We loved the hotel and Surfside neighborhood location. Easy to walk around, but not as busy or congested like other parts of Miami Beach. The grocery, shops and restaurants nearby were a plus. We particularly love the Residence Inns because they include breakfast and beverages in your daily stay, which is great for families and takes the guess work out of going out for breakfast each morning. Stay also included access to the Surfside Community Center, which was a block away on the beach and had great pools and amenities (like slides and games) for kids. Would definitely stay there again!

Geri at the front desk is awesome! She was friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful. Hotel property itself was beautiful. Pool was closed on a Friday during the entire day for "scheduled maintenance" which none of the staff knew about. I think there was something else going on but it was a huge bummer for everyone that we couldn't use the pool during our stay. Was a very hot and sunny day. Rooms weren't very clean. Dust and hair in the bathrooms. Kitchens weren't stocked. Nothing more than a few glasses in the cabinets. Great location and staff but wouldn't stay again bc of the pool issues and lack of cleanliness.

Pool area was clean and well maintained. BUT the amount of IGUANAS surrounding the pool area which is located on the 3rd floor is overwhelming, we know something can be done to remove these invasive animals they looked like dinosaurs not very relaxing when you pay for a cabana order something to eat and when you look down you have these animals all around. If this is a problem now 7/4/23 it will be a HUGE problem by next year. I really hope management reads this. Very nice property to let it decline.

I did not like their towel system that you have to check out towels at front desk, when the pool is on the third floor and that you have to pick up beach chairs at front desk and walk a block to the beach carrying it. Otherwise nice hotel and great location.

Positives- front desk always responded. Negatives- Pool closes 7pm even though it’s heated, makes no sense. There’s no lifeguard anyway. Nothing to eat after 9pm except a 3/4 mile walk to a restaurant. Cannot have more than 4 towels in room even with 5 occupancy on reservation. Every day a housekeeping call. First time was for service.- said she was going to eat and then come back. Never came back. Second time was for a towel exchange. Third time was for a missing towel. Fourth time asking for towels again. They need to invest in more towels if they’re short. I feel this hotel is over priced for what you actually get to do. They did offer hotel credits but 2 vouchers disappeared off the counter after housekeeping the 2nd day. Go figure.

To be fair I will say the pool area was good, our room for 5 was spacious. It could actually gain with some better cleaning to the rug and bathroom area ( found some hairs in the sink and shower as soon as we arrived and I wore a pair of white socks inside the room and at the end of our stay ( 3 nights) they were brown. Breakfast, which is included, was ok. Nothing super delicious, but enough . The location is excellent. My real problem was with the people and service at the front desk. As soon as we arrived at the hotel, this was at 7:00 p.m on July 10th/24 The person at the front desk, her name was NEIYA, told us that the room wasn’t ready. It’s important to notice that the hotel makes you check out at 11:00 a.m. she did not apologized or said anything kind for the delay. She just said that we had to wait at the lobby and she would tell us when ready. Shile all this was happening she was also checking in the rest of my family with 2 other rooms. She was explaining the towels, bouchers, etc. At 8:00 p.m or so I went to ask about the room and she said it was ready, so she didn’t even bothered to tell us. Then asked about the towels,in a very displeasing voice told me she already explained it to the whole group. In summary very awful experience with this woman. There was also another woman at the front desk the next morning and she made us feel like she was doing us a favor and not actually giving a service for a hotel guest. Not a single smile, not a single nice word.

The staff was less than courteous. Our room was not cleaned daily and we had to request clean / dry towels every single day. The staff was less than nice about the request. You are in the hospitality business, not sure why there were attitudes from the staff. The room itself was fine, the pool was fine, requesting towels and chairs for the beach was fine. But asking for the room to be cleaned and getting dry shower towels was an issue!!! No thanks for the bad attitudes.

I was excited for my stay, however upon arrival the toilet was dirty and the seat was not secured and kept moving at every use. Inside the fridge there was a ball of hair and the outer door of the fridge was and is dirty. Both beds were extremely uncomfortable, you can feel the springs. It is time for an update. When you make the slightest movement on the bed, the springs creak. We expressed our concerns to the lady at the front desk on the first day, and requested a room change. Unfortunately, the lady stated she would not be able to accommodate a room change due to the hotel being fully booked. She sent a cleaning lady to our room to clean the toilet and the fridge. In addition, I tried to order a chicken wrap at both the lobby and pool bar and was told there was no chicken in the entire hotel and that they were waiting for an order. With a fully booked hotel, how was there no chicken? I stayed in room 418 for reference. I was highly disappointed with my stay and unfortunately would not recommend the hotel. I hope my complaints turn into actions to fix the hotel. Thank you for your time.

