reviews. We loved the location. Close enough to walk to most attractions yet not right in the center of it all. The staff are amazing and so accommodating. Don't forget to check out the terrace on the 4th floor and pop in for a night cap in the hotel bar. All in all our stay was amazing and would definitely book this hotel again.

Blake, the Doorman, was fantastic. You can tell the staff at this hotel are hospitality experts. Slept great and comfortable beds. Gym is very small. Dumbells only go to 30lbs and just one bench and treadmill. Worked great for me but only two people could fit in there.

This hotel is brand new to the point that the gym and rooftop terrace is not done yet. In lieu of that, they offer a complimentary breakfast which is actually quite good. It had bagels, lox, pastries, yogurt, fruit and coffee/juice. We stayed in the doubles room and it was enough room for all of us and our suitcases. The bathroom is a bit small and there’s only a small fridge (no microwave and no table). The staff is friendly as well.

Very clean hotel, staff was helpful and professional. Hotel lobby is small but stunning. It looked like there was a lobby bar and restaurant but we never saw either one open. We were there in early April and our hotel room was very hot. We were instructed by the front desk to turn the heat off and open the window. Overall, it was a great stay and I would go back.

The AKA hotel is nicely appointed and the staff was incredibly welcoming and kind. Every staff member we encountered was friendly and asked how they can help. Top notch talent. The reasons why I ranked this hotel 3-stars and not higher is because (1) the lighting in the room, while sleek, is too dark for getting ready (2) for some reason our entire floor when you exited the elevator smelled like mildew/wet dog. It was like you had a leak and the carpets were all wet. Another couple on the floor we overheard mentioned smelling it too. We did notify someone at the front desk and they were very nice and said they would get in touch with engineering immediately, but it doesn't mean it didn't impact our stay. Since the A/C doesn't run the entire time you are out of the room, when we came back after being away for a while, it took a while for the air to circulate and minimize the smell.

Beautiful hotel, room was simple and had the necessities. Unfortunately our room was very dusty, the ac blew more dust when it was on and the blinds puffed up dust then they moved. This caused an allergic reaction. The washroom door didn’t lock either.

TLDR; Cockroach found in penthouse room, dirty floors, situation resolved immediately, amazing staff. I’d like to start my review off by mentioning that the staff are extremely helpful and amazing. They addressed the situation immediately and provided me with a similar penthouse room with no fee at all. When I arrived into my booked room, located on the penthouse floor, I was immediately greeted by a dead cockroach on the bathroom floor. The floors were also dusty and smudged as if it was only swept lightly and not deeply. I immediately called the front desk and they quickly had the bellman take me to another room. Other than that, my new room was quite exquisite and clean. If it weren’t for the cockroach and dirty floors, I would’ve rated this hotel 4.5/5 stars.

Room had dust bunnies around the ceiling edges meeting the wall that were not cleaned. Very dusty in general in room. Carpet in room requires wet cleaning. Part of the electric blind that covers the patio doors to the terrace were ripped at the bottom edge on the glass side. Windows were dirty, and the room was not sound proof as per advertised as we could hear the external air conditioning units when all doors and windows were closed. Terrace was nice and the gym was great. Just requires better level of cleaning and general maintenance in room.

This was my second time booking a stay at this hotel and I was very disappointed to check into my room and find a massive cockroach in the bathroom. Management changed my room and placed me on a higher floor only to find ANOTHER cockroach in the other room as well. I had to cancel my stay and look for a new hotel the same day. I was really taken aback by management when their response to this issue was, "These are the kinks in New York City". I have been traveling to NY for years and have NEVER encountered this issue. Unfortunately, I will never book this hotel again. It's a beautiful property, but cleanliness does not align with what it represents.

There were roaches in our room. They gave us a view with concrete. They “upgraded” our room and it was the same exact room, but in that room there were dust mites in the wine in the mini bar. No lotion it he bathroom.

Lovely entrance and lobby. Overall nice hotel, although our shower wasn’t properly draining the water and there was a bad smell in the bathroom. Person checking me in at the front desk clearly forgot that I was waiting for my room in the lobby, making me wait almost 2h.

