Went for a last minute relaxing birthday weekend. The room is adorable with vintage appliances and glitter floors! We enjoyed kayaking and saw some dolphins while we were out, and soaking in the in room hot tub was exactly what we needed! The only negative was the beds, but that’s just a personal preference because I like a really soft bed. Everything else was absolutely perfect and we are already planning future vista!

It is wonderful that kayaks are provided. As suggested, the short trip to salt springs was perfect. Also the kayak launch provided was very helpful.

Amazing, short, stay. The property was nice, the room was cute and cozy. I stayed in Serenity, and will come back! The spa tub/shower was so relaxing! Highly recommend!

This property was close to everything! Super convenient since we were visiting The Weeki Wachee State Park. It also had water access with free kayak use and boat rental options. The decor was super cute and we loved our stay!

Neptunes Grotto is a taste of Old Florida for sure! Very funky and kitchy. The room was clean but overwhelming air freshener smell. One of the windows had no screen so couldn’t open it at night to get what would have been a nice breeze. Overall enjoyed this place!

It was very nice. Loved all the vintage pcs. I only have two complaints. The showerhead would be great as a hand held. Couldn't rinse the soap off. The shower head is so high and not adjustable at all. Bottom of shower needs safety strips to prevent slipping. Also needs non slip mat when getting out. My husband stepped out on mermaid carpet and it just slipped away. He fell on his knees. He was sore the next morning but is doing okay. The freezer didnt keep our ice cream cold. We had milkshake. The vintage mermaid room is very nice and all the amenities that come with it were super. We will definitely be back in the fall. Thank you for a memorable weekend...

Adorable little hotel, nice and clean, minutes from Weeki Wachee springs park.

While I only stayed for one night, I wish I’d been able to stay longer. Great location, clean, had all I needed and more. Before check out I was able to take one of the kayaks out and explore the area. It was a great time.

Fabulous place! Extremely clean and comfortable, nicely decorated and in a beautiful setting.

The area was great! I love having access to the kayaks and being able to explore the water areas. The room was nice and clean. The only thing that was a problem was the toilet would not flush! We had an issue with it every time when we finally decided just to use the public bathroom on site. Other than that we loved the quaintness of this retreat.

Ac is noisy on top of headboard ! Unfortunately this spot is not for me!

Floors not level hard to walk on. No electricity by the bed for medical equipment. Very uncomfortable bed. Couldn’t stay had to leave after 1 night. After booking 8 nights. Said it was refundable at booking then change it to not refundable after leaving. It didn’t matter it was bad enough I would have forfeit it. It was that bad. I had the pay for another place. Gladly to get out of the muddy mermaid. They were able to book 3 of my nights so I got a 3 day refund.

We were looking for a nice inexpensive place to stay overnight for an event we were attending. I found Neptunes grotto was nearby and the price point is great. The location is right on a canal with a boat dock, very Florida living and very easy to find. One problem for us was the lack of parking. When we arrived there were no regular parking spaces available for us and the lot would not have accommodated our truck and trailer anyway. We had to park on the side of the street, keep this in mind if you are driving a larger vehicle or pulling any kind of trailer. You wont fit. Our room was super cute with its mermaid decorations and it had all the essentials we could have needed. Check in was simple, the door code was emailed to us the morning of our stay and it was easy enough to access our room. The room itself was clean and well kept up. We did notice a slight lean in the floor which can be tricky especially in the bathroom. Our biggest complaint was the very very firm mattress. It was not comfortable and both my husband and I did not get a good nights sleep because it felt like sleeping on a plank. Mattress firmness is a personal preference so it may not bother others like it did us. It would have been nice to have it be a little more comfortable. Overall this place is great, it suited our need for the night and was budget friendly. The area was quiet and felt safe.

Converted fish camp, complete with sloped floors. Owners have put in a lot of time and effort to make this a destination. It's hard to beat walking out of your room, grabbing a kayak and exploring the springs. The road out front was busy but the new windows kept any noise out. A breathable mattress pad between the plastic mattress cover and sheet and more shims to make the bed level would make this place perfect.

