Our stay was wonderful. My wedding was the next day and I wanted some time with my daughter. We walked to Cask & Kettle for supper and came back and sat in the solarium and pondered life. The building was beautiful and so historic. We got a kick out of the Knight in Shining Armour. I would highly recommend a stay at Chipman Hill & Suites. We will be back!

Place was nice. Staff were great. The only hiccup was the parking. Hotel.com said there was parking and it turns out there is only 6 spaces for the whole establishment. We were traveling with bikes and gear in the car so secure parking was important. The staff did help us out by allowing us to park our bikes in the office over night. Thanks.

The Suites on Sydney are a truly unique property. Fantastic Victorian era home with an excellent sun room. Had a toilet issue but was taken care of quickly. Convenient parking across the road.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this property. Our room was clean and comfortable. We even had a full kitchen. The building is a historical building and is beautiful. It was also very quiet. They arranged for parking for us. We received clear email communications on access to the building and parking. We will stay at the same property if we go back to Saint John.

Property excellent great nostalgic building My big concern is regarding parking The message via email doesnt correspond with actual realty. Regarding street parking i spoke with police officers of Saint John and the informed me that they do not give tickets from 12 am till 8 am .More concerning is the parking at the school .a costumer of yours a young lady got her window shattered in the late afternoon. THE area smelled of urine i myself saw 2 guys doing drugs regardless that it is legal Your policy says you are not responsible for any vandalism. Hey if that was my car i would have gone to a higher level you must have better security .They are more and more homeless and desperate individuals in Saint John and thats according to the police .I will not return to Saint John sadly because of this

The property is stunning. The main level is welcoming, especially the beautiful and relaxing sunroom. My room was comfortable and had all the amenities I needed for my stay. The street noise was more than I've experienced. A 3am fight outside was so startling to the point that I was afraid and couldn't go back to sleep. I was considering calling 911 it was so intense, but they moved down the street and someone stepped in to deescalate it. I would consider staying at this location again, but not as a solo female traveler.

It feels like a home away from home! Very clean, cozy and quaint. The furniture and decorations are consistent with the victorian era of the buildings and in good shape. As an antique building they have done such a great job in keeping the original feel and providing all the modern amenities.

What a beautiful place Chipman Hill Suites is! A gorgeous restored Victorian, our spotless suite was large with a comfortable bed and everything we needed. The balcony is a nice touch, with a view to beautiful uptown Saint John just a short walk away. And Mary Grace is a wonderful host, great communicator and a big help with parking our camper trailer.
What a beautiful place Chipman Hill Suites is! A gorgeous restored Victorian, our spotless suite was large with a comfortable bed and everything we needed. Tastefully decorated suite in a beautiful old building. Very clean and bed was exceptionally comfortable..Close and therefore walkable to uptown restaurants and to the Sunday market in Queens Square. Paid for Parking pass in front of building or in any residential area very convenient. Wifi was unreliable, password not always accepted. Disturbing noise emission from the neighbouring building’s a/c prevented us from opening balcony door to vent our suite.These two issues bring down the rating from excellant to great.

Had to carry suitcases up two long flights of steps. Room has a musty smell and very old fashioned decorations. There is no staff at the location and no place to eat breakfast and no info in the room. Appeared to be some stoned people hanging around and didn't feel comfortable walking to parking lot at night. Bed was comfortable and there is a fridge and small stovetop. Overall a strange place. I felt like I was in the Knives Out movie.

My Wife loved it as soon as we walked in. Yes she loves new beautiful clean hotels but Chipman Suites are different on a whole level. Old heritage buildings kept as original as possible by a small team of cleaners and maintenance staff who work wonders. Between the huge comfy king-size sled bed to the original window shutters our short visit was both comfortable and educational. The Chipman Suites on Sydney Street Saint John are staff less which was a little strange but you get plenty of e-mails explaining the parking arrangements and your initial arrival instructions so no need to panic. We will definitely be staying here again.

Beautiful building, close to shops, food and the harbour. Staff communication was excellent, including options and instructions for parking- as you are in the downtown area of Saint John, parking can be a bit challenging if it is your first visit. CHS staff was great on all counts.

Wonderful room, interesting and remarkable furnishings and fabulous bed. Well equipped and short walking distance to many great restaurants. The communication around parking was as good as it could be given that the St John parking regulations are incredibly difficult to understand and their parking map difficult to interpret.

I really enjoyed staying at Chipman Suites - although when I booked I had believed it was the location closer to the convention centre… the hotel is lovely, and once you get past the ‘no staff’ bit it’s quite freeing. I was a short walk to ‘uptown’ stores, bars, and restaurants. I enjoyed it enough that I stayed again a week later

The property itself is really lovely. Old Victorian, great period furniture, beautifully decorated. Our room was clean and bed comfortable. Thoughtfully appointed for our convenience...thick towels and nice bed linen, Coffee and tea, small kitchenette. Great communication by the innkeeper! The property itself is really lovely. Old Victorian, great period furniture, beautifully decorated. Our room was clean and bed comfortable. Thoughtfully appointed for our convenience...thick towels and nice bed linen, Coffee and tea, small kitchenette. Great communication by the innkeeper! Property excellent great nostalgic building My big concern is regarding parking The message via email doesnt correspond with actual realty. Regarding street parking i spoke with police officers of Saint John and the informed me that they do not give tickets from 12 am till 8 am .More concerning is the parking at the school .a costumer of yours a young lady got her window shattered in the late afternoon. THE area smelled of urine i myself saw 2 guys doing drugs regardless that it is legal Your policy says you are not responsible for any vandalism. Hey if that was my car i would have gone to a higher level you must have better security .They are more and more homeless and desperate individuals in Saint John and thats according to the police .I will not return to Saint John sadly because of this

Our stay was wonderful. My wedding was the next day and I wanted some time with my daughter. We walked to Cask & Kettle for supper and came back and sat in the solarium and pondered life. The building was beautiful and so historic. We got a kick out of the Knight in Shining Armour. I would highly recommend a stay at Chipman Hill & Suites. We will be back!

Wonderful room, interesting and remarkable furnishings and fabulous bed. Well equipped and short walking distance to many great restaurants. The communication around parking was as good as it could be given that the St John parking regulations are incredibly difficult to understand and their parking map difficult to interpret.

Lovely property! Very clean, well appointed rooms. Just a short walk from restos and pubs uptown. Great communication leading up to and during our stay too. Loved it and will be back!

We chose this property for the location and the experience of the period building, and it did not disappoint. Lots of great food and beer options close by, and walking distance to the markets and harbour. We knew going in that there weee a lot of stairs, and being on the third floor we certainly got a daily workout. The room was clean and had everything we needed for our 10 day stay. We never had a problem parking across the road, but it was summer break so no school.

Had to carry suitcases up two long flights of steps. Room has a musty smell and very old fashioned decorations. There is no staff at the location and no place to eat breakfast and no info in the room. Appeared to be some stoned people hanging around and didn't feel comfortable walking to parking lot at night. Bed was comfortable and there is a fridge and small stovetop. Overall a strange place. I felt like I was in the Knives Out movie.
