The absolute star if the show here is the inn owner Kathy! She is very knowledgeable about the area and even pointed out a great yarn shop down the road as she knew I was a knitter. The breakfasts were all unique, delicious and cooked to order each day with lots of fresh herbs. The communal areas were relaxing and practical with fridge, soft drinks, coffee/tea, ice and seemingly anything else you might need available 24/7. We were very anxious about being late for check-in by about 20 minutes, and whilst I'd certainly try and avoid checking in after about 5:30pm as there is no entry to the inn, we were very lucky that the host was there to meet us. Our room was on the ground floor and it was very clean and comfortable with plenty of clothes storage. The bathroom was on the smaller side, but it was clean and had everything you could need. The shower was a reasonable size, with good water pressure and lots of hot water. The air-conditioning throughout was also very effective on the steamy hot 3 days we stayed at the inn. There are restuarants within walking distance of the inn and a few basic shops. However, for us the high-end 24 hour laundry was an awesome convenience at the end of a long trip. This spot is also a good base to travel into Portland, as well as up and down the coast of Maine.
