Very clean rooms! Easy parking and were able to walk directly into the room.

This is such a cute and unique place.The king bed was new and awesome.check in was sooo easy. Beautiful lake right across the street.Would love to come back when weather is warmer to use the pool.It looks awesome.So glad someone cares enough to revamp old ,instead of tearing down.Much more spacious than most hotels.We will definitely be returning.

Loved the decor and comfy rooms (I slept like a dream!). The pool looked pristine and so inviting but was sadly closed for the evening by the time we arrived. We especially appreciated “a room for all” messaging, eco-friendly efrorts ie. ceramic mugs as opposed to paper cups in the rooms, recycling containers everywhere and that cans and bottles would be donated to a local youth organization- love this!

Motel Bear Lake - Is a really cute property with nice, clean rooms. They are pet friendly, which is great. The property has several areas to walk your dog. There is a gas station directly across from the hotel for convenience. This is not a chain hotel - which is great. We will plan to stay here if ever in the area again.

My family and I stayed at Motel Bear Lake for a night while planning a day at Lake Michigan, and I was in awe with this place! My kids love all the games, art supplies, and local beach! It can be hard to find pet friendly stays, especially that are clean, but this had it all! We felt right at home! We will definitely be back!

We liked the keypad entrance, parking right outside of the room, big bed, ceiling fan, community linen room with games and toys and minutes drive to attractions either way you go. Price point was very nice and plan on coming back when we can. Thank you Motel Bear Lake for being a wonderful place!

As Michigan travellers, we have stayed in many hotels and motels. This was the best in a long time (very clean and loved the bed). It was a last minute trip for New Year's Eve and I was able to book a room in the evening that was immediately available for us settle into with 24-hour check-in. The remote keyless entry was wonderful, along with the included amenity room, which had extra towels, cups, plates, condiments, coffee/tea, pet supplies, and indoor/outdoor games. The staff's all-around inclusiveness of people, pets, and recreational activities is very thoughtful and something that I will keep in mind for future trips. We originally booked a room for 1 night, but the weather during the day kept us at Motel Bear Lake and we decided to extend our visit (also last minute). The staff (possibly owner) was super friendly when I texted them about booking an additional night, which is very convenient for communication during a trip. They even manually updated the system to keep us in the same room for the additional night along with reactivating our amenity room code, which also was just a few simple texts to a resolution in a matter of minutes. The area was peaceful and quiet. Bear Lake is practically across the road. There is a gift shop, as well as cute post cards, magnets, keychains, and mugs available for in-room purchasing. We loved the retro look thats being infiltrated into this motel's rooms and it's centralized location to western state attractions. *Pool out of season

Good place to stay with comfortable beds and a nice pool.

The motel was ok. There is no staff member on site most of the time, but they have a supply closet with extras. The rooms have been redone to a 1960s decor. They were ok, but could have been nicer. The beds are on the hard side, but the room was clean. They are still remodeling the outside, so it was still a bit rough. Overall an ok stay, especially with very few options in the area.

Floor in room was slanted not sure built that way or if it is a problem. Not very good lighting. Very uncomfortable bed and pillows. Parking area is very small. A Lot of road traffic noise. Very small bathroom especially where the toilet is located. Banged knee on tp holder several times. Overall for the cost of room. Not impressed. We actually let a day early because I did not want to sleep in that bed another night.

The room was updated and spacious. We liked the second sink to help our family get ready quicker. We liked having Netflix available. We would stay here again.

It was OK. The only downside of this trip the beds were like 15 inches off the ground. The restroom are super small. They were gone for the look of the 60s and 70s they achieve that.

Clean room and comfortable bed. Nice swimming pool. Cons Stayed in room twenty that is on the end next to the highway. Truck traffic was annoying at night and they bumped on the potholes in the highway

Pet friendly! The beds and pillows were comfortable! I love that they provide a sound machine to drown the traffic noise for light sleepers.

Motel Bear Lake was a perfect spot to spend the night before an early flight out off Manistee. The decor was lovely, the information booklet was helpful, the bed was super comfortable, and the location was convenient. The only minor concern was the noise. We could clearly hear nextdoor guests outside late at night, and the sounds in our room were slightly disruptive. Both are to be expected in an older building and in a motel layout. Nothing that would stop us from staying again. We loved being able to purchase a mug with a quick Venmo payment - such a great idea!

Check in was super easy and efficient. Owners were very quick to respond with a question. Room was very clean and nicely updated. Beds were comfy wr enjoyed our stay!!

I typically don’t like staying at Motels because of the exterior door on the outside. This place has recently been updated and except for having no lobby and no one on the property it was a pleasant stay.

Very nice place to stay. Old school vibes! Room was perfect. Pool was great and right outside your door, and Bear Lake with small swimming area within walking distance. If your a boater, I noticed, plently of lake access. 15 minutes to downtown Manistee & lake Mi.

This little motel located across from Bear Lake is a great comfortable beautiful spot. I really enjoyed the very comfortable beds and retro style bathroom. The convenience of having a Gas station across the street is a great plus for any munchies you may have. What a great stay!

Property not located in area searched which turned out to be 1/2 hour further. Messed up some plans. Room booked was switched by owner and then had trouble getting in. No partial refund. No breakfast which is typically standard and dirty ice from ice machine.

Such a charming retro motel, updated with fine amenities (Hooray for good TP, soaps, tea, coffee) and renovated to maintain the original feel. This was obviously a labor of love - The Schitt's would be proud of these women entrepreneurs! We loved Motel Bear Lake, as well as the Lakeside Cafe for breakfast, and could watch the sunset across the street.

A quaint motel with a cool vibe. Appeared recently refreshed inside and was a great value. Contactless checkin and no staffed office. Friendly cafe nearby for breakfast. Bought retro coffee mug.

This is such a wonderful little place. It has an atmosphere of warmth & trust, while being retro & fun. I've stayed here once before, so I knew that I really wanted one of the rooms with an extra sink -- it makes it easy for two procrastinators to get ready at the last minute. I also remembered that the thoughtfully curated in-room guide would lead me to the breakfast place that I forgot the name of. This is definitely on my list of favorite motels, because it's just my kind of cozy cool.
