Beautiful hotel right near the beach. Great salt water heated pool.

The room was very comfortable; The shower had 2 rain heads and the bathroom floor was heated, which was very nice. There was a heated outdoor pool, and though I didn't use it, other people seemed to enjoy it. I had dinner in the Chair 5 bar, and the fish and chips were very good. The complementary buffet breakfast was delicious with a good selection. I went to The Break on a whim because I saw a video about it on YouTube, and even though I have a house nearby, I was curious to try it out and take advantage of off-season rates. I'd like too go back again.

Very nice employees. Very clean and attractive room. The exercise room is too small. It needs a treadmill too. The cookie jar needs to be filled. Perhaps a vending machine on the property would be useful. All in all it's a good place.

Everyone was so friendly and helpful. I love the fun decor and furnishings. Super comfortable bed. Best nights sleep. Many amenities. Bikes, beach chairs, beach towels and fresh baked cookies😃 Awesome heated pool. We had a wonderful three day stay. The Chair 5 dinner and breakfast was delicious. We are coming back🤗for sure

Everything was on point, Excellent interior design, spotless, service impeccable and friendly, food excellent, The pool was warm , clean and fabulous on a chilly day, the outdoor sauna was great. As guests we felt considered on every level with many unexpected extra comforts for example, fresh cookies in the hall way centers and a view of both sunrise and sunset. A super place from start to finish. We will absolutely return with pleasure

Very unique, retro decor. Nice extras such as heated pool, sauna, roof-top bar, and filtered water dispenser on each floor.

I was a little frustrated as we book the hotel, and we arrive at 7:30 and the restaurant was closed, they closed it hours early because they were slow. So we had to leave to eat, by the time we got back the receptionist leaves at 9;00 and there is no one to ask questions. per the reservation there is water in our room, there wasn't. And champagne something which we had no one to ask even what that was. In the morning we found out from housekeeping that the water is all the way down the hall on the other side of the elevators in the corner. We wish we had someone to ask or someone would have told us that. We booked the hotel based on the restaurant being open late. Then everything around it was closed so we drove 20 minutes to a place that was open.

Had been wanting to stay at the Break for a while and it did not disappoint. Well appointed boutique hotel with relaxed vibe and lots of fun amenities! Rooms are spacious restaurant and roof top bar are a big bonus too! Spa pool & sauna… that will be next time we visit

Outstanding property and staff is superior. Decor tremendous the Chris Wylie art is the anchor to the entire aesthetic of the interior. Two issue to mention. It is not comfortable to be at a hotel where the staff is gone by 4 pm. There are two many safety issues to not have at least one attendant to help the guests with the facility. Also please do something about the air on the third floor. If you can’t don’t rent those rooms unless you wish Overall a superb hotel.

It could have been cleaner. There were leaves and debris in the pool.

Our third time at The Break and it always exceeds our expectations. The rooms are beach chic and so comfortable with heated bathroom floors, gas fire place, huge tv, wet bar and luxurious linens (the bathrobes feel like Heaven). And we love watching the fish in the beautiful lobby tank. It's our happy place!

Hotel room was very nice. Super clean. Nice amenities. Quiet. Room gets an A. Restaurant on top floor is a solid B. Food was ok not great. Closes at 9. Restaurant staff was friendly. Extremely close to Block island ferry which is great. Definitely an A. Don’t be fooled by maps of how close you are the the beach though. It’s a private neighborhood so all those beaches are private and off limits to hotel guests. The nearest beach is a drive or a solid bike ride away. Rate: C If you are looking for great room the Break delivers. But for the cost it left plenty boxes unchecked. Overall: B- I would stay again but I would make sure to plan out my trip knowing that at the Break you’re not really near anything

Great hotel. However, the window seat had a cushion which had an ugly stain. Throw that cushion out.

Great hotel. Very well appointed from the lobby, to the pool area, the restaurant, the rooftop bar and the rooms. Breakfast was delicious with a great assortment of hot and cold items. If I’m going to nit pick, we had some small ants in the room that seemed to be coming from under the area rug. This area needs to cleaned and vacuumed better and some ant spray put down. Otherwise A nice stay that I would recommend.

We love The Break - the atmosphere, the throwback 60’s beach vibe, the colors, everything is very special and a great venue for our Anniversary. The rooftop deck bar was not operating but they allowed us to sit out there and enjoy a beverage of choice and relax by the ocean view. The only constructive feedback is the king bed in our room was a little rough. We will be back no doubt.

What a great property and a beautiful panoramic ocean view from our room. So relaxing to hear the surf from our room. The roof top bar area and view was wonderful. I highly recommend this chic boutique hotel. Plus only 3 minutes to the Block Island ferry and Point Judith.

We came in winter so the town isn’t buzzing like we assume it would be in summer. Hotel is bright, lovely, and inviting. Bed is comfortable, tv is huge, fireplace was a nice touch. The heated outdoor pool was a fun thing, the sauna wasn’t something to be desired. Breakfast was very nice and a great perk to the stay. Wish our room had a bathtub but other than that, literally you can’t complain about anything. The restaurant and bar weren’t open on Monday and Tuesday which was when we came, so we drove to some other towns for dinner, which was great. It took about 40 minutes to get to Newport and do those activities which were 5 stars.

Staff and hotel was great! Food on site needs improvement and pillows are very stiff. I’d stay there again just request different pillows or bring one and dine off site. Bar tenders are also lovely and the observation decks relaxing

The room was super clean with a large TV and gas fireplace stove. Balcony with view of ocean and a wonderful restaurant upstairs to eat dinner. We plan to be back when we are in this area.

