Hotel Colono Beach

Nice place to stay prior to or just after flying into Liberia. This area is very touristy so wouldn't want to stay here to long. Hotel and staff were nice. Breakfast was very good. We liked that we could also use the bigger and fancier pool at the associated resort just a 5 min drive away.

Clean, and well kept hotel. Very walkable to center of coco and beach. Close to Ocotal. Parking is safe and has a guard at night. The only issue was that the staff was already cleaning our room and we had not checked out yet. Check out is as noon. It was only 11:15am and we had not left the keys in reception yet and our vehicle was still parked there. We planed to shower before leaving, so it was uncomfortable to find the cleaning lady in our room cleaning. Better communication with reception should solve this. The breakfast buffet (hot and cold options) was great on Sunday morning !!

Excellent price and location. Rooms are nice, but A/C flukey. Pool area is in need of an upgrade, but okay.

We were greeted by a less than welcoming staff person. The room was “okay”, however very old and did not appear to be maintained. We walked into a sweltering hot room as all appliances including refrigerator, freezer and AC were either unplugged or turned off. The pool was covered in algae and leaves. The jacuzzi was empty. Aside from the registration staff, all other staff were friendly and helpful. The breakfast that was included was very nice.

For the value, it's a decent stay. The Bad: No elevators Dirty pool Noisy neighbors and local bars TV in room has 2 English/American channels (not a smart TV so we couldn't link streaming services) The Good: AC works great Breakfast included Access to beach club (pool, gym and tennis) On site restaurant Daily housekeeping Walkable to beach, restaurants and shopping Overall, a convenient location. Driving isn't necessary if you're staying local.

We stayed four four nights and were very pleased. The room was spacious and comfortable and very clean. Breakfasts were varied and more than sufficient. The pool is small but perfect for cooling off from the heat. Overall, the hotel is conveniently located but far enough from the main strip and small enough so as not to be too noisy. Good value.

This was a good place to spend a few days at Coco Beach. Easy walking into town. The room was clean and the staff was very helpful. Included a full breakfast buffet. A nice pool on the property when we weren't at the beach.

Clean and quiet, lots of parking available

My only issue with the property is bed bug, I got bitten on my left knee the first night, but didnt think anything of it until I noticed 2 more bites on the right leg the second night. Other than that, the staff were wonderful and extremely accommodating…..

Water was coming out of the AC unit. The toilet was stuck doesn’t work. The unit didn’t seem like it was newly cleaned.

Wish I would have stayed at an airbnb. The room had three doors (access points) to room. One of which was unlocked. The sliding glass door did not lock which was a security concern. The toilet barely flushes. The music from neighboring clubs was going all night long, people racing or motorcycles all night. The absolute worst part.... the HEAT!!!! the mini split was either too small for the room or it needs to be repaired. We were hot AF in the room all night. It took us to close the bathroom door to try to cool off the room faster only to open the bathroom door and get hit with a heatwave.

Huge room, huge bathroom. Very clean. Great breakfast. Good location and slightly off the strip so better. Lots of restaurants and supermarkets around. Honestly don't have one negative thing to say. Pool is small but I could see that off pictures and it was a great little pool

The hotel was clean. There was no hot water only warm. While our room was supposed to be a suite with two rooms there was no place to sit down other than one of two kitchen chairs.

Good location, relatively quiet despite being close to the town center. Very poor interior lighting (e.g. difficult to see when shaving). Also, note that the main window in the room is facing the corridor so privacy can only be ensured by closing the curtains.

We felt safe. Good location about 150 meters from the main commercial road. Nice supermarket directly across the street, but no fridge or microwave in room. The room and pool were clean. Free breakfast was surprisingly good, although. Bed was comfortable, but headboard blocked electrical outlets, so we moved the bed. No chairs in room besides the sofa bed. Towels were a bit ragged. We didn't interact much with staff other than at breakfast.

