Renovated roadside property from the pre interstate days-this place had what we needed for a quick 24 hour stay: simple accommodations, clean rooms, pre-check in and a dog friendly property. Loved the kitschy rooms!

Hidden gem. I have stayed in worse in higher class hotels. It was quiet, clean, cool, and super comfortable beds. My small complaint was the provided bathroom items (soap, shampoo, and conditioner), were empty (just conditioner). Great parking, safe rooms, and super quiet. Do not judge this motel by the outside (which is also very cute), it was an awesome stay. Easy check in and check out. Just far enough away from town to be quiet but close enough to take a quick ride to everything. Awesome stay can’t say enough!

I booked this motel because I needed a pet friendly bare bones place to stay for two nights. The Birches was everything I needed. Check-in was done via an app and a text message, which threw me off at first, but there were no problems with doing it that way. We had to call them the first night to figure out how to turn on the air conditioner and the person who answered was able to help immediately. The room was small and the bathroom was very small, but it was not a problem. The body wash provided smelled great. The beds were comfortable and the room was clean. Good value; I would stay here again.

Birches Motel was extremely affordable and convenient. They send you a code for the room when you get there and its also how you get into the lobby. I think the electronic check in is so convenient. The room is very nice and comfortable. My only complaints are 1. The bathroom doesn't have a curtain on the windows and someone lives behind the motel. Uncomfortable. And 2. The shower water is slightly warm, if not cold. Otherwise, a great motel for the price!

Our room was never cleaned otherwise it was a nice stay. Only 5 minutes from the track and the breakfas sandwich/coffee from a local deli was very nice. All things consider we would definitely stay again.

The stay was overall good. The only negative aspect is that I had the room for 4 nights any it was never cleaned. Otherwise it was a good experience any the early check-in was nice.

The property appears clean but is not that clean. The walls where the bed had splashes of something. The floor look clean but there were very dirty. Shower also had hair from previous occupant. Also towels looked grayish. It’s nice but they need better cleaning crew. Check in was easy and convenient and they gave coupon to a nice breakfast spot next door.

It was a great location for our purpose. It was clean mostly. We wanted a no smoking room. Even signed a waiver saying we wouldnt smoke in it or if it smells like smoke we would be charged. However as soon as we stepped into the room, it smelt like smoke. Not horrible but to a non smoker definately noticable. I called the number for the office and someone got back to me very quickly and came out and checked. Also gave us a can of spray which helped. My other concern was the stains on the sheets and the cigarette burns holes in the comforter. Beds were very comfy. Lastly when wiping down porcelein when cleaning make sure you get all the hair. There was someonelses hair stuck to the pedestal sink and everytime you sat to pee you could see it. I think it is guiness having the code locks and being able to get extra towels and toilet paper too. It was a nice touch having the breakfast vouchers. The mexican american diner was fantastic.

Upon arriving, I was greeted with a room that was infested with house flies. There were easily 30-40 of them. So disturbing. I was afraid to open the closet for fear of what might be in there! There is no front desk person and it was a digital self check. So, it was not clear what I should do. I proceeded to kill as many as I could and called it a night. Photo is of one group of my kills! I found a number to call the next morning and a nice fellow that lives on site answered. He said he was going to relay the issue to the owner. I never heard from anybody again. The lack of an interest or consideration from the management to simply acknowledge the issue with a courtesy call or email prompted me to write this review. It’s a cute little motel with some simple design updates to the room. Could do with an extra chair and a small credenza to set your stuff. Other than the gross flies, it’s your typical little motel made to look modern. Overpriced for what is and definitely so for my stay.

There were a lot of beetles in the area, and some in the room. Also, no dresser for clothing, small table in the room even though there was plenty of room for a larger table. No bath mat in bathroom. There was no info on how to use the heat and air conditioning systems.

This place was reasonable in comparison to other hotels during race season. Overall, we were happy with the room…it was clean, had a fridge and microwave, and only about 5-10 minutes from downtown Saratoga. Super easy check in as it is online and you are then able to access your room. The one downfall was the bathroom…it is TINY…no curtain on the bathroom window, which is in direct vision of backyard, and the water pressure was non existent. A mirror somewhere else in the room would also be a good addition.

