Tarpon Shores Inn

Hotel was clean, but dated with minimal amenities - like no towel rack. WIFI was very good. No carpeting was good feature. Located on Hwy 19, so traffic noise was significant. Close to Sponge Docks & grocery stores. Less expensive. Outside pool was not used as storms were passing through. Whirlpool and laundry also available, but we didn’t use them. Ice machine was used and with FL heat, this is a mandatory feature. Staff were friendly and helpful.

The ceilings were in terrible shape with water damage and plaster patches that look like a monkey did them. The hot tub foamed up like it was filled with detergent when putting on the jets and a suspicious odor arose. The room shower control was of a type I had never seen and my wife found it impossible to turn off. It is non-intuitive to operate with what seems to be a single clear plastic controller is actually two dials, one for water flow and the other for temperature. The beds were sagging, in fact the whole place had the feel of a sagging old motel.

Great hotel i’m Star. Very good. Only problem was they were under some construction but everything else was great. They had a hot tub and a sauna very nice and a great pool. And the construction wasn’t that serious it was just they were paving the roads to make it more better for the customers if that’s the only negative then that’s great..

I adored this hotel. Very clean. Vintage everything because it hasn’t changed since 1985. But it works so well! The staff is fun. Pool is well kept. We will return.

Rooms were clean, pool was pristine, location was easily accessible and walkable to Chili's restaurant which was a plus. Only drawback was the A/C unit was a bit on the noisy side.

Liked that it was centrally located to most attractions. Didn't like that the vending machines were out of order.

The room smelled musty. The carpet was gross. The bed only had two very thin pillows. The pool was freezing. They were tearing up the parking lot so we were blocked in the first morning. The second night we had to park in a spot the farthest away from our room. This was very difficult for my husband to reload the car before our checkout. There is no elevator making it unsafe for my mobility issues.

It was overall a good stay! My only issue was that upon arrival the room smelled very strong of humidity, which made me a bit nauseous, but I guess that makes since given the area. Staff was nice and the hot tub was nice and clean :) would stay here again!

The bed was horribly uncomfortable. There was some type of bugs crawling on the sink in the bathroom that we don’t quite know what it was. Looked like gnats, but did not fly. Definitely was not ants. The bathroom was clean, however the decor in the room is very much from the 80s. The comforter on the bed is definitely an older style comforter. We did not have time to use the pool, but the front desk clerk was extremely nice and offered to keep the pool open longer for us since we arrived so late but we declined. We ended up checking out early because we could not sleep so we only stayed for about six hours.

Room smelled awful and there were cockroaches in the fridge. So gross!! We left and went to a different hotel. The only positive of it was how nice and helpful the front desk staff person was. Other than that, would never stay here again.

The Hotel had no updates since it was built. Everything is old inside the bedroom. The bedrooms smells bad. I had to change room for the first night but didn’t work. They all smell bad and I had a terrible night. I couldn’t change to another hotel and if I could I would have done it. Although, next day I found a new hotel and finally had a good time. AVOID IT IF YOU CAN. PAY A LITTLE BIT MORE AND YOY WONT REGRET IT

Cleanness excellent… the only problem there was a lil smell from the carpet but other than that everything was fine.. worth the money

After spending the first night, we decided it was better than our first impression. The room was spotless except the carpet. Carpet was old and torn and held the humidity, so felt damp. All bedding including bedspread and blankets are washed after each customer. Towels are bleached. Soap and shampoo are provided. Room had fridge, microwave, and hair dryer in addition to tv. We didn't use it, but the pool and jacuzzi looked clean and cared for.

The property is very outdated. The room was unsatisfactory for the price that we paid per night. The floors were dirty and the tile had not been mopped or swept. There was hair and stuff on the bathroom floor. The bathroom tub was. Rusty and had loose fixtures. There was ceiling texture peeling in the bedroom. The refrigerator and coffee machine were very dirty and corroded. The snack machine machines outside were empty and the vending machine for the sodas and water was rusty from being outside. There was no breakfast items at all. That was probably my fault for not looking. No coffee in the lobby. The swimming pool looked clean anyways I guess that is a good point. The bathroom towel situation was lacking. No soaps or shampoos provided. Overall the experience is one of the worst that we have had at staying in motels. There was a light bulb missing in the living room lamp. One of the lightbulbs over the vanity was blinking because it was going bad. The bathroom fan inside the toilet area did not work. The TV was a small TV. Again, if I was paying 50 or 60 bucks a night, I could understand the situation. But we were paying well over that and did not get close to our moneys worth.

Musty smell, old scratchy comforters, I spilt coffee on the floor and when to clean it up and it was BLACK. Not coffee brown. Fun office guy was alright, I don’t think he could care one way or another.

This place is immaculate and the staff is so pleasant and eager to help you. We will definitely stay here again and highly recommended. It's 2 miles to the Sponge Docks.

The bathroom have mold in the shower top ceiling carpet it’s old and dirty

Room was clean, bed was comfortable. Furnishings are a little outdated, but well cared for. Only minor issues I saw was a little rust on the tub, and a few hairline cracks in some floor tiles. Definitely would stay there again!

