Lovely owner who runs the bar downstairs where we had breakfast to start each day of our stay. Wonderful informative staff happy to lend guidebooks etc. Absolutely on the doorstep of sites to see. It is possible to park in a pay for nearby carpark on the river front for up to 72 hours. Be aware there are lots of steps up to the room and as it is near the tunnel the road is relatively busy. Neither of these were an issue for us but might be for some. Superb stay and we would like to thank My Ribeira Guesthouse for everything including some Portuguese language lessons and the chance to listen to some old favourite albums on the record player in our room x

The location is great, everything is really close and walkable :) the house is modern and has a cute little café included. Everything was clean and the little included kitchen is nice. The only issue is that the street is very loud, even if the windows are closed…

Fabulous position, lovely and comfortable room, super breakfast and no key access to property and room made life easy Only problem had more to do with our ages and fitness level! We were on 4th floor so 72 steps each time (no lift) Tricky with suitcases. Small kitchenette had no dish cloth or tea towel, also only one coffee mug + no coffee etc on arrival although we were given coffee, milk and sugar when we asked. Very enjoyable stay right by the river

happy with the hotel - in a good location despite the loud traffic noise from ambulances and motorcycle groups - no elevator and 80 steps and good exercise for us - beautiful rooms and a view of the bridge - chose a room with a balcony and then we had to be on the 4th floor

Great experience! Very friendly host, wonderful cafe on the ground floor for breakfast (owned by same people), great location. It is right next to the tunnel, so while there is some road noise, the shutters close on the french doors and it blocks it out well. The view of the river and fortress across the way is very nice!! 10/10

what a wonderful character hotel on the edge of the old time and a short stroll from the river. The staff were fabulous, with breakfast being served in the small cafe below. There are however tow down sides, all rooms are reached by stairs with no lift and we struggled to carry or cases to the third floor. There is quite a bit of road noise as the hotel is situated at the mouth of the road tunnel. This said we would definitely return, a little gem. Next door is a brilliant wine bare (The Wine Box’ serving excellent wine and food, they also offer tasting sessions, a must for your visit. Hotel arranged an airport transfer for 30 euros 👍

Super fint sted, dejligt miljø, liv og gode spisesteder. Rent, pænt og venligt personale. Ligger lige ud til en tunnel og meget trafikeret vej, så man skulle kunne lide støj og larm. Vi valgte en offentlig parkeringskælder tæt på, obs. ekstremt dyr.

Staff is super sweet and will help with any inquiry you have. The Studio Room, is pretty and super functional with a small kitchen. Property is clean and the bed is comfy. Downstairs on the first floor you have a lovely coffyshop/bar where you can have you breakfast, if you do wish to have it included in your reservation. The location is perfect, just a street away from the riverside.

One of the nicest rooms I have stayed in. Great character with modern and rustic design, and always a bonus having a kitchenette with fridge. The location means you are a stones throw from the river and its bustling dining and tourist culture. The only negative is being located on a main road, however there is air con and window shutters to help manage the noise especially at night. The cafe is very good for breakfast also. Highly recommended.

The location is very good and central. I am able to walk to all the tourist spots and feel safe. The breakfast was great and I enjoyed it and looking forward to it every morning. The room is spacious and clean. There is no elevator so I have to carry my big luggage on the stairs to my room. There is also no one clean my room throughout my 5 nights stay at the hotel. These are the reasons I only give 4 stars. I will stay here again when I visit Porto. I will also recommend this hotel to my friends and family.

The guest house is very centrally located in the Ribeira area and the room was spacious, lean and the bed was comfortable. The price was a steal. The staff were very nice to deal with and breakfast was delicious. Excellent coffee. My room was on the third floor and there was no lift so got a bit of exercise in as well. I knew this was the case when I booked so was prepared for it. Because it is central and on a busy street, it is noisy but I felt the location more than made up for that.
The guest house is very centrally located in the Ribeira area and the room was spacious, lean and the bed was comfortable. The price was a steal. The staff were very nice to deal with and breakfast was delicious. Excellent coffee. My room was on the third floor and there was no lift so got a bit of exercise in as well. The hotel was very cute and well kept. It only has stairs, so keep that in mind that you'll have to carry your luggage up flights of stairs. The room had a little kitchenette with a stove and fridge. The bathroom wad clean with great water pressure. The shower is tiny, so if you are a larger sized person or have mobility issues this may not be the place for you. The hotel is right on a busy/noisy street below. Cars were honking and motorcycles revving late into the night. I had read previous reviews and was prepared with earplugs. But I can and did sleep through anything and had no need for the earplugs. The hotel is very centrally located and within walking distance to most everything. It is also easily accessible to public transportation. I was a solo female traveler. It felt very safe, even returning late at night. It is connected with the cafe next door. The staff could not have been nicer, more attentive, or helpful. They also paid attention to my daily breakfast requests, which was delicious and filling. Would absolutely stay there again. Thank you for a wonderful stay!

Beautifully restored property, clean and felt safe. Busy vibrant area near river. Can be a little noisy at night due to passing traffic but didn’t affect sleep. If visiting the city again I would definitely stay here again.

What a perfect spot! So happy we found this place! Room 7 is amazing with the balcony. Even more perfect that we were there for Festa de Sao Joao! Fernando was great and so helpful too.

