Olema House at Point Reyes

Nice hotel, great staff, beautiful property. The only downside was the daily $25 resort fee, which didn't make sense because it's not a resort (no gym, activities, restaurant, bar, etc.). Apart from that, nice place!

This is a nice, semi high-end hotel with clean rooms and a nice staff. However, there are a lot of stairs and steps throughout the hotel, including a couple of steps inside our room (#21). For those with mobility issues, this motel is probably not a good choice.

Beautiful property, some construction being done on the main feature of the property: the lawn/garden area. Our room was right above a seating area which didn’t allow for as much privacy as we had hoped, guests we right below our window in the evening and workers right below in the morning. For the price, one would think things might be arranged a little differently. Restaurant next door was excellent.

This is such a gem! Perfect location in West Marin in a beautiful setting. The creek in back, the fire pit, the small patios and verandas, the outdoor seating, all make it a perfect retreat. Due West next door has a great vibe with consistently good food.

It's such a beautiful place to unplug and reset. We only stayed one night and I wish we could have spent two days there simply because I didn't realize how much I wanted a place to just do nothing. We will be back. I want to note the thoughtfulness of the ADA room. There are some limitations to the exterior property, such as the entry door not being able to accommodate wider mobility devices, and common areas were not very accessible at all. However, the interior had fairly wide pathways with easily movable furniture. Bathroom had an even threshold into the shower, which was large with multiple grab bars and fold down shower chair. Sink accommodates wheelchair users. Placement of ADA room was right next to the ramp from a singular handicap parking space large enough to easily fit a van with an wheelchair or scooter attachment.

Beautiful outdoor area and spacious room with a lovely view of redwoods and coastal range. During the afternoon, I sat outside with a glass of rose and a good book - it was idyllic! In the evening, my daughter and I snuggled under warm blankets around an outdoor fire and roasted smores that the hotel provided.

The Olema house is a jewel. Set on a stream, surrounded by a lovely garden and outdoor seating, it does not disappoint. Wine awaits in your room and staff bend over backwards to help with your stay. Trails nearby are excellent and the natural beauty of the place is unbeatable. Restaurant associated with hotel is excellent. I’ll be back!

For the price, wish it will have breakfast. The place was nice and quiet. Need some ground maintenance.

Loved the backyard area with tons of seating, fire pit etc. spacious room with patio and seating. Comfy bed and clean rooms. Super close to Point Reyes and PRStation.

The biggest thing for us was the staff. Everyone was so friendly, attentive, and accommodating. Most memorable were Melanie who checked us in and Kyle who took care of us most of the time. We were there for our parents' 50th anniversary and were just blown away by Kyle's warm hospitality, and thoughtfulness throughout our stay. Of course the stream-side property itself was unbelievably charming with beautiful, well-maintained grounds, and our 2-level room just had so much character. We couldn't have had a more comfortable and enjoyable stay, and can't wait to return.

There is a nice parlor with games and a fireplace and a nice view of the garden. The restaurant next door had delicious food. All in all I highly recommend.

We recently stayed in the space above the tavern, which is part of Olema House, and overall, we had a nice experience. Check-in was smooth and seamless, and the receptionist was incredibly welcoming and helpful. Our room met—and honestly exceeded—our expectations in terms of comfort and design. That said, there were a few areas that could use improvement. Leading up to our stay, I tried to contact the hotel multiple times over the span of a couple weeks with no luck. It wasn’t until one or two days before our check-in that I was finally able to get someone on the phone. That delay was frustrating and made it hard to plan ahead. We had dinner at Due West, and the food was good. However, the service was inconsistent—we had to repeatedly ask for simple things like utensils, water, and sauces. The staff was kind, just a bit forgetful. The biggest drawback was the noise on the night of our stay. When we returned to our room around 9:00–9:15 PM, there was a party on the property that was extremely loud and definitely affected the peaceful experience we were hoping for. As for the property itself—it’s charming, but parts of it feel a bit worn. The outdoor fire pit area, for example, had mismatched and weathered furniture that didn’t quite align with the price point or the “luxury” label. All that being said, I did enjoy our visit and would stay here again. The property is beautiful and has a lot of potential,it just needs a bit more consistency and polish to fully ask high rat

- Miscommunication (was called by property to ask if I wanted a sofa bed made and was called back a few days later to say the room didn't have a sofa bad and this couldn't be offered)...also phone in room didn't work - Leak from ceiling (brown water) that caused us to pack up and leave early; did not feel like there was a quick response or any resolve for the situation we were put in as a result - Really like the fact that there isa good option in this area but was disappointed with the overall experience

My wife and I took a 2 night breather to Point Reyes, and for the first time booked the Olema House, it will NOT be our last! The staff was warm and professional, we were upgraded to a garden view 2nd story room, and the entire experience was flawless. Wonderful location near the Point Reyes hikes and Point Reyes Station. Our minor critique is that we wish the room had 2 chairs, instead of one. Room was spotless, well appointed, and the complimentary bottle of wine a bonus. We will be back!

I especially loved the new-feeling jacuzzi -- it's the best in-room one that I've experienced so far. I also liked how the bathroom area was raised above the room. It would have been nice to have a closet, clothing rack, or more hooks for hanging things. Otherwise the room and grounds were lovely.

For the expense, the unit was too small and the fan did not work and no air conditioning. Lacked toiletries, no lotion ect.

Just a few strange elements in a generally nice room - no closet, sliding bathroom door is difficult to open and close.

No closet to hang clothes - just 3 hooks on wall and a couple hangers. Had to ask for a couple more hangers. Insufficient towel racks/hooks in bathroom. No side table or desk for reading or working. Only 1 chair in the room, which had to be moved for access to lighting. Need minimum 2 chairs. Staff was helpful.

This is absolutely gorgeous Setting love the atmosphere. However, the rooms are cramp, horrible coffee, and no secure Wi-Fi.

Wonderful room but very small. No TV which was nice but surprising. Room had nice walk out to lawn and creek. Bed was foam, too soft, sunk in the middle.

The room was excellent, just like the pictures! Staff was very attentive and helpful when needed. Great place to stay while exploring the north coast!

The staff was super helpful. The location was reasonably close to Point Reyes and around the corner from the visitor center.

This is a nice little inn, and we found the room to be nice, though quirky bathroom set-up. That said, we enjoyed the room and thoughtful amenities. Location is very handy for Point Reyes and all the outdoor stuff in the area. Our only major issue was checking in. The staff member at the front desk told us he was on his break and that we could come back in 20 minutes. At that time, he could help us. Seriously, at this price point one would imagine there could be back-up staff to accommodate guests.

Amazing West Marin property, and convenient tavern next door. So chill and lovely....perfect spot to use as home base while touring this lovely region of California.

Loved this hotel! Great atmosphere, wonderful rooms and the grounds are beautiful. It’s so quiet right on a creek and close to the coast and gorgeous trails. Highly recommend!

The only reason not to rate excellent was the disappointing "light breakfast" and coffee offerings - a couple of breakfast bars, yogurt and cold coffee with creamers. It would be better not to mention breakfast. I would definitely stay again - gorgeous property with lovely staff.