The room was clean. The beds were sink holes. You had to climb to the opposite side to stay up. 2 doubles and both were the same way. They were not that way in previous stays. Hopefully they upgrade the mattresses. Also the refrigerator leaked inside.

The property in general is attractive and well-maintained, The pool was crystal clear! Matt and Richard at the desk were very helpful. Theresa, who does housekeeping was eager to please and made sure my broken lamp was fixed quickly. Sorry to report that there was no functioning WiFi and staff said this was not reparable in the foreseeable future... the coffee carafe lid, basket, and burner were so dirty they looked like they hadn't been cleaned in weeks. Which makes it worth adding that the clock was set to incorrect time. I'd like to stay again at Tarpon Shores Inn but with non-functioning WiFi, I would not return.

The HVAC was extremely noisy as well as the fan in the bathroom. Otherwise it was an ok stay.

While it's an older property, it's well maintained and very clean. The kitchenette, with a medium sized refrigerator and stove was a nice surprise for a longer stay. The television system was not adequate in todays' market. It's right on the busy highway, so the road noise was high, if you're on that side of the building. The price was pretty high, but it's spring break and they've bulldozed most of the affordable options that used to be in the area.

Cute little hotel. The hot tub was amazing and it is normally open till 10:30pm. Rooms are large with half divider wall to separate the sitting area from the sleeping area. The AC in room 117 worked well, but was pretty loud. Other than that small thing, my stay was quite nice. Would definitely stay again.

The price and location of Tarpon Shores Inn was spot on for my needs. I booked three days stay and stayed one night. Checked out the second day too late for a full refund but they did refund the third day graciously and with no resistance. The staff was courteous and friendly. This is a dated motel that has been updated with flooring and bathroom fixtures, paint and cosmetic items. The bed was like sleeping in a hammock, no back support at all. The heat did not keep up with the low temperatures that were in the area during my stay at 40 degrees overnight. Those two items added up to a miserable night. I don't like giving any bad reviews, just stating the facts.

Noisy from Highway noise.

For the price this is a fabulous hidden gem in my opinion. Shout out specifically to Liana the front desk worker who checked us in and Theresa the lovely cleaning services worker. They were both so attentive and friendly; Liana worked with us to find a room where we could see our truck and kayak and Theresa was so joyful letting us know she was there for our needs. The rooms are dated with some wear but it was meticulously clean (probably thanks to Theresa!). The bed was comfortable, the AC fine, and the water warm. The pool and hot tub were great amenities, plus there were well marked snack and ice machines. It's not fancy, but it was perfect for us and we would patronize again! (The app won't let me add photos right now but I did take photos because all was very pleasant!)

Conveniently close to my friend I came to visit but horrible staff. Took over 15 minutes to check in because the staff member didn't know how to work the computer. He called someone on the phone and cussed and ranted about how he didn't know how to work the computer. Couldn't get anyone to bring us towels (traveling with 2 children). We were told we had to walk to the office to get them. Overall it was simply a place to sleep. Only positive note I have is that there are no roaches or bed bugs. I work in the pest control field and that was the first thing I checked.

Horrible Customer service don't go here. Trying to get my problem resolved but the person I spoke to was very rude. I understood the situation but still didn't need to be talk down that way. I don't recommend anyone to come to this place.

Our stay was perfect. The price we paid was good, the staff was friendly and the property and room were very clean. The front desk moved us from 2nd floor to 1st floor due to my husbands back problems and because he could not do the stairs. She was a doll!

We really enjoyed The Tarpon Springs area. The hotel is not fancy, but it is clean and the price is reasonable. Even though it is on a main heavy traffic road, it was quiet. The pool and hot tub were clean and not crowded. We will stay there again when we visit that area.

This motel is far from the tourist areas of Tarpon Springs, meaning, not within walking distance. But for the price, not a big deal for me. Overall, I recommend the Tarpon Shores Inn, but though it's clean and well kept, don't mistake this for luxury.

The entire property although older was well kept and cosmetically upgraded. Great location with easy trip to downtown and many restaurants within walking distance. Good value.

Awkward getting onto property if traveling north on hwy 19. Hwy 19 very noisy.Staff very friendly and helpful. Clean property .Overall we had a good stay for the month we wete there. Would recommend perhaps getting a unit in rear of the property. .

If you happen to forget something a Walmart is near by to get any essentials. Access to the Sponge Docks is under 10 minutes. If you want a refreshing dip in the hotel pool it is clean and well maintained.The only drawback is that the property is a little dated but given the location and nearby amenities it is extremely well priced.

I liked the location, where it was close to Tarpon Springs to enjoy walking through the town and an authentic Greek dining experience. I didn’t like that you could hear road traffic from my room located in front of the hotel.

The staff were very friendly, helpful and informative. The Inn itself is very close to all the sites including the Sponge Docks.

Traffic is something else. To travel to the Sponge Dock, you had to make a U-turn across a very busy highway. There are limited places to eat, and again, you had to make a U-turn to get to them.

It was just my husband and I, no kids. The room was very nice and so was the staff. We just didn’t have cable tv only an antenna. There was also no breakfast but didn’t really look to see if it was offered or not.

Front desk guy gave excellent advise for dinner for me and my wife had a great time. Bella's was awesome 😎👍 !! Clean n neat n cozy best time ever !!! Would definitely stay again!!!
