The Old Smiddy Cottage and Apartment

Beautiful cottage both inside and in its location. Outside of the town centre, it was still close enough to walk to the local Co-op for supplies and into the town for access to the River Leven & Loch Lomond and the train station. I loved sitting outside next to the burn with a cup of tea in a morning, listening to the soothing sounds of the water and birdsong. Fiona, the host, was wonderfully welcoming and it was an idyllic home for our few days in Balloch.

Everything was clean, nice, and comfortable. Toys, books, and board games on site for the littles, and host was wonderful and helpful when we needed guidance on the local area. The location was perfect multiple grocery stores within 5 minute drive. Easy convenient access to the main road that led to multiple vacation hotspots. Was so nice to have a home like space to crash after long days of traveling and exploring Scotland. 10/10 would rent again.

We had a wonderful few days staying in The Old Smiddy cottage. Fiona and David were wonderful hosts, very attentive whilst being happy to give us our space. The cottage itself was very comfortable, all the rooms were a nice size, very clean and well presented. The garden was lovely and we particularly enjoyed watching the wildlife in the burn from the garden!The area is fantastic for enjoying nature and family activities.We would definitely recommend staying here for a couple or small family.
