Loved the location, walked downtown to dinner and shopping. Owners were amazing, kind and helpful. They even gave me a cutting of the huge, beautiful, unique plant they had in the check-in area. Room clean and adorable with pristine vintage tile and a working red vintage phone. \Hot tub perfect for a cold off season night!

A well maintained, 75 year old American retro hotel run by very kind folks at the front desk. The room was clean and comfortable and I had an assigned parking spot. Hot coffee in the lobby all day was excellent after long hikes in October. Heater in the room was a tad loud but worked great. Excellent location for visiting the nearby parks and monuments and plenty of restaurants / shops are walkable. Yeah it's probably rated one or two stars by whomever however this traveler enjoys staying at a place with character every now and then as opposed to staying at a big, bland chain hotel.

Great location in Casper. You can walk anywhere and you also get 10% off your bill at a few restaurants by showing your room key. Its a cute retro motel that is super clean. Our beds were comfortable and we had a designated parking space in front of our room. Owners were great and had coffee in the lobby every morning.

This place was great. I will stay here every time I'm in Custer. The room was really clean. The decor is very cute and well done. They have done a great job of updating an older hotel and making it fun.

The app told me I had already paid so when I was confused by the owner asking for payment he got ANGRY with me immediately and berated me. I called customer service and turned out the problem was with the app but the damage had been done because of his treatment of me for just being confused. I wasn’t accusatory or anything. Then I had to spend time trying to talk him into being calm with me. If anywhere else had had rooms I would’ve left. As it was we did leave a night early. My husband went to check us out cause no way I was going back into that office. He told my husband no refunds when my husband didn’t ask for one. And then he added some $20 fee on top of the $491 we had already paid. So we spent 2 nights instead of 3 for $500. And the room was TINY. Bathroom door very squeaky so I had to position it in a way I could get in and sit on the toilet in the night without waking up my husband. It was difficult. The shower is only warm if you turn the hot on all the way with no cold at all. Rooms have regular keys and face the outside so very insecure. And the guy keeps your CC info on a handwritten card with the full number. It’s in the front office and he doesn’t stay in there so anyone could walk in and take them. Would never stay again.

Awesome stay, can't say enough good things about this Motel! It is located in the center of town with restaurants and local shops within walking distance. It is a mid-20th century roadside motel with period correct design elements. The rooms were the cleanest I have seen in a long time, small but very comfortable. The owners were very friendly and accommodating. I would definitely stay here again on a return visit.

This place is so cute! We ended up with a family room because there were singles available. It had a room with a queen bed and then a seperate room with two full size beds. The bathroom was between them. Main room had a little fridge and microwave. The bathroom was retro but very clean and kept. Loved it. It was a bit of a tight squeeze between the sink and the shower to get in but doable.

Loved this unique motel. Check in was very fast and easy. Gentleman was helpful with ice and recommendations for dinner. Great place right across the street. Room was small but very clean and extremely comfortable. Will absolutely stay again.

The cleanliness at this cute motel was top notch. Everything was pristine. The decor was 1950’s style and worked well. It was a chilly night (woke up to frost of the car windows). Our room temperature was 55 F., a good sleeping temp but too cold for a morning shower. The heat apparently wasn’t on yet.

Perfect location for spending time in Custer state park, going to Mount Rushmore, and shopping in Keystone. The room was cute, cozy, and came with a postcard of the motel. If I ever make it back to the black hills I would 100% stay here again.

Owner run, clearly cares about the upkeep and the aesthetics of this retro mid-century motel. The room was in awesome condition, it felt newly built and tidy. I had a great stay and will stay here again should I return. A great stay for a lone wanderer and caravans alike.

A well maintained, 75 year old American retro hotel run by very kind folks at the front desk. The room was clean and comfortable and I had an assigned parking spot. Hot coffee in the lobby all day was excellent after long hikes in October. Heater in the room was a tad loud but worked great. Excellent location for visiting the nearby parks and monuments and plenty of restaurants / shops are walkable. Yeah it's probably rated one or two stars by whomever however this traveler enjoys staying at a place with character every now and then as opposed to staying at a big, bland chain hotel.

This is a cute little motel that has been renovated. The owners are very nice and the amenities they offer are top notch. We were right across from the Mickleson Bike trail and 1-2 blocks from all the restaurants.

Perfect location for spending time in Custer state park, going to Mount Rushmore, and shopping in Keystone. The room was cute, cozy, and came with a postcard of the motel. If I ever make it back to the black hills I would 100% stay here again.

Rocket Motel is retro and so cute! I was doing the Lean Horse 100 mile running race and the motel was a short walk to the start line. The staff are all super nice and accommodating and I really just liked the overall vibe of the place. I stay at a lot of hotels for work and this was a nice break from the chain hotel feeling as it is locally owned , unique, and has very cool neon decor outside.

Some of the parking areas can be a little awkward for a motorcycle but the overall experience is worth it. We would stay here again. Nice walking distance to area shopping and eating.

Loved this unique motel. Check in was very fast and easy. Gentleman was helpful with ice and recommendations for dinner. Great place right across the street. Room was small but very clean and extremely comfortable. Will absolutely stay again.

This was our 2nd time to stay there and we’ll always be back when we visit Custer! Clean, comfortable, and just a super cute little retro room. They don’t have breakfast but there’s plenty of options in the area. Highly recommend!

Great location in Casper. You can walk anywhere and you also get 10% off your bill at a few restaurants by showing your room key. Its a cute retro motel that is super clean. We LOVED our stay at the Rocket Motel! Awesome vintage decor and renovated rooms, very very clean. Comfortable beds. Easy parking. Great location, centrally located & made it easy to walk downtown to stores and restaurants. Beautiful patio that offers outdoor seating. We enjoyed watching the local community parade from the lobby. Hosts were amazing. We’d definitely stay here again and highly recommend if you’re in the Custer area you need to stay at Rocket Motel.
