The Beach Club at Charleston Harbor Resort and Marina

The property is very pretty with a nice view of the harbor. For the price of the accommodation, we were surprised that there isn’t a bell hop or anyone to assist with luggage at the entryway. There are no restaurants or shops in the two hotel buildings, so you have to go outside and into another building. We waited an hour to get our food the first morning at breakfast. Had a dinner reservation, which I cancelled. Did not dine there again, despite the lovely view of the USS Yorktown and the Ravenel Bridge. Had to summon housekeeping twice to have our room made up. The pool was very nice and big. The hot tub was good, too. There’s a crazy machine that you have to touch your room key card to in order to get towels. The towels themselves have RFID technology, so make sure to return them. I don’t know why they have it since the towels are thin and crappy. I’ve had better at HIExpress. Anyway, I won’t stay there again.

Pool area is very nice, on the harbor. Hotel its self is in a nice area and is pretty quiet. It’s a very nice place, but I think it lacked some for what we paid for 2 nights. Our room didn’t have trash bags in the trash cans. Stools fabric in the bathroom at the vanity was torn. Floor wasn’t completely swept underneath the desk table area. Lots of nicks and scrapes in the walls. Shower head leaked slightly.

We loved our Stay at this resort. The only issue we had was with parking, as anyone can pay to park in the resort's parking lot for parties and the restaurant. There was a Party at the Point while we were there, and the parking was terrible. To get back to our room in the resort's parking lot, where we had paid a lot of money to stay, was a challenge.

Nice sized room with a beautiful view. The pool area was very nice. The restaurant was a little pricey for what you got for a breakfast buffet. There is also a $40 a day resort charge to be aware of, but the amenities are nice, including a free shuttle into Charleston.

Overall, the property was well kept. Shuttle service was very convenient and drivers were great! Front end staff were polite but wouldn’t say they were overly friendly. Disappointed in the fitness center overall- it was tiny and in the opposite building. Pool service was great once you go their attention but had to track them down. Pool was very clean. Also, would be nice if the hotel had a place to get snacks or small items near the lobby.

It was unfortunate that the main pool was closed and tiki area was under construction.

This place is a shade better than a Hampton Inn for over 2x the cost. - WiFi never worked in our room despite calling everyday for 3 days and getting “we’ll take a look at it” with zero follow through - Breakfast was equivalent to what you’d get for free for a budget hotel yet cost $60 for two people - Hot tub is small and about bath water temp - Staff were very clinical and not trained at the level I’d expect at a resort - Marina view isn’t very nice. Looks way better in photos. No beach, no walking path The room was spacious, bed was very comfortable. Just nothing special about this place for the cost. When I (very politely) mentioned at checkout about the WiFi and that I’d appreciate some sort of gesture like a comped breakfast (especially considering how underwhelming and pricey it was) they said “I don’t have the power to do that but I’ll have a manager call you.” It felt dismissive and guess what? It was. Never got a call. We did appreciate the hourly shuttles to downtown Charleston. The driver was very nice and prompt.

The place was clean. We stayed on the beach club side. The beds slept good. A/c got cool enough. As for outside. They have two pools. They should make one adult and one family. They only have one small hot tube for the whole resort. They need two. Also they need to choose a different night to do chemicals in the pool than on a Saturday night. That was not excepting at all for what was paid to stay there and not be able to enjoy it.

We love this hotel, it’s been our end of summer vacation for 5 years in a row, but this year wasn’t the typical experience. The hotel looks like it’s lacking maintenance to keep it high quality it typically holds with numerous broken or falling apart items. Additionally, the pool was so crowded it wasn’t enjoyable to lounge and unable to relax. We will be looking into other hotels for next summer unfortunately…

The amenities included were outstanding. They offer a shuttle into town hourly. The hot tub, fire pits, and pool can be enjoyed year round. The resort was beautiful.

