The bed and breakfast looks beautiful on the outside and we fell in love with the beautiful kitty Mable. Our room the Garden Room was just not what we were expecting.The first thing I noticed in the room was that the bathroom had used bottles of shampoo,conditioner etc to be used not what I was expecting. I went to take a shower and the water was not draining it was just staying at my feet the whole time and a piece of something black came up looked like an eyelash.. then we went to breakfast. For breakfast scrambled eggs with peppers and 1 piece of bacon and a breakfast bowl. And we all sat there eating with no napkins. We were so disappointed we cut our trip short because we were not sure of the cleanliness of the place.

Silver Lake Inn is an amazing bed-and-breakfast. From the beautiful scenery to the historical house to the lovely room with the comfortable bed and great shower. The hospitality of the innkeepers was outstanding. We really enjoyed our stay very much. So much so that I’m already thinking about booking it for next year. If you stay here, you will not be disappointed.

This bed and breakfast is in a rural area and the country is beautiful. It fits right in with its log cabin base. Although it is actually made with part of a log cabin, it has been added to and remodeled with all the modern amenities. The decor is very light and airy and there are plenty of windows. It is beautifully done and very comfortable. The breakfast was fantastic. I only wish we could have stayed there longer.

The staff was not there in person upon arrival, however they provided details (including photos) photos that made check in very easy. Breakfast was delicious and I was able to get back on the road quickly.

Hosts Kayla and Rob were great hosts. Nice breakfast. Great quiet property nestled among cornfields and vineyards. Close to several wineries and close access to Skyline Drive in the Blue Ridge Mountains. We will definitely be back.

Our stay at Silver Lake was perfect. Quiet, peaceful, beautiful views, and convenient to Harrisonburg for evening meals. We could have stayed an extra day just to sit on the porch with a glass of wine and a book. Morning coffee on the porch was the perfect start to the day.

Such a gorgeous property and the innkeepers are fantastic. Only 10 minutes drive from the JMU campus and Harrisonburg but you’ll feel like you are in the middle of farming country. Also didn’t jack up their rates over family weekend, unlike all the hotels in town - can’t recommend this highly enough!
