Eco Tree Hotel Sheung Wan

Hotel entrance underwhelming. A small door on Main Street which could not be used to enter. So main entrance is in the lane with street vendors. Hotel has no lobby. Once you enter, signs indicate check in counters are on 7th floor where there is a counter. Our room had a dumpy view of next door building scaffolds. Busy street has many dried goods stores. Feels dumpy. Two streets over, we discovered the Sun Yat Sen Park — very lovely. We would not stay here again.

The hotel was in a great location right next to the train line entry. Our air conditioner did not work in our first room so they changed our room straight away with no fuss. Both rooms were clean and spacious. The hotel has no lobby it is just the reception so there is no ordering food to be delivered as room service but plenty of places close by to grab food. A pleasant place to stay and would be happy to stay there again.

This hotel worked fine as a home base for exploring Hong Kong. The biggest plus is the proximity to the MTR and Tram. 3 stars just so you’re not setting your expectations too high. It was perfectly comfortable. The security downstairs was also very friendly. But there aren’t any amenities outside the room itself. I was happy to find a large supermarket within walking distance though!! I think this is a good choice to be close to Central HK but not pay for the expensive hotels. The room was perfectly fine and AC in high! Very easy to find from the airport via MTR late at night too!!

Nothing fancy and seems very quickly put together, but decent for the price. The doorman was friendly, and the front desk was mostly helpful. Our safe wasn\'t working (receptionist fixed it immediately), and the fridge got disturbingly hot on the outside (we were told it just does that, which seemed bad for a place called "Eco Tree") but otherwise worked fine. My family got a suite, including a surprise second bathroom, which was convenient because the doors have vents, so you can hear everyone\'s business on the toilet. We had space to give someone privacy while still being able to brush our teeth in another bathroom. There were some in-room ammenities with more available to buy from a vending machine in the lobby (but only takes Octopus cards). Biggest complaints: 1) there are no convenient electricity outlets near the beds and instead A LOT of unlabeled light switches, including master switches, which got confusing and annoying, 2) housekeeping is a bit odd in that they\'d overstock our slippers but not clean our cups (which were dirty when we arrived), and 3) I hurt my foot but there was no ice machine to make an ice pack, and even reception couldn\'t help. Probably not the best hotel for first-time HK visitors, but it\'s serviceable for those who know their way around already.

The visit did not start well as there were several problems with the first room. However, we stayed in an alternative room for the rest of the stay which was fine. The staff apologised for the issues with the first room which was appreciated. A very important point is that the hotel does not provide breakfast or any dining facilities for that matter. This should be stressed on the Expedia web site. However, there is a very good dim sum restaurant opposite but western breakfasts would be harder to find in the area.

This is in a relatively quiet area at night time but its feels safe and close to A2 exit of the metro. The room is fairly compact and the bed was comfortable. I liked the shower and the fact that i can see a bit of the sea, the other tall buildings and the motorway. They have a vending machine that i only discovered on the last night and it sells everything from drinks to converters. For a place saying its "eco friendly", i saw no recycling bins and im not convinced that Hong Kong has recycling facilities. The maid changed our towels everyday which does defeat the eco ethos. We did appreciate her putting the duvet cover back on and giving us cans of water. They dont serve breakfast but theres a great cafe about 10 mins walk away. For the price of the room, its a bargain and a tram ride away from central.

Overall good experience as the location is just beside the MTR station. Clean and comfy bed, pillow and housekeeping is done everyday basis. Lobby is located at the 7th floor and guest rooms are from 8th floor onwards. There is someone always in the reception but hardly interact unless you ask for something. I find only person is friendly named Tom Cheung from the security team and you will find him at the ground floor during the daytime. Wifi is good but depending upon the room location, could be weaker signal. I was there for a week and the last day AC wasn't working, hence I had to checked out early because the whole floor was suffocating and humid. Also, there is no such option for having breakfast near by apart from a small cafe.

