The Arlo is in a great location and the city view studio suite is stunning but the price compared with the value is not there. The roof top parties were extremely loud and kept us up into the night. The elevator was the single biggest pain point. We waited 12 minutes one time for an elevator to come. Additionally the front desk staff and security standing at the front door were not helpful or welcoming. For the price, you would except some level of service. The Hoxton one block away is a much better quality of service for what you pay.

I’m deeply disappointed by the state of this property, as it falls far short of expectations. The lack of updates is glaring, and has been happening for years, and the safety and cleanliness of certain areas are quite concerning. For example, the showers not only aren’t properly cleaned, but they also leak water through the glass partitions due to missing silicone or caulking. This results in water spilling out, soaking staff on the other side, and causing water damage down the walls. The elevators are another major issue. They are overcrowded with guests heading to the water tower, and there is no designated elevator for this purpose. It’s deeply troubling that guests have no priority, and outsiders, some of whom are intoxicated, are allowed to ride the same elevators. This creates a safety risk, as anyone can get off on any floor. The lack of control in such a basic part of the facility is alarming. This property has so much potential, but it’s disappointing to see these critical issues being neglected.

There is one very important thing to understand about this hotel. I picked it for the pool and on weekends they have larger parties at the pool and the adjacent bar for which they sell tickets and it is in great demand. Like people line up to go. So the pool is a very loud and crowded party on weekends. Second, getting all those people to the roof for the party greatly stretches the aging elevators. I would say during my two day stay, I spent over an hour waiting for elevators. There is no stair option up. The rooms are okay, the bar is okay, but I would never stay on a weekend again..

Wonderful locations. Adorable rooms, they are small per usual in NY but have everything you need. The water tower and rooftop are amazing. Very lively atmosphere in the weekends. Reserve pool beds ahead of time. The staff was great. Stayed for a week in July.

This hotel was ok but felt quite overpriced for what it is. Location is fantastic and there are great views. The rooms are basic and there is no soundproofing so very loud, we had to ask 3 times for a steamer. The roof was closed our whole stay despite the weather being perfect pool weather - we instead had to pay for a day pass to the nearby Bathouse.They have also somehow managed to break my suitcase when we stored our bags. Overall quite an average experience.

Although this is a VIP access hotel, we did not receive any VIP benefits. Rooms are tiny, there is hardly space to place a suitcase in the room. Lounge chairs at the pool have to be reserved, but staff is not able to put the reservation in the system. So we had to argue with pool staff. In the afternoon, pool is packed with day pass guests and friends. So it’s impossible to enjoy pool and nice views.

Upon arrival I noticed how dirty the floors were, also bed was very squeaky and last but not least there wasn’t any hot water, worst possible place to stay if your in Brooklyn! Don’t do it save yourselves the headache before booking.

Arlo accommodated my partner and I at 3am after having to cancel a prior reservation with a nearby hotel due to unfortunate circumstances. The staff was so nice and helpful. The hotel was beautiful and very clean. Definitely going back here when I return to Brooklyn.

The room was quite dirty with the flooring having water marks spread throughout. Our bed looked like it wasn’t refreshed in weeks and under the bed we found an enormous amount of dust. The lobby also had a dirty feel to it, probably because this hotel has been re branded and is there to really just generate revenue under the Arlo brand.

The room looked like a renovation in progress that needed to be completed. Paint splatters on the wood flooring, and huge blank grey walls with no artwork. The bed didn't fit into its frame, and had no headboard. Also, ridiculously tiny pieces of furniture(literally 1 tiny desk that looks like it would fit a 6-year old, and one tiny bedside table. The other side of the bed was jammed up against the wall, so the person that slept on that side had to crawl over the bed to get to their side. A bare curtain rod with the rings still on it. As for the bathroom, there was a dirty bathroom floor when we arrived that was never really cleaned during our three night stay, not even hair being vacuumed up. The shower didn't have a curtain or door, and the spray went halfway into the bathroom. All the doors into the rooms were all beat up-- never wiped down or maintained. And at checkout, there was a $120 plus charge on our room for a breakfast that we never ordered. We cannot in any way recommend this hotel.

Very clean! Easy checkin. Very quiet in room despite the active location. There’s a noise machine if needed but I didn’t event need it. Love the shower and soaps too!

The front desk and restaurant staff was very nice and helpful, but your housekeeping department is quite bad. The floors were dirty when we arrived, and were never cleaned properly, the beds were only made twice, even though we stayed 5 nights.