Toe nail clipping unter the table, trash was left on the balcony. I asked to have the room turned over for 12 30 as I was taking the dog out, was told i that would be doable and housekeeping would be right up. And it would take 20 min. I get back 1, still nothing done, I called again, same thing. It wasnt until 2 pm before they showed up, hindering plans for our day. Elevator was missing buttons. The lounge room had a coffee cup in there for 3 days, and weeds growong out of the gutter, and a rusty paddel boat was in the body of water infront of the hotel. Trash was left around the pool. Water prrssure in the shower wss low, and there was a hair in it for my 1st shower. Toilet seat was loose.

Cleanest, most comfortable rooms anywhere.

While, we did enjoy our stay at the resort. We did have some complaints such as our room had a balcony but there was a dumpster on the outside of it so we couldn’t utilize it bc the smell was unbearable. Many of the pool chairs were not clean and umbrellas were broken- as well as the pool deck patio needed to be hosed down it had a lot of dirt leading to the pool having a lot of dirt in it. Considering the pricing, the amenities could have been cleaner.

This was a splurge for our family on a little staycation and I wasn’t impressed and regretting we spent $1200 for three nights here. The pool area is pretty filthy, I took my son in there on Monday morning and it was so murky, and mold all along the grout and debris all in the pool as well. On the day we left (Wednesday) we went in because there was a very nice gentleman cleaning it and was doing a great job, the water looked crystal clear so we enjoyed the rest of the time we could. Day one, we couldn’t check in early, so we went to the tiki bar- again- with our 1 year old in tow and it’s 98 degrees outside so we try to get a drink, there was one man working the bar and a small line of people, we get in line, but more and more people come from the pool who jump ahead of the line with other people they know and zero regulation taking place so we kept getting put back further and further and after waiting 35 minutes we just walked away. The rooms are spacious and comfortable. The TVs for a “luxury resort” are laughable. It’s 2024, and you charge way too much to have basic cable on a tv that loses signal each time it rains. Get smart TVs with streaming apps so you can catch up with the rest of the world. It rained heavily all day one day and the tv lost signal and we couldn’t do anything else out. The food was awful and over priced at the hotel and there’s nothing on the inside of the hotel to access. So when it’s raining, enjoy having to get soaked if you need food or drink.

Not impressed! We took a short trip to Charleston for some much-needed rest and relaxation. The resort looked impressive upon arrival, and we received an email offering early check-in for a fee. We adjusted our plans and arrived at noon, expecting to settle in early. However, after checking in at the front desk, we were told the room would be ready "shortly." Despite multiple follow-ups, we weren’t able to access our room until 3:30 PM. It was disappointing, especially since we should have been informed upfront that early check-in wasn’t actually available. Honesty goes a long way. The ceiling fan creaked loudly, making it difficult to sleep comfortably. More concerning, the room and bathroom showed signs of neglect—mold on the ceiling, stains in the shower stall, and overall poor cleanliness. For our next Charleston visit, we’ll be staying at a different hotel in the area. I hope you take this feedback seriously and address these concerns to improve the experience for future guests.

We enjoyed our stay. The staff was very courteous and helpful. Our only complaint is minor. The housekeeping could have been better. Little things like the ice bucket was never emptied except once and even then the plastic liner wasn’t replaced. Our understanding at check in was that complementary waters were provided and they were but they were never replaced. We did ask about it and were given waters right away. Minor complaints. Overall it is a wonderful resort and we highly recommend it. We plan to stay there again next year.

Great location and resort has potential. First room moldy. Staff seems uninterested and surroundings needs cleaning (plastic, cigarette butts). Seems short staffed. Has the potential to be great. Found a used shirt in our room. Inconsistent cleaning (forgot us twice). Otherwise good property and seems modern. Could be great but needs attention

Pictures do not do this place any justice. It is even nicer in person. We got a harbor view room and it was absolutely incredible. I like that they have a water taxi to take you across to Charleston and they also have a free shuttle that departs every hour. This place was so clean and well kept. We will definitely be coming back :)

The continental breakfast not good, was in separate building outside. We ended up spending $40 on breakfast. No fridge in room or coffee pot. The view in the morning was amazing.

