Our stay was great. The staff was friendly and helpful and my room had a great view of the beach as well as a balcony, which is exactly what I was looking for. The pool was terrific and the swim up bar was an added bonus. The elevator was a little sketchy at times, apparently the main guest elevator wasn’t working so we were using the staff elevator during our stay. Great location, close to restaurants. I would definitely stay here again and recommend to other.

Room was not ready when we arrived, but staff made sure we knew we could enjoy the guest-only pool until it was. Very friendly & helpful staff. Only issue…the guest elevator was out of service. All guest used the small service elevator and the wait was long at times.

We have stayed there numerous times and the last 2-3 times at least elevator has been shut down which has caused a lot of issues, waiting time, etc. Also the overall appearance inside and out has regressed.

We chose the Doubletree based on the reputation. Upon arrival we found out that elevator was not working so all guests had to use the very small service elevator. Apparently it has been out since January. There was a line and a 15 min wait to get to the lift. We were awoken by false fire alarm at 5:15 am. Room was small and dirty. No microwave. Pool was dirty. Not what you expect from Doubletree. Plenty of nicer places to stay. Not here.

First i want to say that the employees at this hotel are exceptional. Every person we encountered was very friendly, welcoming, and had a smile on their face. They truly make the stay enjoyable. The location is conveniently located across the beach, plus within walking distance of shopping and dining. One thing worth noting as our only complaint is the elevator. It was actually a running joke of visitors because each time we needed to use it, there were always others waiting as well. It seemed to be the only functioning elevator so it took awhile to be able to use it. We gave up waiting a couple times and used the stairs.

The pictures make the property 10 times better than what it actually is. The property also had a terrible odor the whole time I was there. Worst thing about this hotel is the fact they have one elevator. There were so many times I was waiting in literal lines to get on the elevator. The pool was nice but aside from that I wouldn’t ever stay here again.

Our room was filthy, there was food & broken glasses underneath the edge of our bed with an inch of dust on it so it had clearly been there a while, we found it when we dropped the remote. One of elevators weren’t working so everyone was limited to one that took a long while to get anywhere. The pool & bar were nice but that’s about all I recommend from this place.

Enjoyed the view of the beach. It was nice having the beach within walking distance. The room was spacious and clean. The only issue was it would take several tries to open our room with the key card. I informed the staff when checking out that they may need to have someone checjk the lock.

The property was nice, right across from the beach. We left a day early though because the beds were so soft they killed our backs. We couldn’t sleep well there at all! There was not even a good sitting chair in the room.

This place is amazing a little older but a great place to stay. The beach is literally across the street the pool and tiki bar right outside your window. The only real issue we had was the room smelt a bit musty but not enough to make us change rooms. We will be staying there again in the near future.

We rented the most expensive room at this hotel. The balcony was much smaller than expected and it was constantly wet and therefore unusable for sitting outside. The floor on the balcony was like slippery and not safe to walk on. The room was extremely smaller. The description of the room indicated that there would be a bathtub, there was not. The door to the balcony had a one inch opening that would not close, even after the door was locked. The staff was great but please don't believe the pictures. They are very exaggerated and do not honestly represent the hotel on the inside.

Room was good size we had the corner room with balcony, sadly the long blinds on the door where bad one went up partly the other was broken so couldn’t really see the great view of the sea. The balcony furniture cushions were very mouldy didn’t want to sit on them. But room was clean and bed comfortable . Hotel rooms a bit outdated .

Overall a good location for walking along the Seawall and beach. The comfort of the room was average because the balcony light stays on all night without the ability to turn off. The blinds do not provide enough cover so the room had too much light at night. The a/c unit was noisy and the toilet ran.

Service by staff was incredible. An example is when our Air Conditioner was not working, someone came right away and diagnosed the problem in minutes. Then, to my surprise, said it would be replaced within the hour, and it was. Everyone we delt with was the same. Adding they were all friendly, courteous and seemed to be happy at work. As I said, incredible.