The hotel is in a convenient area. The bed was comfy. The bathroom was too small- even for one person it would have been difficult to navigate but with 2 people- it was impossible. Also, the water leaked all over the floor. And if you are sensitive to sound- be warned it’s loud.

Very nice aesthetic hotel. Rooms are small but it’s New York and it did the job to sleep and bath. NO SOUND PROOFING! I could hear literally everything from people in the halls to my neighbors taking a shower.

The hotel is cool. I love the area. My bed was a little squeaky in the room sizes are pretty small but that’s New York so it’s to be expected. It is loud but they give you a white noise machine and I always have that to fall asleep with so I can drown out any Noises. I kept getting woken up by street noise though.

The room was nice but did not seem worth the money. Maybe it's just NY but the room was much smaller than I expected for the price I paid. The glass shower was in the middle of the room, which was fine for me there alone but would have been quite awkward if traveling with friends. Appreciated the adjustable height black out shades. The service was hit or miss. Sometimes there was someone at the door who was helpful but other times no such luck. The doors are extremely heavy and trying to deal with that with luggage alone in the rain is pretty annoying, which happened half the time going in and out. Once there was even staff standing in the hallway who didn't bother to help while I was struggled dressed in formal wear to go to a wedding. The front desk staff who advised on the best way to get to the airport were very helpful and appreciated though! Also had assumed the bars would be open late on a holiday weekend Sunday but they were all closed by midnight, which was a little disappointing. Room service was tasty. Everything in the mini bar was crazy over priced, such as $7 still water, but i guess to be expected?

I was thinking of leaving a bad review because of the person who checked us in. They were actually rude and even made fun of me for not speaking English! But the rest of the staff was AMAZING, the hotel is beautiful, and the food is spectacular! So, one bad person isn't worth it! Thanks for changing my mind!

It’s truly a shame that the service at this hotel continues to be a miss. I was hopeful after being acquired by Arlo, that some things would improve. From the minute we arrived, no one to helped us with our bags. Hotel staff is rude to guests. Asked for a quiet room, and they placed us in a room closest to their rooftop party. Pool and Sungold menu are terrible. The elevators are still as low as ever. Room service did not even come to service our room! If you’re looking for parties, a pool with a scene and do not care about poor service, this is your best bet. Honestly, the only silver lining here is that they throw a good party on their rooftop. If you’re looking for a better experience, spend a little more and stay at the William vale instead.

The Staff and the Arlo, Williamsburg receive a standing ovation from the Herrera Family. They were so kind in offerings of assistance and information! We are so grateful we came here for ournfirst visit to NYC and will surely be returning to Arlo properties, specifically this one. Thank you Arlo staff.

There is no such thing about customer service at this hotel. We made a reservation for the pool and when we got there they did not have it and would not give us a seat. The next day they cancelled our pool reservation so the day we checked out we asked to use the pool since we did not get to and the lobby reception would not make us a reservation and we had to go up to the pool and beg them to let us use it - the hotel pool staff however was very accommodating and nice. We never received any room cleaning.

Liked that it was walking distance to a lot of coffee shops and restaurants. It’s about a 10 minute walk to the subway entrance if you want to leave Brooklyn. Loved the view from our room looking out to nyc. We didn’t love that we were limited to two cans of water per day in our room. We didn’t like that the water that came out of all the faucets and shower smelled like dirty metal water. We didn’t like that the water that came out into the tub was yellow. We also showered in cold water two days in a row and the water pressure was low until I had someone come fix it despite us complaining right away for something to be done. The main curtain in front of our bed was broken when we got there and had to have the staff TAPE the curtain up so we could see the view we paid for only after I requested a room change of a refund for the days the curtain was on the floor not being able to be moved.

Sungold was a delicious restaurant right downstairs, they offered a $15 dinner credit for staying there (I wasn’t aware of that until I paid for dinner). Really good food and unique options, service was a bit slow unfortunately. The pool had very beautiful views but the pool deck was very slippery. I was a little nervous getting out of my chair, as I recently had knee surgery and didn’t want to slip! Good service and delicious small food menu available. The water tower was cool to check out! Beautiful views of NYC. Overall, the decor and details of the entire hotel was stunning. I really loved the bedroom, all of the natural light and beautiful bathroom design.

Wonderful funky little spot in the neighborhood. Great for a staycation. Everything was wonderful except for the CHEAP mattress. I kept rolling down into what felt like a hole in middle of the mattress. Totally unacceptable for the price. I wanted to extend my stay but my the pain in my back wouldn’t allow it!
