Hotel Texas Hallettsville

The hotel was very clean and quite and the morning breakfast was nice. We only booked here because they advertised a Hot Tub and to find out it hadn't worked in a long time and they had no plans on fixing it.

We chose this hotel because we were visiting the Shiner brewery that was about 18 miles away and there was a big selection of hotels with hot tubs and a pool, main reason for staying here. When we arrived the employee informed me the hot tub and pull were not functioning and would be looked at 3 days later. The room was humid and did not cool past 72, which was uncomfortable and warm. Overall we made the best of an otherwise uncomfortable stay. They do have a decent patio and sitting area on the outside of the hotel and the area was quiet.

Stayed for a business trip (5 nights) for 3 guys in 3 rooms. Location was convenient and parking allowed 3 large service trucks with no issues.

Beautiful stone building with unique upscale furnishings. Very comfortable setting with trees, large outdoor grill area and pool. We were easily accommodated with an early check in. Unfortunately the experience was cancelled out by the arrival of guests above us at 1:30 AM who banged around and loudly partied until 5 AM.

Very nice back patio out back with tables and chairs to sit and enjoy the countryside.

We enjoyed sitting on the porch out back in the rocking chairs. Clean clear up to the rafters. The room was comfortable, clean, and pleasant. I wish there were TV remote instructions and the channels did not match. The bed was too hard for me. Chad, at the front desk, was very helpful and considerate. I left clothes on the bathroom door. He called me as soon as they found them. We had not left the area and returned to pick them up. He gave us directions to another painted church. Thumbs up from me overall.

The a/c would not cool off, tried another room and same problem but worse. Beds were hard, hot tub didn’t work, breakfast was blah and the room was dirty and smelled like cigarettes.

The room was dirty, the air conditioning unit was moldy and made the whole room smell like mold. Someone next to us was groaning and moaning for hours LOUDLY.

Had to move rooms 3 times. First room poop in shower on wall and bathroom floor sticky like glue. Smelled awful. 2nd room bed was broke and big blood bandaid on the floor. 3rd room had black hair everywhere, crumbs and dirt. Checked out early.

Somewhat older property that could benefit with some updating. There were long, black hairs left on the countertop and the sink was cracked. The picture frame hanging on the wall in the bathroom was coming apart despite the tape that was more than likely used to "fix" it.

We also stay at this hotel, love the property never have had an issue, except this time the sheets smelled horrible, I did see a bug in the room. Hoping this was a one time thing because we love this place

Our second stay here, both times we we’re especially impressed overall with the property. The staff is friendly and efficient and the actual hotel and property is excellent! Visually appealing, exceptionally clean

We have at this locations many time and have enjoyed each and every time and will continue to stay here when we are in town. My only negative is, the mattress is very hard and makes sleeping for multiple nights challenging to get good rest.

Absolutely lovely hotel and the management was super sweet, they recommend the italian restaurant in town(i now also recommend it!) The only thing was how hard the bed was, not my cup of tea but everything else was clean and the AC was wonderful, breakfast was also super tasty! If im ever in the area id happily stay again.

Nice hotel, great location, friendly service, delicious breakfast. Only negative was the bed I slept in was hard as a rock and the pillows were very small. I'm very picky about beds so if you like something firm its probably going to meet your needs, just not mine.

Positive: Hotel staff were friendly and helpful and room was clean. Negative: TV had to be reprogrammed to view. There was an almost empty roll of toilet paper and no backup in room. Closet door fell off wall when opening it. Breakfast was very bland.

Worst hotel I've ever "stayed" at. It took 20 minutes for someone to come to the front desk to check in. On the way to the room, there were dead roaches in the hallway. The mini fridge in the room did not work. The mattress was hard coil springs that was flat on one side. After I complained to the front desk, they just gave me my receipt and said I could leave but would still be charged full rate.

This place is quiet and clean. The people at the front desk are more than average kind they are friendly and want to make your stay as good as possible.

Great Texas feel. Clean room and friendly helpful staff. Driving all day and all we wanted was a comfortable and clean facility. This is the place. Mexican restaurant recommended within walking distance was really good! We would stay here again

Front desk area was nice, clean, and welcoming, the home was nice, the breakfast was adequate, potatoes/eggs were gross, sausage/waffles was good. The tables were not cleaned the person taking care didn't show her face the whole time we were there, didn't refill, I saw her come out as we checked out right before breakfast was over. What really upset me was the fact that Hotels noted special fees for non-service dogs of $15 per pet, per stayonly, but the hotel when I checked in said that they had a weight policy over 15 pounds was $30 per pet. I wasn't able to argue with him because I didn't have the info on hand from Hotels.com. once of the reasons I picked this hotel was because others had a weight limit and they didn't. When I confronted them about the fact that this information wasn't on the fees noted on the booking sight, I was told there was nothing they could do about it. Also, when we went down for breakfast my husband ask the front desk about it, he said it was an unwritten policy, that is not right. They should honor what is on the sight (because that is what people base they're decisions on) and the fact that the can't proof it in writing, makes me believe they make things up as they go.

Bed gave me a backache. Breakfast was disgusting. Entire property was a little dingy and rundown.
