Great little hotel just away from the Lobsterpot. When we booked we thought we were staying in the pub. This was not the case the check in is at the pub then you go the hotel at the other side of the carpark, We took our bags tgrough the pub only to be turned around. The staff were loveley and very helpful and the hotel was loveley and clean.

Comfortable bed, clean room, good location for what we had planned. Plenty of onsite parking, fairly quiet despite being next to a building site and main road. Pub breakfast was ok and plentiful at a reasonable price. Decent selection of drinks sadly no Becks Blue. It was good.

A massive carpark, best to leave your bags in the car as reception is in the pub and the rooms are in a different building Quick check in all info given Room was up some stairs no lift available The room was a good size plenty of space as was the bathroom. Shower was hot and powerful, bed was very comfortable WiFi wasn't that great Evening meal was OK plenty of choice on the menu good value No breakfast included but could add if wanted. A short walk to the seafront also good for a run . Back again on the 2/12/24 Still excellent value and good to stay ! Would I stay again and recommend definitely yes

Nice hotel to stay in. Quiet place at edge of town so needed to drive in. Even though it was a modern building the was no lift to get me and my big bag to upstairs room. And the stair lights need to stay on longer.

The room was very clean, the lady at check in was very nice and helpful. Overall a very nice stay a bit of a walk into the centre of town but we like walking so it didn’t hinder our stay at all. Lovely big free car park too.

Accommodation is comfortable and clean with some excellent breakfast food. The Marston pub seating is very worn and the restaurant could do with a refresh. The outside seating area has a number of tables and chairs that are very worn with a few broken and marked off with hazardous tape. Let’s hope the place gets a well earned refresh soon.

The carpet leading to the room was filthy. Sadly it turned out the carpet in the room was filthier still. There was mould growing on the bathroom extractor fan and overall it was an unpleasant room to be in. I was glad to leave.

Room-only for one night. Check-in was friendly and helpful, and it was good to see that the rooms were in a separate building to the pub, with plenty of parking. The room was basic and a little tired but spacious and quiet enough. The double bed was comfortable and the towels were nice and thick, but what let the whole experience down was a lack of the most basic requirement of any overnight accommodation: cleanliness. There were jet black hairs in the bath, sink and toilet, as well as the tops of skirting boards. The bathroom air vent had not been wiped in ages (obvious to a tall guest), the toilet had not been descaled, and even the chrome taps had not been polished with a towel, which takes just seconds to do. I normally leave good reviews and don't like to look for negatives, but in this case, I cannot recommend the Lobster Pot as cleanliness is the most basic and easy-to-meet requirement of any hotel stay. And one other thing that is most bizarre - the only hanging rail in the room has a shelf unit so close underneath it that even a shirt or blouse has to be draped over the front of the shelving, let alone a dress or suit ...somebody wasn't thinking when they positioned those units one over the other - they were clearly designed to go in separate places!

Good location, very clean and well decorated. Plenty of pillows and towels. Pub served lovely foods including a good breakfast at a good cost which included hot drinks, juices and toast. Would definitely stay here again and recommend.

Check in was very good. Friday night meal was ok, shame no mixed grill, steak, hunters chicken or pedigree bitter. Reported faulty shower 8.30am Saturday morning whilst having breakfast, my wife had a shower and if flooded the bathroom, including soaking the light fitting. She had to use all the towels to stop the bedroom flooding. I was unable to use it. We received a call at 4.00pm to offer a change of room but we were out for the day, so as we were told it was still going to be repaired we said it would be okay. We went for dinner later and checked again and were told it would still be repaired. We left Sunday, shower still not repaired. Quite honestly we should have been told it would not be done. The staff are extremely nice, but it appears they lack support. Could not possibly give a positive review of the place, there were even dirty footprints in the entrance from what appeared to be a plasterer that were not cleaned all weekend

Service was good. Room looked clean on the surface but looking a little closer thick dust all round edges of the room. Bathroom had bits down the plug hole & toilet not cleaned around the rim. Food was terible, everything was over cooked.

