Host JP is a true Northeast Kingdom character and his in is, as he'll tell you,"Just like Grandma's house only Grandma isn't home"! The Inn is chockablock with curated antiques of which you'll wish you owned at least three. JP welcomes guests to store food in the fridge, cook and share meals and make their own outdoor fires in a large fire pit. He is almost instantly available should you need his help day or night. And the lake! The Wisconsin Ice carved Seymore, Willoughby, Island Pond, Crystal and Salem lakes giving this area deep clean cold water, loons, eagles, amazing open water distance swims and extraordinary beauty.

Very quiet place in a countryside beside a huge lake, old style bungalow apartments, very welcoming and helpful staff. There is a large kitchen, dinning and living areas for all guests. Breakfast was included within a an affordable price. Old antique building but I liked it ver much. I would definitely go back.

It is like walking into your grandmother's house, or the most delightful antique store. No bells or whistles, just real comfort, peace and quiet, an old-fashioned atmosphere. Cozy and unique. View of the lake (kayaks available) from a porch (with real porch swings!) and a common area just like an old lodge (which it is--such history!). I adored it.

Our experience at Seymour Lake Lodge started with an upgrade for free. The property manager was very friendly and understood our struggle of working in the woods on our new property. That may seem trivial but he explained things quickly and left us to our hot showers and an immediate nap. The property has rustic charm. You can light a fire out back or just sit on your private porch and watch the sun go down with the beautiful view of the lake. Dining is about 11 minutes up the road, so all in all, this was the perfect stay.

A very enjoyable stay. We especially like sitting on the porch swing overlooking the Lake. It was also a blessing to use the refridgerator, re-freeze our ice-packs, and use the kitchen to make dinners.

It was a great stay! The man who lives on the property greeted us, showed us around, told us about breakfast in the morning and shared some history about the lodge. The lodge has a great view of the lake and we chose the room with the balcony so it was fantastic being able to go out and just sit and enjoy the view. The weather wasn't the greatest but nevertheless it was a great trip. The only thing that would have made it better was if the bed didn't squeak so bad and no matter how many times we tried to stay on our own sides of the bed, we kept sliding into the middle.

This is a perfect getaway lodge for those looking for a more nature-based vacation. Stayed at the room with the queen sized bed and private bathroom. Room was clean and cozy. Bathroom very spacious. Only downside with the bathroom sink is that it takes a while to drain after using. Continental breakfast available in the mornings. Location wise, the lodge is about 28 minutes from Lake Willoughby and about an hour from the major cities such as Stowe and Newport. Beautiful scenic lake view that compliments the overall aura. Overall, I recommend this place for those looking for a Fall Getaway. It really does live up to its name of #1 Vacation Spot in Vermont :) Would stay here again!

Mom and I wanted a little getaway off the grid. Lake Seymour Lodge was perfect! Absolutely beautiful drive in through VT hills and the lake is right across the street. The lodge is so unique...very rustic with endless little antiquated and historic touches throughout every room to enjoy. Facilities were clean, beds surprisingly comfortable. There are a few shared bathrooms, but they were clean and not any issue. And mom had a room with a private bath which was nice for her. My room had a great roof balcony that looked out over the lake! Very simple continental breakfast items available ...cereal/bagels/oatmeal. Met some other guests in common areas great for interesting conversations. And owner JP and mgr Rob were extremely welcoming and personable and made our experience even more enjoyable. Restaurants are within 20 minutes. Would definitely return!

The host was super nice and very helpful. We were unaware of the room being on the second floor as I have mobility issues and that we would have to share a bathroom with the other guests. We ended up having to pay extra to have the small apt on the side. The rugs were disgusting and the bathroom was as well. We wanted to sit outside but even out on the porch was not clean. I was told by the keeper that Expedia limits the description of the rooms. Was not good. My over all opinion is very poor. The only thing this place as to offer is the magnificent view. Not worth the money.

