LIC Hotel

The rooms were cleaned daily and the noise levels from the other rooms and lobby was very nominal but there was definitely noise coming from outside the hotels which the hotel should consider as it close to the main road. The cleaning staff did a good job in keeping the rooms in order. There is a laundry in the basement too which helps when you are staying for few days. The location is very close to the court Sq-23 station like 2 mins walking. The views for the roof top was amazing The only downside was the breakfast was the same everyday, could do with some variety and other choices rather than keeping it the same. Also the time allocated for dining was restricted to only 30 mins. When it's busy this isnt enough. Apart from that we had a good time.

Close to many subway lines. 3 stations to Time square. This district is not very interesting but the hotel is almost perfect for the price. Breakfast was really good. There’s no a lot of parking spots. Parking price is very low (20$) compared to the other options in the area.

Generally it’s good for the price to stay. they charged for the parking but there’s very limited and small space. it’s not easy to get my car in there

Great price for the area. Parking was terrible because we traveled all the way from Pennsylvania to New York City and once we got to the hotel they said they were all full for parking spots so we had to circle around the hotel several times just to park the car. We finally found parking on a side street not knowing if our car was gonna make it through the night due to the rough area. Overall was cheap for the area NYC

We loved the rooftop patio. Also the breakfast is good and n has it from 6:30 to 10:30 which was awesome 👌 and its very convenient for being in the city for the weekend.

The hotel was clean, quiet, staff were always ready to help. Th rooftop had an amazing view of the NY skyline of skyscrapers. The coffee had a good flavor.

Location is great for easy subway transportation access. Great rooftop with views. Decent continental breakfast. Friendly staff. Bed can use a little upgrading, but an overall affordable good hotel.

Hotel was perfect for a trip to the US Open since it was close to the Subway Line #7 which goes straight to the Tennis center. Room & bathroom a little small, but still had enough space for us to put our stuff. Staff was very nice & courteous. NY skyline view from the roof was pretty cool. Breakfast was a pleasant surprise as good as it was with a good variety of options. Will definitely consider staying again next year.

A great hotel. Large room. An extra bonus was the laundry facilities on site. Very handy for the Subway a 2 minute walk away.

Clean and near train

My partner and I tried to stay at this hotel during a trip to NYC. I say “tried,” because the instant we walked into the room, we were hit by a wave of an eye-watering chemical smell. It was so strong that both of us began to feel dizzy and nauseated. We located the source — an air freshener on the clothing rack — and returned it to the front desk, and then we attempted to air out the room by opening the windows and running the fan. However, the smell pervaded every crack and crevice in the room and despite our best attempts to fumigate it over the next few hours, we were unable to remove the smell. My partner — who has a chronic condition where she is sensitive to certain artificial fragrances — started experiencing such severe nausea, dizziness, and chills from the chemicals that we had to leave the hotel at 12am our first night. The front desk staff were kind and accommodating, and patiently worked with the Expedia staff to help us end our reservation early. As we were entering and leaving, we could not help but notice that the smell also lingered the lobby and breakfast area. I would recommend that this hotel rethink its use of such harsh chemical cleaners and fragrances. These kinds of chemicals can trigger chronic illness flare-ups and irritate the airways and eyes of workers and guests. It made me and my partner wonder if there were cleanliness or safety issues the hotel is trying to cover up by using such strong artificial products.

Room was not clean, obvious dust buildup & drain roaches. Check out didn't care we left at 10p to drive home instead of dealing with their conditions.

Our room had water damage along the ceiling and the walls, and apparently it\'s been ongoing because the No Smoking sign in the room has obviously been soaked as had the wall behind it and was poorly painted over. The AC and the TV in the room were incredibly finicky. We called down to the desk and they immediately sent someone up to fix it, who basically pulled the classic IT move of \'turn it off and back on again\' as their "fix", which helped short term but nothing more than that. We had to continue to reboot everything repeatedly throughout our stay. The breakfast was very nice though. Location was a bit iffy when we arrived, but overall it was pretty safe. We were on the top floor on the end, so while we didn\'t have people stomping above us, we did have a lot of road noise from the street below. The rooftop view was stunning. We ordered in one night and went up there to eat. However, the tables were very lightweight and we had to be very careful when sitting and getting up to keep from the tables becoming unbalanced and toppling over with the other person still sitting.

