Pool was disgusting, had to re-key 5-6 times for a 3 day stay. Customer service was dismissive of re-key inconvenience. door kept sticking, no ice machine had to wait for refrig ice to be made. had to complete towel exchange everyday only supplied two bath/hand towels. Overall would not recommend, even with few selections in Harlingen.

The front desk clerk was nice & informative.The room looked like the bed had been made, but hadn't been vacuumed and the floor felt dirty. As we started unpacking we came across quite a few roaches on the desk, counters, wall, and bathroom. There was a roach in the small wash cloth that I was using for my face. I was disgusted and wanted to leave, but I would have had to pay for another room somewhere else and lose my money there as well. So we just had to grin and bear it. Luckily it was only one night. The gym looked dirty and smelled musty like the rest of the hotel.The treadmill looked worn down and wasnt working.The bench was torn and in need of replacement. They really need to have some type of pest control. I would definitely NEVER stay there AGAIN!

The elevator was not working, and we had to walk upstairs. We are both in ours 70's, the front desk receptionist asked if we would like some help, but no one showed up to help. When waking up to take showers there were roaches on the floor in the bathroom. Will not stay at a Candlewood Suites ever again.

I loved that the hotel had complimentary washer & dryer. That helped us out a lot and the male clerk at front was friendly and helped him print out some important documents.

The hotel was dirty, it was muggy and it smelled like mold. There were roaches and other insects. The staff didn’t have clean towels available. The elevator stopped working and had to use the stairs. The smell of marijuana was also in the hotel.

The room was 101 that was given to me. I feel like this is the room that hotel give persons that are only staying one night. These are the rooms that may not be maintained or cleaned regularly and are stale. 1) The bed and sheets smelled stale. 2) The bathroom tub was black from Dirt 3) The bathroom sink water didn’t go anywhere and the drainage handle was stuck and broken. 4) The hotel charged me a different more Expensive price at time of receiving receipt than what the hotel.commhad quoted me. I need to straighten out this matter. 5) They advertize fitness workout room but there are no weights and the fitness universal machine was broken and could not be used. The fitness room Needs to be updated. 6) Overall, I was not satisfied paying the amount paid for My stay at this Candlewood Hotel. Being an IGH hotel , I expected so much more with overall and as I outlined, It aooerared that the hotel need to be upgraded or kept up in so many areas. Thanks for allowing me to provide feedback.

It was a terrible experience. To start the place was super hot like if the ac wasnt on or not working and obvious seems like they didnt care cause they even had a fan in the front desk. Then we go up to our floor where our room is and it smell like a zoo. Our room smell like moister and even saw some roaches around one even in the fridge. The restroom faucet water flow was barely coming out. Next we went out to the pool and guess what pool was dirty and u even felt slime at the bottom. They told us they had a bbq pit we went to store buy to make some burgers we came back and their was no propane gas for the bbq pit. Horrible experience wont come back here again wasnt worth my 280 for two nights

This place was by far the worst place I’ve ever booked! There were so many things I could point out but I will just mention the main reasons of not to stay there. 1.the whole building had a really bad stench to it especially throughout the hallways it literally smelled like a dirty hamster cage! 2. The walls in the room looked dirty and it had patches of different colors like if there was unfinished work there, this place is in need of a paint make over , the tub looked dirty and unclean. 3. The worst thing was that you could feel moisture in the air the whole room and bedding felt damp not a good feeling at all ! I wish I would have read the reviews before I booked here!! Please avoid this place at all cost , I’ve had better experiences at a 1 star hotel this is unacceptable on their end.

The room was dirty, from the bed sheets to the restroom. And the restroom faucet barely had any water pressure. Had to wash up with the kitchen sink. Then the elevator stopped working and had to carry my luggage down four floors.

