👍Overall good .. But the pool was dirty. Should maintain pool water . Other than all good.

We loved the property for the stay but the gym was a big disappointment. It was unsafe to have more than one or two people at a time because of the space size and the proximity of the equipment to each other. the equipment was extremely low quality and some of it was broken or needed upgrading.

I specifically booked the hotel based on the amenities that were listed (bus/RV parking, restaurant, bar/lounge, breakfast). When we arrived at the hotel with our 12 foot trailer in tow and asked where the large parking stalls were we were told there actually aren’t any and it’s just first come first serve wherever you can find something to fit into. Since we arrived at 6:30 pm Wednesday and it had been a long day of driving we wanted to enjoy a drink in the lounge and then have dinner in the restaurant. We looked for the lounge only to find a sandwich board sign showing lounge hours on Fridays and Saturdays. I asked at the front desk and was told that’s the only time the lounge is open. We then went to the room instead to freshen up for dinner. In the room was a menu for the restaurant which had restaurant hours listed for all week and I noticed it had the same name as the lounge. I went back down to the front desk to ask where the restaurant was. I was told it’s the same as the lounge and only open on the weekends. Absolutely nowhere online through Expedia or through the hotel website did it say weekends only! We now had nothing to drink or eat. To top it all off when we went back to the room again and went into the bathroom we found it had not been cleaned. There was dried pee from another guest all over the toilet and floor. Unfortunately before I could get a picture my elderly mother wet some toilet paper and tried to clean it up herself! Unacceptable!

Really enjoyed the pool with its water slide, hot tub and swimming pool combination. Check-in was quick and straightforward. We got a room right beside the pool; which worked well with kids and a small pup. The breakfast had eggs, bacon, pancakes, yoghurt, breads, fruit and juice; simply delicious . We would stay again.

Pretty good value here. Comfy beds, pool with waterslide, hot tub as well.

The pool and waterslide were amazing! My grandkids loved them. Great breakfast too.

Hot tub is just a warm bath tub. Jets do not work. Breakfast was ok. Hotel was not busy but very little hot breakfast items

It causes a bit of concern that one of the two elevators was out of service as busy as the hotel was. We are not readily able to use stairs. Luckily were were able to use the elevator. Maybe a sign at the check in desk advising of the equipment problem could have allowed us to have a ground floor room if available. Just a thought!!

Great stay. Easy check in, clean rooms with very good A/C. A/C is quiet and cold. Gym is well equipped and the pool is a good size. Waterslide is very fun. Highly recommend. 5 stars

Shower floor was dirty, such that I didn't want to shower in the morning. Why shower and get dirty?

The staff were great, its the bathroom was pretty grimy. Not clean at all in the bathtub, people can pick up fungus or bacteria from a dirty bathtub.

Always clean with happy and friendly staff. Stay here every time we are in Red Deer

Upon check-in i found the experience quite pleasant overall. The staff member great until she got to the part where she mentions the hotel amenities, thats where she lost me as it was clear she has done it hundreds of times, and it was far too fast to pick it all up. The lobby was nice and neat and the hotel appeared clean overall. I spilled some water on the carpet and took a small towel to mop it up and thats when i realized how terrible the carpet was. Extremely dirty without any effort on the cloth. Then after an hour of moving around and unpacking my wife noticed her new white socks where black on the bottom from the floor. Unacceptable and i had no time to address it with the staff on the way out unfortunately. There was also long black hair in the bathroom sink, definitely not ours LOL. There are many hotels in Red Deer, and we noticed in the evening there appeared to be a lot of workers and trucks in the parking lot. Maybe they dont mind the dirt, but not for us. I did not have breakfast which was included.

Average hotel, showing a lot of wear for it’s age, feels cheap but it is cheap so expected that. Our issues arised the morning after our first night there when I realized we were sleeping in used sheets with makeup and hair all over them (I was not wearing make up and hair colour doesn’t match ours). We asked the housekeeper if she could change out linens when she made up the room as they were not fresh. She said yes. We came back to the room in the afternoon and they hadn’t made up our room. We then spoke to the front desk, explained the situation who apologized and assured us they would be changed before we came back from dinner. We came back from dinner to a made up room only to discover they just remade the bed with the old used linens. Went back down and just asked for new sheets to make the bed ourselves, obviously not trusting them at this point to make it fresh. We also paid for a room for 5 people, the room only has 2 queen beds. When we asked where the 5th person sleeps they said we had to pay $10 a night for a roll away. This wasn’t mentioned anywhere and we paid extra already for the 5th person.