The hotel was in a very old house with lots of cool antiques and very well maintained. The staff was super friendly. It was my first time having to share a bathroom, which isn't really my thing, but we had a short stay, so it was fine. The bathroom was cozy and clean. Great location right in front of the water.

Friendly staff. Layout of apartment is a little unusual. It appears to have been a conversion of part of the main building. I would stay there again. It's not as nice as many of the other places we have stayed, but it's good for what it is.

Lots of antiques and like a step back in time. The old fashioned lodge on the lake. SHARED bathroom in hallways. Can hear people in the room next door. Creepy bed. Just know it’s eclectic. Continental breakfast. Host is super friendly. I loved it but my 26 year old doesn’t appreciate the old things as much.

It reminded me very much of when I used to stay at my Grandparents house in the 70's. my only complaint would be that the room was very small and tight and that the second bed in the room was horrible, the springs almost come up thru it. that said if i was looking for a place to stay on the lake at a reasonable price i might go back.

Really charming place, really friendly host. Right near a beautiful lake, with lots of room to sit on the porch. A little warm upstairs in July, but we had a fan & a sliding door to let cooler air in at night.

Stayed here back in late April which was perfect because it wasn’t quite peak season for this area. The owner even upgraded me to a balcony room which was greatly appreciated. So sorry my review was so late but the stay here was perfect. The owner and/or inn keeper was very friendly and we had multiple long conversations about the area, the history of the lodge and how wonderful Vermont really is. He told me about the garden he keeps in the back and how the rain storms last year really affected the fall foliage in the whole of the state. Plenty of older and replica lamps, computers and other kinds of antiques. Very cool stuff. The room was perfect for just a one night stay. I drove up from NJ just for a day or two trip and needed something last minute. I’m glad I chose Seymour Lake Lodge. There was no TV in the room and the WiFi and cellular network was slow but it’s out in the country so I totally get it. I think it’s great to disconnect from reality for a bit. The bathroom got the job done. Shower was a bit iffy but I made it work without issues. Thanks for the awesome experience! Mike.

When we arrived, we were surprised to find no one to greet us. The room was ok, but far too small for 2 people. There was not much space to move around. The floor was not solid and there was no insulation between the rooms. We could hear the voices of our neighbors even with the sound of the TV, which had streaming services like Netflix (which was good), but it was broken. The breakfast was not good. Apart from the coffee, the rest of the food offered was very low quality and stale . A low cost hotel with its drawbacks

Drove up the state in a pretty bad storm and arrived at the inn with no power. Regardless of no power we had an amazing time! There was efforts in the morning to get coffee and breakfast made even without the power. As we were leaving the owner showed up and was very friendly! They really care about their guests

I drove up from NJ just for a day or two trip and needed something last minute. I’m glad I chose Seymour Lake Lodge. There was no TV in the room and the WiFi and cellular network was slow but it’s out in the country so I totally get it. I think it’s great to disconnect from reality for a bit. The bathroom got the job done. Shower was a bit iffy but I made it work without issues. Thanks for the awesome experience! Mike.
Stayed here back in late April which was perfect because it wasn’t quite peak season for this area. The owner even upgraded me to a balcony room which was greatly appreciated. So sorry my review was so late but the stay here was perfect. The owner and/or inn keeper was very friendly and we had multiple long conversations about the area, the history of the lodge and how wonderful Vermont really is. He told me about the garden he keeps in the back and how the rain storms last year really affected the fall foliage in the whole of the state. I needed a place to stay while helping my son move, and I’m glad I found this place. The owner and caretaker were very helpful. The room was clean and comfortable. The lodge is old and has a lot of history behind it. After I checked out, the owner called to say that I had left some items behind. I was still in the area and was going back to get them, but the owner offered to bring them to me. How’s that for going above and beyond?

