There was parking, air conditioning worked. Property and room very run down, but what do you expect for $90

Quiet stay. Decent neighborhood. Bathroom was small with just a shower and toilet.

The room was dated and displayed major water damage in the bathroom. Upon check in, the desk clerk tried charging 3 of our canadian credit and debit cards using a machine that appeared very dated. He insisted that all of our cards were "declined" when in fact one of them was used multiple times that day for gas and food purchases without any issue. We both suggested that the root cause might be his machine but he refused to troubleshoot or provide any guidance other than referring us to a Bank of America ATM machine. Again, that ATM had no problem dispensing cash from my Canadian TD debit card- I was charged $4 US for that transaction in addition to $3 CAD. Upon returning to the front desk with cash in hand, his demeanor changed entirely and at that point he admitted that sometimes his machine gives him trouble. Completely unprofessional and unhelpful lack of customer service. No option to prepay online for our stay, so we were left with no choice other than driving to said ATM after a 9 hour commute from Toronto. Upon examining the machine's error messages, we discovered the prompt "no such issuer" which contradicts his statement of all our cards getting declined. Be upfront, honest and useful, invest in proper machines and stop shifting blame to customers, knowing full well your machine is the problem. He looked as though he couldn't be bothered to properly do his job, and only offered a true and valid explanation once we returned with cash.
