We went off season - Dec, so it was quiet. We were offered a free room upgrade as there was work on in the new wing.. the room was spacious, with a balcony, a well stocked bar and a good bathroom. There was a small pool at the back which was usable even though it was cold. Great base to discover the heart of the old architecture in the area, and very walkable to the Valletta ferry and the bars / restos in St. Julien. Staff were polite and helpful... The bits which could be improved - clear pricing on the use of the car park >> The hotel charged 30% more than the quoted price on hotels.com, and despite having double glazed balcony doors, we felt the room had fine dust on the floor...

Excellent stay. We were two singles and were upgraded to a room that was more appropriate for us, which was a nice gesture. We used the pool every day, a real bonus after busy days/jetlag.

Diego and Jurgen were responsive to any requests - they made check-in and check-out a pleasure - organised our taxi to the airport and were friendly and helpful throughout our stay. The hotel is clean, beds comfy, and kitchenette well equipped. We loved our stay. We are in our 60’s and reasonably fit - but Palazzo Violeta is about a ten minute walk uphill from Billuto Bay, so that’s something to be aware of. To us, it was worth the walk.

Great location in Sliema! The hotel is nestled between St. Julian’s Bay and Sliema seafronts. The hotel is located in a quiet, residential neighborhood, about 10-15 minute walk to either seafront location. There are small cafes, local bars, a pharmacy, and a mini market near the hotel. It was easy for excursion meet up points, the buses and to take the ferry. There are tons of restaurants, bars and cafes by the water along the Sliema seafront or St Julien’s Bay. It’s a beautiful, boutique hotel with a very accommodating & friendly staff. If you don’t mind a bit of walking, we would highly recommend it as a lovely & perfect place to stay. The hotel has a great pool, updated rooms, and great amenities…

Rummet är rent och har allt man behöver, framförallt en skön säng. Frukosten är helt ok. Det kan dock bli tråkig om man stannar länge på hotellet eftersom det är samma utbud varje dag, förutom kaffebröd. Mycket trevlig och servicevänlig personal! Men inget spa finns här (fast informationen på hotels.com talar annat). Trots det, är vi väldigt nöjda med vår vistelse här.

We enjoyed our stay at Hotel Palazzo Violetta at the end of April 2024. The hotel is spotless, the staff were friendly and helpful and we will stay here again, it is a very good location for buses/ferries but we will request a different room. We were located at the front of the hotel and it was quite noisy, we could have asked to move rooms but did not want to re-pack so we just endured the noise. The walk back to the hotel is all uphill which is fine if you are mobile. There are not many restaurants within immediate walking distance however there were more along the seafront facing Valletta. There are a few coffee shops within walking distance, but prices seemed to vary, we were able to request coffee from the bar in the hotel which was helpful. Our room had a mini-kitchen but only with instant coffee which we do not drink and there is a small supermarket within walking distance. I would recommend Hotel Palazzo Violetta as a place to stay when in Malta.

Barátságos, segítőkész személyzet. Hangulatos, tágas szoba, kényelmes és tiszta fürdőszoba. Reggelit nem fogyasztottunk, de a helyiség tetszett. Van privát medence is, bár mi nem tudtuk még használni szezon előtt. Csendes volt éjszaka. Tömeg közlekedéssel jól megközelíthető.

Staff at the hotel were lovely, very friendly and extremely helpful. The hotel was very nice but could be even better with a little more attention to detail. The room smelt a little musty as did the towels and breakfast area. This is easily improved and would make the hotel a lovely find.

Located on a quite back road between Sliema and St Julian's and easy walking distance from each area without the need to use the bus service which takes the longer route via the prom. An old building having been very well restored in keeping with other surrounding buildings. Clean throughout and will consider visiting again when next in Malta.

Wir hatten einen wunderschönen Aufenthalt, das Hotel ist sehr geschmackvoll eingerichtet und die Zimmer sind groß und sauber. Die einzige Kleinigkeit: wir hatten kleine Schaben im Bad, die offensichtlich durch den Abfluss in der Dusche gekommen sind, es wurde sich umgehend darum gekümmert. Fazit: jederzeit wieder und uneingeschränkte Empfehlung.

Abbiamo trascorso 5 piacevoli notti. hotel a Sliema. Pro: colazione abbondante e di qualità, cordialità e disponibilità di tutto il personale, camera spaziosa e pulita.ottima posizione. Buon rapporto qualità prezzo Contro: camera 407 poco insonorizzata, in particolare verso la 406. 3 notti con vicini rumorosi non hanno aiutato. Lenzuolo inferiore del letto, che purtroppo non c'è stato verso di bloccare sotto i materassi e che quindi continuava a stropicciarsi sotto di noi. In ultimo, ma credo sia un problema più di hotels.com.. da utente Gold mi sarei aspettato almeno la bottiglia di vino omaggio..

This is a unique property in an old building which has been restored, in our view there isn't much sound proofing between the rooms as we could hear chairs being moved in neighbouring rooms and people chatting in the corridor and an argument in reception one morning. The person that checked us in was lovely and extremely helpful, but another staff member was unhelpful when I asked for ear plugs, even suggesting that the noises were imaginary. The spiral stairs were also noisy and getting a suit case up them difficult, with the bathroom on the lower level night times were fun. Lighting was mostly with spot lights (plus 2 bedside lamps on the upper level) which were very bright, adding a floor lamp on the lower levelwould be a good idea. Apart from 2 metal chairs on the balcony the only other seating was the sofa bed which wasn't comfortable, given the room was sold as accomodating 4 people a 2 person sofa seems somewhat lacking. The kitchenette was useful but there wasn't really space to store anything we purchased without a lot of moving things around. It did have a decent selection of plates, glasses etc and even a t-towel and washing up liquid. Privacy might be an issue for a family as the glass partition between the living space and bathroom doesn't lock and is only frosted in the middle. The breakfast option is useful with hot and cold choices, there are shops near by and cafes about 10 minutes away as an alternative.