Did not have a happy experience at the Residence Inn. Was disappointed with servicing in lobby. Unorganized breakfast. shower pressure was dispensing very hard, and was not bathroom not found clean and not stocked with all necessities.

The hotel is in the good location, 3 minutes walk to the beach. Pool on the roof. Not bad breakfast. At first room the AC didn’t work, the staff changed the room. There wasn’t the internet connection for TV.

So much to say here. First, let me assure you, I would stay here again. However, there were little issues throughout my stay that just kept popping up and were irritating. -Our Internet on the TV did not work. Maintenance stopped up, looked at it and said, well maybe it will work tomorrow. HUH? (And spoiler alert: It didn't.) They offered for us to switch rooms, but it wasn't worth the effort. -The bar at dinnertime was WAY understaffed, and the front desk was as well throughout the day. (Pro Tip to Marriott: Try letting customers order food and non-alcoholic drinks electronically and add those $30 daily resort credits to that account.) -We set the temp in our room to 72, but it kept overriding and going up to 76. We had to decipher that system to figure out how to turn the automatic setting off. I realize this is eco-friendly, and I'm here for it, but I don't want to sleep in 76 degree temps. Maybe put a little sign next to the control so people can easily disable it and have housekeeping re-engage it after check-out? -Finally, the message light on the phone would not turn off. When I first saw it and called down, I was told that it was like this in many of the rooms. Another head scratcher for me -- like, maybe FIX the problem??? Again, I would choose this hotel again, but those things were irritating and I hope Marriott can do better on my next stay.

1. None of the windows opened. We had no fresh air. 2. Therr was no jacuzzi. I have never been to a hotel with a pool and no jacuzzi 3. Couch in the room looked good but was plastic and completely uncomfortable to sit.

Soooo close to the beach and a lovely pool area with plenty of seating and umbrellas. Pictures definitely look better than what is offered but was a comfortable stay. Breakfast was very busy every morning and difficult to navigate as it was a small space with lots of people. No waffle maker and toasters took a lot of time. Area was ok. Walk to some restaurants and Jewish delis. Didn’t seem super duper sketchy but also wouldn’t walk around at night alone kind of area. Liked having the kitchen. Room size was good.

Marina—one of the workers at the front desk was very kind and attentive. The only issue that I had was the internet was slow. I could barely browse use FB messenger, IG, Tik Tok or use YouTube without interruptions. This is my second stay here and I had the same issue last year. Otherwise, the location is great—the beach is a block away. You can walk to Publix, Starbucks and restaurants ten minutes away.

The shower didn't have a door so we had to shut the ac off to shower or it was too cold to function. The bed was uncomfortable. It's 38 a day to park. It was fine, but all things considered I wouldn't stay there again.

Ciara was wonderful at the front desk at checkout, she helped accommodate our schedule. Truly the whole staff there is really accommodating. I go to this area of FL for business and this is one of the few places I can rely on for a great stay.

Stay was clean and comfortable, free breakfast was great. The beach was quiet and a quick walk across the street. The staff was nice but seemed to be short staffed. The pool staff was extremely slow, they we’re supposed to open at 12 noon for food and did not open until 2 pm because they were behind..? We would have not waited so long if they communicated that they were behind. Checking in and out was a bit of a wait. When we wanted beach towels from the front desk it was unfortunate to wait 10-15 min for all other guests to check in as there was typically only 1 receptionist available to help everyone. At the end of our stay we were told we could get a late check out and the receptionist made it seem like they were doing us a favor by offering it to us, without additional cost. Then when our late check out time came I was charged $50. I would not have minded paying if I knew this beforehand. When I asked the same receptionist about the charge, they said they were not there and were not the ones to help us accommodate the late check out. Overall hotel was pleasant but the hotel was short staffed and food was typically very slow to get, and I didn’t appreciate the blatant lie about not offering us free late check out. Unfortunately I’m not certain we’d stay again