It's a great place. I found the rooms to be clean, quiet, and very central and convenient. Would recommend for people who want a solid, safe place to stay and don't need all the extra amenities (i.e. gym, bar, etc).

遅い時間のチェックインであり、フロントのスタッフの対応がよくなかった。シングル2台希望で早い時期に予約、しかしチェックイン時にシングル2台の部屋は満室なので、無料でグレードアップでクイーンサイズのベッドにしますと言われ仕方のないことなので承諾したが、実際にはどう見てもダブルベッドであり、グレードアップとは言い難かった。また、クチコミでタオルが変えられてなかったと書いている方がいたので、事前にホテルにタオルは変えてくれるのか確認したところ、変えるとの返信。しかし、2泊目帰宅するとタオルは変えられておらず、フロントに話すと係りが変えに行くと言われ、時間も遅かったため、早くシャワーを浴びたいのに、1時間待ち、バスタオルは来たがフェイスタオルの替えはなかった。これ以上待てないので結局そのままにしたが、もう利用することはないと思います。ホテルの利便性は良いだけに残念ですを

This hotel has black mould in its rooms. It is not safe to stay in. If I could give negative rating I would. Staff refused a refund even though I left the hotel due to health issues with their black mould. Terrible. Never ever stay here. Negative 10 rating on all fronts.

Housekeeping works should be better and some of the time supplies in rest room are insufficient

Every night (except for one night) i had to call the reception to provide the shampoo, conditioner and body soap because the shampoo and body soap bottles attached to the bathroom wall were empty. (I asked the reception to refill the bottles. They brought small shampoo instead.) There were two mugs by the kettle and instant coffee and tea though, they never washed the mugs. When I asked the reception to wash the mugs or replace them with clean ones on my send day stay because i thought that was regular part of daily housekeeping, the reception said, “We don’t do that.” They kept saying that daily room cleaning did not include washing the mugs. What kind of a hotel actually expects it’s guests to keep using the same unwashed mugs every single day of the stays… or does the hotel actually expect its guests to bring their own dish cleaning soap and sponge to wash the mugs every day, or use a hand soap to wash the mugs by themselves? Very unsanitary and rude.

Très bonne expérience à Eco Tree Hôtel, chambre impeccable et très spacieuse (2 queen size beds et 2 sdb). Literie excellente, chambre parfaitement insonorisée. Hyper bien situé, tout près du plus ancien quartier de Hong Kong. Beaucoup de vie dans les rues, des cafés, petites boutiques, écoles, temples. Le personnel de l'hôtel est charmant et très professionnel. Autre point fort juste à côté d’une station de métro.

住13樓還是窗戶有關還是聽的到叮叮車的聲音

Pros: MTR station next to this property; lots of local restaurants nearby; rooms are clean; room rate is affordable. Cons: Lost air conditioning 3 times during our 20days stay. Got woken up due to stuffy air and getting hot due to no air conditioning. Need to move to different rooms twice due to failing air conditioning. Head of management in the property offered us to cancel our room and refund for the one day, this is not a correct action proposed by head of management. How can they tell us to go somewhere else! After some discussion, we got a suite for one night & late checkout for next day. This hotel is very strict in checking/checkout time. It never supports early checkin. And late checkout will have surcharge. The lighting is badly designed. Very dimm in the room. There are 2 vertical light along the edges of the mirror. They are the main light at the restroom with some minor ceiling lights. Very dimm overall. The hot water faucet control is unreliable. It has cold water for the first 5 to 10 minutes. Then hot water starts. Some times, only hot water comes out, I was not able to change to colder water for shower. Overall, I wii not stay in this hotel again. Is all the negative worth the lower room rate? It is a call by the customer who wants to reserve this hotel.

Shower was very poor, hardly any water pressure and variable temperatures.

Hotel was alright and clean, but the internet was so poor it was basically unusable between 12pm to 12am.

