This is a 7-story building filled with apartments for short-term rental. It is in a large parking lot shared with one or two similar apartment buildings, about a 15 minute drive from downtown Reykjavik. Out studio apartment was very comfortable, the bed was great, but the kitchen a little antiquated--it was hard to control the heat on the electric stovetop and oven. There are a free washer and dryer on every floor. There is no staff on-site, but the management is very responsive -- you can reach them by email through Expedia, or be telephone. We had a couple problems during our stay, but with one exception they were quickly resolved. That one exception was not their fault -- the local water department had an accident so that there was no water supply for one day. The management did keep us reasonably informed, and they agreed to refund one day's rent for the inconvenience. I think it would be very inconvenient to stay here without a car, and you do not get to walk to the sites and restaurants of downtown Reykjavik. On the other hand, you can cook and wash your clothes, and it is very easy to drive either into town or out into the countryside to see various sites. And it is very comfortable. We would stay here again.

Great place to stay. Only negative is the digital access. The Door in stairwell that was open during the day, closed at night had some sort of faulty access situation and kept going into alarm.

We tried to contact someone about not being able to use Netflix. It was hard to get ahold of someone. When I did they said they would resolve the issue and call me back. They did not do either. We also had the fire alarm go off which evacuated the building. Someone showed up right away. What I found odd was that he let everyone go back to there rooms without doing a check of the building and informing everyone.

The property was in a great location. The only think I didn't like was the fire alarm went off twice. Once in the morning around 10am, which we didn't mind. The other one was at 3am, which was very annoying & woke everyone up.

Positives. This location is close to several areas for tourist attractions, but I do recommend having a vehicle if going in the winter. There is a Bònus Grocery a short distance from the property. Wait time for staff is about 5-10 minutes when answering concerns or asking for information. There is a washer/dryer in the hallway on each floor. Could use improving. There are a limited amount of Netflix accounts. If the place is packed, somebody gone be mad and bored. Learned the hard way when I had to cancel plans due to weather and wanted to binge on Netflix. Nothing doing. Emailed the team, and that's that. No resolve. If going in winter, be careful when walking/driving in the parking lot. There was no snow removal in the area of Blue Mountain Apartments during my time there. There is no ventilation in the apartments. Cook and open the windows. Whatever you cook will be there for the length of your stay. A little dusty, but after purchasing some cleaning supplies, I had it to my standards in no time. The apartment had everything although there is questionable staining above the one window and lots of moisture around the window. Kitchen table has lots of scuff/tear marks in it which does not give the impression of care for furniture. Coffee provided are open and not individually packaged or sealed. The spare duvet for the pullout couch was also stained :( Water is hot and great pressure. Safe location

We booked two nights but we didn’t even stayed there the first night. The apartment was not clean (the floor didn’t get cleaned for a while) . We got locked out of our apartment when we reached someone, they said the room was not at our name . They double booked the room to ann Guy. All our luggage were inside. Another guy was in the lobby speaking Spanish so we tried to explain that the room they were giving him was already ours and all our luggage were there. He got really angry and started yelling at us. We never saw a violent person like this. We were really scarred. We finally got a code for the apartment. We got our luggage and left immediately. We didn’t feel safe at all. Our 6 year old was really scared and we had to reassure him for 2 days… a real nightmare.

There was a very unpleasant smell upon entering the unit. Housekeeping provided spray but it would’ve been nice if they could’ve open the windows to air out the odor. Odor lingered for the entire duration of my stay.

We stayed at 3 different properties while we were in iceland, two nights at each place. This was by far the best place. While there were no places that were dirty anywhere in the country, this place was the most clean. Very nice views. The only thing I had issues with the entire trip was the complete lack of USB ports anywhere. I ended up charging my phone off of the back of the TV at every hotel. I did bring a multi USB charger but it was a US plug which I could not plug in anywhere. Anyways, this was our favorite place to stay in Iceland and we will stay at this place on the future visits. Thank you!

The apartment is clean, cozy and it has everything we need for a week stay. Property mgr responded to my questions immediately. I asked for an earlier check-in, and for more laundry detergent. They have washer and dryer in each floor. The bed was comfortable. Parking was easy. Bonus grocery is nearby.

The toilet was so dirty when we arrived. We called and it was supposed to be cleaned by a cleaning lady the next day but it was so gross that my husband cleaned it himself. The laundry detergent was so low that it was supposed to be refilled the next day after our call but it was only refilled after 2nd call.