This place is not a bad option. It's not expensive, the pool is nice enough, and some of the staff is very helpful (some less so, as is normal). The rooms, though, are dark and a bit dingy. There is simply no way for the light to get to the rooms, so you depend upon what may be the worst lighting I have ever seen in a hotel room. No bedstand lighting, harsh & insufficient ceiling lights & no outlets! It's pretty depressing, frankly - à la cheap roadside motels.The rooms are clean enough, although it may be time for a bit of a spruce up. However, the hotel is right on a busy road, so it's constantly noisy, & dusty, and the town is a bit rowdy, so not a lot of peace & quiet here. The location is fine--next door to a GREAT pollolandia, upon which you'll depend, as the food at this hotel is just not good. The breakfasts are an embarrassment--cut-up hot dogs? seriously? EXTREMELY greasy frozen hash brown thingies, fried eggs dripping with grease, pre-cooked, & stacked in a buffet. EXTRA greasy yuca served one day. Terrible toast & all the margarine you can eat. I begged for butter, but was told by a rather nasty woman that "Margarine. This is what we have!" But, one day, a magical employee who actually gave a damn brought me an entire stick of butter. I thanked him profusely, & explained that I only needed a Tablespoon, which he kindly brought to me for the subsequent breakfasts. So, bottom line--Coco is not a particularly nice town in which to stay, but this hotel is adequate.

The t v didn't work in the room was broken and they didn't replace it, and the shower head fell off and hit my girlfriend in the head

Great staff. Very accommodating. Wifi was an issue for a few days but staff went the extra to help with wifi sharing. Pool was lovely. Perhaps a few more options for breakfast but overall still very good.

El servicio del personal no es el mejor, parece que están enojados. Nunca funcionó la señal de tele, dijeron que era el servicio de tigo, pero ninguno de los dos días hubo señal y fue aburrido estar en la habitación porque debíamos descansar para el evento. No me dieron el te que pedí en el desayuno.

We checked in and found out the reservation was for one bed...not 2 beds (girl friends' trip). Esther, in reception, worked with us an d gave us an absolutely wonderful room! FYI, on Mondays, their restaurant is closed. Esther gave us an amazing recommendation, walking distance away, and we had a delicious dinner!

Hotel Colono is a gem! The rooms are clean, beds so comfy, walkable area, so close to the beach, pool is nice, and staff are truly exceptional!

The hotel stay was great and friendly staff the only reason I’m not giving them an excellent rating is because the check in was atrocious when we walked in there was no one waiting the front desk clerk was on the phone and she never acknowledged us she complained ignore us while she was on the phone very rude.

Carlos was a very good staff member. He would have her coffee ready in the morning and he was very nice. He will recommend as beautiful places where to go.

We stayed here just before Christmas and had a wonderful time! This small, family-friendly resort was perfect for our needs. The staff were exceptional—friendly, helpful, and quick to assist. Upon arrival, we encountered a small issue with the toilet overflowing, but maintenance and housekeeping promptly came to the rescue. They handled it efficiently, put us at ease, and when we returned from the beach, everything had been thoroughly cleaned up. Breakfast was included, and we thoroughly enjoyed it. There was a variety each day, featuring gallo pinto, eggs, sausage, fruit, and more. It was a great way to start our mornings. The premises also had security staff who were super friendly and provided excellent suggestions on places to visit and areas to avoid, which we really appreciated. We will definitely return and highly recommend this resort for its great service, welcoming atmosphere, and thoughtful amenities.

Clean, safe property. Close to all the action in Coco Beach, but just far enough away to be nice and quiet. Worth noting it is a 10 - 15 minute walk to the beach frim the property. The pool and the breakfast buffet were outstanding.

Convenient location. Across from grocery store. Short walk to the beach. Very clean and staff were very friendly and helpful. Extremely noisy with an eatery/bar next door. Traffic noise was horrendous. Motorbikes up and down the street all night. Would not stay here again.

We booked and paid for 3 nights but left a day early because it was impossible to sleep because of all the noise. We were by the pool and it was really loud, kids yelling, dogs barking, loud music from the next door bar, motorcycle traffic, car traffic. The noise would start again around 6am with hotel guests, traffic, etc. The toilet was hard to flush, shower leaked outside of shower.

Staff accommodated my request for a refrigerator in my room, switched me to a king suite that had one. The free breakfast was basic, yet consistent and the area directly across from the hotel has two markets and a convenience store, which is nice. Location off the main drag through town provides a little protection from the noise, but the hotel is not very well insulated for sound, can be noisy depending on where your room is on the property and the courtesy of the people in the adjacent room(s).

The best part of the hotel was the staff. Everyone was friendly and very helpful. The property is nicely located in town, but this does mean there is a fair bit of street noise. Breakfast being included every day was a nice feature, it did get a bit repetitive though. You have access to the Coco Bay Beach Club, which was amazing. The rooms themselves are basic, but manageable for a shorter stay.

I really enjoyed staying at this location it'll take you about 10 minutes to walk to the beach but the property is clean staff is awesome! Food at the onsite restaurant was fantastic breakfast was also very good staff willing to help and always possible.
