Hotel Hi-Ho - Contactless Check-In

Ice machine doesn't work. No fridge or microwave. Easy access to Merritt parkway.

One of the cleanest hotels and properties I have stayed in. Onsite Tapas Restaurant was very nice. Had a lengthy wait to reach staff to get number to access lounge for ice.

Very basic, im not a fan of the cow throw pillows on the bed because clearly you cannot change the covers on them after each stay. The bed pillows were very flat as well. Overall the room was clean, there were 2 bottles of water and a cute little coffee maker. Parking was impossible because of the restaurant but we found a spot in about 10 minutes. At 7:30pm when i virtually checked in,i received an email saying my room wasnt ready. I called though and the woman pushed it through and sent me a code to a room, she was very nice. For a 1 night stay it really isnt bad but i wouldnt stay longer.

The hotel shares parking with a very popular restaurant. There were no parking spaces available to some hotel guests on Saturday night. The hotel touts itself as contact less; no staff on site. An alarm went off while I was there. What are you supposed to do? The hot water was dangerously hot and shot out of the faucet like a geyser. Yikes! But the place is clean and convenient.

This is a motel, not a hotel. All rooms are accessed from the outside. We were assigned a room on the second floor and had to carry all of our items up the stairs. Did not see an elevator. The room faced a very busy road, across the street from an active construction site, which began work at 7 AM. The AC/wall fan unit was so loud we had to turn it off. Cell/internet service was spotty. TV did not work. No outlet on one side of the bed. Furniture was chipped and dinged. The Nespresso-like coffee maker was very hard to figure out (had to find a YouTube video) and only two tiny pods were in the room. Each pod made an espresso with about 2 sips of coffee. No other coffee on site or nearby. Water pressure was weak. The room was clean and the bed was comfortable, so it met our basic needs. Would not stay here again.

It was way too expensive not to have a refrigerator in the room. Ice machine was not good. Would not book again.

Easy check in made right through my phone with keyless entry. No need to stop at a front desk it’s all done when you arrive. Room was small clean and comfortable for one night. Parking right out front in lot with wine shop that sells bottled water drinks and beers in first floor along with Barcelona wine bar that we went to for dinner and it was fabulous. Busy on a Saturday night, great cocktails food and people watching! Shower situation was fine, we took hot showers with bathroom door closed and kept the door closed when we were done showering . Would stay again and recommend.

Needs more parking due to the restaurant

Nice place. Rooms and beds are good. Not huge. Clean. Watch your knees and ankles cause the bed corners (though padded) stick out from mattress. The attached Barcelona restaurant and bar is a standout! Beer wine sangria, full bar with craft cocktails. Great tapas etc.

All self service rooms. No lobby or on site coffee station, but Barcelona wine bar was nice and interesting

These rooms smelled like mildew and smoke. We were moved from a room, to another and it was just as bad. The showers are newer but the carpeting is very yucky as well as stains on the wall. The only perk was their kind hotel manager who also runs a sister company, she tried to make it right, moved us to their other hotel The Circle, it was better than Hi Ho. I would not recommend this place.

This property was just fine. We were on the first floor corner, right next to the parking. It was a little loud. The bed comfort was about a 6.5/10. The room was clean, but that cleaning product had a funky smell. Overall, I would probably stay there again if there was no other option.

Hair everywhere, mold on bathroom ceiling badly touched up paint. at least one pillow cover was not replaced No personal on the location, check in is over the phone.

Our sheets were not clean, we had an ant problem, the fire alarm went off simply because we opened the bathroom door after a shower and the paint on the bathroom ceiling was peeling off. We have stayed here before and loved it. They clearly have not kept up at all. They have no one to check you in so when people come and have a problem getting in. They’re out on the sidewalk extremely loud as well as restaurant patrons so they keep you up at night.

The room was very clean. The best part is that its right off the merritt. Comfortable beds and great showers. The contactless checkin was a breeze and it was super easy to get into the room.

The room was clean but I noticed a musty or smoky smell when I walked in. It’s in close proximity to visit nearby family but being right off the highway it’s a bit noisy. The bed was very comfortable. Having the restaurant and liquor store downstairs is convenient. This is our second time staying here and for 1 night it is good for us.

