Hotel doesnt have parking, and there is no option arround, even worst there is a cicling line just in front so you can't at least drop your laugagge...we have a baby and we had hard time at 1am, in adition to this there was a mistake with our room and we got one with someone already there, 2nd room was in construccion all empty. The guy who helped us was very kind and Im pretty sure he was doing the best on his hands but something is wrong with their system because in the morning someone was trying to get in our room too.p

First impression: Parking in alley near homeless. 2 homeless people were rolling a crack pipe. Valet Parking available with the cost of $52. Walking in, there was no greetings, the front desk clerk was just staring as if i was in the wrong place. Work ethic was as if he was a random fill in with no experience of the process. Check out front desk clerk was amazing. He was on it. Valet lost my tag so I was asked if I knew the license plate number. I didnt. I waited for over an hour. Within that hour i check E d status about 4 times and the front desk clerk kept saying "they are on their way 1 min." The last time he called the Valet and gave him attitude because he knew I was waiting so long. 2 other couples that checked out after me had gotten their cars before me. Finally they bring it. Apparently the Valet attendant was only checking 1 of the parking spaces they have while my car was at the other parking space the whole time.

Hotel was perfectly fine for the price. Room very clean and comfortable, staff very friendly. Parking is the issue. Van Ness Garage was perfectly fine and one block from the hotel, however, on my 2nd night, I got back late (11:15) from an event which was 30 minutes outside of SF, and the garage gate for access was closed. There is literally nowhere else to park within 3 blocks that felt safe to walk back to the hotel at this time of night with all the people on the streets in this district. No key card access to the main entrance at night - anyone can just walk in - although staff was always at the desk. They should add this feature for entrance to the hotel after hours. I decided to check out and drive home (1.5 hours) instead of parking too far from the hotel and walking back at this time of night.

No parking

I booked this hotel for 1night only. There is no parking so a fee of $52 to valet is needed and you can’t be out past 10pm to use it. The property is right next to a shelter that feeds the homeless so they are all around. The homeless are doing drugs, fighting etc. The rooms are way smaller than they appear and we heard gun shots very close to us in the wee hours of the morning. It’s a cute place effected by things out of there control

There is no parking at this hotel, we had to pay for a public garage about 2 blocks away for two nights. We also almost got a parking ticket because we stopped in front to drop luggage off so we did t have to carry it blocks. We will NOT stay here again. Extremely noisy and horrible neighborhood.

Absolutely no parking on premises. No valet. I parked 4-blocks away on Van Ness before it felt safe. Don't believe the 3-4 star ratings. The shower didn't have a shower head. We had to be moved to a second room to have a showed Elevator was inoperable two of our three day stay. Smallest rooms in my 40 years of USA travel. Property is on the border of the homeless (Tenderloin) area. Police swept up tents in the alley our first day. This is at best a 2-star hotel. The staff was friendly.

Hotel was really nice and modern. It isn’t in a great location though. A lot of homeless outside and down the street. My husband and I watched a man so cracked out he couldn’t stay still and people walking down the street called and ambulance to pick him up. I wouldn’t recommend bringing children because they shouldn’t see that. Other than that the hotel itself it nice. Room was small but nice for the price, continental breakfast was thawed out frozen mini danishes and yogurt..etc. no parking only valet service for $52 and took over 30mins to get my car at checkout. Basically it is good for the price. If you are looking for a quiet stay though I wouldn’t recommend. It was very loud all night.

No onsite parking. Had to walk a couple of blocks for overnight parking in a garage. Room was extremely small.

Modernized rooms, very clean and quiet. Although smaller than typical hotel room, the design is clever and maximizes use of square footage! Basic amenities are included in room. I would add two things in the room: another wastebasket in the main room (there’s only one .. in the bathroom) and mini fridge under the table. Lastly, although it advertises parking available, it’s either a public lot five blocks away or valet parking ($52 per night). There isn’t a place for you to pull up to the hotel front and unload luggage .. I almost got a ticket, cuz it’s the green bike lane. And if you choose valet, it may take 15-20 minutes for valet to arrive. Option is street parking nearby for valet to pick up car later. Perhaps calling ahead to coordinate parking?

