Room was very nice. Very good location. Draw backs: 1) room availability. 3pm is checkin time. The room was not ready until 5:33. 2) once your car is parked for the Valet at $100, you have to wait for 1 hour for it to be returned. They did not tell us this in advance. Basically don't be in a hurry when staying at the Luma.

Have stayed here many times and is usually excellent. This time not so much. Room not ready until 4:00, a couple of items in the room didn’t work and a two hour wait to get our car from valet. These made me take it down from a usual 4 stars to 3. But still like staying here and will return.

I paid extra for a skyline view and the view from our room was not even close to a view. I paid 90 for valet parking and was told when checking out to call an hour in advance to get my car and it took them 2 hours and 15 minutes to get my car. The room was clean and the hotel is beautiful though. I just wouldn’t have valeted my car or paid extra for a skyline view If I knew that what I got was what it was.

Great hotel in the middle of time square. Walking distance to shopping and nice restaurants. Restaurants in the hotel top notch and served great drinks. Loved the happy hour. No gym is the only issue I had.

Floors are very uncomfortable to walk on. Slippers are provided, but that is not very good. It feels like walking on a rope rug. Floors were not clean on check-in, but that was quickly remedied, and we got a "treat" for the inconvenience. Great location and great bar. Being right by Bryant Park for the holiday season is a real plus. Convenient for good dining and the theater district. We will definitely come back.

We had a great stay here! The room had everything we needed, plus enough space to move around (unlike other NYC hotels we have stayed in!). The location was convenient to everything we were doing, and I loved being near Bryant Park. I also liked that we weren't on a busy road, so it wasn't super loud at night. The bed was comfortable. The only thing I felt needed attention was the mildew in the bathroom. While the hotel seems fairly new, the bathroom was looking a little like it needed attention. The staff were really helpful and friendly and welcoming each time we saw them. We will definitely stay here again!

The room was clean and spacious. Although the curtain in the room was a bit smelly, spotted and some mold because of the water. If they could change this it would be perfect. Otherwise very good location in the middle of manhattan and to subway. Also quite quiet for being so close to time square

A very warm greeting each day from Hydi was appreciated. Great room on 21st floor with views of offices and ‘the ball’. Excellent facilities including ‘ the sleep machine’ and chocolates on some nights (housekeeping was very uneven, not daily, and the frette pillow cases were stained and turned over to hide this .We discovered them after second day). Very comfy beds and soft pillows, and spaces to eat and sit in room. The robot was a joy and always made us laugh when delivering to our door. All food we had in the restaurant was of exceptional quality ( the pastas are phenomenal with first clas sauces) and all service was warm hospitable and kind. Very central. Having a great cafe next door and a bagel shop a few steps away meant breakfast was easy. The adjacent park is very pleasant and well used for food and drink. We would use this hotel again.

We had to call on 2 occasions to get our room cleaned. 2 out of 5 days is a bit much. They did give us a $200 credit, but only after we brought this to their attention. At the end of the day, what you want is to come to a clean room. The Staff were super friendly and did understand our discomforts.

After extensive research I chose Luma based upon the positive reviews, reasonable pricing, and location. It exceeded all expectations! Amazing staff members that were friendly and helpful throughout the stay! Location is close to everything but not so close you feel bothered by the crowds or noise. The lobby, elevator, and rooms are all incredibly clean and beautifully designed! This is my hotel of choice when traveling to NYC!!

The cleaning needs improvement. Vents were covered in dust that was easily not cleaned for months, if not years. It was disgusting. Otherwise they were responsive to our request to clean them. The staff was kind and attentive. Loved the location and beds, and the quiet in our suite. The view was horrid. Two brick walls. We got the two king suite.

We stayed 6 nights. The first 4 nights were in room 1901. The room was lovely clean nice view ,but nothing spectacular. I always like to write about the beds The beds in this room were perfect. A little on the firm side and very comfortable. We had to move because we extended our stay. Room 1906 was nothing like the first room. The view was a brick wall so the room was very dark all day. The beds were also different . The mattress and in second room was lumpy, soft and bed was uneven. Made a big difference with poor sleep.. Bathroom small and fair water pressure. The hotel is in the middle of time square so expect a lot of crowds and noise. Staff is nice

I booked what was advertised as a “suite,” expecting a spacious and comfortable room, only to arrive and find it was smaller than a standard hotel room. The photos online were completely misleading, giving the impression of a much larger, more luxurious space. For the price I paid, the value was nonexistent—this so-called suite was not worth it at all. The entire experience felt like a bait-and-switch. I would not recommend staying here if you’re looking for an honest representation of what you’re paying for. Many reviews claim it’s off Times Square and you cannot hear an anything but that simply is untrue as well. Loud Police sirens and horn honking is highly expected during the night

An excellent hotel in a fantastic location, within a couple of minute walking distance of Times Square, 5th Avenue, Bryant Park, the Subway and a Wholefoods store for snacks. It is the perfect location in central New York but tucked away from the craziness of Times Square. The rooms are of a good size for central New York and are very well appointed with Dyson hairdryers, Nespresso Coffee machines and nice toiletries. We were so pleased that we chose this hotel for our first trip to New York and would definitely come back.

Amazing place to stay in the city. We have been here several times and always enjoy it. Staff goes above whats needed. Omar is terrific in the bar. And when my daughter had to leave at 4:30 in the morning, one of the door attendants stood with her to make her feel safe while the other went and personally flagged a taxi for her. Above and beyond service.

Great area, close to Times Square and Bryant Park. Staff was amazing. We left our passports, some cash, and some credit cards in our safe and didnt realize until we were at the airport to fly home. Within an hour the head of housekeeping recovered our items. We had them back within 2 days

Yamil and Gus were the friendliest and most helpful doormen. They always asked about our day and what we did. They readily offered up restaurant suggestions. Alyssa, Deborah, and Heidy made sure we had everything we needed. We went to NYC for our 30th wedding anniversary and they had a bottle of wine waiting for us in our room. The hotel was well maintained and clean and we loved that we were just outside of the busy Time Square area but close enough to be able to walk to most attractions. The rooms were above and beyond what we expected. We will definitely be back to Luma for our next trip to NYC!

The location—right beside Bryant Park—could not have been better for us. Visiting NYC the week before Christmas proved to be a bit more hectic than even we had anticipated—however LUMA provided a warm and soothing oasis in the middle of a cold, blustery storm. I will never forget the reception the restaurant gave us one particularly cold night, as we dragged ourselves inside after a day of fighting through crowds and chaos. Having struck out on our other dinner reservations, we returned bedraggled and defeated—our sole remaining option being the restaurant at the hotel. That meal ended up being our best and most memorable one—with great food and a genuinely warm and welcoming environment! My 8-year old son, who has a palate that belies his years, still talks about that meal and it was one of his favorite memories from a trip that included Lion King tickets and a view from the Top of the Rock….

The location is great because it’s not far from the excitement of Times Square or Broadway. The rooms were clean and well appointed for a 4 star hotel. All the staff including the bellhop, front desk, and even the restaurant were very nice and accommodating. The dinner at the hotel restaurant was one of the best meals of the trip. I would definitely stay here again!