To be fair I will say the pool area was good, our room for 5 was spacious. It could actually gain with some better cleaning to the rug and bathroom area ( found some hairs in the sink and shower as soon as we arrived and I wore a pair of white socks inside the room and at the end of our stay ( 3 nights) they were brown. Breakfast, which is included, was ok. Nothing super delicious, but enough . The location is excellent. My real problem was with the people and service at the front desk. As soon as we arrived at the hotel, this was at 7:00 p.m on July 10th/24 The person at the front desk, her name was NEIYA, told us that the room wasn’t ready. It’s important to notice that the hotel makes you check out at 11:00 a.m. she did not apologized or said anything kind for the delay. She just said that we had to wait at the lobby and she would tell us when ready. Shile all this was happening she was also checking in the rest of my family with 2 other rooms. She was explaining the towels, bouchers, etc. At 8:00 p.m or so I went to ask about the room and she said it was ready, so she didn’t even bothered to tell us. Then asked about the towels,in a very displeasing voice told me she already explained it to the whole group. In summary very awful experience with this woman. We loved our stay at this hotel. Close to the beach, Publix (for grocery needs), Surfside cafes & restaurants etc.... The staff at this hotel are amazing & friendly. The free continental breakfast was a pleasant surprise as well. The hotel also offers beach towels and chairs for your convenience. Just an amazing stay all together. I would definitely stay here if I'm ever in Miami again.

We loved the hotel and Surfside neighborhood location. Easy to walk around, but not as busy or congested like other parts of Miami Beach. The grocery, shops and restaurants nearby were a plus. We particularly love the Residence Inns because they include breakfast and beverages in your daily stay, which is great for families and takes the guess work out of going out for breakfast each morning. Stay also included access to the Surfside Community Center, which was a block away on the beach and had great pools and amenities (like slides and games) for kids. Would definitely stay there again!

This hotel is clean, beautiful, and safe. I appreciated the assistance of John and Maria at the front desk the most. This is ideal for location - near several bus stops, making this a walkable area to discover many shops, restos, etc. The public bus routes S 120/119 were super helpful during our stay. This will bring you to Miami, Downtown, and more! Bus fare was $2.25 per traveler. A big reason why I decided to stay here was for location. I want to confirm that there is, in fact, NO SHUTTLE service to and from the hotel, as past claims on reviews have mentioned there was. The closest thing to a "shuttle" is the Miami trolly service (which is free) but stops at limited stops. I did not enjoy the service hotel fee of $30 daily, which was to be paid at the start of our check-in, but apparently, it's normal for a Florida hotel to have. This fee includes "free" drinks, breakfast, and beach chairs/towels. You'll also have to sign in and out of each towel or chair you use. I was also forced to pay the balance of the stay in USD, which I was not happy about either being that I paid the deposit in CAD. The exchange rate for me was misleading as I was told on Expedia it would be in CAD fully. In addition, please do not be fooled that this is on the beach because it is not. It is a short walk across a block to access the beach. Nothing too crazy or too far out. There are also a total of 4 floors, for some reason I felt that the hotel was bigger! Overall nice stay!

Don’t believe the open hours on the bars and restaurants. They have a big food menu but we’re out of stock of everything. Literally had Hamburgers or chicken fingers the last two day. To be a HOTEL, we were very disappointed. At best it’s a nice MOTEL. Marriott needs to step up and fix some things here.

The housekeeping team needs to be more mindful of number of guest staying in the room and keep towels accordingly. Cannot be told everyday specially if you are staying there for 5 days or more. The breakfast options need variance every day ..can be same bagels and same scrammbled eggs everyday. The coffee station cannot close exactly at 9:30am when breakfast is wrapped up. Atleast keep it accessible for another 15 minutes for guest to refill or take their pick.

The hotel was nice but was supposed to be a resort. They charged an additional $500 resort fee at check in for a hotel that was maybe two stars. The pool bar was rarely open even on 95 degree days. The pullout sofa mattress couldn’t even be slept on because it was so wore out springs were sticking out of it. The breakfast was really good every morning but when they say it closes at 9:30 beware they will lock you in the breakfast area at 9:30.

The hotel is new and conveniently located near the beach. It has a nice, clean pool, and the rooms were cleaned daily, which was important since we stayed for nine nights as a family. Breakfast was included and offered a decent variety. We were pleased to be upgraded to better rooms, and we appreciated the early check-in and late check-out options. The hotel has all the necessary infrastructure nearby, and transportation was easy with buses and taxis readily available if you don’t have a car. Overall, we enjoyed our stay, and our holiday was delightful. I do have a few suggestions for improvement, but they are minor. For instance, there were not enough vegetables at breakfast. Occasionally, the internet connection was unreliable, and the hot water worked intermittently on some days. We would love to come back.