The air fresheners they put in the bathrooms are very strong. I had to immediately remove them and have the windows open for 24+ hours to air out the terrible smell. If you are chemically sensitive, this is not a place for you.

This is a great little hotel in Long Island City. It’s easy to find, is a short one block walk to the Subway (and a quick 10-15min ride to Manhattan), is in walking distance to both Target and Trader Joe’s, and is a 20-30min ride from La Guardia. The room was clean and decently modern, housekeeping came daily, and breakfast was good typical hotel fare. It was also a decently safe area. They also held our luggage the day we checked out so we didn’t have to lug it around the city before our flight! The view from the rooftop is great too. The only drawbacks were the beds weren’t super comfortable and it was a bit loud outside our window. But overall, great hotel, I would stay there again.

Good location, nice deco, nice size, wood flooring is a big plus despite the fact that there are some gaps, and most importantly, no bed bugs found in my room. Windows cannot be open though. The AC unit is very strong and you cannot tune it down, and it is a little too dry for my nose and skin. Overall, good place to stay in New York.

Windows were not at all sound proof. We were on the 3rd floor and could hear outside activity as if the window was open. Having to upload a photo of drivers license and input credit card information prior to checking in was annoying and extra work. I have never had to do this at any hotel Ive ever stayed in.

Rooms facing the street are really noisy because of the traffic and are smaller than I have usually seen, but I expected that having read a review. The front desk personnel were great as was the breakfast staff. They kept things moving and replenished. Choices were good -- pancakes, bacon, eggs, veggies, yogurt fruit, cereal, tea and coffee, bagels and some other things I've forgotten. I would definitely recommend this hotel - price was good and, as I've stated, so were staff.

This hotel is great. Spotlessly clean. Lovely staff; friendly and attentive. The free breakfast was excellent with freshly made scrambled eggs. Wonderful staff here in the cafeteria. This hotel represents great value for money being so close to Manhattan.. I will be back at LIC

Great location however I’ve never seen such aggressive cleaning people. Checkout is at 11am, however at 10am you’ll hear a loud banging on your door. I am mute so was unable to respond to this loud banging, next thing I know housekeeping is opening the door and tried to come in my room while I was still in bed. I completely understand wanting to clean a room and prepare it for the next guest, however nobody should be banging on doors before checkout. There is only 1 exit, simply ask guests as they are leaving with luggage which room they were in.

The property offered a good alternative to the very expensive hotels in Manhattan with good subway links into the city and out to JFK airport. The breakfast offered was adequate although the dining area was very busy. Our arrival at the hotel did not give a good first impression. The receptionist was unwelcoming, disinterested and expected us to know how to check in using a link she sent to my phone. I’m not sure what would have happened if I didn’t have a phone. Technology has gone mad. Whatever happened to a polite welcome, a request for ID and a quick swipe of a credit card!

If I could give zero stars, I would. During our stay on July 17, 2025, my husband suffered a dangerous fall in his hotel room due to extreme condensation caused by a standard 20-minute shower. With the bathroom fan running and door slightly ajar, the entire room — floors, walls, furniture, and electronics — was drenched in moisture. The floor became so slick that my husband slipped and fell on his back. To make matters worse, his MacBook Pro— which was open and operating at the time — was ruined by the water damage, rendering it completely inoperable. When we reported this incident at the front desk and directly to management, the response was appalling. Staff openly acknowledged that this level of condensation is “known to occur in guest rooms” and that floors can become dangerously slippery. Their “solution”? Guests should supposedly open windows, crank up the AC, or limit showers to five minutes — none of which is written anywhere in hotel policies or guest instructions. Despite acknowledging the issue, management refused to accept responsibility for either my husband’s injuries or the destruction of his property. We followed up in writing — twice — with detailed documentation and even set a clear deadline for response. The hotel has not had the decency to reply. Complete silence. This hotel not only provides unsafe accommodations but also displays a shocking lack of accountability and basic professionalism. Guests should not have to risk

I had trouble checking in cause everything had to be done thru my phone. Was told by receptionist that if I cant check-in thru my phone she couldn't help me.

