Heritage Inn Hotel

More security for the doors.

It was convenient to our graduation activities at Luther Prep School, No elevator

This hotel was by far the least expensive on a particular weekend when other hotels had nearly tripled their nightly rates due to some local event. It seems to not be part of a chain, and is located on main street of the town (but not noisy). There is no elevator for the upper floor; stairs only. The hallways seem much narrower than others I have experienced, but everything seems to be well maintained and clean enough. The man at the check-in counter was probably the owner, and the only other staff I saw was very friendly and helpful. My room, probably typical for this place, was fairly large, with more open floor space than usual for an American motel; in addition to the usual furnishings, it had a sofa and coffee table. There was a sink in the bathroom and another nearly identical sink just outside the bathroom; this can be convenient for couples and families. The under-window HVAC unit was situated so it blew the air up behind the curtains, not ideal. I bunched the bottom of the curtain up onto the window sill and used the alarm clock to weight them down so they would not move during the night, and this allowed the cooled air to actually enter the room instead of just recirculating back to the unit. The bed had only one end table, and amazingly it was not equipped with a lamp. No light source for reading in bed, etc. I was told that none of the rooms had end table lamps, but the staff found a suitable lamp somewhere and brought it to my room.

The room was clean although a little outdated. A sink in the bathroom and one out which is a bit different but worked travelling with a teenager. Beds were not very comfortable but clean sheets. No security in the lobby. At 7 am, no one at the desk but anyone was able to walk into the lobby and access rooms. No requirement to use key to key to get in the building.

We really needed to have handicap bars in the bathroom for my husband and myself. My husband is a has a handicap that’s distinctive. They had no rooms that have any kind of handicap facilities so that was a bit disappointing having to be even more careful in the room breakfast area, which were used to having Didn’t find a swimming pool and it didn’t say there was no swimming pool. Other than that. It was nice. My husband was able to walk downtown and back without too much difficulty.

Lobby area & hallways have a strong smoking smell. Property is very out dated. Air conditioning in our room did not work. A new unit had to be installed. There was only one outlet that worked in our room for us to use. The box mattresses are stained. The bedding was awful. There is no elevator. We will never come back!!

Check in i had to wait a half an hour to answer the bell, i didnt like that the owner took a picture of my drivers license back and front. Once in the room i had to get new batteries for remote, the heat did not work and had to get a heater in room. The owner was willing to give us another room but then we would of had to oack up everything including dog crate. When i registered for this room thru you it stated there was contential breakfast nope none. The floors in room were dirty,i had to wipe up water from my dog and towel was black. The 302.00 i spent on this room was not worth it. Soda and candy machines empty.Had to get bottled water from manager. I would not recommend this place to anyone til they get it cleaned up.

The staff are friendly and helpful but the room is kind of gross. Shower curtain needs to be changed, or at least washed. Mattress cover is worn out and bumpy. Pillows are very flat and uncomfortable. Pillow cases are grayish-yellow instead of white. Fan on the ac won't turn off. No elevator.

Everything is just old. No computer even to check in. Still a notpad and pencil. The microwave couldnt be pluged in on the stand they have it on so i had to put it on the end table. The TV takes 5 to 10 min to find signal to watch it. There are two vending machines but both are off so nothing to eat or drink on the premises. The area just gives off junkie vibes i definitely didnt feel as safe as other hotels ive been to

AC did not work. No USB ports anywhere in room. Fire pit in back lot.

Bed was hard as a rock towels were dirty 1 sink worked 1 did not had to unplug and replug and repeat to get heat to work

Room was dirty. Blood on sheets and pillow case. Bed is old and uncomfortable. Everything smelled like smoke.

The room smelled molding it didn't feel like the comforter was washed. Rooms were very paper thin.

The room smelled and was very hot when entering. The bed had hair (not just one from when it was made), stains and dead bugs in it. There was dead bugs in the bathroom. My husband found the manager and they went to checked another room. The bed was just as bad. We were told excuses (we are the new managers and we have new sheets on order). They did offer for us to check a 3rd room. But after 2 dirty rooms we were done. We left and found another hotel. I wouldn't recommend it to anyone.

Very friendly owner. Clean, but dated, very spacious hot tub room. Pet friendly. Quite a few MONTHLY residents. Only negative, the mattress was rock hard, good thing we had the hot tub to straighten out my back in the morning.

