This was a great place to stay the staff was amazing. They have bottled water and cookies at check in. Rooms were small but thats typical. Very clean room. The elevators get really busy. Do yourself a favor and stay on a lower floor to use the stairs when busy. Super convenient to everything in the city. Subway stop right down the street along with a good bagel and pizza place.

Staff was very friendly and hotel in great location. Free water and cookies whenever asked! Only complaints were the shower leaked due to a crack and towels were sometimes stained. As well, at times the elevators were extremely slow and you’d be waiting 30 minutes to go up or down which was a bit frustrating and seemed to be a complaint by many when discussing with other guests.

Parking agency is a scam. Hotel say $60/day. The parking agency scans the ticket and say hotel didn't validate the ticket and try to charge you $100/day. If we try to call the hotel, takes 20 minutes to connect to front desk. With family and kids together, we will hesitate to go back to hotel and get the ticket validated again which is the parking agency's opportunity to put us in a situation to pay the charge they say and get out asap if we are in a hurry. But I went back to hotel and they said they already validated 20 minutes ago and I made hotel to call the agency. When hotel calls them, they say ticket is validated. I lost my valuable time at NYC #SavedFromScam

The room very small, not as big as the 20m2 described in the the website. There was no room fridge to keep tiny snack for the little ones. No indication of what so ever services availible. They say that they can put a crib in the room but never managed to put due to the lack of space abviousely. It was said that parking is available, at the end of the day the parking is not the Hotels parking, the fees are exagerated, the wait was so long (40 minutes to drop the car) for no apparent reason. And the fees explained at the hotel are doubled once you're in the parking. No access to the car through the whole stay and you have to keep the keys with the "valet" that didn't valet anything. Thanks but never again!

The hotel room was fine and the housekeeper did a good job cleaning it but the elevators broke down so it took nearly 30 mins-45 mins to go up and down the elevators. Times Square is convenient but it’s not the most cleanest area so keep in mind when going with kids. Overall 3/5

Staff was overall friendly and accommodating. No trouble getting extra towels. Clean room, comfortable beds. Room service did not always make the beds but that’s not the end of the world. Waiting for the elevators to get to your floor was the worst part but unavoidable

Great location but globally the worst elevator setup and experience ever. There was always a 10-30 minute wait for the elevator to arrive and no logic to the programming. I will not stay again specifically due to the elevator problem.

Property was clean and appeared as advertised. Check-in was a lengthy process due to a very long line and limited staff of only 2 at 3:00 check in time. There was not much of a view, our 5th floor room overlooked a lobby or sitting area of some sort. The roof bar is just that, only a bar, where you must be 21 or older to enjoy the views. The elevators were very slow and crowded. We had to wait for several minutes to get to our rooms from the lobby. On Saturday night 2 of the elevators were only used for roof top bar patrons, one elevator was out of commission- used for laundry delivery and the last and only available elevator could be used by guests! Of course this would have taken an extremely long time but we were able to walk to our rooms on the 5th floor with some help from some guests who opened an emergency exit door for us. Overall it was a pleasant stay and the cheapest tastiest pizza at 2 Bros is a short walk away as well as a nice coffee shop right next door. I would recommend this property but do your research to ensure it meets all of your needs.

On Saturday night around 11 pm, it took over 20 minutes to get an elevator up to my room because one of the four elevators was designated for the rooftop bar even though very few people were using it. Seemed like paying hotel customers should be prioritized.

I was very disappointed with this hotel. 0 stars. The door to the room had exposed wood like someone was trying to break in. The shower and wall had stains. There was an issue with the elevator where it wasn’t accepting the floor that I was going to. There was no functioning ice machines. The staff wasn’t really friendly. No one gave a brief overview of the hotel upon check in. Not to mention how small the rooms were. There wasn’t a microwave or fridge in the room. Overall, I would not return. The best thing about this hotel was the location. And even that were filled with persons who looked like they were under the influence of substances.

Lobby needs a lot of work. Chaos checking in, chaos checking out. Damaged floors, tiny space, and super crowded. Elevators were miserably slow and poorly ventilated. Shower was cracked and had mildew in one corner. This is the room they put me in despite me having Hilton Honors gold status.