Very small room, but very clean and modern. A little noisy due to the street being right there but that’s to be expected.

They place smells terrible, hair found on bed sheets, forgot items at hotel called for them to retrieve it so they did and told me that it would be at the front then when I arrived they told me it was lost after saying they found it and bagged it. Would not recommend and I would never stay here again.

Arrived at the property in the later evening and it was surrounded by unsafe people. I felt very unsafe to get out of the car. The manager was on the phone talking in another language the entire time I checked in. My room was extremely small. The couple next door argued and fought. I left the hotel soon after that. The stairs and floors were unclean. The manager did not seem bothered that I was unsatisfied.

The conditions of the property were terrible. Wired hanging out of the wall, mold on the ac, a window leading to a literal pile of trash. Rat droppings behind the bed. Gross Do not stay here

I stayed here pre-Covid- maybe 2019ish- after an extensive remodel. It was great. It was closed as a hotel for 2-3 years (possibly being used as short term housing judging by the current condition of the rooms ?). Stayed here again last weekend and it was terrible. It’s a rough part of the city, smack dab in the TL- that doesn’t bother me as long as the hotel room is a safe, clean refuge. It’s not. The dirty vinyl plank floor was broken in two high traffic places. Someone’s eyelash extension was in the sink, and the only shelf in the ridiculously small shower was broken off and dangling on the wall. Our room had no window, felt like a closet and smelled weird- possibly like a cleaner mixed with burning meth. The bed made noise, is not built for tall people (had a footboard railing) and the TV remote didn’t work. The positive: the towels were fluffy and soft.

BED BUGS! Stayed at this hotel just one night. I saw a bug in the room and was hoping nothing of it. A day and half later my body was covered in 48 bites. This was so traumatizing! I’ve never experienced bed bugs before. I’ve called the hotel for a refund which I don’t believe they are going to refund me. This is absolutely ridiculous to not get my money back after. Don’t recommend staying here.

Like the boutique hotel feel. Rooms are clean, bathrooms modern, beds comfortable. Much better than other hotels in the area at the same price point.

Buses, ice machines, neighbor’s music, people traffic… etc. We’d always return to small flies in the room even if everything was closed? The TVs only showed you half the channels and that’s after a few buttons click to get where you wanted, the AC made a loud rattling sound that didn’t allow for the best of sleep. The breakfast was only yogurt, instant oatmeal, bland apples and oranges, and cheap danishes. On top of that, BEDS ARE NOT TRUE TO SIZE.

I dont like that There is no closet in the bedroom and you can hear everything that is happening around the room

The physical location - close to events for the Salesforce Conference, but the location where the homeless and drug addicts stay - not good! The valet parking is shady so I just prayed that I'd get my car back in its original condition. The room is very small, like NYC small and the room smells like body odor. It's like it had bad carpet but luckily, there was no carpet in the room. Remember SF city streets are disgusting!! The walls are very thin. If you have other choices, like in the financial district, or can spare the money to pay more, do so.

The room is okay. The windows didn’t fully close and we were on the second floor so we didn’t feel fully safe as the hotel is in a sketch area and there was so much noise outside the windows cracked open didn’t really help

no closet space to hang clothes, although we were only there for one night. Would’ve been nice if they had a refrigerator in the room for my insulin.

Rude staff, TV in suite didn’t work for the entire 5 day trip

When I checked in, the front staff gave me a key that was another room. When I returned to the front desk and said someone already in the room. The toilet handle doesn’t work. Narrows aisles in the building.

Great Stay with One Big Hiccup "I really enjoyed the hotel itself! The place is lovely and kept super clean, and the bed was one of the most comfortable I've slept in. My room was on the smaller side, but I know they have more spacious ones available. A quick tip on the neighborhood: It's definitely improving (I walked through in 2023 and it was worse), but you still need to be aware. My advice is to walk straight down to Market Street to get to Union Square or the Financial District, and I'd suggest avoiding Turk, Eddy, and Ellis streets. Now, for the one big issue. We had a really rough night with a disruptive guest that led to the police being called. The disturbance lasted from 11 p.m. to 3 a.m., and because the walls are a bit thin, I heard everything and got no sleep. The good news is that the staff handled it the next morning and the disruptive guest was removed. My only real disappointment was that management never reached out to me or the other affected guests. A simple 'Sorry you went through that' would have gone a long way. It's not a dealbreaker, but it was a missed opportunity to show great customer care."