Nice, clean but could do with some minor renos. Nothing serious, mostly crackfill and paint.

The rooms are nice and clean o travel all over the country and this is one of my favorites places to stay nice and clean

The room air conditioner wasn’t working properly because the room had condensation on the surfaces of the furniture. The lamp between the beds had a short in it so we didn’t use it. I also asked to extend the our visit by 1 day and they said no problem but they would not do it unless we moved to a different room. Who wants to pack up and move to another room for 1 night so we left. The room was for my family that came to visit and if I had known earlier about the problems I would have not had them stay there. Next time they come to town they will NOT be staying there.

Quiet room, Air condditioner and TV worked well. Shower worked okay but plumbing fixtures were not in good repair. Beds comfortable, towels a little thin.

The exterior and public areas look a little run-down, but the room was surprisingly good. My big complaint is the lack of lighting in a very large room. It was like being in a cave. One dim overhead light and only two dim lamps on opposite corners of a large suite with a king and two queen beds.

Though Watertown is smaller than Madison or Milwaukee, Heritage Inn still manages to be close enough to the Main Street for street noise to permeate the room. The bathroom is older but clean and effective. I picked it for its proximity to the other towns and this worked great for that.

When we checked in and had a dirty room they were very quick to remedy the situation.

I liked when came in lobby was clean ,the front desk gentleman had a smile and greeted me kindness, gentleman let me know he was new owner and , good conversation.front desk was fast too.room was very big , great deal. Some things could be updated but overall quiet, nice ,close to walking to have drink and shopping.i would go again .only thing i would say is maybe fluffier pillows other .great stay thank you.

The owner and his staff really make an effort to do things right. Compared to the big national chains, these people are way out in front! I'll be back!

We booked a king room and we're upgraded to two queens in a suite. It was a very nice room and the beds were comfortable. The service was great too, just wish they had breakfast. We'll certainly be back.

Friendly desk staff let me check in early without charging me.

Only stayed for one night. Property was convenient to the venue of my nephews wedding.

Would never get a room here again, overall experience was terrible. Guy that checked me in was super pleasant and effective at his job. Property itself did not feel safe, would not recommend for anyone with children.

It's a very nice older property. Easy walking distance to downtown, which was my most important attribute.

Let me tell you what. I book ALOT of rooms all over Wisconsin for my business. I always try to support small businesses when I can vs chain hotels. I’ve had some great experiences & some not great experiences over the past decade BUT THIS HOTEL is the BEST Cleanest and Cutest little hotel I’ve ever stayed it! The new owners are super nice and welcoming. I spoke to the owner and theyve done a lot of work on the property to improve it and you can tell! The rooms were clean, beds were comfy, and it was quiet. I’m telling you from experience not all “mom & pop hotels” are created equally and this is a TOP PICK for us if you’re in the area! It’s halfway between Milwaukee & Madison so easy traveling! Highly Recommend. Book it.

Room was clean, place was quiet. I felt safe and the location worked well for me. Decent price. I’d absolutely stay there again!

Booking was simple as well as check in & out. Snacks and water were in my room, that’s a first and very cool! Room was spacious, and I was quite pleased to have a room without nasty carpeting. I suggest throw carpets on the laminate flooring to soften the space. A/C functioned, but only cooled down when set to 60’. The bed is huge and comfy, but the metal frame the mattress sets upon made irritating sounds whenever I shifted myself or got on and off the bed. But it was huge and comfy. We all at the inn experienced a horrible storm one evening, blowing up a transformer two blocks away, knocking out all power in the area. Tornado spotted, too. That could not be helped, and staff seemed eager to offer assistance but had no real emergency plan, at all! The best thing about the Heritage Inn was location and size of the space I stayed in. It is right at the edge of town and I loved that! Close to many kayaking spots and historic places like the 5 story Octagon House, wonderful! Very nice staff, but it’s obvious they are new at motel management. I don’t care for places that offer permanent housing to locals, either. Makes it seem like an apartment rather than a vacation holiday motel/hotel/inn. Get me?

This is small rural town in PA —local hotel on main drag, modest setting and environs.. the owners checked me in. Very quiet , pleasant. And inexpensive. Room impeccably clean. Not aspiring to be the Ritz. Even had free chips (Fritos) with free bottled water.