This dark, dingy location is in desperate need of updating. It looks nothing at all like the photo. There are holes in the flooring in the lobby, the seating in there is badly cracked (terrible first impression). There are weird decorations everywhere. The guest rooms are not updated, cracks in everything, old carpeting, not filthy but you also get the feeling it isn't the cleanest either (there was a huge gob of lotion left on the toilet lid)...the ironing board was broken, the shower floor had cracks in it, the veneer on the furniture was peeling off. The staff seems very very nice, so this isn't a reflection on them -- clearly management/corporate needs to invest in this place or drastically lower prices, because it is not worth the 4 star prices/2 star experience.

The everyday Room cleaning was awful , glasses that were used were not taken , trash was left, towels were literally rags, towels just not picked up after being called and reminded. People were literally leaving used towels outside rooms so they could be collected . The bathrooms were not cleaned . Twl of the four lifts would be reserved for rooftop entry so they not work on some days so the queues were awfully long . Smell in the lobby due to the store next door. The lobby was filled with people at all times either waiting to take the elevator or talk to the front desk . Overall pathetic experience , not what’s expected from this Chain.

An average hotel, that while close to Times Sq and transport is not in a very nice area. The hotel lobby was a crowded zoo at all times of the day, expect to queue for lifts almost always. We had a room on the 3rd top floor, Saturday night we barely slept with thumping music from the rooftop bar. I can only imagine what those in the rooms above went through The room itself was comfortable enough, the bathroom is tiny but in decent condition. If you get a good deal this hotel may be acceptable.

The hotel enjoys a convenient location and the staff were welcoming, with a smooth check-in and check-out process. However, noticeable wear and tear in the guest room, corridors, and lifts indicates a need for maintenance. In-room amenities such as a mini fridge and basic toiletries would have enhanced the stay. The air conditioning unit was both noisy and slow to cool the room. The area outside the property is expected to be loud due to the location but the double glazed windows did a great job to cancel the noise.

The room was very clean. We had a king bed. The rooms are quite small and designed to accommodate one or two adults sharing a bed. We made it work with two adults and an infant without major issues, but no doubt it was tight. No room for pack and play or crib, if you have small kids. All manageable, and this is the type of hotel where you aren’t going to spend a lot of time in the room. Staff were absolutely awesome. Extremely courteous and patient. One person even walked with my mother in law to a nearby drug store. The continental/buffet breakfast was acceptable but nothing special. Plenty of other options for food in the area but the hotel breakfast was a good option to quickly eat before heading out. Location was near enough to Times Square, which comes with the standard pros and cons in terms of access to transportation, noise, safety, etc. The area generally felt safe and no one bothered us. All-in-all for the price this is a great option for a clean place to stay with no frills, and very helpful staff. Would stay there again.

Check in was awesome. Cookies! When we checked in our front desk person thanked us for being Hilton Honors members and took time to give us recommendations for places to eat, made sure we received our Hilton Honors points and gave us extra bottles of water. The housekeeping staff was very friendly and the rooms were cleaned and serviced daily. We had a lightbulb out and housekeeping immediately contacted maintenance who came right up and changed it out. The concierge set us up for our trip back to LaGuardia for the day we left and made sure we had our instructions and receipt. They came and found us in the lobby when our driver arrived. Carlos helped us store our luggage the morning we left, so we could go out into the city until we needed to be back that afternoon. Everyone was so friendly and offered cookies multiple times, always asking first if we had any nut allergies. The location was close to a lot of restaurants and easy to access for ride shares and taxis. The rooftop bar looked lovely with great views from the photos, although we never made it up there. I would go back and would definitely recommend the hotel. It was also a good value.

Great hotel, comfy beds, clean rooms and fantastic staff. Can’t speak highly enough of your staff member Sata who came to our rescue in the lobby when my daughter fainted. She was incredibly helpful and made sure we had everything we needed. Would definitely recommend this hotel for anyone wanting to stay in New York close to subways and walking distance to most attractions.

No housekeeping for 2 days, but day of check out they are knocking on our door at 10:00 am Had to ask for towels at 11:45 pm and finally got what I requested almost an hour later. Elevator use is horrible. Takes forever to go from room to lobby because they are so full and slow. Check in-room not ready at 3:00. Which we could have understood if staff was up front with us the two times we stopped in prior to 3:00. Bedding- main cover between two sheets was dirty and stained.

