Ideally located for us as visiting family that live in Charlton Kings and didn’t want to stay in central Cheltenham where most hotels don’t have dedicated parking. The room however felt a bit dated and the mattress was very soft and uncomfortable. My husband resorted to sleeping on the floor for a couple hours the last morning.

Hotel is on the east edge of Cheltenham on the A40. Which means that it is easy to find and has lovely countryside on its doorstep. It is a short drive into the town and there are buses nearby. But it is also noisy, depending on which room you have. I could not get out of the main door in the morning. There was no obvious way to unlock it and I had to open the fire door, which was obviously unsafe. It is set up as a contactless hotel, so you need not interact with the staff, though I did meet one guy when I arrived and he showed me to my room. Room and bathroom were spacious, well furnished and clean.

Hotel is on the A40 on the east edge of Cheltenham. Bus routes to town center pass it - I don't know how often. It has sufficient parking. It has beautiful countryside on its doorstep. You can easily walk out to Dowesdwell Reservoir in 20 minutes. Then go up the Cotswold Path for a longer walk. There is traffic noise in day, but nights are OK. Bedroom spacious, clean and well furnished. Bathroom is modern and clean. I would prefer breakfast to be included. Only real downside is the contactless aspect. I can cope with it, but I prefer a human touch.

Lovely, clean room's comfy beds. Tv very small. Only advise id give ti owners is that we could hear the people above us through the ceiling. The doors slamming when other guests used there doors they do need slow closes on room door. The restaurant is outstanding but not open on sundays. Breakfast would be a nice addition. The hotel is situated on the edge of the Cotswolds and a good base to travel to village's. Definitely stay again.

Pleased with our stay at this hotel. The access codes for entry Into the hotel and rooms were not sent until after we had set off, but at least we could contact someone by phone for this information. Please keep this phone contact for future use by others. Parking can be restricted.

We had a lovely stay at this hotel. We had an enormous room, a very comfortable bed and a large bathroom. We had no trouble booking in and found the staff amazingly friendly and obliging. We had “ Full English” breakfasts on the first morning which were enormous and beautifully cooked. Most unfortunately, the room was so quiet that we overslept and missed out on the second morning! The setting of the hotel is lovely with ample parking. We visit Charlton Kings once every year and normally stay at the Hilton. In future we will stay at The Charlton Boutique.

The room was quite large and beds were comfortable. There was a small kettle and tea/coffee and milk. It was very warm so had to have Window open. Very hard to sleep Due to a lot of noise from What was either a pub or restaurant that was attached. Window was over a door and people were standing there to talk and get lifts etc.. I was unaware of this when I booked and thought just hotel. Not enough parking.. not ideal after a very long journey… at first the shower was great but water suddenly went freezing cold and almost stopped.. a few minutes later it came back on and was good again. I also Struggled to find the towels which were in a shelf In the bathroom… I found it very odd being in a hotel With a key safe and no reception..

Awful, grubby dirty towels and dusty, I did not stay and moved to another hotel, I spoke to the Manager Sammy for a refund and she point blankly refused £394.. I’ve had to go through my bank to get a refund Awful service and rude. Avoid like the plague!

The bed was terrible, two singles pushed to make a king but mattresses at different heights so very uncomfortable. One side the bed sloped up so couldnt lie in the bed without feeling unwell. The otherside was nearly 2 inches lower. The bath was filthy as was the floor to the bathroom. The walls in the bathroom needed a good clean and the towels didn't look clean either! The room was extremely noisy could hear running water from below most of the night. We didnt try the restaurant as it was limited to italian style food which wasn't what we wanted.

Why do hotels think they can get away with this? Dated and tired. Dirty bathroom. Only 1 set of towels provided despite a booking for 2 people. Extractor not working therefore bathroom dank and smelly. Ancient uncomfortable mattress - the strings has gone, it offered no support and was like trying to sleep on board a boat that was listing from side to side.

This property has no staff on site. And there is no one at the end of a phone when you need help at 2:00am because your bed is riddled with bed bugs who are feasting on your face, arms and chest. I had a terrible experience. It’s only after the helpful Expedia agent who was on call at night tried to get a refund that I received a response. They offered to move me to another room, but no one sent a follow up email to check on me (I was in a lot of pain with swollen face and eyelids), and they offered no compensation. It’s been 3 days since that incident and I am still struggling with the bites all over my body. The hotel committed a serious breach of health and safety practices and their only response was to offer to move me to another room. I should also mention that the main road leading to the hotel is closed. This causes severe traffic jams in the morning and in the evening. They sent no communication about that before I checked in. I have never felt so upset and disappointed with the way I was treated. I won’t be booking this place again,

Perfectly serviceable hotel - was only here for one night - but quite a distance from the bars and restaurants of Cheltenham. It was quite clean and rooms are ok but the self check in is very impersonal and I didn’t see any staff while I was there - but did not need them

Was a bit worried about the contactless process but it worked super well actually and allowed us to come and go as we pleased. Bed was comfy and our daughter slept very well in the cot provided. The only things I would maybe say on the negative front was that the shower could have been better but it did the job!