When we arrived, we were surprised to find no one to greet us. The room was ok, but far too small for 2 people. There was not much space to move around. The floor was not solid and there was no insulation between the rooms. We could hear the voices of our neighbors even with the sound of the TV, which had streaming services like Netflix (which was good), but it was broken. The breakfast was not good. Apart from the coffee, the rest of the food offered was very low quality and stale . A low cost hotel with its drawbacks

The host, Bob, was a delight. I needed to make a last minute change and he made it easy! The location is stunning and peaceful. It is only 22 minutes from Newport, VT which is another cute town with a beautiful lake. My mom came with me on my business trip and she was charmed by the winter vistas.

Our experience at Seymour Lake Lodge started with an upgrade for free. The property manager was very friendly and understood our struggle of working in the woods on our new property. That may seem trivial but he explained things quickly and left us to our hot showers and an immediate nap. The property has rustic charm. You can light a fire out back or just sit on your private porch and watch the sun go down with the beautiful view of the lake. Dining is about 11 minutes up the road, so all in all, this was the perfect stay.

I wasn't sure what to expect of the Seymour Lake Lodge when I booked it on Hotels.com. Was I pleasantly surprised! It is an old converted farmhouse, with tons of character, and all the modern conveniences. The room was adequate and comfortable, the view of the lake was stunning, both from my room, and the large front porch! A huge yard for walking my dog. Had lengthy conversations with the property manager and another guest. One of my most memorable stays.

A very enjoyable stay. We especially like sitting on the porch swing overlooking the Lake. It was also a blessing to use the refridgerator, re-freeze our ice-packs, and use the kitchen to make dinners.

Very quiet place in a countryside beside a huge lake, old style bungalow apartments, very welcoming and helpful staff. There is a large kitchen, dinning and living areas for all guests. Breakfast was included within a an affordable price. Old antique building but I liked it ver much. I would definitely go back.

This is a perfect getaway lodge for those looking for a more nature-based vacation. Stayed at the room with the queen sized bed and private bathroom. Room was clean and cozy. Bathroom very spacious. Only downside with the bathroom sink is that it takes a while to drain after using. Continental breakfast available in the mornings. Location wise, the lodge is about 28 minutes from Lake Willoughby and about an hour from the major cities such as Stowe and Newport. Beautiful scenic lake view that compliments the overall aura. Overall, I recommend this place for those looking for a Fall Getaway. It really does live up to its name of #1 Vacation Spot in Vermont :) Would stay here again!

Mom and I wanted a little getaway off the grid. Lake Seymour Lodge was perfect! Absolutely beautiful drive in through VT hills and the lake is right across the street. The lodge is so unique...very rustic with endless little antiquated and historic touches throughout every room to enjoy. Facilities were clean, beds surprisingly comfortable. There are a few shared bathrooms, but they were clean and not any issue. And mom had a room with a private bath which was nice for her. My room had a great roof balcony that looked out over the lake! Very simple continental breakfast items available ...cereal/bagels/oatmeal. Met some other guests in common areas great for interesting conversations. And owner JP and mgr Rob were extremely welcoming and personable and made our experience even more enjoyable. Restaurants are within 20 minutes. Would definitely return!

Drove up the state in a pretty bad storm and arrived at the inn with no power. Regardless of no power we had an amazing time! There was efforts in the morning to get coffee and breakfast made even without the power. As we were leaving the owner showed up and was very friendly! They really care about their guests

The manager was very respectful, sociable and very pleasant. He was always available to help. The only cons from my point of view, was the breakfast. I don't know...maybe this is a usual Vermont breakfast, but I would have call it snack, nothing more.

Becca was very helpful and kind. We booked the stay last minute on a long drive and were arriving late. She left us easy instructions for our after hours arrival. The room was clean, quaint and the bed very comfortable. The bathroom also clean, soaps and towels were provided. They have a lovely view of the lake which a porch and chairs on the front porch. Wish we could have stayed longer and would book again if we are up that way. Breakfast in the morning was self serve with coffee, juice and waffles.