Cleaning staff entered out room while we were sleeping and then quickly left after realizing we were in the room. No one told us when to call the front desk regarding getting our car from valet. We had to wait a long time for our car and was told it could be 30 mins to an hour. The shower did not drain in the room and was very dirty.

I stayed at Hotel AKA NoMad and had a terrible experience. On my second night, I found a huge cockroach right next to my bed. While the hotel did move me to another room, not a single person acknowledged the issue with an apology or even the slightest gesture of compensation. I’m not sure if cockroaches in NYC hotels are a common thing or if AKA just doesn’t care, but either way, it was an unpleasant stay. Definitely wouldn’t recommend.

This hotel is stunning and the staff are excellent however, it was not clear in the description that room temperature is not controllable in each room. I wish we had read more reviews but it seems that many people had experiences where it was freezing during the winter or in our case roasting on an 80 degree day. I dont have too many expectations when i travel but this is definitely one of them. Atleast put an old school fan in the rooms!

I wish we had read more reviews but it seems that many people had experiences where it was freezing during the winter or in our case roasting on an 80 degree day. I dont have too many expectations when i travel but this is definitely one of them. Atleast put an old school fan in the rooms!

The room, amenities, and staff were all very lovely and accommodating, however I was unable to lower the temperature in the room due to the building being in “heat mode”. My room temperature was around 76 degrees at all points during the day even when the thermostat was turned off. I asked if the temperature could be lowered and was told they were unable to do that. They were able to bring me a fan after I called a few times due to the hot and dry temperature of the room. Not being able to alter the room temperature definitely detracted from my stay and sleeping with the fan wasn’t ideal for my nose and throat. I appreciate the staff for finding me a fan to use but I hope in the future others are able to alter the temperature of the room to their comfort.

The hotel location is just great...multiple subway stations within a block or two. The hotel staff is just amazing, courteous and always willing to help. They foresee what you might be needing and deliver to it e.g. taxis or uber to locations/airport. Ian, Johnny and really the whole staff is superb. Will return to this hotel.

Super nice courteous professional staff that made our visit memorable. The property/room/location was good and cared for but the staff was *exceptional* from our moment of arrival until departure. Great location. The hotel was very clean with a high end feel. Rooms are good size. Staff was very friendly. Service at the bar was top notch. Our room was very warm at 74 degrees. When notified, guest services advised me to open the window. While this did help cool down the room, it also allowed all of the city sounds into the room. Paying $600/night and being forced to choose between being uncomfortable or being woken up multiple times throughout the night was upsetting. Receiving our car from valet upon checking out took over 50 minutes despite being told it would take no more than 30.

We stayed at hotel AKA for two nights and three full days. The hotel is located directly next to Koreatown so there are a lot of great Korean restaurant options within walking distance, including karaoke bars. Oscar Wilde was a beautiful late night spot within walking distance. Getting a taxi is easy and convenient because of the location. The staff at AKA is SO helpful. They are so kind and always were offering a helping hand. They allowed us to store our luggage upon checkout and called a taxi for us to head back to the train station. Complimentary water, a waterfall shower, and comfortable pillows. My only complaint because of the price point is that the hotel room was strictly set at AC only, without a heat option, and it would not let us put it below 68 or above 72. The window opened which was so nice to get fresh air, but closing it was so difficult as it’s very old and we woke up to the sound of horns honking. The TV has Netflix and is very large. Also, my biggest complaint is that they were knocking on our door constantly every morning at 9-9:30am. Once was someone asking if we needed anything in the mini bar restocked and another was the cleaning crew asking when we are checking out. The cleaning crew was even unlocking the door before I got the chance to get up to answer it. The bathroom lighting was probably the worst I’ve ever seen. The mirror is LED with lights inside of it but doing makeup with bright natural lighting was impossible here.