Nice large room and comfortable bed. However, the hairdryer was broken which was eventually replaced but finding a human member of staff to report this was not easy. The wooden slatted blind was broken. The electricity on all the sockets failed in the middle of the night and therefore the hairdryer couldn’t be used. The very dark decor of the room made it gloomy. Overall, disappointing.

Accommodation was adequate with a few problems, there was a water drip noise echoing up the bath plug hole disturbing our sleep, the shower flow was extremely poor and the handle support would not support the shower head so it drooped making it impossible to have a normal shower. Noisy doors banging shut late at night and early morning. A place to AVOID in my opinion, I’ve stayed in better Travelodge at less money !

This is a contactless hotel, so key collection details are sent prior to arrival and you go straight to your room - so hard to rate on service as I didn’t interact with anyone. The room was well equipped, beautifully decorated and had plenty of space. The bed which while low was extremely comfortable and the linens and pillows were of a very good quality. The bathroom was equipped with a bath and shower, and my only issue was here, as it was incredibly slippery as expected trying to get out of the bath after a shower, and no grab handles available.

Hotel was just OK, no welcome by staff as there wasn’t anyone, key code sent via email. TV in room way to small for the size of room. Shower very hit and miss. Didn’t have a cup of tea as kettle disgusting. Bed was ok.

A lovely room, spacious and comfortable, but what a strange operating system at this hotel. They have no reception, but email you your room number and key safe combination. Numerous individuals hanging around in the afternoon/evening who I assume were staff.

I booked a stay through Hotels.com for last night, as I was arriving after the regular check-in hours. Following the instructions in my booking confirmation, I contacted the hotel to inquire about their late check-in procedure, which was listed as available. That evening, I received a message from the hotel confirming my stay, along with the room number and door access codes. However, upon arriving at the hotel and entering the room I had booked, I was shocked to find other people already sleeping there. I immediately double-checked the confirmation details to ensure there wasn’t an error on my part, but the room I was given was indeed the one I had reserved. I have since messaged the hotel about this issue and have yet to receive any response. I am requesting a full refund for this unacceptable experience.

The hotel committed a serious breach of health and safety practices and their only response was to offer to move me to another room. I should also mention that the main road leading to the hotel is closed. This causes severe traffic jams in the morning and in the evening. They sent no communication about that before I checked in. Ideally located for us as visiting family that live in Charlton Kings and didn’t want to stay in central Cheltenham where most hotels don’t have dedicated parking. The room however felt a bit dated and the mattress was very soft and uncomfortable. My husband resorted to sleeping on the floor for a couple hours the last morning.

Hotel is on the east edge of Cheltenham on the A40. Which means that it is easy to find and has lovely countryside on its doorstep. It is a short drive into the town and there are buses nearby. But it is also noisy, depending on which room you have. I could not get out of the main door in the morning. There was no obvious way to unlock it and I had to open the fire door, which was obviously unsafe. It is set up as a contactless hotel, so you need not interact with the staff, though I did meet one guy when I arrived and he showed me to my room. Room and bathroom were spacious, well furnished and clean.

You can easily walk out to Dowesdwell Reservoir in 20 minutes. Then go up the Cotswold Path for a longer walk. There is traffic noise in day, but nights are OK. Bedroom spacious, clean and well furnished. Bathroom is modern and clean. I would prefer breakfast to be included. Only real downside is the contactless aspect. I can cope with it, but I prefer a human touch.

We had a lovely stay at this hotel. We had an enormous room, a very comfortable bed and a large bathroom. We had no trouble booking in and found the staff amazingly friendly and obliging. We had “ Full English” breakfasts on the first morning which were enormous and beautifully cooked. Most unfortunately, the room was so quiet that we overslept and missed out on the second morning! The setting of the hotel is lovely with ample parking. We visit Charlton Kings once every year and normally stay at the Hilton. In future we will stay at The Charlton Boutique.

We stayed here to visit friends who live really close to the hotel. As this is a "contactless hotel" there is no reception to check in or out. You should receive a text/email the day before your stay telling you the access code to gain entry to the hotel, your room number and code to open the key safe on the wall outside your room. This worked well for us but you do need to check that you have received this as I don't know what you would do if you didn't have this info. The staff were around in the morning and they were polite and friendly. The breakfast was excellent. We would stay here again.

Lovely, clean room's comfy beds. Tv very small. Only advise id give ti owners is that we could hear the people above us through the ceiling. The doors slamming when other guests used there doors they do need slow closes on room door. The restaurant is outstanding but not open on sundays. Breakfast would be a nice addition. The hotel is situated on the edge of the Cotswolds and a good base to travel to village's. Definitely stay again.

Too close to busy, noisy road (A40) that was all night. Bed too close to the floor about 18 inches high making it not the easiest to get out of. Whilst the bedding was clean it was of very poor quality . No - one about at all so no refreshment facilities.

Calling it boutique doesn’t make it so. The house tel is nice but nothing special. Arrived Monday no restaurant. Had to complain because could hear water running, was told it was the water tank filling this had been going on about an hour at 10pm before I complained. Fair play they turned it off when I said. Dinner Tuesday night they tried to charge me for food I hadn’t asked for this was sorted when I refused to pay for it. I think the rooms need sound proofing because on one evening I could hear a few blokes chatting in another room and I was woken up at 2am by a couple talking loudly and then making other noises. Not sure I’d stay here again.
