great staff at check-in young girl named Tanika very pleasant - concierge very friendly and helpful- only disappointment was quirky elevators - was staying on the 27th floor of 29 - took elevator once from lobby up to the 27th floor -stopped at 6th floor picked up 2 guests the went back down to lobby - tried again -stopped on 2nd floor - then went back down to lobby- tried 3rdtime stopped on 11th floor picked up a guest and went down to lobby -finally after 4th attempt reached 27th floor - and the one and only elevator to rooftop bar and grill not clearly marked-myself and other guests had difficulty getting there - ice machines are suppose to be located on every 3rd floor -yet nothing on the 27th ? tried to call front desk from my room asking about ice machine - but house phone had no dial tone-so had to take quirky elevator back down to front desk to inquire where to find ice- finally concierge gave us a bag and were unaware no ice machine on the 27th floor which is divisble by 3 ?

Small rooms. Excellent and responsive staff. Despite the room being small, the service made up for it. They were very responsive via text. Everyone - the front door person, front desk and housekeeping staff were all welcoming and helpful. Paid parking is available about 2 blocks away, email the hotel for details.

Rooms were too small and staff wouldn’t heat up my food in the microwave. Microwave should be in the rooms like the coffee makers or customers have access to microwave. For the price I paid for three days.

Staff were really helpful and friendly. Location was good between Herald Square and Penn Station/Madison Square Gardens. Probably just short of 10 mins to Times Square. Some good coffee/bagel shops nearby and bars and restaurants. Hotel was clean, hotel rooftop bar was nice as well. My reason for marking it down 1 star was that the room was quite small and cramped for 4 people. But appreciate its New York and thats probably to be expected.

Great location- easy walk to train station. The restaurant for breakfast was great - clean and comfortable- delicious pancakes! Great shower and nice to have mini frig and coffee maker. Very friendly front desk personnel.

The location of this hotel is pretty good. The rooms are small but might be typical for this part of the city. The elevators are awful. It can take 5-10 minutes to go up or down. And only one elevator goes to rooftop bar so you may have to go to 1st floor unless the right elevator opens on your floor.

Hotel was 4 blocks from Penn Station. Several subway stations within walking distance. Close to Times Square and Broadway shows. Room could have been a little bigger, but we saw the same size at other properties, also. Only con was no microwave available at the hotel.

I filtered my search for hotels with Parking and double tree was selected. However when I arrived (under an heavy rain), I was told that the Parking was located 2 blocks away and there was no way to park the car in front of the hotel to unload the luggage, and there was no parking vallet to take the car.

Had multiple flies in room, woke up with multiple bites from mosquitoes from bed.. After reaching out to Expedia, Expedia claimed that the hotel denied any compensation because we did not mention at checkout however nobody asked us during our stay or checkout how things were.. bad place to stay unless if you like unclean rooms

Overall, the hotel was a reasonable option for my trip. The room had a safe, small refrigerator, and an updated bathroom. The downside was the extra noisy room. While the location is good, it is on a very busy/loud street. I go to NYC often and this was one of the loudest rooms I've had. However, that is the tradeoff for the location.

Giving feedback as a 6 foot 4 person. The beds at this hotel were shorter than normal, by about 6 inches so, my feet just dangled off the bed and It was really difficult to sleep. The front desk person told me that "in NYC, King Size beds are shorter," which was annoying, so I measured It. The beds are around 75 inches, known as a "short king." I also asked to see maybe I can see another room with queen size mattresses, and those too were short, known as "short queens." They do this to make the tiny rooms feel bigger. The rooms I found really cramped, they weren't THAT much smaller than other hotel rooms, but the bed was shorter, the layout was weird, I just was bumping into stuff at every turn. Everything else was fine. If the person at the front desk is reading this, I have since visited 4 friends, and went to a different hotel. They all had king beds, can confirm that king size beds in NYC are not all shorter, just at your hotel.

Small room which you expect in NY, however would be nice to comfortably fit two large suitcases which was a struggle. Air conditioning unit very loud. On 26th floor but could still hear the street noise. Location is good. Bed comfortable.

We booked a double double room and we were only 2 - the wardrobe was so small we had to hang clothes on the window ledge. 7th Floor room 706 and the view was of a brick wall could not see any views of NY and paid £2400 for 5 nights - value for money certainly NOT

The room was tiny!!! Barely any space to move if you have more than one luggage. Also, they didn’t do the afternoon turn on 2 days unless we called so that was a nuisance and one day we had to sleep in an unmade bed :(. So overall an ok experience but not upto standard.

The room is very small. Comfortable bed and good bathroom. The breakfast is not worth, very limited options: no cheese, no nuts, no plain yogurt, etc. I had payed more for a room with view to the Empire State Building, but it was hard to see part of its top from my room (completely different from the picture they use to sell it). The worst aspect was lack of acoustic isolation. Even on the 25th floor the city sirens were heard as inside my room. If you are use Doubletree and Hilton, expect something completely different, lot inferior. Hard to understand how Hilton lent their brand to this property.

Arrived after 9:30 pm very tired front door was locked and staff was rude, check-in guy said "give me your id and credit card in a tone that was not welcoming. Room was small and cold - tried to adjust temp but air in room left me with a headache. Will definitely not stay here again.