We moved from one room to another due to my company paying first 2 nights and we booked a PH after the initial room to stay the weekend. There was a date error so Wed to Fri was paid and PH was Sat to Mon leaving the Fri to Sat overnight missed. I was at a function when 11 am came around and a supervisor believed to be from downstairs was extremely rude to my wife at the room saying she needed to be out of the room. This was prior to me going back to discuss the missing night’s stay with Andy (which happened to be terrific and a real asset to your team) at front desk to book the room for one more night. My wife was under the impression I had Friday night taken care of and was not aware of the date discrepancy. This person made my wife very upset by repeatedly coming to the door before she was able to get in contact with me as if she was refusing to leave.

Unfortunately, my experience was completely overshadowed by the manager, who was shockingly rude, unhelpful, and downright disrespectful when my reservation was unexpectedly canceled. Instead of offering assistance, the manager made the situation much more stressful than it needed to be. Thankfully, I was able to resolve the issue through Expedia, who reinstated and reimbursed the reservation — but the manager’s behavior left a lasting negative impression. It’s really unfortunate because the property itself has a lot of potential, but due to the treatment I received, I won’t be staying here again.

The staff are amazing and so accommodating. Don't forget to check out the terrace on the 4th floor and pop in for a night cap in the hotel bar. All in all our stay was amazing and would definitely book this hotel again.

Nice property in a convenient but quiet location which was reasonably priced (until you add the "resort fee" - see below). The room was of a good size with a wardrobe which can be a rarity in NY, comfy king bed as well as a window "sofa" and table. For a six night stay, it was sufficiently spacious. In-room amenities such as a Nespresso machine and a kettle, plus usual expensive items in the mini-bar which I did not consume. Generally the staff were friendly. At check-in they did not provide details of the VIP extra which was a drink for two at the bar, I had to ask, and I didn't benefit from an upgrade. I had supper on night in the bar / restaurant - a delicious turkey club sandwich with some truffle fries. Came to c. $40 including 18% service - not inexpensive but felt reasonable for the hotel and I enjoyed it. The resort fee which I know is standard in the U.S. was less palatable - $40 A DAY. For this, they provided two bottles of water upon check-in, no further bottles (to be fair they do note this upon check-in but seems very tight given the resort fee), six Nespresso capulses (three different flavours, I only drink decaf so after they had been used, no more) and wifi access. Other NY hotels that I have stayed in at least offered daily water and Nespresso capsules, a credit as part of the fee to be used in the bar / spa, or museum tickets, or other perks. Nothing here. It felt very cheap. I would not stay here again due to this which is a shame as I enjoyed my stay.

The hotel is immaculate, intimate and perfectly appointed. Staff are professional, courteous and helpful. Bed in cloud like comfortable with crisply ironed percal sheets. Everything in the room works perfectly. The lobby bar is a wonder, especially bartender Alex!

The staff were excellent. The accommodation not good. One would think for $500 dollars a night one could have breakfast included. There was a bar that was not open. Common area dark and unpleasant. Won’t stay there again ion next trip to NY. Will also tell others not to stay there. It would take very little to make the whole experience better.

I was impressed by the AKA Nomad. Given the very high prices for hotel rooms in NYC this is a good compromise of quality and cost. Nice features in the rooms are the robes, coffee machine and great shower. Also a really good and (for NYC) reasonably priced breakfast. A negative is the miniscule wash basin which has been squeezed in to make room for other features - notably the shower. I guess you can't have everything!

Very clean hotel, staff was helpful and professional. Hotel lobby is small but stunning. It looked like there was a lobby bar and restaurant but we never saw either one open. We were there in early April and our hotel room was very hot. We were instructed by the front desk to turn the heat off and open the window. Overall, it was a great stay and I would go back.

We loved our 6 night stay at the AKA Nomad. Our corner room was spacious and surprisingly quiet. The only thing that was a bit weird was their coffee policy. The first night your in room coffee is included, but other nights are charged a fee. Otherwise we rates this a fantastic find and will stay here again.

It was rather Hot in Manhattan during our stay, the AC in the room was working really hard to get to 70.0 degrees I requested. Only achieved that set point for the temperature I requested during the middle of the night..