Our AC quit at 3 am, the shower barely had water coming out of it so I couldn’t rinse my hair, and we couldn’t turn the light on in the water closet (bulb was out). For $800 a night, not very good.

We were excited to try this place out for a little vacation away from home(Daniel island). We were disappointed that the WiFi didn’t work from our room on the second floor. The side pool and hot tub were completely shut down during our stay and we weren’t made aware of this before booking. The staff at the “check in counter” weren’t giving 5 star costumer service. Dissapointed there was no room service available or breakfast for how expensive the stay was. The hotel was empty yet we were placed in a room right above the roof with a mundane view of the “harbor”. The room itself was nicely decorated but there were stains on the robes so we couldn’t use them. I wouldn’t stay here again.

Pros..Absolutely beautiful facilities and room. Loved the ceiling fan and fireplace. Luxurious bathroom even a makeup vanity. Great views and perfect location. Very quiet. Cons..Bed was way too hard so I got very little sleep and no microwave anywhere. For a resort I expected at least a valet or someone to help with luggage.

Beautiful hotel and amenities. Clean, new and we had a large room with gorgeous views. Everyone was super friendly and easy to get to Charleston. Only wish the bar food was good and fresh, it was ok. Definitely recommend!

The rooms and property at The Beach Club Charleston were very nice and well-kept, which made the stay comfortable. However, the hospitality at the front desk fell short of expectations. I noticed that some guests were offered maps of the property at check-in, while I was not. I also had to specifically ask about restaurant locations and the complimentary shuttle service rather than being informed upfront. On the other hand, the shuttle driver was excellent—friendly, helpful, and welcoming, as was the wait staff at the Fish House restaurant. They stood out in contrast to the front desk experience. Overall, while the property itself is beautiful, the front desk team could benefit from more consistent hospitality training to ensure all guests feel equally welcomed and informed.

Checking in was terrible on Sunday. He didn’t tell me where the room was upstairs or down. I got on the elevator and the room downstairs. Had to go back to the office to ask where was the room?

The lobby of the hotel is beautiful but the front desk is non-existent. We wandered around to find check in. Very unfriendly and unfortunately, he had a heavy accent and was hard to understand. There are no bell hops so we had to get our luggage to our room. You would think that a hotel that charges a considerable amount for their rooms would provide bell service. Parking is very convenient. The hotel grounds are beautiful and the pool and bar are exceptional. Also, we had to call the first day to get housekeeping to come and service our room after we returned at 3pm to find our room had not been cleaned. The ladies were very sweet but none could speak English making it impossible to communicate. Although customer service is pretty much nonexistent, the property is very beautiful the views are fabulous and the rooms are well appointed and spacious. We would consider staying here again and just overlook the service problem.

We went there last year and loved it so much we drove 12 hours to stay again. This time very disappointed. There was garbage and dirty towels laying outside her patio. Smoke alarm went off three nights in a row with staff. Not very informative or acknowledging of the situation. Service by the pool waited a couple hours for food order to be taken. Left a message at the desk to have a manager called with no response. We will not return.

Check in was not pleasant. There were not any valets or doormen to direct us to check in and we had to figure that out only to interrupt the only person available. She was rude and put out that we arrived and interrupted her private cell phone conversation. No welcome it introduction. I mentioned it was my husbands birthday so she could maybe select the best room available for our rate. No acknowledgment at all of our special occasion. She basically pointed and told us our room was “that way” and we had to figure the rest out. Did not have the view I paid for but a big building obstructing the harbor view advertised for that rate. No explaining of amenities and how to access them or how to get WiF or what dining options were available. However the manager made it right. The rest of our stay was excellent. A very clean well kept property with a pristine pool and poolside service with a very good menu. This will definitely be it go to for a weekend getaway for sunshine relaxation and good food.