After traveling 4hrs and getting checked in, pulled back covers of the bed to find mounds of shaved pubic hairs. Unsafe, unsanitary, and just gross. It’s 11pm at night, and front desk(Talia) was very accommodating in moving me to another room. However the manager I’m duty kept retesting that the room had been cleaned almost insinuating that I planted the hair. I think a refund is in order for at least one night. But I doubt anything will come of this complaint. I have the pictures.

Very run down and dirty hotel. The lobby and hallways floors were full of stains and trash. The room was dirty with roaches, everything metal was rusted, and all the floor corners were full of dirt build up and trash. The hallways and rooms reeked of humid carpet, beds the same.

It was nice having a kitchenette. The room was extremely damp ; the first night I got there I seriously thought the sheets and comforter simply needed more time in the dryer , but over the next 2 days I noticed EVERYTHING was damp and showed signs of mold.

The whole hotel, especially our room, was humid. The excess humidity in the room caused all of the furniture to be moist. It was very hard to get comfortable in the room, because everything felt so dirty. We didn’t even sleep under the covers because the mattress felt so wet. We slept on top of the sheets. Additionally we could not use the pull out couch as bed because the mattress was disgusting. The bathroom was very dirty as well. Very disappointed in the stay.

This entire hotel is a hot mess!!! From all hotels we’ve booked with this site this was by far the worst. We got put in a different room than what was reserved. When we contacted management about it, he moved us to another room with a broken air conditioner. We talked to front desk about having somebody fix the AC and she said that there was nothing wrong with it, but would have somebody fix it. When we came back that evening, nothing was done. The entire night was completely uncomfortable and hot. We asked to be moved into a different room and they told us all they had available was double beds. We were told that We could either take a double bed with a working AC or the king bed with a broken AC. It was a disaster all the way around. I will never stay here again.

The room was nice and big. The only things were minor. Like the A/C worked but didn’t allow us to change it. One Stove top wasn’t working, bathroom lights flickering. But overall it was a very comfortable and big room. Had lots of utensils and pillows.

The location was good as we were meeting with the other family members at another hotel. When we checked in, I wish we were told that there is no maid service unless we requested the service. After a couple of days, I went down to request clean towels, and not all towels were available.

Room did t have all the amenities it was promised to have. The front desk female clerk had me chasing housekeeping for towels. Room was t cleaned the following day. The shampoo/conditioner and soap bottles were empty and despite calling twice to have them refilled, they weren’t. Left message to have a manager call and no one ever did. Asked for Area Manager info and was declined that information.

Stayed at the Harlingen location by the expressway. Our room had a kitchenette, microwave, fridge, dishwasher, toaster, big bathroom and very comfortable bed. Close to LOT'S of restaurants and 2 hospitals everything within 5 minutes, quiet area. Will definitely stay here again in the future, 5 of 5 stars!

I recently stayed at this hotel, and unfortunately, the experience did not meet my expectations. Upon arrival, the reception area gave a poor first impression—it looks run-down and poorly maintained, which immediately creates a sense of discomfort. Overall, the property shows clear signs of wear and a lack of proper upkeep. Both the common areas and some service zones are in need of urgent renovation. The hotel does have potential, especially given its good location, and the staff was courteous during my stay. I truly hope they invest in the necessary improvements soon, as it could offer a much more pleasant experience with better maintenance.

there were roaches in the bath and on the wall in the room, a long black hair in the bath and a pot on the stovetop with crusted on food and the bed was hard as a rock. They do not offer breakfast at all and their stock of items to sell was very poor. That being said it was in a good area and it was quiet and staff were polite. However i expected more from an IHG hotel. There are multiple others in the area just as good and some better for much less money

This place is not a good place for families to stay its more for business personal to be on the job and would have to your own meals to cook for your self it's like staying in someone's apartment The amenities are poor everything is under lock and key there wear bugs in room and the bed uncomfortable not worth my 3 night stay spent most of my time with friends to stay away from the room only to sleep in (PS not even a continental breakfast )