The Hi-Ho is a lovely boutique hotel. I was lucky to be in a room that is not on the side of the Merritt Parkway, so it was a quiet night. While it is an easy on and off to parkway, there is nothing within the immediate area around the hotel for food or drink, unless you want to go to the wine bar. The room was very clean and comfortable.

There were cockroaches, blow dryer broken— not working, no lightbulb on ceiling— just lamps, lock on bathroom broken, no bathroom vent, only the air conditioning was good

I liked the easy check-in process and the room was OK but it was tired. The biggest issue was the heat/air conditioning unit. It was loud and cycled on and off frequently. It would also be more convenient to have a mini-fridge in the unit.

Clean room, easy in and out with no staff onsite but it worked for us. Only advice is don’t use plywood in place of a box spring - way too noisy when you move. The sensitive fire alarms are identified with signage but we were still woken up way too early because someone must’ve showered with door open.

Heater was so loud I had to leave it off, windows are leaky and sounds from the highway are loud, lame attempt at “boutique” vibe with cringe worthy art I wouldn’t stay again at $30 a night

TV is all streaming. The hotel should provide basic channels.

I like the very comfortable bed with pillows. Clean shower and The privacy window treatments and the secured locks on the doors.

I stayed one night with my boyfriend to visit with family nearby. The bed and pillows were very comfortable. The room was very clean but noticed some damaged bathroom tiles and patchwork on the walls. The door to the outside was drafty and we could see light coming in from under the door. As for the proximity to the highway and me being a very light sleeper, I needed to use a sound machine to sleep (my boyfriend couldn’t have cared less). I was kind of worried about the self check in but there were no issues at all. I would definitely stay here again because it was so close to where my cousin lives. The tapas bar and wine shop downstairs were a bonus!

The vibe of the hotel is great, so was the convenience of self-check in. (In fact I didn't receive the check in info by email and I was easily able to reach a human to resolve it.) However there is a restaurant on site that's open to the public and it plays loud music until kind of late. I had to put a white noise machine on to drown it out.

The room was very clean and is perfect for a quick stop off of the Merritt. However, the walls were thin and I could hear my neighbors talking. You can hear the traffic from the Merritt. But the room itself was clean and modern.

I love the location and how clean the rooms are. I also love the self-check in option. I feel safe and comfortable every stay. My only feedback is that it would be even better stay/convenience to have fridge and microwave option for future travelers who have extended stays. Also, the room numbers should be more visible in addition to the direction signs. It's uncomfortable as woman traveler to have to wander around the property vulnerable, especially at night looking for room numbers.

The check-in system is broken. Took several steps (calls and hold time with an overseas person) just to get the keypad combo for the room. No prior communication from the hotel, which was odd, as the pre-check-in process could have easily been done a day ahead of time. Actual room was perfectly fine and the Barcelona Wine Bar was quite good, but the check-in experience will mean that we do not return here as guests.

The contactless check in was beyond horrible. It took over 1/2 hour to check in after being asked to respond to text messages that took forever to come through. I had to finally complete the check in after 3 phone calls to the number they had listed. To make matters worse, after I got checked in had dinner and was back in my room about to go to seep, someone was attempting to use my door keypad to get into my room. I could here the guy on the phone saying to the same person I dealt with earlier that he was at his room and could not get in. I opened the door and the person trying to get into my room showed me on his phone that his text message showed my exact room number was his room. At that point the guy on phone told him his room was actually a different number and the text was wrong. VERY BAD CHECK IN PROCESS!!

This contactless hotel aren't early check in friendly, so if trying for that, expect to pay top dollar, even if you have stayed at their properties multiple times like we have. Zero customer service, just money driven.