Avoid this hotel at all costs. Expedia’s screw-up meant my fully paid reservation for a specific room wasn’t honored. After traveling all day, my spouse and I sat in the lobby for over an hour before getting a key. The “bigger” room they gave us was laughably small — we couldn’t even set our luggage down without bumping into each other. The bathroom? Even smaller. I later saw housekeeping cleaning a room across the hall that was much larger, yet I was told ours was already the biggest available. Requests for basic things like towels, coffee, and toiletries took over an hour each time, and I had to ask twice. And despite me telling staff not to enter my room, they ignored that and went in anyway. When we went to the bar and restaurant on the property, there was literally no one greeting or assisting guests. We stood there for several minutes with no acknowledgment, so we left. To make things worse, Expedia only gave me $140 for the inconvenience — which doesn’t come close to the time, stress, and discomfort this caused. Tiny rooms, slow service, zero respect for guest privacy, nonexistent hospitality, and poor compensation. Never again.

Honestly was quite disappointed as the check in experience was awful. I arrived early and had great experience with the staff that checked in my bag while I explored the city. When I came back for check in, the man who checked me in was very rude. After waiting over 30 minutes for my bag, as I saw those coming in after me already got theirs within a few minutes, I had to go directly to the staff that the bag tags are handed to, just to find the check in staff didn’t give them my bag tag. Before then, the front desk had asked what I was waiting for and I told them my bag and no one went to get it again. The staff that opened the doors and grabbed the bags were very friendly throughout my whole stay and quickly went to get my bag when they realized they hadn’t been given the tag. I noticed this type of service was not the same for anyone else. I was not smiled at, greeted properly, given a free upgrade like others in the elevator received without asking, or even the cookie that’s promised to everyone. The rooms were okay, very small. There were small bugs in the shower. Housekeeping was fantastic otherwise also very friendly. I had stayed here as a friend had recommended it and had a great experience especially with check in but I can’t say the same about my stay.

Property only put 1 water in room when arrived. Got charged for 2 after checking out. Hilton phone rep (who was nice and tried to correct) asked property to refund and property denied, so property did not do right by their mistake and it cost me $. Also, water had tag that said complimentary- maybe explain when people arrive its not actually complimentary - seems shady and have not run into this issued before

I made a reservation more than a month in advance. Upon arrival it appeared that the hotel was oversold and we were put at another (cheaper) hotel for a night. To be frank, they refunded for one night and provided transportation but extra hassle with checking in and out ruined our day. Cannot recommend the hotel as there's a chance of ending up at another property if they decide so.

The open air drug use in front of the hotel entrance is wild. But the hotel always provides a watchman to keep an eye on things and monitor people coming in and out of the hotel. They also periodically wash down the outside seating area because bums and transients lay down on them, causing unsanitary conditions. Overall, a good value for the area all things considered. The Holiday Inn just down the street has much worse going on out in front. I was under the impression that breakfast was included in our stay, but they informed me it’s an additional $27 per person for breakfast each day. The rooftop bar is very nice and offers a great view. All of the staff were very friendly and nice. I would stay here again. Very close to Madison Square Garden and subway stations. Penn station is only a couple blocks away. The beds are also very comfortable and rooms have great air conditioning. Would stay here again.

Clean room, remodeled with a comfortable bed but it faced 8th Ave and it was loud at all hours of the day. If it wasn’t because we took our toddler’s sound machine, it would have been impossible to sleep with the continuous flow of sirens. The neighborhood itself was mostly safe, would not recommend with small children, lots of vagrants and needle usages.

Pros: excellent location, 5 min walk to Penn Station, 7 min walk to the center of Time Square, 20-25 min walk to Central Park. It has a Rooftop Bar with an incredible view (VEU180 Rooftop Bar). Cons: rooms are super small. Hard to walk in the room with two people in it. Overall, my stay was good and would stay here again simply because of the location. It was easy to get to the airport from/to the hotel using the Penn Station via line E.

Nicely located to the Times Square, Maddison Square Garden, Penn station, and many city top spots. The only downfall, this area seemed to have a lot of aggressive homeless and druggies so walking could be sketchy at times until you hit Times Square.

Room was fine and pretty quiet (24th floor). View was a brick wall. Wet carpeting was annoying. Skip the breakfast - coffee was burnt and undrinkable, omlete inedible, weird bad tasting pancakes. All of that after a fifteen minute wait for a table. Not ideal. Not sure there are great options (other than a McDonald's and Dunkin) in the vicinity.

We stayed at this hotel after a concert. It was convenient because it was close and within walking distance to MSG and LIRR. The price was reasonable. When we arrived we were quite impressed with the hotel. It was very welcoming, the room was small but renovated and super clean. The staff were friendly. The restaurant in the hotel was a great benefit. The breakfast was delicious. It was perfect for our one night stay. We would recommend it.

Great location. Love the view and the room. Friendly staff. Unfortunately our tv does not work. Called desk to let them know. Had a wonderful staff member try to fix it with no solution. Rooftop restaurant was great for the view , not for the drinks or service, happy hour does not exist in the summer because having drinks in the winter on the rooftop makes sense and the drinks were horrible.

We did the rate including free breakfast. The selection was good but everyday the food was cold. From eggs to bacon to French toast it all was cold. Staff, location are great and I would stay again but wouldn’t do the included breakfast.