Had a great stay at ECO Tree. Very accomodating staff, Candice, Tiffany and the frontdesk team were helpful. Cat from housekeeping attended to our requests. Location is ideal, bus, tram and MTR is very close.

Convenient location. However hotel entrance is a bit awkward, going through an alley which is the drawback. Housekeeping services are great. Front desk staffs should have more patience with guests.

Staff was good. Got to check in a bit early. Let me borrow electrical outlet converter. Stephen helped me check out and was good.

Clean room, staff were friendly and professional. Of particular note, we made a special request for our lugguage storage service. Staff Stephen took an initiative and made things easier for us to accommodate our needs. His professionalism was impressive and remarkable.

I had a wonderful stay at this hotel right in the heart of Hong Kong. The location is unbeatable – just a few minutes’ walk to the MTR station. The staff were exceptionally friendly, attentive, and always ready to help. Thanks a lot to Stephen Cheng for his friendly support! My room was modern, clean, just as described on the homepage. I appreciated the comfortable bed and the quiet atmosphere – despite being in such a central spot, I slept perfectly. Overall, this is a hotel I can wholeheartedly recommend – I’ll definitely be staying here again on my next visit to Hong Kong!

概ね良かったが、深夜にアラームが鳴り響き、フロントに行ったが、要領を得なかった。誤報とのことであったが、その旨の連絡もなく、心配であった。誤報との連絡が、放・電話などであるべきだと思った。

Hotel is great for the price but be warned, the hotel on is a famous dry seafood location. It will have a unique dried seafood in the air.

The property was very conveniently located in Hong Kong. The buses and tram were right outside the location. The MTR to the train is about a 5 minute walk.

Excellent/clean room, central location next to main subway line

地下鉄駅出入口に非常に近く、また、トラムの停留所にも近いので、とても便利。

It’s located right outside of a metro station which was very convenient. Trams and buses also stop at less than 100m from the hotel. The room was spacious and clean, we got a free upgrade so we also had a nice view of the bay and the mainland. It doesn’t offer much more but we only used it for sleeping so we didn’t need more but a clean room and a good bed. Just note that the entrance to the building is on the alley and not on the main avenue (this was weird for us but it took 1 min to figure it out)

Fast and easy check in and out. Not much night life in the area so quieter at night

Genuinely a great hotel. If you'd like to get an authentic taste of Hong Kong with easy access to transit, this is an excellent location. The hotel is right above a subway station, has tram and bus stops directly outside, is an easy walk to the ferry pier, and the frontdesk can order a taxi if you need one. The hotel exits directly onto the fish market, is around the corner from the traditional medicine wholesale market, and is a short walk to the antique markets along Hollywood Road which make for perfect sightseeing on foot. The room size for the cost is very fair for Hong Kong. Windows from the rooms give you views of the bay and/or the peak depending on which direction you face. The hotel itself has no real food options, but there are many good dining spots nearby and a 7-11 across the road. The staff is friendly and the front desk can provide an electrical adaptor if you need one. One person who really made our stay welcoming was Tom CT Cheung, the daytime security guard on the first floor. He gave us great advice on places to go, local restaurants to try, and good places for shopping. He is a great ambassador for the EcoTree. I'd gladly stay again!

空港バス乗り場にも近く、地下鉄、バス、トラム乗り場も目の前で良かったです。

This is mid priced, but very good value. Nice room. Great location for visiting Victoria Peak and Tian Tan with bus just 5 mins walk. Good options for food, bar and cafe! Recommended

We have been upgraded to a room of sea view. The room was quite good comparing to the expectation that hotels in Hongkong could be small and expensive. We extended our stay because we were satisfied with the price and the condition. There were good restaurants near by. We went to '六安居'. The restaurant was so famous that eating there feels like fighting for food.

I like how this hotel is very near to the MTR station. Very safe , very clean and enjoyable stay. There is a cafe just opposite the hotel called the “Good luck cafe”, it has authentic delicious and affordable Hong Kong Food and they have menu in various languages (Chinese, Cantonese, English)