The person that checked us in was lovely and extremely helpful, but another staff member was unhelpful when I asked for ear plugs, even suggesting that the noises were imaginary. The spiral stairs were also noisy and getting a suit case up them difficult, with the bathroom on the lower level night times were fun. Lighting was mostly with spot lights (plus 2 bedside lamps on the upper level) which were very bright, adding a floor lamp on the lower levelwould be a good idea. Apart from 2 metal chairs on the balcony the only other seating was the sofa bed which wasn't comfortable, given the room was sold as accomodating 4 people a 2 person sofa seems somewhat lacking. The kitchenette was useful but there wasn't really space to store anything we purchased without a lot of moving things around. It did have a decent selection of plates, glasses etc and even a t-towel and washing up liquid. Privacy might be an issue for a family as the glass partition between the living space and bathroom doesn't lock and is only frosted in the middle. The breakfast option is useful with hot and cold choices, there are shops near by and cafes about 10 minutes away as an alternative.

We enjoyed our stay at Hotel Palazzo Violetta at the end of April 2024. The hotel is spotless, the staff were friendly and helpful and we will stay here again, it is a very good location for buses/ferries but we will request a different room. We were located at the front of the hotel and it was quite noisy, we could have asked to move rooms but did not want to re-pack so we just endured the noise. The walk back to the hotel is all uphill which is fine if you are mobile. There are not many restaurants within immediate walking distance however there were more along the seafront facing Valletta. There are a few coffee shops within walking distance, but prices seemed to vary, we were able to request coffee from the bar in the hotel which was helpful. Our room had a mini-kitchen but only with instant coffee which we do not drink and there is a small supermarket within walking distance. I would recommend Hotel Palazzo Violetta as a place to stay when in Malta.

Breakfast was excellent and varied - although the coffee machine needs replaced as it regularly took 5 attempts to get it to part with an espresso! All the staff were excellent. Every single one courteous, polite and helpful. Would happily stay there again.

Absolutely beautiful hotel with very friendly, charming helpful staff. Our room was very spacious with axnuce view of the pool (a rarity) in the old quarter. The only comment i would say, is, make sure you wear your walking shoes as the hill up from the bay is quite taxing. Good to walk off dinner & drinks. Special thx to Diago (top guy)

We had a fantastic stay at this hotel the staff were Fantastic in every aspect the breakfast was beautiful and the lovley chef cooked me an omelette every morning and it was beautiful. Prakash was just perfect making sure everyones needs was catered for he was a very lovley gentleman. The rooms amazing but on saying that everywhere was amazing from you opening the door till you left. What a gem of a find if ever I come to Malta again I'm 100% certain I'd try and get in here thank you for making it an amazing stay

Diego and Jurgen were responsive to any requests - they made check-in and check-out a pleasure - organised our taxi to the airport and were friendly and helpful throughout our stay. The hotel is clean, beds comfy, and kitchenette well equipped. We loved our stay. We are in our 60’s and reasonably fit - but Palazzo Violeta is about a ten minute walk uphill from Billuto Bay, so that’s something to be aware of. To us, it was worth the walk.

The staff was amazing! Very welcoming and committed to caring for guest needs. The rooms are spacious and comfortable. A good deal for the price. The downside for me was location. The hotel is located in a residential area. You have to walk or taxi to the waterfront or nicer restaurants.

Good choice at breakfast with either cooked breakfast or continental. Hotel is in a residential area so relatively quiet. Walk to sea front takes about 15mins and is all downhill, coming back takes a bit longer. You can get a taxi from the sea front to hotel for approx 3 euros.

Nice old property with lovely staff. Very convenient for buses to Valletta and not too far from ferry to Valletta. Had good sized room at front with lovely sun terrace. Rummet är rent och har allt man behöver, framförallt en skön säng. Frukosten är helt ok. Det kan dock bli tråkig om man stannar länge på hotellet eftersom det är samma utbud varje dag, förutom kaffebröd. Mycket trevlig och servicevänlig personal! Men inget spa finns här (fast informationen på hotels.com talar annat). Trots det, är vi väldigt nöjda med vår vistelse här.

Staff were really helpful in solving an issue outside of management’s control (construction drilling noise in nearby building), and moved us without delay. Fantastic property, very clean, exceptional balcony, large room, and a well-sized communal pool. Would recommend!
Staff were really helpful in solving an issue outside of management’s control (construction drilling noise in nearby building), and moved us without delay. Fantastic property, very clean, exceptional balcony, large room, and a well-sized communal pool. Would recommend!

Our room was a deluxe room on the 3rd floor and very spacious. The hotel is in a great location - very quiet in a residential area. There is some building work going on next door but as we were out all day it didn’t really bother us. Breakfast was very good - not huge selection but more than enough for what we needed. Staff were very helpful and friendly. There is a bit of a walk back and it is uphill so in the heat it can feel like a tough climb but it’s very doable and walks your dinner off! Overall a great little boutique hotel.

Lovely quiet hotel. Really well situated in centre of Sliema, for easy walking to restaurants & bars at St Julian’s and the ferry to Valletta. Very comfy room and good sized bathroom. Staff very friendly. Breakfast is excellent. Would recommend and would def stay again