We arrived in a down pour & there were no bell hops to help with bags. The Reception is off to the side & not welcoming. Had to find it on our own. The Reception personal are very young & not helpful. We arrived early bc of weather & were told while our room was clean & available, it had not been inspected so we couldn’t check in. Being soaking wet we waited in the lobby for 3 hours for our room to be inspected & available. The WiFI is Horrible. We called front desk 6 times complaining bc we couldn’t use computers in our room & our phones only sporadically. To get online we had to sit in hallway. Our room was across from the ice machine was extremely loud. Our TV got only a couple stations,no movie channels or even Hotel info bc of cable connection. Weather was not great so there was nothing to do in Hotel, bars weren’t open. Only food is the Fish House Restaurant. There is no Room Service, even though there is a button on the phone & no vending machines that we could find . The rooms & bathroom good size and nicely decorated. We left early & found another hotel where we had internet service. After reading other reviews we learned the internet issues r a constant problem & when told by reception “ they would contact IT” that was a lie. Upon leaving early , we were not apologized for inconvenience just told “ we were responsible for payment for the room for the night” even though we were leaving bc of an issue with a service they advertised they provided.

Poor staffing for the price..no valet or bellman 2 separate false fire alarms. 1st night no air Red line thru tv... Shuttle driver HARRY was the best..he infomed us on what was going on .. Front desk and concierge were staffed by young inexperienced staff..they were friendly but lacked in resort knowledge

Check in was terrible. We waited over 40 minutes and our room wasn’t ready. We never got a call when it was and upon returning after 4pm we waited again, another 15-20 minutes. We were given no information about the resort, restaurants, activities. This was so disappointing after spending so much money here.

Place is absolutely beautiful but the front desk was not especially welcoming and did not provide any information about the hotel or amenities. There was nothing in the room either so I had to google and research. I had to actually ask where the elevator was after I was given my key. You would expect to be treated with excellent service at a place like this.

Pros: Beautiful hotel, large rooms, huge bathrooms, amazing pool area, nice views of the harbor from the balcony. Cons: About a 10 minute drive into downtown, only one restaurant on the property with no others near, not within walking distance to anything. Would we stay here again? YES!

What a beautiful resort & it’s located in the perfect spot for a Charleston vacation! The shuttle makes a huge difference, thank you! We will be back, 5 stars!

Hotel is beautiful and a great location in Mount Pleasant. Hotel offers a free shuttle to downtown Charleston which is really nice!

Beach Club is beautiful. Easy to get to downtown and nearby islands.

This was a beautiful property and so family friendly. The only negative thing I would say is that it is far from everything so you have to ride the shuttle which runs every hour or Uber if you don’t have a vehicle on site. But we loved this place!

Beautiful property in a fantastic location with a beautiful view of Charleston. Easy shuttle and water taxi service to travel into the city. Rooms were very clean, spacious bathrooms, and bedrooms. Looks like it is very well maintained and remodeled. I would highly recommend this hotel property.

Very impressive large property. The person at check-in was fantastic. It is not close to downtown, but not a negative if you are aware of that. Large enough resort that you would not have to leave the property. Loved the hourly free shuttle to down town. Appreciated the free self parking (close to resort entry), as we had just paid $80/night for parking at our previous hotel.

Beautiful room and hotel but no room service and tiki bar was not open?

The resort is beautiful and the staff were great. The pool and hot tub were pretty and had easy access ( I have mobility issues but had no difficulty with access to the pool or hot tub. There was not much to do at the resort in the evenings. There is a restaurant and bars on the property but not much actual entertainment. Evenings were a little boring. Also, no room service for the amount being charged for the rooms was annoying.

The pool was beautiful, the view is great. The lobby was inviting. I did not know where the check in desk was --there is no sign to show me the way. There should be more dining options at this hotel, including bar service at the pool with small plates. The Fish House was nice, but I would have wanted food and drink at the pool since I would stay there all day and evening at the pool. The back porch seating and the sunset view was so enjoyable. We sat there every night, with hot chocolate from the lobby coffee machine, it was very enjoyable.