What a cool little place! Rooms are not very big, but decorated cheerful and everything you need. Right on the water and not too far from dining. You must go watch the sunset behind the Inn a bit further down the main road.

Loved this cute little place... Perfect setting and atmosphere. I'm not sure about the showers in the other rooms ours was very small. Loved all the homey little touches, and decor accents. Also loved that it was not a chain hotel for more money and bad reviews. We defiantly hope to stay here again. Thank you so much, so glad to have found this pearl!

Enjoyed our stay and nice hospitality. The host ran in and got an extension chord so we could shorten the time needed to charge our bikes. Took a delightful canoe ride through the canals and saw manatee. Great quaint place with everything you need for a comfortable stay. Alicia and Scot 2/25

The place is quaint and cute. Obviously the owner is trying to bring it back to life. However we were to receive an email the day before checking in and did not. It took my husband about 30minutes before getting someone to send us the check in information. My suggestions would be that someone other than Hotels.com be available for check in.

I booked my trip through expedia.com with this location. There was poor communication between Expedia and the location. The location never received payment and I was going to be charged the full amount of the stay over again.. so for the location I don’t know how the rooms are but I know the communication is slack.

We loved staying here. The room was clean and perfect, we stayed one night to kayak the river. The staff on site were so friendly and helpful. The room was simple but decorated so cute. We used the tandem kayak they offered on-site and followed the directions; it was a beautiful paddle. We loved sitting in the chairs watching all the activities and wildlife. We will definitely stay here in the future.

The dock was in poor condition. The bed was against the wall so you had to climb over your mate to get up during the night. Unfortunately we could not stay there. I don’t understand how it could have so many good reviews. The owner or manager was outstanding and was able to move us to another place more suitable for our needs. Our stay ended up being outstanding thanks to his response. We were sad to leave.

This was a great find for us and we will be back. The room is nice and well set up. Neptune's is located in a great setting among nature. Having the free kayaks is a nice touch considering the proximity to the beautiful waterways. The trip out on Cortez blvd is scenic and the pier at the end is a great sunset spot.

The mermaid themed room was well thought out & really made our stay feel unique. There was 1 manatee right off the dock when we arrived Thursday & three more on Saturday morning! What an experience! Plenty of great local restaurants were recommended by the property & we took the time to visit 2 of them. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Neptune's Grotto to anyone looking for a quiet & simple Florida getaway. We definitely are considering returning in the future! Thank yoi for hscing us!

This place was perfect. We took a cup of coffee (coffee and coffee pot provided) and walked along the water. We were greeted by so many manatees and the most beautiful setting. Would highly recommend this place for a night or two on the west coast.

This place is Old Florida at its best. Close to Weeki Wachee Park in a pretty quiet, beautiful setting. Would definitely go there again!

This was a little gem for a weekend get-a-way! The room was clean and decorated very retro and cute! Large shower and jacuzzi tub was amazing after kayaking on the river! A few local restaurant close by. Everything you want for a nice chill weekend !

What a fun little vintage motel! I stayed in the Vintage Mermaid studio (right on the end) and it was adorable. This used to be a fish camp and the floors slope in the back where they used to hose out the rooms. The motel is right on a creek/canal and there is lots of wildlife. I saw manatees! You can use the kayaks on site. Everything is included except no wine corkscrew (I borrowed one from the onsite housekeeper) or hairdryer. The location is perfect for day trips to Weeki Wachee state park and there are great casual restaurants nearby.

This place is the friendliest little getaway on the Gulf side. The Rooms are on the smaller size but very clean and modernized. The management, Tab and John, are great people and are available 24-7 if you need anything. John knows the rivers and will give all of the tips and tricks needed to safely travel the canals on the kayaks that they provide. You can even rent little motor boats or pontoon boats at the best rates that we have seen. Restaurants of all kinds are within a very short drive or you can even boat to several of them. This is definitely not your typical "in the hustle and bustle" of tourism but shopping and water parks are all within minutes if that's what you want. Highly recommended if you are looking for an escape.
