Not a 4 star hotel by any stretch - very basic, bed was not comfortable and breakfast buffet was in lobby. We had the ‘penthouse’ which had a lovely view and a balcony but that was the only good thing. Lack of mirrors so nowhere to do hair or makeup, full length mirror hard to use. Our first morning we were woken up at 10am by an insistent maintenance guy who wanted to come in our room, and just let himself in when we didn’t respond immediately. Really annoying when we wanted to lie in.

Bring ear plugs! The hotel itself is great. The rooms and staff are lovely. The street noise is horrendous. Horns, sirens, revving engines...you hear it all loud and clear. We also ended up walking up the hill everyday to the sites. Something to note.

Made to feel very welcome with port on arrival , staff helpful with advice on places to visit , really central position in Porto. There may be nicer higher star hotels but this one proves importance of location . So I will be back to Porto and will definitely be staying in the Editory
