The Myrtles

Beautiful grounds. Cabins were perfect and in walking distance to restaurant and gift shop. The tour guide was fantastic, we went in the mystery tour at night and a tour during the day. Very tranquil atmosphere.

Loved the room. Employees are very friendly. We especially enjoyed out host and tour guide, Rainy Day. She was wonderful. The food at the restaurant is definitely a must and well worth the price!!

Whole place was superb, room was small but lovely, beautiful smell once you opened the door! Lots of facilities on site, beautiful context, great complimentary house tour, breakfast included which you can eat in cafe or take out (they will give you a voucher on check-in). Restaurant on site expensive but good food, busy (obv popular with locals), good service.

The grounds keeper was a delightful person worth her weight in gold. As a whole, the plantation was idyllic. The room was pleasant. Would have been very nice to have a refrigerator and ice machine more readily available. The tours were very informative, fun, and interesting. The restaurant on the grounds was outstanding.

Unique, the tours were interesting and the guide was very knowledgeable. We wish there was more of the property to tour. Loved the pond with the chairs in the middle and the visit from the ducks. So cute.

Beautiful grounds and house. Excellent service in the restaurant, gift shop, and coffee shop. The restaurant is amazing. The tours are fun and informative. The doll room did not disappoint.

We will definitely stay here any time we are in St Francisville! The reception, coffee bar and restaurant staff were all exceptional. The room was beautiful, comfortable and white glove clean.

My grandmother always wanted to stay at The Myrtle’s Plantation. We stayed Saturday night. The staff was very friendly. The cottage was very nice and clean. The tour we took was entertaining. I highly recommend staying an evening at The Myrtle’s Plantation!

Stayed in he Octavia room and it was so nice. Plenty of room, nicely appointed, new, overlooking pond, and peaceful. We really enjoyed our stay and will return. It was a perfect little getaway.

Myrtle Plantation was lots of fun for me and my sister. We stayed in the doll room. Very scary and even locked my sister in the closet lol. Did not experience any paranormal activity very vintage and old rooms. Full size bed not Queen. Separate bathroom from the room which is exclusively yours. Beware stairs up to the rooms are very steep and hard to walk up and down.

I was not a fan of the Fannie Williams room at all. I didn’t request that room and I did not like having to walk down the hall to the bathroom and no tv in the room. I know some people are interested in the haunted aspect of the property but it was not an enjoyable experience for me. Thank you

Beautiful property. Comfortable bed. Very low water pressure in shower. Onsite Restaurant 1796 was excellent with great staff, great cocktails, and excellent food. Even accommodated my wife's gluten free diet needs. Elta Coffee onsite for breakfast was a disappointment. Even though I gave notice ahead of time(twice) of my wife's Celiac disease requiring gluten free options they had no gluten free options available.

Great place. Friendly people. Would nice to have refrigerator in room especially since restaurant isn’t open on Sunday evening. Also robes and extra towels. Beautiful property. Will stay again and highly recommend to anyone to take the time to visit.

Had a great time. Walls are pretty thin so if you hit your significant other expect repercussions. They left pretty quick.

The Myrtles is ABSOLUTELY stunning! Even more so than in the photos!!!! The grounds are gorgeous and the trees with Spanish moss are magical! The staff is amazing! The evening tour so good!! Like must not miss good!!! The breakfast is excellent!!!! So why not a 5 star review? Well….our room was beautiful…but…the mattress and bed were horribly uncomfortable. The bed creaked every teeny tiny move you made and the mattress was awful. And when I say awful, I mean that on 3 separate times during the night I grabbed a blanket a pillow and tried to sleep in the hardwood floor on the room. I’m almost 50, have chronic back pain and have had back surgery if that paints a picture of how desperate I was to give that even a thought. No surprise the floor wasn’t comfortable and I kept going between the bed and the floor at least 3 times that I can recall during the night. At one point even tried using all the rooms pillows to create a makeshift floor mattress. Nothing was comfortable. I hardly slept a wink. I was in the John Leake room. Also the difference in one degree on the thermostat was the difference between melting and freezing, something another guest experienced in their room as well as we chatted at breakfast. They said their bed was also very uncomfortable and the creeking was bad as well. They stated they thought about sleeping in their truck at one point during the night. It was then I regretted not thinking of sleeping in my vehicle!

There was a problem with the A/C in our cabin so the manager upgraded us at no extra charge. They made sure we were completely satisfied. Excellent staff and beautiful grounds.

Wonderful staff and beautiful room

We stayed at the Myrtles for 1 night, it’s been a dream for years and goodness it was anticlimactic! Advertised “breakfast buffet” was 1 slice of (half toasted) toast with avocado spread that was it! Arrived on a Sunday and restaurant closed, that’s fine if there would be an option in town to eat! Negative. The only place open was McDonalds and Sonic! Shower needs a desperate descale as almost no water came out of the 6 holes in the shower head. Coffee machine needs a descale as didn’t work. Pillows were extremely lumpy and pretty uncomfortable. The free champagne was mentioned but not given. Should be put in the guest room prior to arrival not stashed away behind reception. Honestly if you can stay elsewhere I would suggest that. Property grounds are nice though.

We arrived late and Andrew was kind and courteous as he showed us to our accommodations. Our tour guide and check-out staff were efficient and kind. Special note about our breakfast staff. She was thoughtful and knowledgeable about the property and its history. What an asset to your business. Thank you for a wonderful stay.

Staff was very friendly and helpful. The grounds are beautiful and we love the perks of having a complimentary breakfast and tour of the plantation. That was our 6th time going because we love it so much!

Wonderful hospitality!!! The entire staff, from custodians to baristas to our tour guide (shout out to Charles) were patient with our kiddos, they answered all their questions, they showed genuine curiosity in what the kids were talking about! It was a great experience. It will definitely be one of or daughters favorite birthday experiences!

Town is close by

A truly beautiful and peaceful place to stay! The history of the plantation was a plus.

In St. Francisville, where shadows creep, A haunted mansion guards secrets deep. Beneath moss-draped oaks, this town is rare. you won’t see Starbucks, just local fare, In this quiet town, with history grand, The spirit of the South takes your hand.

It was absolutely beautiful. There was a restaurant onsite but it closed early that day. However, a couple minutes drive away were several options. We dined at the Frances and it was delicious. The night tour of the Myrtles was awesome as well.

We visited the Myrtles once before to tour the house. When we had an overnight stop, we chose the Myrtles. We only wished we had made our reservation a few weeks ahead of when we did, because we missed out on a inside room in the main house.

The Myrtle's is an amazing place to stay for a week or even a weekend when in New Orleans. If you like the scary adventure it's a must but also if you love the peace and quiet of your vacation. The Myrtle's offer something for every type of people and it's a lovely place to stay.

Nice if you're already in Baton Rouge or that area for some reason, not worth a drive from New Orleans or farther. It's the middle of no where.

I enjoyed everything about this property. The cabin was beautiful and location perfect. The tour guides were very knowledgable about the history of the house and the haunted history of the house. Restaurant 1796 had wonderful service and delicious food. We had a wonderful girls trip and will do this again soon!!!!