I would never stay at this property again. This was my 1st trip to New York and upon arriving we had the absolute worst experience with checking in. Their card machine was down and kept declining our credit card for check in. Before they realized it was them and not me, they were extremely rude and dismissive. The guy checking me in continuously told me it was my problem and not them when I tried 4 different cards...and not once did he apologize once another co worker or assistant manger told him it was their system.....We waited for what seemed like forever for them to figure out what to do, while the line behind us continued to grow longer and longer. We were so exhausted and frustrated. They then had us fill out a long authorization form which charged me a dollar to even do that. When I told them that, they again denied it when the charge is literally right there...We were never offered compensation or anything to help with the huge inconvenience; not even an apology. I would never stay at this hotel again .

The Double Tree Hilton New York Times Square West was a great place for our family to stay for our trip to the Big Apple. The location is perfect - close to public transportation and very walkable to most midtown attractions. The rooms were clean and the staff was very friendly and helpful.

Unfortunately for the price paid for the night did not match property besides it being close to city areas visited. We got a low floor with no view. But just views of all the mess in lobby area and construction. I asked about parking - not one staff member could explain how much or how many hours it covered for self parking or vallet. Room was ok for what we selected but wall paper coming apart. And AC unit rattled entire stay. Not the most relaxing stay although quiet from street noise. The only part that was convenient was location but also near a PO office. I was with my 5 yr old which made me not feel safe.

The property was in a good location for accessing a lot of the tourist places we visited. Also relatively close to Times Square. A lot of food options close by. Kind of a sketchy area though. Super close to the Port Authority Bus Terminal which was extremely helpful.

Good location in nyc—an easy walk to many places. Getting an elevator takes too long during busy parts of the day. The bathrooms are clean and modern but hardly any place to place items you need. Some poor design thinking. It was still an overall good experience.

Our room was nice and very clean and comfortable. Carlos, the bellman, was awesome! He helped us navigate the city and subway system. There is breakfast in the hotel restaurant which was good and had some good options. You can pay for coffee to go and get free refills until a certain time. They only have valet parking but our vehicle was taken care of :)

Room was adequate and clean. Small but typical for New York area. Rooftop bar with great views. Only one elevator (left side) goes up to the top floor. Lobby gets crowded at check in time and elevators can be an issue due being small, so bring patience. Overall stay was fine, close to subway station and walkable to other major sights. Plenty of food options very close by. Would stay again if in the area.

Crowded but very clean & well-maintained hotel in super-busy Times Square area. Subways 1/2 block away. Room perfectly quiet despite big street noise. No restaurant or cafe, but rooftop bar open after 5. Super helpful and friendly staff everywhere.

This was my first time to New York. I had no idea where to stay but followed a lot of the comments before on this place and the price was great! Location was about a 5 minute walk to time square, 20 minute walk to the Empire State Building, food and shopping all around. And on top of that the staff was so sweet, and genuine. The rooftop bar was a plus just to sit up there and enjoy the view of the city without it being overcrowded. I will definitely be returning here!

This was a nice hotel. Check-in was seamless, Dominique was very friendly and helpful. The room was "quaint". Had what you needed for a good time, not a ling time! Quiet, even with a rooftop bar and the hustle and bustle right outside. We visited the rooftop bar, GREAT VIEW and good drinks. Good location, just a quick walk to Times Square and the subway. We chose the valet option, as we drove in, better than trying to self park. Carlos was a great help with that. Overall, great experience. I wojld recommend to others and stay again.

The check in was quick and very friendly. Love the cookies and water for all of us. The hotel and rooms were very clean, but the trims were a little smaller than expected and would have appreciated a refrigerator and microwave. However, there were easy access to tons of places to eat in the area. Did not like restaurant on site. Ordered the buffet and for the first 30 minutes, nothing was available.

I loved this hotel and hotel room, but the a/c unit in our room was broken so it was very difficult and hot at night. We did get free water bottles, cookies, breakfast vouchers, and more to compensate. Kevin was very nice especially since our first day we arrived. The breakfast was okay as well, but if you don’t wake up by 7:00 AM, the food was a bit cold - at least it was free.