My wife’s very pricey shoes got stolen out of our room when house keeping cleaned. We approached the front desk to report it. They said they could not do anything about it. So we called the police to file a report. The officer was very nice. When he asked the hotel if they had a log of who cleaned that day and who was in our room the hotel informed him that the have no log. So he requested video surveillance. The hotel then said the don’t have camera on the floor we stayed on. We never got the shoes back and staff was rude after this happened. We will never stay here again in any city we visit.

For this to be a Doubletree Hilton, it was rundown. There was only one elevator working that could fit 4 people. We took the stairs on numerous occasions because it took so long. The service at the swim-up bar took forever to acknowledge you but once they did they had decent service and the food and drinks were good. Lastly, the room was outdated and had tiny bugs crawling on the nightstand. I tried to call room service, but the phone didn't work (I wasn't surprised). I will definitely stay somewhere else next time I visit Galveston.

Absolutely terrible, the ac didn’t work and they wouldn’t send anyone to fix it or tell us how to fix it, any other hotel would have accommodated us or tried to fix the problem. We were told there was nothing they could do about it, my husband was running a fever and just needed the room to be cooler. We weren’t offered any of the famous cookies even though every other guest checking in got some. But to be told that there was nothing they could do with out even trying to find a solution was just wrong. We won’t be going back. Overpriced room for crappy customer service!! 😠

Overall, the state was OK, however, we waited three hours for our room assignment, which was done one week prior to arrival. We had to wait one hour after official check in for a room that should have been done and completed one hour before our official check-in custodial did a very poor job, in my opinion of prioritizing and getting our room available and ready by the 4 PM online website check in time we were provided some incentives to offset that inconvenience, but custodial staff was seen talking in socializing in the hallways and then janitorial carts, not moving from one room for over one and 1/2 hours on the fifth floor.

We arrived on Sunday the first and we left on Thursday, 5th of June we were greeted by a lady that was absolutely amazing kind interacted with my granddaughter. The staff was amazing from the top to the bottom from the bottom to the top. I have nothing but amazing things to say about this property. I’ve stayed there a few times before I love it. Well, kept nice rooms. Clean the properties beautiful. I definitely will be going back.

The hotel was super good, perfect location on seawall Blvd , very close to the pleasure of pier. We stayed in a room with a balcony and the view was mind blowing. The staff was very pleasant and courteous especially Emmanuel and Hope.

The AC had a strange sound to it but it cooled very well and the sound didn’t bother us after we went to sleep. Loved the balcony. The check in and check out staff were so friendly and pleasant to deal with. The food at the Longboard Pool Bar was good with an excellent beach viewi. We had a good stay and would stay again.

We stopped overnight before our cruise. The rooms were nice and clean. It rained most of the afternoon so we were not able to use the beautiful pool. The bartenders were fun though. Disappointed that there really wasn't a restaurant though. Grab food at the bar.

The properties restaurant was SO good, really! The burgers where amazing ans the FRIED PICKLES, the best!! The bed was SO comfortable!! The only reason i gave 4 stars, due to the slow elevator and the room smelled funny.

Straight to the point, breakfast should always be included in your stay, especially when the sister property 1mile down the road that’s significantly cheaper is, and is “all you can eat” but there needs to be a sign in the front lobby that advertises the pricing $16 bucks a per before entering just so there isn’t any surprises, which is the only reason for this review! It’s not about the money, especially after paying over $500 for our stay(s) also, there shouldn’t be any parking fees, “per day” especially if it’s on property itself, that one rubs me the wrong way, and again, when the sister property 1mile down the road Tru by Hilton is free. I understand this place is advertised as a resort but come on, let’s be real, still a glorified hotel that has a pool with a swim up bar that serves food and drinks. There is a detached fitness center that clearly looks to be something that wasn’t part of the hotel at one time. Overall. The rooms, hotel was clean and the staff was really nice. The balcony was great. Would I stay here again, yes, when I’m not charged for parking on their lot and maybe some type of voucher for 1 time use for breakfast or… it just be free for crying out out loud.

The pool was dirty someone threw up I did notify staff they just looked at it didn't try to have it cleaned up. The breakfast was outstanding the staff was very nice and attentive
