Thr restaurant closes at 9pm. No bellman Even if you’re struggling to open the entrance door with your luggage NO ONE AT THE RECEPTION DESK WILL HELP. There’s just no service.

The hotel was clean and quiet, the roof top bar was a perfect place to unwind in the evening with excellent city views. The only issue we had was with the valet - there was no valet to be found when we arrived and waited for several minutes before finding a city lot to park in.

Trendy lobby and location with a beautiful rooftop bar. Rooms are nice although simple without drawers/ closet space with a square beds. Awesome breakfasts and nice atmosphere For the price, need to kick up room service and bar service on roof.

It was very nice ,the atmosphere was very nice , the decor and the valet parking was very nice but if you do not do valet parking, there is no parking available really that’s the only downfall about the hotel for me.

Quirk is a cute boutique hotel with decent accommodations. There service was alright with ridiculously overpriced valet services-we were leaving early in the morning and had to retrieve our own car, so we paid $30 to have our car parked a block away. We chose this hotel because it was pet friendly-another $75 fee, but there was no place to take our dog out in a 4 block radius. The room itself was nice and everything was very clean. It was also very conveniently located and easy to find. It was certainly not worth what we paid, but it wasn’t a bad experience.

Upon arrival, we were surprised there was no bell hop service and we had to struggle with a big, heavy, awkward bulky luggage cart which forced you to go to the front of the hotel on the busier street since there was no ramp only steps on valet side. We also had to push this heavy cart far down to where the elevators are located at the back of the building. We were initially excited about being in the penthouse, but when we walked into the room which I would describe as urban rustic there were visible hairs on countertop, snacks from the previous guest on rug near bedside closest to bathroom, in shower there was a used bar of soap left on top of body wash shampoo and conditioner, after showering we noticed dirty permanent stains on one of hand towels, two lightbulbs were out in bathroom, after both Cleaning’s standing water was left in bathroom sink where you had to pull it out in the water with your hand, also coffee I have made for myself and decided it was not worth drinking was left where I left it so that was not cleaned up. There is minimal light in bedroom. Rates are unreasonable for what this hotel offers even in the penthouse.

The space is absolutely beautiful. The rooms are comfortable. It was a bit disappointing to see many spaces unkempt and neglected. The hotel wasn’t very busy yet trash bins were filled to the top, the public bathrooms dirty, and in the room spaces like the windowsill and phone were extremely dusty. The phone in my room wasn’t functional and the chain to lower the blind was busted. All issue that should be apparent at first glance yet nobody cared enough to fix. The concierge isn’t very helpful at all, one is better off using a search engine and figuring things out themselves. Room service told me my request wasn’t available, later that morning I made the same request in person and it was 100% available, as it should’ve been to start per the staff.

I found the property to be a bit underwhelming compared to how it was advertised. Some room fixtures were a bit rundown, the floor was dirty, there was barely any natural light (and the small, high window looked directly into a balcony from another room), the beds were very small, and the ceiling leaked. The area is okay; it's centrally located but there are other areas of Richmond that I would recommend.

Love all the pink! Thoughtful room decor, and interesting art which created unique and fun vibe! Who has pink tv remotes, mini fridges, ice buckets and scoops, and pink white noise machines?! The Quirk Hotel! I appreciated my virtual concierge who I could text with questions or room requests. Lorenzo (?) from the front was especially helpful, welcoming and friendly. It was super hot (100 degrees!) outside during our stay, so it would have been nice if the room had a ceiling fan or portable fan in the room to help get more air circulation because the room was still quite warm after turning the a/c down as low as it could go. I texted the virtual concierge (“Ivy”) and a fan was delivered quickly. All requests were responded to promptly and with great customer service.

The Quirk is beautiful. Our room was spatious and well designed. It was unfortunate that our room did not have blackout curtains and was east facing. The heater sounded like a Cesna. Great space to hang out, horrible for sleeping.

The AC in room 703 was seriously underwhelming. If I hadn’t brought my own portable fan, I might’ve melted from heat exhaustion. Strangely enough, it was actually cooler outside than it was in the room—even though the thermostat was set to 68, it felt more like 75+. That was the only downside to an otherwise great stay. Looking back, it’s almost laughable how bad the AC was.

Valet parking available ($30 per night) and was a huge plus for me driving across country and arriving middle of the night. Had a situation where I needed to modify my stay and Tyler and John helped out with no issues. Thomas was the worker upon my arrival and he was a rock star. Helped with the booking, parking, tons of questions I had etc. He was a one man show doing it all and didn't fail to impress.