This was the dirtiest hotel I have seen all week and it was one of the newest in the Red Deer area. The carpet was stained and stains on the towels and beds. The room smelled and didn’t feel fresh at all. Very small and tight. I was glad it was only one night, but the staff were friendly. We came early before checkin and the kids were able to use the pool.

This hotel is clean and comfortable, good breakfast, quiet rooms.

Very clean overall, nice staff , good breakfast . the only thing i can pick is the bathtub drain seems clogged up or not draining fast enough. We took a shower after checking in with 2 inches of water in it. Overall good experience.

Enjoy staying at this property. A few suggestions, some of the towels in the bathroom need replacing. Remote for TV was very dirty. The need for continued cleaning on high touch areas due to it being flu and Covid season is important.

Good stay but tv is extremely small and water pressure in the shower was pretty gentle. Beds seemed small for queens. Comfortable and clean hotel for a great price.

The showers sucked. Not having a door on the shower was in convenient when you are sharing the room.

The mattress was terrible so we had very poor sleep. We could feel the bed springs in our backs and woke up with terrible back pain. Staff was absent at the desk for check out, had to call the landline to get someone to come to the desk to check out after waiting for 10 minutes. Will certainly not go back

Rooms are small but clean and renovated. Soundproofing is non-existent. Highly recommend a sound machine. Beds are really comfortable. Pool, slide and hot tub are best I have seen at a hotel without being a fancy resort.

Room was fine, but place was very noisy.

My room was right beside the elevator and the head of the bed was against the wall where the elevator shaft is. So every time the elevator moved it was very loud and effected my sleep. You should discount this room.

Our air conditioner wasn’t working and the young desk staff I believe her name was Angelica said she could give us another room. We were on motorcycles and it had rained all day so we had all of our stuff spread out through the room so we asked if she had a fan. She found a fan and cleaned it off for us. Very pleased that she went above and beyond to accommodate us

This might be our favourite hotel in Alberta. They staff are phenomenal. Polite, kind, helpful, accommodating. Check in via the email I got was a breeze. They held our luggage for a few hours, and allowed us a late check out in the morning. Breakfast is 10/10 and goes until 10 am. We really appreciate that! The room photos are deceiving. While it's not a great colour choice (all the brown) the rooms are new and modern. Some of the photos look like the rooms are drab and old. That's not the case. The pool is clean and in good repair. There are so many awards posted at the front desk and in the lobby. They've earned each one. I hope they treat their staff well. We will definitely be back!

The staff was great

I had to call the front desk about a rowdy group in the room next to ours. They said they would call and come to check but nothing was done. I called at 10:30 and 12:30 and nothing changed. They were drinking and loud until 2am. So unfortunate. The beds were hard and breakfast was midiocre.

Great service all around. Breakfast area was very well stocked and staff was diligent about cleaning tables and refilling food and drinks promptly. First hotel I have been to since COVID that provided full housekeeping services every night. Much appreciated.

Overall it was good. Just when I showed up, there was no one at the front desk and had to wait 2-3 mins to be looked after. There was no bell to ring.

This hotel is in a good and accessible location. With a variety of shopping and dining options.

Front desk/check-in was prompt, courteous and very helpful. Restaurant suggestions provided were great. Room was clean, comfortable and quiet. Conveniently located close to major highway and ring road, restaurants and services.

It was very close to the Westerner Park. Easy to get to and from each morning.

Was perfect for walking to my event and nice to have BPs in the parking lot.

Nice clean hotel. Hopefully it is maintained and stays like that for a long time. Easy to get to and get to get out of town. Lots for food options within walking distance. Good stay.

Need regular glass cups that are microwaveable, paper cups don’t do it. Breakfast needs improvement.

Breakfast was poor. Eating off plastic tables etc. TV's did not have the ability to stream. Not great value for the money.

Everything was ok apart from the bed, 4 different types of pillows and duvet is super thin like a sheet. Breakfast a very low standard. Plastic forks and paper plates and ultra ultra processed food

This was our second time staying at the Microtel and we will definitely choose this hotel again, the breakfast is great and the room was very clean. We needed extra blankets and the gentleman and the front desk was great and gave me 2 just in case.