The property is very mondern, warm and had all the amenities to get you started and finished for the day. Plenty of parking outside which was very helpful and some good shops nearby such as bonus for general food bits. The downside for me is the noise, i am a light sleeper and could hear other guests doors closing when they came in and out of their apartments but this happened around 3 or 4 times. There is also a main road outside the apartments and this can be heard inside the apartment itself but will go quiet after 11:30pm and would not get noisey until 7am or 8am. Overall the team that run it are fantastic and so helpful and very responsive, we loved the sofa bed also, really comfy. Overall, The only downside for me was the advertised "soundproof" room which for me wasnt true but overall i could easily get to sleep after 11pm.great place to stay at a great price only 17 minutes out of town great for couples also.

The corner windows were perfect for watching new years eve fireworks displays. Free parking was easy and there were always spots available. Very clean, spacious, comfortable. I highly recommend this apartment.

My fiancé and I stayed at these apartments for 4 nights. The apartment itself was very easy to find and check in and out was a breeze. We were located on the 5th floor and enjoyed our view of the mountains. The apartment itself was perfect for the two of us. The bed and pillows were comfortable. The apartment was very clean upon arrival. The kitchen space is small but has everything you need to cook small meals (1 pot, 1 pan, 1 oven baking pan). They provide espresso pods which were delicious!! Overall the apartment is very quiet however one morning my fiancé was woken up at 6am by the loud gym class. This only happened one morning and honestly wasn't too too bad. The location of the apartment is awesome. Close enough to downtown Reykjavík and very convenient if you’re going down to the south coast or the golden circle. There is a grocery store across the street and a N1 self serve gas station close by which we found to have the cheapest gas in the area. Overall we really enjoyed our stay and would recommend this property to anyone coming to Iceland

It was great! Beds were comfy, the apartment was spacious, we had everything we needed. Plenty of parking and few grocery stores/eating places within 5 min or less. Definitely recommend!

Lovely well maintained and clean apartment which served as a great base for our Iceland adventure. Only drawbacks would be noise. When lobby doors close they slam shut and it vibrates the walls. If you have heavy footed guests above you then you’ll hear thudding around. The building is also attached to a gym with zero thought to acoustics. They have 6am spin classes and were woken by really loud music a few times. The Blue Mountain staff are really helpful though and the gym did turn the music down a little. It is pretty quiet between 11-6 and I suspect if you’re on one of the upper floors you probably won’t hear the gym music in the mornings.

Sehr laute Unterkunft. Wer gerne um 5.45 Uhr am Morgen durch laute Musik und auf den Boden fallende Medizinbälle geweckt werden möchte (spinning Kurs im Fitnesscenter im Erdgeschoss), sollte buchen. Für einen 6 tägigen Aufenthalt stand uns nur ein Handtuch pro Person zu. Schade, denn die Unterkunft selbst wäre schön und gut ausgestattet. Kostenloser Parkplatz steht zur Verfügung

Property is nice and would stay here again during a time when there is darkness at night. There are window blinds but does little to block out light. Room definitely needs curtains to block out light in windows since the sun does not go down in the summer. Hard to sleep when the room never gets dark. Room seemed noisy but couldn’t tell if it was inside the building or outside. Maybe some remodeling going on. Could definitely use some sort of fan to move air on the warmer days. Even with windows open it can get pretty warm.

The room was clean. However, there is a gym directly underneath who do not care about the fact that it is a residential building. They BLAST music from 06:00 in their spin classes, as well as people slamming balls from the same time right up until 22:00. I was wearing earplugs and it still woke me up! I would not recommend if you want a good night’s sleep.

We never saw a violent person like this. We were really scarred. We finally got a code for the apartment. We got our luggage and left immediately. We didn’t feel safe at all. Our 6 year old was really scared and we had to reassure him for 2 days… a real nightmare.
We booked two nights but we didn’t even stayed there the first night. The apartment was not clean (the floor didn’t get cleaned for a while) . We got locked out of our apartment when we reached someone, they said the room was not at our name . They double booked the room to ann Guy. All our luggage were inside. Another guy was in the lobby speaking Spanish so we tried to explain that the room they were giving him was already ours and all our luggage were there. He got really angry and started yelling at us. I stayed for a week and will definitely be back! Easy check-in, all the amenities I needed. Grocery right across the street. I had easy access into downtown as well as not having to fight traffic to get out of town to the countryside. Staff were quick to respond to any questions or requests I had. No noise issues and felt very safe.