Very cute hotel close to downtown. The customer service was lacking. Despite requesting a late checkout, a rude housekeeper banged on the door and then told us we should have checked out already. Could have been handled better. The valet was also hit or miss with the front desk staff not being very helpful.

Arrived at 5 pm and the room I reserved was not ready. They gave me another room, but it was not the room I reserved. I opened the fridge in the room to place a bottle of water in it. There was an old, half eaten salad in it. Valet staff was excellent, but front desk staff (based on 3-4 interactions were ok, but not especially friendly.

I've been staying at The Quirk since they opened every time I am in Richmond for work. It definitely needs some updating. Also I booked multiple rooms for myself and co-workers - for some reason my room jumped up by $100 more than the others when I made a minor change to the reservation even though it was the exact same nights (Monday & Tuesday). I asked the front desk about it and 'there was 'nothing they could do'. I don't think we will be back.

The property itself is very unique, colorful, quirky and well decorated. The room and bathroom were both clean, the bed was comfortable and the white noise machine was good. The building is old and in a few spots you could see areas of wear and tear. All staff I came in contact with were pleasant, professional and very accommodating when help was needed. Upon checking in the television didn't seem to connect so we call for assistance and immediately a person wS knocking on the door before we could call to let them know we figured it out. The one night stay was very enjoyable especially because everything needed was walkable. One thing to note it would have been nice to have at least extra washcloths available without having to ask.

Quirk was terrific, as always -- except for one thing which shocked me. I had sent a message ahead asking if I could check in two hours early (2 PM) and was told "yes" but you'll have to pay an extra $50! I've never heard of that in any of the excellent hotels in which I stay. So -- I said that was ludicrous and checked in at 4, on time.

The staff at reception was great, as was the food and wait staff. The housekeeping staff was blasting their music while cleaning rooms and two house keeping staff got into an argument and when another guest and I popped our heads out they told us to mind our own business an go back to our rooms. The other guest asked them to keep it down (she was on a work call) and they turned the music up. Disappointing as all the other staff was fantastic.

The hotel is fine, it is clean and comfortable. The room is well equipped and has a fridge and coffee machine. The street it is on is not good. Closed shops, vape shops, thrift shops. It is surrounded by a university campus.

We stayed here while attending an Expo at the convention center. Parking is on the street but there was not a problem with ample parking. Check in was very easy, the hotel is very artsy and the decor inside is lovely. It's a very welcoming feel as you walk in, dining options at and around the bar are nicely done. Staff are very friendly, courteous and helpful with any needs. The room we had was on the 7th floor, it is tastefully furnished and had a balcony. This is a great location to be in and will definitely look at staying here again when visiting Richmond.

I was a bit disappointed- there was a strange odor in our room and in the hallway. When we checked in, the person was not very friendly. The area around the hotel did not feel very safe when walking to and from dinner.

This hotels is highly romanticized on Instagram and TikTok. The hotel itself is alright. It’s very cute with their esthetic and vibe but the beds are literally just the cheapest possible mattress placed on a wooden board. The walls are paper thin so you can hear everything from your neighbors next door and they have connecting room doors that at one point our neighbors thought would be funny to bash on at 11pm. The connecting doors aren’t traditional. Each room has a door and then there is what looks like a swinging kitchen door connecting the rooms, so if you have annoying neighbors they can literally open and slam them for as much as they want and you will hear all of it. The location of this hotel is, in my opinion, not safe. The streets are run down and after 7pm I wouldn’t walk too far from the hotel. Put this hotel in any other location and it would shine but the area made this hotel experience very negative for us. I personally will never go back to this hotel but if you don’t care about safety then I highly recommend booking this location!

The only comment is I wish when we checked in they would’ve told us we needed reservations to dine. We really wanted to do the brunch on Sunday and waited till 1030 to come down when it opened only to be told that there was no room that they were sold out with reservations . Had I known that I would’ve made reservation when I checked in

Great stay! The hotel was amazing and the gallery art was so fun and thought provoking! Loves the sustainability with the reverse osmosis water filtration system! Rooftop bar had great views! Bed were fabulously comfy! Morning coffee delish! And go for the egg sando for breakfast; the croissant was so delectable! Totally would stay here again!

This was our first time in Virginia and we couldn’t have stayed at a better hotel. From the moment we arrived we were treated by friendly staff and everything that we ordered from the cafe and bar was excellent. We look forward to staying there again.

This is a great boutique hotel in a cool part of Richmond. It’s the downtown art area, only comment is that some of the common parts look a little run down. The carpets outside the lifts are very run down and grubby but overall the hotel is terrific. The roof top bar is wonderful as is the restaurant in the lobby.
