Lovely hotel, slightly tired, great value, helpful and friendly staff, fabulous breakfast. Clean room though a little mould top in bathroom where wall and ceiling meet, bath surround peeling slightly at bottom. Comfortable bed. Car park is not huge - think we had the last space on the Friday evening. Food good, drinks expensive, breakfast the star of the show - though thermos hot water and coffee not at the standard of the food. Lift was out of order when we arrived (and is clunky) but only 2 floors so not a disaster for many people.

Room was generally clean but dated and below average condition. No fan in the bathroom, a tap thar wouldn't turn off and a TV that wouldn't work - reported the latter to reception but not addressed. Slightly tired rooms but a lovely pub/restaurant with great staff. Fantastic location just at the top of the high street and only a couple of minutes from the National Trust property. A bit noisy but that’s the price you pay for the location. Recommended!

Greene King really need to spend some money here. The pub and restaurant downstairs are very nice, the staff are very friendly and helpful but the room is so, so tired. That was most apparent in the bathroom, which was very small, dark and the toilet leaked a little.

I always enjoy staying here - nice location, friendly staff, quirky rooms, nice pub downstairs. Be warned that this is not a standard, generic hotel! An older building with "character", which I enjoy but others may not. Would not be good if you have mobility issues: lots of stairs (even in the rooms), small elevator, baths difficult to enter/exit. Internet OK but spotty in some locations. Walls are fairly thin (you can hear your neighbors talking) but I've never heard the pub patrons, even when on the 1st floor, and hall-mates are almost always very quiet so this is very seldom a problem. Pub downstairs has lots of space and is usually quite quiet - good place to have a quiet chat or get some work done.

The rooms were quite dated. Mousetrap under the bed! Bins did not get emptied. Horrible stains on the wall. Hot water was dangerousely hot. Pub was lovely and staff were great.

The rooms are dated, the bathroom was in need of upgrade or just basic maintenance, the shower curtain needed replacing, it smelt damp and made the whole room smell. For where the hotel is, it did not suit it's surroundings, the pub downstairs was kept in good order but the breakfast was lacking in flavor and the bean portion was worse than Wetherspoons.

Comfortable and generally clean (although my daughter regretted looking under her bed!). Décor is tired and in need of a spruce up but it was very affordable and the bedding was clean and bed comfy. The Receptionist upon arrival and the one on departure were both lovely and welcoming. The guy in the breakfast hall not so much, adamant I had only paid for 5 breakfasts, not 6. This was easily cleared up at Reception and I was correct!

Tiny shower cubicle - would be impossible for a large person (I'm average size for a woman) to get in or out of small space when bi-fold doors fully folded! Peeling & dirty Bathroom window frames in need of redecorating. Very poor lighting as only 1 of 3 overhead lights worked & 2 bedside lights low voltage. Comfotable bed & clean linen.

We had a two night stay here in May. Firstly I’d like to say that the staff were superb especially Lucy who seemed to be there every second of every day looking after us checking in, out, breakfast and dinner. Thank you so much. The rooms were clean and the beds were big snd very comfortable. Excellent location in a lovejy area with shops a 2 minute walk away and the station 5 mins away to get into central Manchester. Overall a really nice stay in a nice clean hotel.

Plenty of outdoor space, many many tables. The rooms had lots of space and were fairly modern. Little things could have made it better, there were no plugs for charging by the bed and the toilet seat wouldn't stay upright. Other than that, it was good value

The staff were friendly, kind and professional from management to cleaners. They make this place work. The downside, for me was the poor wifi. It was important to me and lets the place down. I will return here despite this, because of the people.

We stayed in the hotel on our way to a wedding the next day. It's an attractive building in an upmarket village. Room was good, bed comfortable, and it was quiet so no problem sleeping. The bathroom was small and could benefit from updating, hence the four star rating.

We had a fantastic stay at De Trafford Hotel. Very friendly and smiling staff who give a warm welcome. The bar and lounge are cosy and a lovely area for food and drinks. The rooms are a bit worn, but everything works and is nice and clean. The bed comfort was good! I can highly recommend the hotel. The village was also nice with a small shopping street with supermarket and cafés. Easy to get to and from the airport and to manchester city by train in just 15 minutes.

Nice, clean hotel, a bit tired but comfy. Only issue we had was a lack of a useable plug in the room at the table, could not plug in kettle or a charger due to the placement of the plug but we reported that when we left. Good facilities in the town. Very helpful staff.

In the heart of Alderley Edge. Perfect.

Slightly tired rooms but a lovely pub/restaurant with great staff. Fantastic location just at the top of the high street and only a couple of minutes from the National Trust property. A bit noisy but that’s the price you pay for the location. Recommended!

We stayed in the hotel on our way to a wedding the next day. It's an attractive building in an upmarket village. Room was good, bed comfortable, and it was quiet so no problem sleeping. The bathroom was small and could benefit from updating, hence the four star rating.

This was a really lovely hotel with very friendly staff. The breakfast was absolutely amazing! We hope to return for a longer stay as Alderley Edge is a beautiful village that needs exploring.

The rooms are dated, the bathroom was in need of upgrade or just basic maintenance, the shower curtain needed replacing, it smelt damp and made the whole room smell. For where the hotel is, it did not suit it's surroundings, the pub downstairs was kept in good order but the breakfast was lacking in flavor and the bean portion was worse than Wetherspoons.

The staff were all very friendly and helpful, apart from knowing nothing about the local bus service. The food in the restaurant was really good, plenty to choose from. The only thing I couldn't bear was the loud music playing every morning at breakfast. It is definitely not for those with sensory difficulties or preferring a peaceful start to your day. I was quite peeved that on arrival, the booking price had increased by £97 which was a bit of a shock. Keep this in mind - prices change daily apparently. There were issues with the TV and getting the temperature with the water but house keeping came and sorted this - and the bath is extremely slippery. It's set in a lovely location with plenty of shops and places to eat. I would definitely recommend it.

You need to update the lift to automatic closing doors, the present system of manual closing doors is not good, if someone leaves the door open you can't use the lift, which is unacceptable in this day and age. Guests need to be able to use the lift at all times especially the older guests! A simple fix, it's not rocket science...