Property is suitable for families, it closes to a famous grocery store called Bonus and about 10-15 mins to local restaurants. Room is big and clean, it looks new. This is a self check-in/check out apartment. It does not have a front desk. Property manager supposed to send you an email containing check-in instructions, room number, and access code one day before you arrive. In my case Property manager hadn’t sent me the email for some reason. I realized I was in trouble only when I was at the door, I couldn’t access the building because I don’t have the access code. I eventually got the room# and access code with the help of Aya, she was the housekeeper of the property on that day. The other issue is that on the last two days of our stay. The fire alarm occasionally triggered, it was annoying.

Fantastic place to stay in Reykjavik area. We stayed for 5 nights and loved it. ✅ Location: A bit tugged away from the city centre of Reykjavik, great if you are looking for some privacy and direct access to route 1. ✅ Apartment: We stayed in one of the Deluxe Corner Apartments which are worth the extra money due to big glas windows with direct view on the mountains. ✅ Staff: Both via email and directly on site, the staff was extremely friendly and helpful. ✅ Kitchen: Very well equipped with all cooking utensils you need. ✅ Bathroom: Modern bathroom with a nice open shower (shampoo and conditioner were provided) 🆗 Bedroom: Cozy, a bit separate from the rest of the apartment. It's nice when something comes as advertised. I would suggest you need a rental car to stay here but it was easily within 15 minutes of downtown Reykjavik while also being close to every road out of town toward adventure! Good communication from management, easy in and out and just right for a family of three to not be cramped. I was extremely pleased with this facility.

Our flight to Iceland was cancelled due to airplane having mechanical issues. At 5 hours past our departure time when we knew the flight was cancelled, I contacted the property to let them know we needed to cancel. We never received any acknowledgement, just repeated automated messages like we were still showing up. The airline, the car company - everyone worked with us to cancel our reservations as this was an airplane mechanical issues. The apartment company is the only one that refused to. We still continued to receive automated messages as if we were staying in the apartment. Not sure what the facilities are like, but when it comes to customer service, this seems to be a conveyor belt setup, where everything is automated, and no one bothers to read your communications or help you out. I guess customer service is not really a thing for Iceland tourism.

Stayed at the property a number of times now in the last 12 months & always leave with a positive memory of the place. Recommended to friends & family alike as the price is so competitive & staff make it as hassle free as possible. The location is amazing for access to Route 1 for road trips, a gym, one of the cheapest supermarkets in the city & a great bistro. On this occasion staff were kind enough to replace a kettle we had an issue with that very same morning. Can't fault the place at all & will always be a go to choice when returning to Iceland!

Great place to stay. Property had a small kitchen and fridge. Place was nice and clean. Absolutely loved coffee place next doors. Parking with plenty at any part of a day. 15 min away from Reykjavik.

It’s a nice place but very hot in the apartments if the sun is out and it’s a nice day (which isn’t that often, but when it is be ready for a hot room). The staff communicated very well and were pleasant. The apartments are self serviced so don’t expect any cleaning service etc. We enjoyed it. The location is a bit out of town but a small supermarket close by, a nice bistro across the street, and two gyms to choose from (we chose World class).

Great location to navigate to a ton of places on the island or the city. Well-stocked and convenient to multiple grocery stores so we were able to eat or pack a travel lunch to road trip the island for as long as we wanted. Communication was good. Great value for the size and views.

Nestled in a quiet area a short drive from Reykjavik, Blue Mountain Apartments was the perfect staging ground for our stay in Iceland. The apartment was clean, cozy, and completely quiet despite being close to roadways. On-site amenities were appreciated. We felt at home in just a short time. Highly recommended if you want to shop at the local grocery just 5 minutes walking away and cook your own meals. We had some small issues with the television, but our stay was focused on travel and experiences, so TV wasn't missed. Excellent, excellent lodging option for staying a few days in Reykjavik, Iceland. I reserved two apartments for me and my wife and our two friends. The management was very understanding and let us check in early as the apartments were ready early. A great surprise to us was that SkAlli restaurant across the street served excellent pizza and they were reasonably priced.

The apartment was on the larger side and had a well equiped kitchenette. The beds were comfortable, as was the pull out sofa bed. We were there for 5 nights and thought the location was perfect for driving to Reykjavik and The Golden Circle. Bonus, a discount grocery store, and a bakery/coffeehouse is close by. Parking was free. There is a gym on the first floor, so if you are light sleeper or want to sleep past 6am, be sure to insist on an apartment on the top floors. The management was very attentive and even contacted us when they thought we had left something in the room. We would stay there again.

The property was great to stay at that I even extended. It’s close to Bónus which is one of the cheaper supermarkets as well as a fresh bakery next to it. Bus stop close by making travel easy. The property also has an eye watering view of the mountains which I never got tired of. Will book here again when I return!