SOMEONE CAME INTO OUR ROOM AT 1 AM BECAUSE THE FRONT DESK GAVE THEM A KEY. THEY SAID THAT THEY MISTAKENLY DID NOT MARK OUR ROOM BOOKED RESULTING IN SOMEONE COMING INSIDE AND THEY DID NOT LEAVE RIGHT AWAY. WE WERE VERY SCARED AND WERE NOT GIVEN A COMPENSATION FOR THE NIGHT.

Totally recommend. My absolute safe haven, and comfortable quiet place to be during the dead co celebratory weekend. Stayed four nights, no hitches, absolute convenience and access to everything San Francisco had to offer that weekend, super cool staff, friendly, clean, comfortable, quiet, affordable, easy to book…. Would look forward to staying again back in the area.

The staff were really helpful. They accommodated to us as we stayed there for a few days. It’s not in the best part of town but as long as you can uber, Lyft or Waymo then it’s fine. Overall it wasn’t so bad.

Once you enter the hotel, it’s nice: freshly renovated, nice rooms, nice staff. But man, the surrounding area is absolutely terrible: homeless land, smell of human waste everywhere, human feces at every step on the sidewalk, … not the hotel fault at all, but it’s an area of SF that you want to avoid at all costs. Shame, cause again the hotel itself is really nice

It seems that they are trying to be a boutique property but in the end it is 'lipstick on a pig'. Anywhere else this hotel would be a curious, and nice experience. Walking from public transportation you'll deal with homeless, drunks, addicts-stepping over them on the sidewalk, being confronted on the sidewalk in jibberish, etc. I get it. One block West is Van Ness and it is a clean, orderly world. In the morning approached by people wanting money or cigarretes. In the lobby during breakfast service people come in off the streets for coffee and pastry with guy behind the desk not even raising his head up. Really....A pleasant and clean hotel. My room was pleasant, if tiny. But wouldn't stay here again.

The hotel is ideally located in the middle of the city: Mission District/ Castro to the west, Downtown / Chinatown to the east, Fisherman’s Wharf /North Hills to the north and South of Market to the south. The area is full of restaurants as you walk north. Despite its location, the area around the hotel is full of homeless/ sketchy people, but they will not bother you at all. Check in was quick and easy. Staff was super nice. The room is small. It is a good size for solo travellers but can be noisy on some nights. I had some issues with my room but was changed to another room in a timely manner (due to some plumbing issues). Overall my stay was good and I will still recommend Hotel Epik.

I liked the decor of this Hotel, it was very accessible to the train, local restaurants, and shopping.

The hotel was clean and you can tell they have taken pride and effort into modernizing it. The toiletries they provide are top notch. They smell amazing and work wonderfully. The room we got was small but it worked for what we needed. We spent most of our time exploring, anyway. Breakfast included oatmeal, donuts, fruit, yogurt, coffee, and tea. The only thing I would recommend is be prepared to uber most of the places you want to go. There are some great bars and restaurants close by but the homeless is a huge issue in the area and you may not feel comfortable walking where you want to go.

Clean, stylish, comfortable room. Not spacious, but adequate. Bathroom was nice. "Continental" breakfast was just donuts, coffee and yogurt. I didn't see a "business center". Good central location. Good value, satisfying nights' sleep.

It was very affordable, and close to city hall which had a big bus stop there making it easy to catch. TV was a little bit to understand but when we figured that out it was easy to work. Nice little breakfast set up for a quick bite. No refrigerator so we made a make shift cooler. If you are there for any length of time, Find a cheap ice chest for cold drinks. Overall was a nice place to stay.

Room was cozy for two, complimentary breakfast were just donuts and coffee, lots of homeless people right outside, and street noise.

Four stars for value (but no luxury and kind of small spaces) Lots of traffic on Polk sirens and nightlife music but the room had the basic needs, and they had some nice donuts, oatmeal or fruit/yogurt for breakfast and a coffee machine so convenient to have that. No frills but clean and nice helpful staff.