Easy to find and convenient for restaurant on site. Standard room layout akin to travelodge etc. Comfortable enough but I could have done with some instructions on how to use the heating controls. However, small glitch and overall good value for money.

The room and food were excellent, and most of the staff were lovely, its obvious they were very short staffed, but one of the front of house staff were very rude, a young thin girl with glasses, not only did she completely ignore me at check in but at breakfast she shouted to a few of us who were waiting to be seated when i asked her if we should get out own table, we are nusy clearing tablets if you don't like it go somewhere else, rolled her eyes and walked off, im am myself in hospitality and know whats its like to be short staffed and under pressure, but you don't ignore your customers or speak to them in that manner

Upon checking in we found the toilet was not clean. Told the staff about it and they claimed to be busy. I had to complain multiple times to get it cleaned. It was not worth the price. No one picks up the call at the reception I had to call multiple times to get through to someone. The staff were very rude.

Checked in at the bar area. Quite a wait but not the staffs fault, just needed more than 2 to deal with bar, restraunt and checkins. Nice room, very comfy bed and clean. Had dinner in the restaurant, food was nice and expected the wait. Went to breakfast next morning, waited a while to be seated, again not enough staff, 1 person doing everything, she was pleasant but clearly had too much to do. I did manage to get a coffee and slice of toast, after 45 mins minutes had to give up on getting breakfast, told it would be another 10/15mins. Overall, yes I would stay again and hope the management sort out staffing issues. It was just after new year.

Under staffed but once checked in room nice size, veru clean and comfy bed. Check in is inside the bar, bar staff very busy so waiting a while for check in. Only allowed one key card for room as they had ran out. We will stay here again bit need more staff dealing with horel guests.

Check-in procedure was quick; nicely greeted by receptionist and staff in restaurant who are helpful. Hotel room was clean, but could do with a luggage rack or table to put suitcases on without kneeling to the floor. Enjoyed our evening meal, but obvious they are short-stuffed as long wait for drinks.

We arrived mid-afternoon, checkin was straightforward. We ate in both evenings, food was excellent, with plenty of choice. Staff were very friendly and extremely helpful throughout our stay. Room was clean. We walked in and back from the town centre (about 30 mins steady walking). We will definitely return later in the year when we can enjoy the summer evenings outside.

The hotel room, was clean and tidy, the bed was comfortable, but needs moving away from the bathroom wall as it was very tight. ideal place to sleep, as its away from the pub. The food wasn't to my liking, as chips had skin on them, with no other options, also not many different meals, mostly chips, with every things. Breakfast not to my wifes liking, as ither not hot enough, or overcooked. As myself cooked the same each day for a full breakfast, would have been nice, but you cant have it right all the time. Outside was very nice.

Bed was comfortable Housekeeping good. Issue with one meal which was refunded. Hairdryer was dangerous -we reported and it was taken away and replaced. Otherwise we had a comfortable stay. Breakfast was excellent. Dining room chairs very shabby and could do with replacing. No shelf for toiletries in bathroom.

Enjoyed the stay, convenient parking, clean room. Nice bar area. However they need more staff, slow table service for evening meal and especially at breakfast time where one guy seemed to be the only member of staff on duty dealing with a full restaurant.

Accommodation is great, shame about the actual pub though which is one of the supposed benefits of this location. Average food and very slow service, and given this is on the edge of town there aren’t any other walkable dining options.

Easy to find. Easy to park. Clean and warm. Comfy bed. Polite staff. The evening meal I had was definitely not good value for money. I think it was called Hunters chicken. On one half of my plate I had a small amount of Mashed potato and a piece of tough and chewy chicken and the other half was filled with old chopped lettuce - nothing else. It was around £15. Overall, I would stay at The Lobster Pot again but not eat in the restaurant.