Our room at My Ribeira Guest House was the perfect stay for a couple of days in Porto. It was very cozy, yet hip. The provided turntable was a very nice extra touch. We listened to Fado and old Disco while the light rain splattered outside. We had everything closeby at a walking distance; the river and bridge, the old town, shops and restaurants. The staff also pointed us in the direction of the neighborood of Aforada, where we ate incredible seafood in a small-town setting. Highly recommended.

Great location, super close to the river and lots of other attractions. Amazing staff and cafe right in the hotel. I loved the stone walls in the room and simple decor! Kitchenette was a bonus but I didn’t use it. Too many great food options around! Only downfall was the noise from the street but that’s hard to avoid when you are so close to “the action” I highly recommend this place!

The room was lovely and clean. The bathroom is super tiny, one has to close the entry door before the dhowet door can be opened. Also. There was not a word about the steep stsirs to a 3rd floor unit. I am 74, husband is 77. I would have never booked this if I had advance knowledge. Luckily we are git and agile. The checkin is run out of the coffee shop next foor which closes at 5. We finally found it at 6:30. Anna waited for us, but she was on her way out the door!

Location is convenient but very noisy since the property locate on the main big street. Breakfast is good. Be aware of AC/heat are climate control so it’s very inconvenient. The night before checked out water dripping have to wait until the morning since there wasn’t service available.

Transport to and from airport arranged together with an amazing trip up the Douro valley with wine and port tasting and a great meal at a local restaurant. Good selection of wines and snacks. Check in was easy and the staff was friendly. Unfortunately the communication after check in was lacking due to Porto’s annual São João festival. We couldn’t get into the building late at night and tried calling and texting the emergency WhatsApp line but no one responded to help us. Others were stuck outside too. There was no apology or concern the following day to make sure we were ok. We didn’t sleep well that night due to music blasting on the streets outside (not the hotels fault). Overall this hotel would probably be nice to stay at any other time. The rooms were nice but the record player didn’t work and there was no coffee or kitchen utensils offered despite having a kitchenette.
Check in was easy and the staff was friendly. Unfortunately the communication after check in was lacking due to Porto’s annual São João festival. We couldn’t get into the building late at night and tried calling and texting the emergency WhatsApp line but no one responded to help us. Others were stuck outside too. There was no apology or concern the following day to make sure we were ok. We didn’t sleep well that night due to music blasting on the streets outside (not the hotels fault). Overall this hotel would probably be nice to stay at any other time. The rooms were nice but the record player didn’t work and there was no coffee or kitchen utensils offered despite having a kitchenette.

Great stay in a hostel (albergue) setting, reception personnel excellent. Choose private rooms it’s not expensive and you get privacy. Bus stop is 5 to 10 min walk from rooms. Things to consider taking waterproof shoes, light rain coat and an umbrella. Awesome place wouldn’t miss this trip. Thanks to the staff!!!!!

Great experience! Very friendly host, wonderful cafe on the ground floor for breakfast (owned by same people), great location. It is right next to the tunnel, so while there is some road noise, the shutters close on the french doors and it blocks it out well. The view of the river and fortress across the way is very nice!! 10/10

what a wonderful character hotel on the edge of the old time and a short stroll from the river. The staff were fabulous, with breakfast being served in the small cafe below. There are however tow down sides, all rooms are reached by stairs with no lift and we struggled to carry or cases to the third floor. There is quite a bit of road noise as the hotel is situated at the mouth of the road tunnel. This said we would definitely return, a little gem. Next door is a brilliant wine bare (The Wine Box’ serving excellent wine and food, they also offer tasting sessions, a must for your visit. Hotel arranged an airport transfer for 30 euros 👍

My Ribieria Guest House is situated in the middle of a World Heritage neighborhood and is a very desirable place to stay. The building has been carefully and tastefully updated with all the modern conveniences except there is no elevator, so take note. The stairs were not a problem for us. We only had one night in Porto, we so glad we stayed here.

Location is top notch- enjoyed being close to the river and still in walking distance to all the neighborhoods of interest. We worried ribeira was too touristy, but this was off the main drag and didn’t feel too touristy at all! The staff was delightful and helpful with recommendations, storing bags post-check out, etc. We read many reviews about noise being too much - while we heard traffic through the windows throughout the day, we slept soundly! Don’t let it scare you away from this gem (or just bring ear plugs if you’re a light sleeper).

A localização é bastante central a cidade do Porto, praticamente todos os pontos turísticos da cidade estão próximos. A única ressalva é que a localização acaba tendo barulho durante o dia, mas a noite não tivemos nenhum problema.

Camera davvero bella, un po’ rumorosa per via del tunnel trafficato a pochi metri dall’albergo, comoda e spaziosa, con piccola cucina che personalmente nn abbiamo utilizzato. Unica pecca, la colazione che è disponibile solo in versione dolce (in questo caso molto invitante), nn c’è possibilità per chi nn può mangiare dolci di ripiegare su qualcosa di salato.

Wonderful small cafe very centrally located. Not good for light sleepers due to an immense noise from the road tunnel opening right below our windows. A lot of noisy speeding up, honking and yelling. Super friendly and communicative staff. And lovely breakfast!