The room was okay for the price, but we got woken up by roomservice unlocking our door at 9:30 AM, an hour and a half before check-out time. When I booked the room, it was made very clear that housekeeping only comes for 3+ night stays, every 3 days, at your request. We only had a single night stay, so we didn't expect house keeping to be coming while we were there at all. We thought we heard them knock on our neighbors door because they knocked so lightly, then we woke up to the keypad and someone opening our door with no time to respond. I do understand that mistakes can happen, but I just don't understand why staff would enter the room before we checked-out under any circumstances, especially without announcing themselves or making sure we heard them knock. If I had been traveling solo, this would've been terrifying. Completely ruined the experience. We won't be staying here again because our privacy was so invaded; I was nude in bed. The heater said it was set to 68 degrees, but it was unbearabley hot in the room at 1:30 am on a freezing cold night. I had a hard time sleeping due to how hot it was.

I’ve stayed here many times, great price, clean rooms, always communicative and responsive to my needs.

Checkin was a nightmare. No code. Hung up on. Then ignored. Checked in an hour after arrival.

Check in was miserable. The person on the phone at the Circle was the rudest hotel employee I’ve ever spoken to. He hung up on me and he yelled at me. Usually the Circle hotel people are A+, but yesterday the person was a nightmare. What a liability to your otherwise excellent operation.

It was late night and a last minute option to stay out in Fairfield because of work didnt want to go back an hour away to go home and return in the morn ...Even though there was no contact with front desk to check in or out ...The night was a very smooth transition to staying the night very helpful guest service

It is all very nice and smooth. I have stayed here several times. However this last time I had to call the management because it was time to check in and I hadn't received the email to complete the check in, so I couldn't get in right away. But I was happy that a person and not a recording took my call and solved the problem immediately. Besides this, it is always very nice. Also the staff and the food at the restaurant attached to the hotel, Barcelona, is amazing. I feel at home there.

When I arrived to check-in to the two queen bed suite (I believe it was Room 308) that I had reserved, my door code didn’t work. I had called previously to confirm my late arrival, so there would not be a problem. I had to call the no-contact style help desk for assistance. I was standing outside on the back side of the hotel in the pitch dark. My fault for thinking this tech-hotel crap was for me… It’s great in the hotel.com when you see it, but super inconvenient if you have a problem and need assistance. They had to reset the code and send it to me. Then I get into the room and discovered the deadbolt didn’t lock at all. The door was only secured with the auto lock. When I inspected the deadbolt, I noticed arm was nowhere near the hole in the door frame, so there’s no way it had locked/secured for previous guests. I’m a female Air Force veteran with PTSD (26 active-duty years) and personal security is top priority for me. I called to request a new room with 2 queen beds and was told they were fully booked, so I was given a single queen bed in a smaller room (I believe it was Room 311 or 313) that had a deadbolt that actually was installed properly and locked. Because I no longer had two queen beds, my goddaughter didn’t have a place to sleep because the room only accommodated my daughter and myself. I hated the entire situation and could not wait for this trip to be over.

What a great find. Nice accommodations. Loved the contactless check in and check out. Ample parking. Nicely decorated and great location right off the highway and also near downtown Fairfield for dining options.

Convenient location, close to the freeway. There’s an excellent restaurant in the facility and lots of of places that are close by driving distance for breakfast. There are several Tesla chargers if you drive an electric vehicle.

Nice location as we visited our daughter at SHU (< 10 min drive). Rooms are modern, comfortable bed and very nice bathroom. Good $$$ value.

The hotel is clean, the bed was comfortable and while it's not a traditional Chain Hotel I was pleasantly surprised. It was graduation weekend And it was convenient to the University.

We come here with some regularity over the past few years. It’s convenient, right off Merritt Parkway. It clean and cozy. We always enjoys it. But do miss the breakfast.

It is at a convenient location, right off the highway. However, currently, there is a construction site right across the hotel, so, the noise started early in the morning.

The room is good. The only complaint would be the room is near a heavy-traffic road. I heard cars passing by all the night, even heard one car crash.

It's super close to all of Fairfield and seconds from the Merrit Parkway. The highlight is Barcelona, great food and drinks! Always look forward to going to the bar after a long day.

We had a quick trip to Fairfield and we love this small Boutique hotel. It is clean and very comfortable. It has been updated. There is a fantastic restaurant on site and a well stocked wine store as well. We always stay here when we are in Fairfield.