The property sent me a text asking me to complete some pre-check-in form, but the link took me to a website that had no indication of being affiliated with the hotel, & asked questions about my contact info and payment method that should have been provided by Expedia, so I did not complete the form. When I checked in, this caused a little bit of a delay, as the reception desk attendant tried to set up a tablet for me to use to fill out the form ... using someone else's device to provide my personal and financial details is something I would absolutely never do ... but they couldn't get the tablet working, so a supervisor just told the receptionist to check me in "normally". I received a similar text at the end of my stay, to check out, but I ignored it. I understand the push to automate things, & to use technology when it can be used, but businesses need to keep in mind that (a) some folks don't handle financial matters on cellular devices, and (b) infosec is just as important to ordinary people as it is to businesses. BTW: the view from the roof of this hotel is spectacular.

Great location near trains, small supermarkets and restaurants. Roof top is amazing, great view on 59th Str Bridge and parts of Midtown Manhattan. We had a problem with our first room, but the hotel staff (especially the manager) reacted very quickly, was absolutely helpful, very nice and with outstanding service. Breakfast was fine with bagels, pancakes, eggs and bacon (or sausage patty’s). Coffee and water was available 24/7. Rooms were clean, A/C was a bit squeaky but worked great. We would come back!

Our 3rd stay at this hotel; Great location. Front desk staff very helpfull but not not the smiliest people around. We love the fact that the hotel uses crockery instead of disposable dishes fro breakfats but we would like to see recycling facilities in the rooms and common spaces. Rooftop terrasse is a gem.

The most extraordinary things about our stay at LIC Hotel were the courteous and generous service of the staff and the ample, reasonably priced parking. The room was clean and well-appointed. The one down side was that on our first night, we stayed in a room with a queen-sized bed that was a bit clanky, with a metal frame that made noise whenever we moved. My husband mentioned to the front desk staff that the bed had caused us to lose sleep and they were more than happy to accommodate us by offering us a new room for our second night that was bigger and had a (much more comfortable) king-sized bed! I was blown away by how, without hesitation, they went out of their way to make us happy! Also, breakfast at the LIC was ample and inexpensive and we were an easy walk away from a subway station that was only one stop from mid-town Manhattan. Overall, I would highly recommend the LIC Hotel and would definitely stay there again.

Good, clean and good value given ridiculous NYC prices. The location is surprisingly good. 2mins walk to subway that connects to midtown Manhattan in 15-20 mins and easy to JFK the other way

The hotel itself was amazing!, but the neighboorhood was a bit of a dissapiontment, if this hotel was in a bit of a better place in NYC it would be perfect for tourists.

Location a little off path, but close to metro and easy access to both Manhattan and airports. Price was great considering breakfast was included. Because it was off the normal path, it was quieter than downtown Manhattan. We will definitely stay here again.

Despite being in the city, it was clean, well-kept, and pretty quiet. The room is ample enough for a single person, and the mini fridge comes in handy. It was a plus for the breakfast, and I believe there was a restaurant above if you wanted. The subway is a literal 5 minute or less walk from the hotel, making it super accessible to get anywhere in NYC. I loved it here! I'll definitely stay here again when I visit NYC in another time. 100% recommend!

The location and price were great, super close to Court Square subway station and easy to get around New York and to/from LaGuardia. There’s a Target, CVS and a few restaurants and variety stores nearby. The hotel windows are not very well insulated and we found it very loud at night.

The staff were excellent and friendly. The included breakfast was good, basic options like eggs and sausage and hash browns. Also bread options like bagels and pancakes and toast etc. The mattress was firm, but comfortable. The room and neighborhood is quiet and safe. MTA subway/train station was very close by. I recommend this hotel, and if I'm in LIC again I'd probably stay here again.

Loved our stay at this hotel. Breakfast was great, w/ 24 hour coffee bar, fitness, and the rooftop was incredible. Subway about 3 minute walk around the corner. Small boutique grocery stores, and restaurants within walking distance. Will stay again.

We stay here quite often when we come to LIC to help babysit the grandkids. Would like breakfasts to vary more but understand the nature of the beast. Maybe individual yogurts… the large vat is a bit unappetizing even tho I love plain yogurt! Granola in a dispenser (like the cereals) rather than left in the open is more sanitary. Love that u leave bagels n tea out at night!! Thank you

The infrastructure is a bit old, but the cleanness and the staff are just amazing; with this price and location, they even serve free breakfast in the morning! Great experience!

Very clean, decent room for the price. The neighborhood is pretty industrial but there are good places to eat and it’s very convenient to Manhattan by public transit. The breakfast buffet is edible, warm, and free, although there aren’t a lot of options there. Housekeeping every day which is nice in this day and age.