Very clean place with the room updated. I wouldn’t call the finishes “deluxe” but still seemed recently updated. Furniture very “IKEA” like but serviceable. The cable tv went out a couple of times but came on within 5 minutes. Only a 5 minute drive to downtown Saratoga.

Jacob, the reception manager at The Birches went above and beyond to help me resolve an issue with a double booking issue I had with Expedia and secure my refund. Expedia still has an old account of mine from twenty years ago listing a yahoo email I no longer use. You cannot get a human being to help in real time at Expedia. I have tried for years to get Expedia to use only my new account and associated email to no avail. I had only one booking showing on my Expedia app until check in time when ai called Jacob directly at The Birches. THANK YOU JACOB !

I did not rate staff because there was no staff. That was fine because they texted the room # and room code to me. I checked in by text and that was also easy and efficient. This motel is a pleasure and I would go back again. A nice place to stay if you are going to the races at Saratoga.

This place was reasonable in comparison to other hotels during race season. Overall, we were happy with the room…it was clean, had a fridge and microwave, and only about 5-10 minutes from downtown Saratoga. Super easy check in as it is online and you are then able to access your room. The one downfall was the bathroom…it is TINY…no curtain on the bathroom window, which is in direct vision of backyard, and the water pressure was non existent. A mirror somewhere else in the room would also be a good addition.

Everything was as described.The onsite owners handled every one of our needs instantly. The neighborhood is very safe and you can walk to numerous restaurants and stores. It is a 8-10 minute ride to downtown Saratoga Springs. We will definitely stay there again.

I did not rate staff because there was no staff. That was fine because they texted the room # and room code to me. I checked in by text and that was also easy and efficient. This motel is a pleasure and I would go back again. A nice place to stay if you are going to the races at Saratoga.

Very clean place with the room updated. I wouldn’t call the finishes “deluxe” but still seemed recently updated. Furniture very “IKEA” like but serviceable. The cable tv went out a couple of times but came on within 5 minutes. Only a 5 minute drive to downtown Saratoga.

My husband and I stayed 2 nights. The room was updated for an older motel. It was decorated very nice with very comfortable beds, great pillows and nice bedding. It was quite and was surprised to get a voucher for a great breakfast sandwich and coffee from a deli next door. It was a short drive into town and to the track. Would definitely stay again.

Our room was never cleaned otherwise it was a nice stay. Only 5 minutes from the track and the breakfas sandwich/coffee from a local deli was very nice. All things consider we would definitely stay again.

My husband and I stayed 2 nights. The room was updated for an older motel. It was decorated very nice with very comfortable beds, great pillows and nice bedding. The property appears clean but is not that clean. The walls where the bed had splashes of something. The floor look clean but there were very dirty. Shower also had hair from previous occupant. Also towels looked grayish. It’s nice but they need better cleaning crew. Check in was easy and convenient and they gave coupon to a nice breakfast spot next door.

It was a great location for our purpose. It was clean mostly. We wanted a no smoking room. Even signed a waiver saying we wouldnt smoke in it or if it smells like smoke we would be charged. However as soon as we stepped into the room, it smelt like smoke. Not horrible but to a non smoker definately noticable. I called the number for the office and someone got back to me very quickly and came out and checked. Also gave us a can of spray which helped. My other concern was the stains on the sheets and the cigarette burns holes in the comforter. Beds were very comfy. Lastly when wiping down porcelein when cleaning make sure you get all the hair. There was someonelses hair stuck to the pedestal sink and everytime you sat to pee you could see it. I think it is guiness having the code locks and being able to get extra towels and toilet paper too. It was a nice touch having the breakfast vouchers. The mexican american diner was fantastic.

This is a nondescript road motel, but the rooms looked recently renovated — nicely decorated and bright. Very pleasant stay. Beds were comfortable, and we had everything we needed for our one-night stop. There's no staff onsite, so they send your door code through the hotel booking portal. No breakfast onsite, but they include a voucher for a breakfast sandwich and coffee at the deli next door, which was filling and delicious. We were there during a concert weekend so hotel rates were very high (this place was one of the cheapest), but I'll keep it in mind for a future trip.

Room was cute, clean and conveniently located close to downtown & SPAC. The vouchers for breakfast at the 2 local eateries was a nice touch (the little diner next door was unassuming, but delicious!) We will definitely return next year for the DMB concert!