This hotel is a true gem! We were fortunate enough to enjoy this property at the end of October when the weather was uncharacteristically warm. The pool was warm and wonderful. The owners of the hotel have thought of every detail from the wonderful staff, delicious included breakfast that exceeded our expectations, and fresh cookies left out every night. The decor is perfect coastal New England. Each floor has a water station, communal microwave, and ice available in the hallway. Be sure to check out the views from the roof deck. They're dreamy. Be sure to walk the trails near Scarborough Beach. I also recommend visiting the upstairs at George's for sunset. That's where the sunset view is, not on Narragansett Beach. The hotel is a short drive to the busier downtown area. We loved it! My only complaint is the lighting in the rooms & bathrooms. It made it difficult to put on makeup(and I don't wear much). If that's important to you bring a mirror. Also the room has a mini ironing board. A full size would be great or even better a steamer! Besides that it's a 10 out of 10. Just book it!!!

Beautiful rooms that were perfect for one of the rainy days. The neat fireplaces heated up the room well and made for a very cozy and nice day in. The whole property was clean and all of the staff were friendly, polite, and welcoming. We will definitely be back!

Im so sad the downturn of this hotel as we have been staying here for 10 years. It’s a cute little hotel with great amenities but this trip was horrific. From the room, ambience, cleanliness, amenities closed, noise, rude staff etc. First we had to completely change our plans as they messed up our reservation. they failed to honor the reservation made & thankfully the convo was recorded/time stamped. Their staff messed up. So we shifted our stay dates for their error. We were to stay a 3rd night on them for the error. But they charged us for the third night so it was a hoax. We arrived & the room they had for us was incorrect. Fine. But after night one we started to let the staff know of the excessive noise above us as well as a malfunctioning utility closet that kept us up all night. They ignored the issues. And no one was ever available at the desk to help! When I finally spoke with the manager, Kathryn, she was rude implying that it was ok as a family friendly hotel. Yeah… that’s not the issue. We bring our kids here all the time. The issue was the loud music and banging & partying through the late hours that they dismissed & didn’t address. She was rude, dismissive and judgmental. Finally one of the perks of this hotel is the amenities. The rooftop restaurant / bar. This was closed & was NOT disclosed on the website or when booking, so false advertising. Who closes their main amenities in prime August & doesn’t disclose it!? And still pay premium rates. Horrible

The Break Hotel is my new favorite spot. Great Location, Pristine rooms and Property, friendly and attentive staff. Rooftop Bar with access to both sunset side and sunrise side is amazing. I would highly recommend this hotel for a getaway. Troy

Reviews were pretty misleading. I was told the restaurant had a last seating at 7:30 and food would be available to go but everything was closed before 8 including the lobby that was completely dark. Breakfast was mediocre at best. Maybe it would be better in the summer? I also had a family in the room above me that just stomped at all hours of the night but with no overnight hotel staff there was no one to alert.

The staff were very polite and friendly. Extremely clean hotel with amazing food at their restaurant. Would definitely stay there again if I’m ever in the area.

This was our second time staying at the Break and will be coming back again! Staff is super friendly and helpful. We had a great couple massage at the spa. Close enough to all the activity of Newport, but calm and peaceful at The Break!

We paid in advance for a 2-night stay but missed the first night. When checking in, I asked if any accomodations could be made. I didn't expect a refund. I did anticipate a drink, meal, or other amenity. Kim, the manager, shared the message "we held your room." My response was "we paid for it!" Not hospitable or welcoming. I wouldn't return or recommend.

Perfect spot for a solo getaway. It's like a bed and breakfast, but with all the luxury of a hotel and chic vibe of a beach house. Restaurant and bar on-site is so great, saltwater pool was so beautiful, Dale from the spa was absolutely excellent and super talented, the staff all around was so friendly, location is so convenient, automatic gas fireplace in the room was a beautiful touch. I was able to visit 3 different beaches across 3 days (all within 10 minute drive of The Break) I will definitely be returning!

We loved location near beach. Excellent restaurants near by. Quiet boutique hotel Bright, clean friendly.Not a lot of activities in winter, but great for a relaxing get a way.

It was a lovely stay. The staff was very hospitable, breakfast and afternoon cookies were amazingly delicious, and the room was beautiful and calming (we chose an ocean view room). I would stay here again. Beaches are close by, and walking Scarborough Beach was peaceful - what my soul needed. Quiet area especially during off season.

We enjoyed our stay very much. The location is easy to get to with plenty of parking. The hotel is clean and bright, pretty adorable! We loved laying out by the pool and relaxing. We would definitely return.

We had a great stay at The Break. Such a lovely staff and the food is wonderful. We were disappointed that the rooftop restaurant was closed to guests. It was one of the reasons we wanted to return to the property and were surprised to hear it was closed.

The Break is an adorable property. The decor is very New England beach vibes and the location was perfect for me to get to the start line of a 10K. I’m looking forward to returning during the summer. Oh, the breakfast was delish, too!

My wife and I had stayed in an Ocean front suite here in Dec 2023 and were so excited to return only to find out things had 'changed' Prices soared in 1 year but we were still hopeful- Not the case- the room we got had a much smaller bathroom than the suite from last year- the pool wasn't as warm and the outdoor sauna was not on- you had to ask Plus the pool towels looked 10 years old - Then the biggest surprise was neither of their highlighted restaurants were open!! It was a holiday week -We were not planning on driving anywhere since this is a so-called resort- They only open the restaurant on Thurs Fri Sat Sun-BUT do not tell you that on the website -- Then all shut down at 8PM Lastly- the SPA massage for 1 hour was more expensive than NYC!! Go to Newport for this money-
